Chapter 2: The hot-air balloon variations: Pandora's containment site B.

Notes:

"Every time you write, ask yourself: Could this scene take place in a hot-air balloon? If the answer is yes, then it probably should.” -Haruki Murakami

Chapter Text

"So digging here is quite dangerous, even if the box isn't here, so we marked it as ... undesirable."
"I mean its pretty obvious that we marked it, we're standing in the shadow of a set of geometrical stone spikes about twelve meters tall. They aren't quite. Part of the design concept for the markers is to show that we know about precision and geometry and that we chose not to use it. This is not a place of value."
"And there's an extent that it doesn't mater how big it is. We're on a salt flat- nothing we make will actually dominate the landscape beyond the fact that it is the only feature. If you get close enough, it will occupy more than half your vision, which is about the limit for humans to be overwhelmed by the size of the thing."
"But really the only way to appreciate the site is from hot-air balloon. Come on, the sunset over the spike field is spectacular."
