Chapter Text

…And for the second time of the day, Saiki and Shigeo ran straight into each other.

Which is actually kind of weird because Saiki could usually tell when things like that were going to happen. Must've been too focused on his clairvoyance.

The little kid under Saiki stumbled backwards and mumbled a sorrow ‘sorry’, before looking up to see, once again, who he had run into. ‘Its him…! The weird looking guy!’

Wow, ok, weird? No need to be so rude, kid.

Saiki gave the kid a quick up and down, just to make sure he hadn't accidentally shoved himself into some random kid. Bowl cut. Black hair. Not very tall.

Yep, it was the kid.

Reita seemed to be caught off guard at Saiki’s random stop as well and ran straight into his back, causing him and the kid to stumble forward into the building. Reita let out a very unconvincing ‘Oops’ and pushed himself along with everyone else all the way into the building. Saiki’s eye twitched. He didn’t particularly like being touched.

A rustling noise could be heard further in the building, a man with blond hair and gray suit popped his head around the corner, most likely wondering what the commotion was. Upon seeing the new hoard of people in the building he walked over as if it were just an everyday thing.

The blond man put a hand on the kid's shoulder as he stared at the two. “Hey there! Sorry about that, haha.” The man said in what one would only call a ‘customer service voice’. His thoughts, however, did not match up with what he was saying.

‘Is this the dude Mob was talking about? Huh, he does look weird.’ Wow. Thanks for totally amping Saiki’s confidence. Not like he needed any, he didn’t actually care what he looked like in this world. What was with people and his appearance in this world?

Although this did now confirm Saiki’s theory.

In Saiki’s world, having pink hair wouldn’t have been considered ‘normal’, so Saiki changed human DNA to have a more diverse hair color. He hadn’t done that in this universe, so it would be normal for people to think that was odd here. But, for his antanas and glasses, he simply used mind control to make people think it was normal.

So in theory, his mind control should still be working. But it's not. This might have made Saiki wonder if he still had his psychic powers at all, but he used his clairvoyance and telepathy. Does this mean only some of his powers weren’t working? But why? And who could have caused this?

He’ll have to think of something later.

Good grief, why did things like this always happen to him?

The man in the suit looked back at the kid, who was apparently named ‘Mob’ ( And they were calling him weird?? ) , and pushed him towards the door just slightly. He laughed. “Aha, well, as much as I would love to help you guys out, me and my assistant have a job to do… so…” The man ushered them towards the door.

Saiki didn’t move. Or talk, for that matter. Instead, inside of the office, a phone could be heard ringing. The man cursed in his head and walked back out of line of sight, most likely to take the phone call.

The kid, Mob, standing in front of them, had a short dilemma on whether to stay standing there, or to join the man in the suit ( assumedly named Reigen, due to his thoughts ), back into the office. Saiki started to assume Mob wasn’t the type to pick up on social cues.

Thankfully he didn’t have his crisis long, as the Reigen guy only spent a few minutes talking before walking back looking rather defeated and rubbing the back of his head. Again, strewing a line of curses in his mind that Saiki would rather not repeat.

He motioned for them to come further into the office. “Well, it seems as if the client has already got the problem figured out. I guess I could go ahead and help you guys, if that's what you're here for.”

Mob seemed confused for a moment before going back to his somewhat normal expression.

“Would you guys want some tea?”

_________

They were all currently sitting around a rather small table. The Mob had poured the tea out for everyone who was sitting untouched by Saiki. Reita, on the other hand, was chugging down like he had just gotten out of the Sahara Desert, seemingly ignoring the fact that it was still piping hot.

They all sat cramped and in silence. (Other than Reita’s slurping) It was honestly quite awkward. Saiki could tell Mob was the type to not talk if not spoken too, somewhat like himself. Reigen was sitting across from him, debating on kicking out the weird group of kids that appeared at his doorstep.

Saiki began to wonder if the people in front of them were actually psychics.

They all sat for a few more measly seconds, before Reigen decided kicking out probable clients wasn’t the way to go.

About to speak, he was suddenly cut off by screaming. Loud screaming.

Turning his head, Saiki was met with a screaming Reita Toritsuka.

He was pointing and yelling at what seemed to be Mob’s right shoulder.

He then tugged on Saiki's shoulder and weirdly shoved himself onto it. “SAIKIIII, GET IT, GET IT!” He paused then looked at someplace at the table before screaming again. “I-IT MOVED SAIKI! IT TALKEDD! HELP ME, SAIKI!!”

Reita then moved himself practically on Saiki’s lap, to which he very much didn’t enjoy. He almost shoved him halfway across the equator, but Saiki quickly stopped himself when he saw how shocked the people across from him were.

He didn’t get a good read on their thoughts, other than ‘an esper?’ , before the Reigen man stood up. Saiki didn’t know what to say, much less what to do, so he stayed in his seat. Mob also stayed seated.

Reigen shok off the sudden surprise of Reita’s unapologetic screaming and made an odd pose. “Aha! So that's why you're here! You’ve been seeing weird things floating around, haven’t you?” The man winked. Saiki sighed and fell deeper into his chair. “Well, have I got something to tell you, your psychic, surprise! You can see spirits now.”

Saiki cringed.

“Uh, yea duh! I knew that already! But that thing looks nothing like a ghost!” Reita shuddered. “I-it doesn't look human. At all!”

Oh?

Saiki shifted in his seat. So it was a ghost, or whatever Reigen wanted to call it? Nothing too special. At the very least it proved that they were really psychic. Saiki sighed and took off the small translucent glove he always had on his hand. It truly was a shame that Saiki couldn’t see ghosts on his own, he hated having to use Retia’s power.

Saiki pulled the glove fully off and placed a hand on Reita’s shoulder.

Oh.

What is that?

Sitting a few inches above the table in front of him, was what Saiki could only describe as a green fog with eyes and lips. It was talking to Mob, but Saiki was too busy trying to find out what the hell he was looking at.

Reita could see it, so it had to be a ghost. But from what Saiki could remember, ghosts still looked human. Or, resemble humans, at the most. Nendo’s father looked exactly as he did when he was alive, just see-through. But the thing in front of him looked like a kid had drawn a fart with eyes.

How weird.

It talked too.

“Woa, Shigeo! And here I thought that the dude wasn’t even an esper! I mean, you can barely feel his power! Haha!”

Feel his powers? What did that mean? Saiki also noted that he couldn’t read the green fog’s mind.

Reita’s screaming could now no longer be heard, wait where did he go? Saiki used his clairvoyance to only discover that he was… getting a massage?

The green fog now floated towards him. Like, directly in front of his head. His head that was now slowly building up to a headache.

“I mean, look at the guy!” The goblin waved his now existing hand, through Saiki’s head. His eye twitched. “His aura is off the roofs, yet he can’t even see me! Wild! Guess he isn’t that strong after all!” Mob seemed worried, he brought a hand closer towards the fog demon. “Dimple! You shouldn’t put your hand there. Its rude.” Mob gave Saiki a sympathetic look. Saiki felt slightly bad. But when the green smog in front of him, now named ‘Dimple’, almost pushed himself directly into Saiki’s head?

Hell no, there were too many people inside Saiki's personal space today. So, he grabbed the little shit from the top of its head, and flung it through the building. Maybe a few blocks over. It deserved it.

Mob, if he cared he didn’t show so. Instead he perked up a bit.

“Wait, so you could see him?”

Saiki nodded, and for the first time in a while, spoke using his real voice.

“Yep.”

Notes:

yoo, sorry this took so long to get out, ive been pretty busy lately.

also, i want to say that in this fic, saiki is unable to tell if other people are psychic. i don't remember very well, but i don't believe saiki could tell that people were psychic right away in the anime? (feel free to fact check me if i'm wrong.) but if he is , he wont be able too here.

Other than that, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Comments are very welcomed!
