Chapter Text

Fukuzawa sat in his office staring at a wall contemplating everything that has gone down. When Mori broke their bond he knew his soulmate would crack but he didn’t expect him to go insane. When they had last seen each other, Mori still held his sanity. Did he go about things differently than usual? Yes but Fukuzawa still hoped that he wouldn’t see Mori lose himself. There was a large part of him that still loved his mate while a small part hated him. I hated the person he has become. He picks the papers on his desk up with tense hands. The photo attached to the papers clearly displayed Mori’s red-violet eyes with a wide crazed look. Fukuzawa tried not to interfere with what his mate does but it seemed this time he will need to step in. Given the fact that it was Dazai and Chuuya that went after him.

He stood up silently grabbing his katana and placing it on his hip. It was time he went to go save his mate from himself before he got himself killed. He walked out into the office to see his subordinates working hard trying to figure out a way to help Atsushi.

“Kunikida.” At the sound of his voice, everyone looked at him before quickly standing up and addressing him. He locked eyes with his right-hand man.

“Drive me to the warehouse Atsushi is located.” He watched Kunikida grab his keys before shouting orders to the others to get back to work. They quickly walked to the car in dead silence. He trusted Kunikida to get him there on time. He only hoped he would make it before Dazai and Chuuya went feral.

(Little did he know that the sight he would come to would make his heart squeeze with distress.)

The warehouse was silent, no one spoke or moved a muscle. Chuuya stood there in surprise, his eyes never leaving Dazai’s. He watched as Dazai’s eyes widened which caused confusion in him. He felt a pain in his stomach but he didn’t know why. It was when he looked down that he saw blood pooling out of his stomach. He looked behind him with widened eyes to see Mori holding a gun. He quickly activated his ability to stop the bleeding. He didn’t expect Mori to shoot him. Hell, he didn’t think Mori would kidnap Atsushi.

He watched as Mori cackled. He couldn’t believe he followed such a man. A man that would even hurt his own subordinates to get what he wanted. The thing was Chuuya knew that it wasn’t always like this. He remembered a time when Mori used people to further the Port Mafia but he never actively went and harmed his executives. In his eyes, it seemed Mori could no longer be saved as he took in unhinged eyes. He slowly turned so he was facing Mori and moved back toward Dazai. He wanted to watch Mori’s every move. It was only a moment of weakness that Mori was even able to harm him. He had thought he knocked out the Boss. He knew neither he nor Dazai wanted Mori dead. Well, at least it was that way until Mori fucking shot him. He was pretty sure Dazai was going to go feral.

“Chuuya. Go to Atsushi.” He glanced over at Dazai and watched as Dazai became what he hated most. The Demon Prodigy.

“Dazai…” He knew he need to get to Atsushi who was trying his best to break free while crying. But a part of him knew he needed to stay by Dazai’s side. He couldn’t let his alpha slip into that role completely. He knows his mate and knew he would regret it once he came back. He definitely knew that his mate didn’t want Atsushi to see him like this.

“Chuuya. Now.” He narrowed his eyes at Dazai as he heard the growl in the other’s voice.

“No. You fucker calm the fuck down.” If he needed to he will punch Dazai out of it. He didn’t need his mate to go feral as the situation turned dark.

“Don’t tell me to calm down. It is time for Mori to pay.” Chuuya glared turning his back to Mori. Right now Mori was not the most dangerous person in the room. It was now Dazai. He closed the distance between them and punched Dazai in the face.

“I said calm the fuck down. We do not need you going stupid because I got shot. I am fine. Atsushi will be okay. Think about this fucking rationally.” He watched as Dazai kept his face to the side, covering his face with his hair.

Neither noticed Mori limp away over to Atsushi with a scalpel in his hands, having put the gun on the ground. It was when Atsushi screamed that they both whipped their heads toward Atsushi. A scalpel had been embedded into his shoulder.

“Tsk. Tsk. To think you guys would let your guard down again. To think the infamous double black that I created would stoop so low to let mates get in their way.” Anger coursed through them both. Dark expressions that spoke of pain and blood. Chuuya knew that he shouldn’t give in to the anger but it was hard seeing his mate. His omega had been mercilessly harmed putting him in the same place Dazai was.

He moved at the same time as Dazai, both flinging across the distance with growls of anger. He activated his ability right as he passed Atsushi to move him away. Both alphas slammed into Mori, pushing him up against the wall.

Chuuya took out his knife that he had hidden in his coat, placing it right at Mori’s throat. He heard the sound of a gunshot. A cry of pain echoed through the warehouse but it wasn’t a cry of someone who was going to die. No, it was a sound that spoke of just pain. He observed his surroundings and noticed Mori bleeding from his leg.

Dazai didn’t hesitate to put the gun to Mori’s head. He has had enough. He didn’t care that Mori shouldn’t be killed. He wanted the person that has harmed both of his mates gone. He only stopped when he heard another yell. At first, he thought it was Atsushi but when he took time to think about it he realized the voice was too deep. He glanced behind him to see the president next to Atsushi. He glared at the President not caring that he was the man that took him in.

“Dazai. Chuuya. Put your weapons down.” Dazai heard the slight waver in the other alpha’s voice. He didn’t understand why Fukuzawa would want him to stop. He didn’t understand why the President was even here.

“President with all due respect. I will not.”

“Dazai. Let me handle Mori. You and Chuuya should focus on Atsushi. He needs you more.” Fukuzawa had cut the binds off Atsushi with his katana before cautiously moving towards the two aggressive alphas. He needed to be cautious as any little movement would set the two off. When he walked into the warehouse he was not expecting his mate to be pinned to the wall with both alphas about to kill him. His heart clenched as he saw for himself the crazed look in Mori’s eyes. Oh, how his mate had fallen. Even if their bond was broken and the left side of his soul mark was faded, he could still feel their bond. He could still feel the love he had for the omega.

He watched Chuuya snap out of the haze of aggression first, lowering his knife. It was then that he moved a little closer. He hoped Chuuya could get through to Dazai because right now no one but his mates could help.

“Atsushi.” Chuuya looked over at Atsushi with horrified eyes. How could he completely forget his hurt mate? Fuck. He grabbed Dazai’s arm roughly not caring at this point that Dazai was still in a haze.

“Chuuya let me go.”

“No. Fuck. Look at Atsushi. We need to go to him.” Chuuya lifted a hand and roughly gripped Dazai’s jaw, turning his head to look directly at their mate. Atsushi was trying so hard to stand and get to them. His cries filled the ears of everyone there. It broke Chuuya’s heart to know that their mate was desperately crying out for them. To know that Atsushi has been trying to get to them. Atsushi wouldn’t want this. Atsushi wouldn’t want them to kill for him.

Dazai stayed silent as his head was turned. It was when his eyes lay on a hurt Atsushi, who was crying out to them, that he snapped out of his haze. He slowly retracted the gun from Mori’s head not caring for the laughter that fell from the Port Mafia Boss’s lips. He glanced at the president before he moved away. He knew he could trust Fukuzawa to handle this. Right now his soulmate needed him. Fuck what his mind was telling him. He needed to make sure Atsushi was alright.

Fukuzawa let out a silent sigh of relief as he watched the two alphas go over to their mate. It took him a moment to take in the scene to make sure the three of them would be okay. It was when Atsushi collapsed into the arms of his soulmates that Fukuzawa turned to his own. His eyes locked immediately onto red-violet eyes. He could see Mori leaning against the wall a grimace of pain on his face. He slowly walked up to the younger man with a serious look.

“I think it is time to stop. Don’t you think Rintaro?” Fukuzawa lifted his hand to caress the side of his mate’s face. Red-violet eyes looked at him with a weary glance. He could see the fight in the other’s eyes as he stood there. He knew his Mori was in there still, he just needed him to come out.

“Yu-Yukichi?” Fukuzawa let a small genuine smile take up his face as he looked at Mori. He takes his hands bringing them around the other’s neck to pull him close. He leaned their foreheads together as he closed his eyes.

“I think we are going to have a long and hard talk about this.” He pulled away eyes sharp as a knife. The time was now to start being better mates to each other. He didn’t care that Mori was more alpha than omega. He never cared about that. To think that his mate had such a problem with it and the societal role that was placed on omegas. Society claims omegas as weak humans that can’t do anything without an alpha or mate. He knew it was part of the reason Mori cut their bond off. (But that is a story for another time.)

“Let’s get you out of here and patched up,”

Mori growled as he was treated gently. He hated being treated as weak. He was the Boss of the Port Mafia and made it thrive. He didn’t need some mate to help him out but this was Yukichi. A man he had formed a close bond with even before they found out they were soulmates. He always grew calmer before him, it was a reason he limited their contact after he broke the bond. Taking in the sight behind Fukuzawa, Mori realized something. Dazai and Chuuya were holding Atsushi close reassuring him that everything is okay. That he wouldn’t be hurt anymore. A fierce growl came out of the weretiger when he looked at Chuuya’s wound. The glare Mori received from the weretiger caused a revelation. Maybe he went about this all wrong. To see such power from the three as they stood side-by-side glaring at him. Maybe having a mate or mates strengthens you. It causes you to do things you normally wouldn’t do, like trying to kill the Port Mafia Boss.

“I guess this is the most optimal solution.” He lets Yukichi put his arm around his shoulder and lead him away.

Dazai, Chuuya, and Atsushi didn’t let up their glares until the two were gone. It was then that Atsushi collapsed onto the ground causing his mates to shout. He smiled tiredly as his mates fretted around. He was so glad that they were here. The scents of his mate relaxed him to the point that he felt sleepy. Well, it could have been because of his injuries but he didn’t care. He knew he was safe.

“I am okay. Though I might need to see Yosano-sensei.” He chuckled a bit when his mates looked at him in absolute bewilderment. He heard Chuuya chuckle first before Dazai let out one of his own. He was gently picked up by Chuuya but an argument started.

“Why do you get to pick him up slug?”

“Because your noodle arms would not be able to hold him.”

Atsushi let out a giggle at his alphas argument letting himself rest in the crook of Chuuya’s neck. He knew that times ahead would be tough but they would get through it together.

When Chuuya got too annoyed he flew up out of Dazai’s reach with Atsushi. It cause laughter to burst out of Atsushi as he took in the surprised face of Dazai.

“SLUG!!” He could hear the whine in Dazai’s voice as he pouted. Atsushi continued to giggle as Chuuya smirked. It was when they got to the opening to where the warehouses were located that they saw Kunikida leaning against his car annoyed while scribbling in his notebook.

“Kuni~ Kida~!!” Dazai grinned mischievously as he took in the irritated man.

“YOU IMBECILE! YOU DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN WAITING OUT HERE FOR YOU THREE!”

“Calm your tits.” Chuuya sighed as he landed back on the ground. He moved toward the car as he shook his head. He couldn’t keep the smile off his face as Atsushi continued to giggle in his neck. He looks over to see Kunikida strangling Dazai once again.

“If you two are done, Can someone open the door so I can set Atsushi down?” That immediately stops Kunkida as he pushed his glasses up.

“Of course. I will just take care of Dazai later.” Kunikida glares at Dazai before opening the back door to the car. He immediately moved to the driver's side of the car before Dazai had the chance.

After Atsushi is set down gently in the seat Chuuya and Dazai start arguing again about who gets to sit next to him. He shake his head fondly as he watched his mates. It was good to see them in such spirits after that had happened minutes before. His heart filled with warmth as he saw his mates interact with each other.

“Since Chuuya got to carry me I think Dazai should be able to sit next to me.” Atsushi giggled as he saw Chuuya’s offended look while Dazai looked like he won a lifetime supply of bandages. He rolled his eyes at the antics of his alphas. He loved his soulmates so much even when they argue or get on his nerves. Once it was settled that Dazai would sit next to Atsushi they headed off back to the agency. He could feel his body start to relax and turn into lead. He couldn’t move a muscle, he was so tired. His ability still had yet to return so his injuries were not healing. He knew that everyone in the car was worried but he knew he was in good hands. He leaned against Dazai’s shoulder, letting his eyes close.

He wakes up in the infirmary with an IV in his hand. He groaned as his body ached but he could tell that nothing serious was going on. He smiled when he looked around the room and saw Chuuya sleeping next to him. Dazai was on the other bed with his headphones on. He loved that ever since they accepted him they never really left his side. It made him feel so loved and warm. How did he get so lucky to have two alphas that love him? He felt Chuuya start to stir which made Dazai look over. The smile Dazai gave him made everything brighter. Dazai's genuine smile was beautiful. He lights up his already handsome features even more. He looked his age when he smiled.

Atsushi watched as Dazai stood up and made his way over to him. He slid in next to Atsushi which made him giggle. He could see his smug grin when Chuuya finally woke up and sees Dazai next to Atsushi. The squawk that left the oldest alpha was hilarious to Atsushi. He slowly patted the bed next to him to invite Chuuya to lay with them. He giggled as Chuuya stuck his tongue out at Dazai before cuddling into him. This was where he was meant to be, right by his mates' side. This was home.

Though this is not the end of their story just the beginning.
