Chapter Text
Link and Ganon are in a wagon, riding through the desert region.
In that wagon with them are sacks of vol fruit. Link is sitting in Ganon's lap and is greedily eating a vol fruit. Ganon strokes a hand in link's hair, watching his voe greedily eat a vol fruit.
"Try not to eat everything you see in the carts, we still need to have a successful trade."
"Well it's around lunch time and I need to eat."
"You literally ate a huge meal an hour ago."
"And?" Link says with challenge in his voice, his cheeks still puffy from stuffing his face. Ganon sighs fondly and kisses his head. "Hope I have a big enough budget to feed you." He says jokingly.
While they sit together, one of the vai guards on a horse get close to the cart. "Sire, just to let you know, were passing by..it now."
"Oh." Ganon says. "Make sure everyone keeps a safe distance."
"Yes sire." She says before going to do what he says. Link looks a little confused, wondering what "it." Is.
"What is she talking about?"
"Down this road is a gold lynel. It's very terrorial, more than the average lynel. Last time we got a little too close and it nearly chased us into a sandstorm."
"Really?" Link says and starts to look around. Soon he spots the lynel. It stares at them with a powerful stance, watching them. Link stares right back at the beast. Determination in his eyes.
His hand starts twitching near a shamir sword he was provided. Ganon immediately notices.
"No." He says putting his hand on Link's wrist to stop him from reaching for the weapon.
"But-"
"No."
"Oh come on-"
"Absolutely not.”
Link huffs and pouts, but then smirks. "What are you, scared?" He says in a teasing voice and Ganon rolls his eyes. "No you little lunatic, I just don't want to have to deal with that today, I'm not in the mood. Now stop trying to fight everything you see before I confiscate your sword."
"Who says I need a sword to fight?"
Crazy little shit.
"Look would you just relax for once in your life, goddesses."
Link gives an overdramatic sigh before sitting back down. They're both silent for a few minutes and before they completey pass the lynel, Link does give it the middle finger.
"Link!" Ganon shouts.
"What? You said not to fight it. You didn't say anything about flipping it off."

In two hours they get to Rito village. They had to carfully cross the bridge and stop for the guards to search they're wagons.
After that, Rito guards started to unload some of the carts.
"I must say Ganondorft, you always suprisly have good stock, despite living in the desert. The elder will be very pleased, espically with these very fine wines you brought." A guardsmen says
Ganon nods. "I'm glad that my goods meet your elder’s expections-"
"I'll be the judge of that." A voice says and Ganon looks around for the source of it. He looks up and sees a Rito on one of the village building structures. He swoops down and lands gracefully on his clawed feet.
Ganon and Link get a good look at the Rito to see who it is.
It's Revali. Rito's champion. He crosses his arms and looks at Ganon with judgement than at link with distain.
"You may be in the elder's favor with your supplies, but I say we should still be very cautious around you. After all, the gerudo are known as thieves."
Ganon takes a deep breath, telling himself to keep his cool.
“And are you sure these supplies are as good as you claim them to be? I find it hard to believe anyone can have good resources from the desert.” Ravali says as walks around the carts, inspecting the stuff that is inside of them. He goes to a wagon with sacks of rock salt. “And I find it hard to believe that half of this stuff can be your very own resources.”
He picks one chunk of it up to look at it. “Like How do we know you didn’t steal these from the gorons?”
Before Ganon can answer, Link rolls his eyes and speaks first.
“Rock salt can literally be found everywhere in Hyrule. How are you going to accuse him of stealing rock salt when it’s the only thing that can found more than flint in ores? I can not count how many times I’ve seen an ore that looks like it has some rubies in it, only for it to be 3 pieces of Rock salt and one Ruby. It’s the easiest thing you find so shut the fuck up.”
Revali looks at aboustly appalled by link’s words and Ganon has to bite his tongue so he doesn’t laugh.
Revali puts the salt back in the cart while glaring at Link. “If you don’t mind me asking why is he here?”
Ganon clears his throat before answering. “He is here, because..Princess Zelda has offered to send him to the desert to help defend it from the desert creatures, the moldugas and Gibdos are getting a little out of hand, that’s all.”
“Well, even if that is true, he’s not welcome here. Besides he might give the villagers mage or rabies.”
Link scowls and is about to say something, but Ganon cuts him off. “If he does not accompany me, then you get none of my offered supplies and I’m sure your village elder wouldn’t be too happy with you if let your childish dislike of this knight get in the way of trading.”
The blue feathered Rito squints his eyes at link before huffing. “Fine. But next time if you bring him, put a leash on him. But as now we shall continue with business.”
Ganon nods and turns to his guards and gives them a nod too, to let them know to start helping unload things from the wagons.
“After your guards bring the stuff into the village, our stuff that we are willing to trade will be bought to you. You can make use of the of the shops while you’re here I suppose.”
With that the rito flys away, leaving the two by themselves. Link is quiet for a moment before asking “can I stab him?”
“Not in public.” Ganon answers before making his way into the village and link follows him. The first place they head to is the general store. A girl Rito stands behind the counter and gives them a smile.
“Hello and welcome to the slippery falcon, feel free to look around and let me know if you have any questions, okay?” They both nod and look around the store. There are srrrows, sticks of butter, stocks of wheat, creates of different types of mushrooms and one table has a tray of freshly made meat pies that smell heavenly.
Of course Link picks that and Ganon pays about 10 rupees for two
They both walk out the shop eating pies.
“So tell me, why is that pompous cucco so bitter towards you?”
Link shrugs a little while taking a bite of meat pie. “He’s just mad because I was able to beat him in a duel. He challenged me on our first mission together, to see who was the better warrior, I ended up winning.” He says as he leans against one of the villiage railings, enjoying the view and Ganon does the same.
“What was your weapon of choice that day? A knights claymore? A guard spear or did you beat him at his own game with a bow and arrow?”
“Nah. I beat him with a random stick I found on the ground and then threw at him when he was up the sky, it hit him in the face and he crash landed.
Ganon snorts, the image of Link running feral with a stick to beat someone with it is just hilarious. Ganon finishes his meat pie and hands the napkin to Link, while Link crumples up his. “Make sure you throw the trash away before we leave.” Ganon says before getting some crumbs off of himself.
“Geeze. I don’t like Revali, but it would be rude to kick him out of his own village.”
Ganon nearly wheezes.
