Chapter Text
peter and tony were both walking to one of tony's expensive cars, hoping to not get too noticed in public today by paparazzi. the last thing tony would want is for the news to realise tony had adopted a child way before he wanted to announce it.
he didn't want to tell peter in case it got him a bit upset, but, this was only a trial run. for a week, minimum, the pair would try and live together as a father - son pair. if for some reason it didn't work out, peter would go back to the orphanage.
that was something mr stark never wanted to do in a million years so he was trying to get peter to open up a bit more.
once tony finds a pretty decent car, which he was sure wouldn’t draw much attention to the public eye, he gets into the driver’s seat and silently motions for peter to get in too.
tony doesn’t let the fact that peter hasn’t uttered a single word to him go unnoticed. he knew for this arrangement to work, peter had to become comfortable with him. that was the plan for today. mr stark mentally noted: get peter to be comfortable.
once peter had taken his seat in the passenger’s side, the pair take off. despite the fact it was around 10 in the morning, it was still relatively dark due to the fact they were in the winter season, coming close up to christmas.
he remembers back to a time where christmas was without a doubt his favourite time of year. the way everyone decorated their houses in the neighbourhood, there was always happy families going shopping and everyone had fun. he reminisces back to a time where everything was much, much easier. he misses may and ben.
suddenly the guilt face palms him right then and there in the car with the tony stark as he comes to the depressing realisation his aunt and uncle will never have another christmas to spend. he finds himself choking back a sob and wiping away at his tears furiously.
he didn’t need tony to see what a weak, blubbering mess he’d picked up for a son.
