Chapter Text

“Momma, momma!” Carter squealed as she ran down the stairs towards the living room.

“What’s wrong?” Laura asked, standing up from where she had been sitting with a glass of wine and her book.

“Mommy is tryna eat me!” Carter yelled as she ran behind Laura’s legs and hid her face.

“Well maybe if you’d actually sleep then I could get my snack from Momma instead.” Carmilla winked when she saw Laura’s questioning gaze, chuckling when she noticed Laura’s blush.

“But if I sleep then I’ll miss Santy Clause!” Carter pouted coming out from where she was hiding behind Laura.

Carmilla rolled her eyes, “Well he certainly won’t show up if you’re awake.”

“Carm.” Laura scolded.

“Do you want to put her to bed? She’s being extra monstery tonight.”

Laura looked down to Carter whose arms were crossed and her pajamas rumpled with a single piece of hair sticking up in the form of an alfalfa. She stuck out her hand for Carter to take. “Alright, let’s give Mommy a break and go back to bed.”

“Fine.” Carter relented.

“Oh you’ll do it for her won’t you?” Carmilla teased, sighing heavily once they had disappeared up the stairs and took Laura’s discarded wine glass with her to the couch.

A half an hour later Laura came back downstairs to check up on her fiancée, chuckling when she saw her head dipping slowly while trying to stay awake. The entire room was dark except for the Christmas tree, which lights glowed along the hardwood floor. “Extra monstery?” Laura chuckled as she dropped down onto the couch and curled into the vampire’s side.

Carmilla chuckled tiredly, “Shut up.”

“Do you want to get the presents or should I?” Laura asked.

Carmilla grunted and her eyes closed.

Laura smiled pressing a kiss to Carmilla’s cheek. “I’ll go get them.”

When Laura returned to the living room Carmilla was lightly snoring.

xXx

Carmilla woke up to the feeling of something heavy landing on her chest.

“He was here! Mommy Santy Clause was here!”

Carmilla opened her eyes slowly to find Carter sitting on her stomach and that they were both in the living room. Looking around she found Laura walking in from the kitchen with two mugs of coffee in her hands.

“You left me on the couch last night?” Carmilla asked.

Laura shrugged, “You’re hard to wake up.” Handing Carmilla her coffee she continued, “Besides, you’re really cute when you drool.”

Carmilla scoffed trying to quickly rub away the dried drool on the corner of her mouth.

“Can I open the presents now?” Carter asked reminding the two of them that they were not alone in the room but in the company of a very excited six year old on Christmas morning.

“Go ahead, sweet pea.” Laura said as she made herself comfortable next to Carmilla on the couch.

Carter didn’t need any more of an invitation before diving into the pile of presents beneath the tree. “Whoa, look at this Mommy! Santa got me a doll house!”

Carmilla grinned watching as her daughter unwrapped the dollhouse and smile so bright she could put any light bulb to shame. She did something right when she agreed to have a child with Laura, and she couldn’t wait to do it again.

Notes:

Sorry I haven't updated this in eons and this is a very short chapter but I tried. I got a new job working overnight at a grocery store and finals week has just started. Hopefully I'll be able to put something out over break but don't hold your breath. Sorry again but I hope this made up for it in some way <3

Notes:

I couldn't stay away for too long. Carter is too much fun to write! Let me know what you think :)
