Touya was surprised how long it actually took him to die, and when it did happen he was expecting fire and brimstone. That is not what happened though, he was on clouds and led into the proverbial pearly gates. Then he was promptly tackled by Toga.
“Dabi!” Toga said.
“Psycho?” Touya asked, shocked. But he was happy to see her and actually hugged her.
“I’m sorry Dabi,” Toga said. “It’s all my fault you are here.”
“What do you mean?” Touya asked. “And just call me Touya. Dabi died on the battlefield.”
“You only joined the League because of me,” Toga said.
“Like I was going to let my little sister do something so crazy all alone,” Touya said.
“I thought you two were lying about knowing each other,” Tenko said. Unlike Touya who still had his white hair, Tenko had his black hair.
“Crusty?” Touya asked.
“Tenko,” Tenko said. “Yeah, I’m as surprised as you.”
“Only Spinner and Mr. Compress are not here,” Jin said, but there was no second voice.
“Did Spinner survive?” Touya asked.
“Yeah,” Tenko said. “Good for him. I wish more of you survived. I am sorry my loyalty to All for One got you all here.” Touya couldn’t help it, free of anger and pain, he just pulled Tenko and Jin into a big hug.
“You always did seem like a secret hugger,” Jin said.
“Come on,” Tenko said. “You get to see how people mourn you.”
“Huh?” Touya asked.
“I was surprised,” Jin said. “Hawks even mourned me, after he killed me.”
“He did?” Touya asked.
The mentioning of his Birdie actually made Touya sad. He had loved that bird his whole life, even before meeting him. And they almost had happiness, or at least he hoped so. There was still a part of him that wondered if it was all a honey pot.
“Come one,” Tenko said. “We can see too if you want.”
“Sure.” Touya said.
So they all went to watch Tenko, especially surprised by all the other people for Touya. Touya cried when his mom cried for him, but also glad Shoto reacted well to his little letter. They oooed at the butterflies, and Toga gasped when Rei wanted to move Toga to be buried next to Touya.
When Keigo received the letter, Touya was worried he would just throw it, but then cried when Keigo cried. Touya was also not expecting that Keigo would proceed to keep the card by his bed.
Time went by strangely in heaven, and Touya could check on his family whenever he wanted to. After this first viewing, Tenko introduced Touya to his family, everyone but his father was also here. Though they were all the same age they died, so Hana was very small. They even all got to meet Nana Shimura, who was so very proud of her grandson. Boasting about how he survived everything and even grooming just to overcome it to save everyone. This always made Tenko uncomfortable.
Toga had her grandparents, and Jin also had some family, but Touya only had the league members. So he spent more time watching his family. He watched Natsuo buy each of five children their own Totoro plush, so that their uncle was always with them.
Fuyumi spent years taking care of Enji, since Rei never moved back into that house. Rei considered a divorce but it was just too complicated and had no interest in dating either so she just left it be.
Touya also watched Shoto grow into an excellent hero, even better than their father. Fuyumi arguing with Natsuo over his children never seeing their grandfather. Granny, Mrs. Ito and Rei all become friends, having tea monthly, Touya was glad his mother wasn’t alone.
Then best thing of all, Natsuo causing Enji to have a heart attack. Ten years after Touya died, there was a massive snow storm, and Natsuo got caught outside in it, but was perfectly fine. Then it was discovered, after some testing, Natsuo was an ice SUPER, and Enji had just been sitting on him since he only had ice powers. Enji realizing how much he fucked up, not from ignoring his children, no of course not. But from realize he could have used Natsuo to out shine All Might and missed it, is what caused the heart attack.
This killed Enji, Touya was not looking forward to dealing with his father in heaven. But he went to the gates anyway, and got a shock, and so did Enji. Enji saw Touya and tried to run to him, but a near comical trap door opened as Enji was sent to hell. Touya stood there in shock, but went to check on his mom and siblings over his passing. Only Fuyumi went to the funeral, not even Keigo went.
Speaking of Keigo, Touya watched him the most, always afraid to find him with someone else. But that never happened, even turning down blind dates, and always kept the card by his bed. Two years after Touya’s death, Keigo did adopt a shelter cat that survived a fire, and named it Dabi.
Keigo treated this cat like it was a child, and spoiled it, but he also would show him pictures of Touya. Keigo would refer to Touya as the cat's other dad, also telling the cat that he was watching them from heaven. When the cat Dabi died, Touya found him following him around in heaven. Keigo spent a week in bed, before adopting a second cat, named Totoro.
Just like with Dabi, Keigo spoiled Totoro and told him all about other parent Touya. Sadly Keigo out lived a second cat, and Touya got a second cat in heaven. Touya though continued to spoil them, they were his Keigo’s babies after all. So he spent more time with the cats after this, and less time watching the living.
Eventually his mother joined him, after she was in her 90’s, she ran over and hugged Touya as soon she realized he was there. She also laughed when she learned Enji wasn’t there. Over time his siblings finally came, all hugging him, and Touya finally got to meet his sister-in-law. Fuyumi being the only one confused by their father being in hell.
Keigo actually joined them, a year after Rei, old and gray, but Touya still ran over and hugged him.
“Touya?!” Keigo asked, crying. “I’ve missed you so much.”
“I’ve missed you too,” Touya said. “Dabi and Totoro are here too.”
“They are?” Keigo asked.
“Yes,” Touya said. “Our babies have been with me since they left you.” Keigo cried again. Touya just hugged him. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Keigo said. “Though I’m old and gray and you are…”
“Also with gray hair,” Touya teased. Then kissed Keigo, like he had wanted to since their fight. Keigo kissed back, they had both missed each other so much.
But since this was heaven, something magical happened during the kiss, and Keigo turned back to his young self. They essentially ‘lived’ happily ever after with their fur babies and family up in heaven.
