Chapter Text
Her teeth dig into her bottom lip as she watches Arizona writhe beneath her. She watches her arch her back and moan her name while Amelia fucks her hard and fast. She relishes in watching her body move and her hips roll. Sweat beads down Arizona’s chest and her eyes close tight.
“Fuck, Amelia, I’m close.”
Her voice sounds rough and raspy and Amelia could just about die at how fucking hot it is. She feels short nails dig into her biceps, the grip Arizona has on her is otherworldly. She’s sure she could come just from watching Arizona like this. She’s so pretty like this.
“Come for me, Arizona.” She says back to her, her face buried in her neck and her tongue sucking her pulse point as she pumps her fingers even harder and even faster than before.
Arizona’s nails dig into her back, scratching down it and holding her tight, “Yes. Fuck, yes. Oh god.”
x
Her alarm sounded and she immediately sat up, her heart pounding and her breathing heavy. God, not another dream about Arizona. While sleeping under the blonde’s roof, no less.
She wiped the sweat from her forehead and plopped back down on the sheets. Her breath evened out and she covered her eyes with her hands. She wanted to scream. She was so damn frustrated with herself.
She gasped softly when she heard a knock on the door. She made sure she was completely covered up before answering, “Uh come in!”
Arizona grinned when she opened the door, “Hey! You called?” She was holding a mug of coffee in her hands and she had sweatpants on — it felt weird to see Arizona like this but Amelia liked it. She really liked it.
“Um…did I?”
“I could’ve sworn I heard you say my name a minute ago,” Arizona furrowed her brows.
Fuck, she heard.
“Oh! Um yeah, I was just gonna ask if I could use your shower.”
Arizona looked at her like she had three heads before laughing, “Of course you can! I’ll go put a towel in the bathroom.” She smiled and exited the room and Amelia felt like she could breathe again.
She plopped back down on the bed and pressed the palms of her hands into her eyes. She needed to get herself together — she needed to forget all about those stupid dreams.

As Arizona drove them to work, it was silent. It had practically been silent all morning and Amelia hated it — awkward silence was the bane of her existence. But she wasn’t going to be the one to break it — she’d rather suffer than strike up a conversation that would inevitably die quickly and then be awkward again. However, it seemed Arizona had more confidence than her.
“Do you…do you wanna talk about what happened last night?” Arizona kept her eyes focused on the road ahead of her and Amelia was grateful for it. Eye contact would certainly be too much.
“Uh, not really. Unless you want to.”
She watched as Arizona swallowed and then shook her head, “No, no. We can just forget about it.” Her head turned slightly to glance at Amelia.
“Yeah. Sounds good to me,” Amelia smiled a tightlipped smile.
“Cool,” Arizona said quietly.
A few moments of silence fell between them and Amelia prayed for Arizona to turn on the damn radio or something. She would do it herself but she didn’t know Arizona like that. Not enough to control the systems in her car without her permission. But apparently well enough to stick her tongue down her throat and almost fuck her on the side of the road.
“Are you nervous about seeing Owen?”
“Nervous, no. Afraid I might kick his ass in the middle of the hospital and get myself fired? Yes.”
Arizona laughed at that and thankfully, it broke the awkwardness, “Now that’s something I’d pay to see.”
“Me get fired?” Amelia joked.
“Oh, I wouldn’t let that happen. I’m on the board, remember?” Arizona winked, “Besides, they’d have to fire me too, because I’d be in the corner cheering you on.”
Amelia giggled and relaxed more into her seat, “I could see that happening. You were a cheerleader in high school, weren’t you?”
Arizona’s jaw dropped as she turned to look at Amelia while she was stopped at a red light, “I was not!”
“What? It’s not an insult!” Amelia argued back, her cheeks sore from grinning so hard.
“You’re saying it like an insult!” Arizona pushed her shoulder softly.
“Hey, I’m just sayin’. Stereotypical hot blonde girls were usually popular cheerleaders.”
“Yeah, well, lesbians were not popular and they were definitely not cheerleaders so…” She focused her eyes back onto the road, the remnants of a smile remained on her lips, “Do you think we would’ve been friends in high school?”
“I don’t know, was teenage Arizona into drugs and jumping off roofs?”
“Well, no. Teenage Arizona was the shyest girl you’d ever meet. And something tells me that teenage Amelia wasn’t shy at all.”
“And you’d be correct. I was a fucking nightmare. My teachers wanted to hate me but they couldn’t because I was so good in school. My homework was always done and I made straight A’s. They kinda just let me get away with shit because I was a good student.”
“Yeah, we definitely wouldn’t have been friends in high school. I hated kids like that.” Arizona teased, looking over at Amelia and smirking.
“Well, how does it feel to be friends with a kid like that now?”
Arizona quirked an eyebrow up, “Friends?”
“Isn’t that what we are, Robbins?”
“I don’t really know a lot about you, Shepherd,” Arizona shrugged, “But I’d like to.” She avoided Amelia’s gaze which was something the brunette didn’t like. For once, she wanted to see the look in Arizona’s eyes. For once, she didn’t want to be avoided. For once, she didn’t care if it was awkward, she just wanted to see.
“I think I can manage that,” Amelia nodded and watched Arizona smile as she turned into the hospital parking lot.
“You can stay with me as long as you need to, by the way. I know you’d probably rather be with your sisters but…the offer is still there.”
Amelia thought for a minute and then nodded, “I might actually take you up on that offer.”
Arizona’s eyes lit up and she grinned, “Great.”

When she finally got a second to breathe after this busy day, she entered the attending’s lounge with a sigh and immediately walked over to the coffee pot. She groaned when she realized it was empty and that she’d have to brew a new batch.
The door from behind her swung open and she turned around to see Owen staring back at her.
“Where were you last night?” Owen asked. His voice was soft and he almost looked sad as he asked it.
“Did you really think I was gonna come home to you? After what happened? After how you treated me?” Amelia scoffed, “Think again.”
Owen sighed and looked down, “I was an asshole.”
“Yup,” She agreed and continued to make her coffee, desperate for it to be done already so that she could leave this room.
“I’m sorry,” he said quietly.
“It’s too late for sorry.”
“Amelia…Can’t we just talk about this?”
“Nope,” Amelia spun around and crossed her arms, staring him down as the coffee brewed behind her.
“Come home tonight,” Owen asked, his eyes hopeful, “Please.”
“No.”
“But where else will you stay?”
Amelia sighed, “That’s not for you to worry about. I’ll figure it out, Owen. And I’ll pack my shit and move out.”
“Move to where? You hate staying at Meredith’s.”
“First of all, I don’t hate staying at Meredith’s. Secondly, that’s not where I’m staying.”
“Then where?” He persisted.
Amelia contemplated telling him the truth — maybe it would sting for him to hear. And she was still so angry at him that she actually kind of wanted to hurt him a little bit, “Arizona’s.”
Owen furrowed his brow immediately, “Arizona’s?”
“Yup. She kindly offered because she clearly saw what happened and knew it wasn’t my fault unlike every other person in this damn hospital.”
“People will forget about it by next week, it’s not like gossip doesn’t fade.”
“And that makes it okay?” Amelia tilted her head, her brow furrowed hard, “I may be a lot of things, Owen, but a cheater is not one of them.”
With that, she left the lounge, forgetting about the coffee, she just needed to get away from him.

Arizona offered to drive her to Owen’s place to pick up her car after work, which she obliged.
“Did you speak to him today?”
“Yup. He tried to apologize and get me back,” Amelia shook her head, still shocked by the audacity, “He seemed shocked that I wasn’t gonna come home.”
Arizona scoffed, “The fucking nerve. Men are always shocked by the consequences of their actions as if he didn’t do this to himself.”
“Exactly!” Amelia turned towards her and threw her hands up in frustration, “God, maybe I’m done with men for now. Maybe forever.”
Arizona smirked and held out her fist for a fist bump, “Join the club.”
Amelia laughed, “Join what club? The lesbian club?”
“Well, no. I think you need to be a lesbian to join the lesbian club but…join the done with men forever club!”
“Ah, I see. Did Arizona Robbins ever have a not done with men phase? Before she knew?”
“For sure. I was married to a boy years ago.”
“Wait, what?”
“Yup. Got married to my brother’s best friend when I was about ten years old.”
Amelia laughed, “I see. Messy divorce?”
“Definitely,” Arizona joked. She looked over at Amelia and smiled for a moment before she turned to look at the road. They were nearing Owen’s house and Arizona furrowed her brow, “Will he be here? Do you want me to come in with you?”
Arizona looked concerned. As if she would protect Amelia if they went in there and he started to yell again. The brunette wondered what Arizona would do — if she’d yell back at him, if she’d step in front of Amelia to shield her from Owen’s wrath, if she’d tell her to go wait in the car while she took care of it. Amelia’s heart beat quicker at the thought.
“It’s okay, I don’t need to go inside, I have my car keys on me anyway.”
“Y-You don’t need to pick anything up from inside? Clothes or anything?”
“Shit, yeah I probably should,” Amelia sighed as they pulled into the driveway and saw Owen’s car, “You don’t have to come in with me.”
“Would you feel better if I did?”
“Yes, but I don’t think Owen would,” Amelia tried but Arizona was already taking her seat belt off and opening her car door.
“I don’t care about Owen,” Arizona said, matter of factly. “Well I do, but I care more about you.”
Amelia smiled at that and got out of the car. She took a deep breath as she walked up to the door with Arizona following behind her. She knocked firmly and moments later Owen opened the door.
“Amelia?” He seemed happy at first until he saw Arizona standing there too. He averted his gaze back to Amelia, “What’s going on?”
“Can I come in?”
“Of course. Why’d you even knock? This is your house too,” Owen opened the door wider.
She stepped inside, “Yeah, not anymore.” She looked over her shoulder and saw Owen hesitate to let Arizona inside, “For fuck’s sake Owen, let her in.”
He sighed but obliged, closing the door behind Arizona, “What, you’re just gonna move out for good?” Owen asked, “Just like that?”
“Just like that,” Amelia nodded as she searched the house, looking for any essentials she might need for the next couple of days at least.
“Amelia, please. Don’t be like this,” Owen pleaded again.
“Me?! You did this, Owen, not me,” Amelia looked him in the eye.
“We have a house together, we have a life together, please,” Owen replied, he took a step closer to her and Amelia saw Arizona step closer to the both of them, ready to pounce if she needed to. And though Amelia knew Owen would never physically harm her, she felt safer with Arizona there.
“You dumped me. You dumped that life down the fucking drain,” Amelia said sternly.
“I didn’t mean it, I want you back.”
“Yeah and after that crap you pulled, you’ll never get me back.”
Owen’s jaw clenched at that and his eyes widened. He was angry, there was no doubt about that. He stepped closer to Amelia and her eyes found Arizona’s quickly. Arizona raised her eyebrows, almost asking and Amelia nodded softly.
Arizona immediately stepped in, “Owen-“
“Why are you even here?! This has nothing to do with you!” His voice was so loud that it made Amelia flinch.
Arizona narrowed her eyes and Amelia could tell she was getting angry as well. Then, she placed herself right between them, “Amelia, go get your stuff.” She said softly, her head tilting to look at her, giving her a reassuring smile.
Amelia nodded and went straight to her and Owen’s bedroom.
“No,” She heard Arizona say. Amelia looked into the hallway and saw Arizona’s hand on Owen’s chest, pushing him back, “Leave her alone.”
He seemed to listen to her and relaxed a bit, walking away from Arizona and into the living room. Amelia sighed in relief and began packing her suitcase, grabbing random things she could find. She took her jewelry box and her journal as well. She looked around one last time, making sure she wasn’t missing anything.
When she was sure, she made her way back into the living room. She saw Owen sitting on the sofa and she walked over to him and placed her house key on the coffee table.
He looked at it and then looked away, shaking his head and scoffing.
With that, she left.
Arizona placed a comforting hand on her shoulder when they got outside and Amelia felt a little more grounded just by the simple gesture.
Arizona reached for her suitcase, “Pop the trunk,” the blonde said and Amelia smiled as she watched Arizona lift the heavy suitcase into her trunk with ease. She had to admit, she stared at her biceps that flexed for a little too long.
Amelia opened her car door, “See you at yours?”
“Bet I’ll beat you there,” Arizona winked and got into her own car.
The drive wasn’t too long and before she knew it, she was pulling in behind Arizona who was standing there waiting for her.
“Told you I’d get here first,” Arizona teased, circling Amelia’s car and opening her trunk to grab the suitcase again.
Amelia just laughed and rolled her eyes, “Whatever.”
They walked into the house and Amelia felt herself exhale — she felt at ease being here. She wondered if she’d miss her house with Owen at all. Now that she thought about it, it didn’t feel like a home to her anyway — Owen had bought it himself and decorated it himself. She felt like a guest in her own home.
“Are you okay?” Arizona pulled her out of her thoughts.
Amelia nodded softly, “I think so, yeah.” She smiled back at her, “Thank you for…that.”
“It’s no problem. I like yelling at men,” Arizona shrugged and giggled.
Amelia smiled, grateful for Arizona lightening the mood, “I was worried you were gonna punch him.” She joked.
“Oh, I would’ve,” Arizona looked at her and she seemed very serious, “I would’ve if I needed to.”
“Hm, who knew cutesy Arizona Robbins was scrappy,” Amelia laughed.
“Cutesy?” Arizona furrowed her brow and then chuckled, “Oh, Shepherd, you have no idea just how not cutesy I really am,” She smirked and focused her attention onto the floor.
Amelia chewed the inside of her lip wondering what Arizona meant by that, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
The blonde smirked again and shook her head, “Nothing, don’t worry about it.”
Amelia could only imagine.
“Well,” Amelia started, “I’m gonna take another shower if that’s okay?” She reached out for her suitcase in front of Arizona’s legs.
The blonde nodded, “I’ll make a start on dinner.”
After her shower, she felt refreshed, almost like she was able to wash the day off her skin and start anew.
She didn’t bother drying her hair properly, she just wanted dinner as soon as possible.
She smiled when she saw Arizona cooking away in the kitchen. She sat at the wooden dining table and admired her, “Smells so good in here.”
Arizona looked over and grinned, “It’s almost done.”
Amelia nodded and smiled back at her, “Do you need any help?”
“No, no. You just sit there and look pretty,” Arizona winked.
Amelia felt butterflies erupt in her stomach at that, Arizona was such a flirt. Not that she was complaining.
Soon enough, Arizona brought over two bowls of pesto pasta, sitting one in front of Amelia.
They didn’t waste any time digging in, it was already 9 o’clock and neither of them had really eaten since the morning.
When Amelia took her first bite, she moaned softly from how good it was. Arizona looked at her across the table and narrowed her eyes, “Good?” The blonde shifted in her seat slightly.
The look Arizona was giving her was one she hadn’t seen before. She was curious as to what it meant, “So good,” Amelia confirmed.
When they finished, they agreed to just get ready for bed. It had been a long day for both of them so rest was a priority.
As Amelia was about to undress, she heard a knock from the door, “Come in.”
Arizona opened the door but didn’t come in, she just stood in the doorway, her body clad in silky pink pajamas. Amelia found it so incredibly cute, “Just wanted to say goodnight since I forgot to last night.”
Amelia walked closer to her and smiled softly, “Well, thanks again for today. I really appreciate it.”
“It’s okay, I’m happy to help when I can,” Arizona smiled and her dimples showed. She was fully leaning against the doorway now, her arm on the doorframe and Amelia’s stomach fluttered.
She found herself leaning closer to Arizona as she leaned on the other side, “Okay well, we should get some sleep. Early morning tomorrow,” But she didn’t move.
“Yeah, we should,” Arizona nodded but she didn’t move either.
They stared at each other, neither of them breaking their gaze. Arizona leaned forward and looked at Amelia’s lips quickly. The brunette’s stomach fluttered as she leaned forward too, hoping to close the gap. But instead, Arizona pulled away.
“Goodnight, Amelia,” Arizona smirked and bit her lip, disappearing down the hallway.
Amelia leaned her head on the doorframe, closed her eyes and groaned.
What a fucking tease.
