Chapter Text
Clark couldn’t stop thinking about Friday. The week seemed painfully slow. He flew laps around the city in the evenings to pass the time and try to keep Lex from his mind.
It worked most of the time, until he would lay in bed at night, trying and failing to fall asleep, memories of Lex’s taste flooding his mind.
Clark rolled over and stared up at the ceiling, watching the glow in the dark stars he’d stuck there when he first moved in.
Only in the privacy of absolute darkness did he find himself smiling in excitement at what was to come.
He had no idea what Lex was feeling—his socials and comments remaining empty. And, yes, Clark had been checking.
It wasn’t until Thursday night—Clark was spending it working on an article, both to distract himself and to make sure he finished early tomorrow—that he got a text from Lex.
‘Seven PM. Sharp. Don’t keep me waiting.’
Clark smiled down at his phone, reading it in Lex’s usual tone before replying.
‘Okie dokie!’
He chuckled to himself, just picturing Lex’s annoyed face in response. He put his phone away and got back to work, his heart pounding just steadily.
“I’m seeing that guy tonight.” Clark told Lois Friday morning before work.
“Boo—” She stuck her tongue out, not looking up from where she was packing her stuff in her bag.
“But this is his last chance—” Clark said and she laughed. “I’m serious—I’m gonna ask him what he wants, if he doesn’t want me, it’s over.”
“But you’re gonna have sex with him first, right? Before you talk?” She smirked.
Clark just stared down into his bowl of cereal, saying nothing. She laughed, taking his silence as confirmation.
“Guys really only think with their dicks.”
Clark ignored her laughter, his face flushed as he dropped his empty bowl in the sink and grabbed his briefcase.
“Well, I hope it works out for you.” She said softly as they approached the office. “Then maybe you’ll finally tell me about this guy. I’m dying to know whoever it is that makes you so crazy.”
He just shrugged as if to say maybe he would tell her. Someday. Maybe.
The day seemed to drag on. Clark published his article before eleven in the morning—Superman and the bus crash.
He checked the comments, refreshing over and over again, but seeing nothing.
He was so antsy by the time five rolled around.
Lois was going to her girlfriend’s for the weekend, leaving Clark with the apartment to himself. He still had two hours before he had to be at Lex’s, and he wanted to use that time wisely.
He took a boiling hot shower, steam filling the bathroom as he scrubbed his entire body. He brushed his teeth, washing off the three cups of coffee he’d had at the office.
Before, he’d only ever shown up at Lex’s as Superman. This was the first time he’d be agonizing over what to wear.
He usually dressed for the weather, despite not feeling it. The early spring air was still cool.
Clark finally chose a button-up shirt and jacket. He combed his hair in the mirror one way before shaking it out and trying again, trying to perfectly find the balance between Superman and Clark.
With still half-an-hour to spare, he put his glasses on and headed out.
The LuthorCorp lobby was empty when Clark stepped inside. He pressed the buzzer by the elevator.
“It’s me—” He said in a slightly sing-songy voice.
“You’re early.” Lex’s voice came over the speaker.
“I brought you a snack.”
“Do you plan on doing that annoying voice the entire time? If so, we’re going to have a problem.”
“No, I’ll stop.”
“Then come up.”
Clark stepped into the elevator, stepping out onto the top floor and knocking on Lex’s door, noting the doorknob had been fixed.
He always saw Lex in his work clothes, button-up shirts, slacks, jackets. He was slightly more casual when he answered the door. His tie was gone, his shirt collar open, exposing skin that drew Clark’s eyes immediately.
His sleeves were rolled up and his shirt tails were untucked. It made Clark feel likely overdressed in comparison.
“I brought you bundt cake.” Clark held out the bag, Lex’s eyes narrowing in suspicion.
“Why?”
“Um, to be nice?” Clark smiled.
Lex eyed him for another second before taking the bag and peering inside. Clark had gotten a plain one with glaze on top just to be safe. Lex nodded in satisfaction.
“We’ll eat this later—” He said, turning to carry it into the kitchen.
Clark followed, biting back another smile at the fact that Lex had said we. Lex went to the fridge to put the cake away. Clark grinned when he heard the jingling of dog tags.
“Hi, Snowball!” Clark leaned down to pet the dog.
“How do you know his name?”
“You told me when I was here, sort of.” Clark said. Lex watched Clark, suspicion in his eyes again.
“He usually barks like crazy at strangers, but he doesn’t seem to mind you.”
“That’s because I’m really good with animals.” Clark said, patting Snowball on the back, his tail wagging. “I think it’s because I grew up on a farm.”
“I should put him in the spare room so he doesn’t disturb us.”
Snowball was still wagging his tail when Lex picked him up and carried him down the hall. Clark glanced around the kitchen, noting the shelf above the stove was empty—last time, there’d been a few bottles of cooking wine.
“All I have is water.”
“Huh?” Clark looked over his shoulder at Lex in the doorway.
“If you want a drink.” Lex stepped back into the kitchen, leaning back into the counter. “All I have is water.”
“Oh, no, I’m fine, thanks.”
“I never drink alcohol.” Lex said, glancing away. “My father was an alcoholic.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.” Clark said softly.”
“What you saw—that was just a momentary lapse in judgement. Before that, I hadn’t drank in years.”
“It’s okay, no judgement, I promise.”
Clark still wasn’t sure what it was that drove Lex to drink, and if it was related to him, but he wasn’t going to ask now, even if part of him was very curious.
“I guess I’ve just been under some stress lately, it doesn’t matter.” Lex still had his head turned, staring at the wall. “I don’t know why drinking seemed like a good idea—it wasn’t.”
“Like I said, no judgement.” Clark said. “We all have vices sometimes, it doesn’t make you weak.”
“Even you?” Lex turned to look at him now.
“Yeah, once after a really stressful day, I bought an entire rotisserie chicken and ate it in the bathtub.”
Lex didn’t laugh, didn’t even crack a smile even when Clark grinned.
“I’m joking. Maybe.” He said. “But, uh, you know what my real vice is.”
The air seemed suddenly tense at the mention of why he was really here. Lex glanced away again, this time Clark noting the tinge on his cheeks, the sound of his heart racing just slightly.
“Follow me, let’s not waste anymore time.”
Clark followed Lex down the hall towards his bedroom. Last time he was here, it wasn’t necessarily messy, but it definitely seemed like Lex had cleaned up since then.
There were new sheets on the bed.
“Before we start, I think there should be some ground rules.” Lex said, closing the door behind them.
“I agree.” Clark nodded. “I was thinking we needed a safe word.”
“A safe word?”
“Yeah, just in case things get a little crazy. You know, for your sake.”
“My sake?” Lex growled softly and Clark tried not to laugh. “Whatever—let’s just go with vanilla cake. Now, my rules—I’m not opposed to some things like spanking and biting, obviously, but I draw the line at slapping or hitting—”
“No, yeah, I absolutely don’t wanna hit you—” Clark assured him. “I’m not into that. Well, I’m not into doing that to someone else—”
Lex nodded in satisfaction.
“Do you have anything you’re completely against?” Lex asked and Clark thought for a moment.
“Not really. I mean, it’s not like you can physically hurt me.”
“Yes, but I still don’t want you to be uncomfortable, that’s not what this is about.”
Clark was very touched by those words, trying not to show that on his face as he thought for a moment.
“I really can’t think of anything.”
“Nothing? Not just physical stuff, but words too. There’s nothing…upsetting that you don’t want me to say?”
Clark thought back to the time Lex had said he should put Clark in a collar and make him a pet, the time Lex had made him cum so hard he couldn’t think, leading Lex to call him nothing but a stupid alien.
Those were some of his favorite memories.
“Nope.” Clark said.
“Very well.” Lex nodded. “If anything does come up, just say the safe word and I’ll stop.”
“Got it.”
Clark took his glasses off and turned to put them on the dresser. He could see Lex watching him in the mirror, their eyes locking in the reflection.
“How exactly does your disguise change your face like that?” Lex asked.
“Magic.” Clark said mysteriously.
Lex rolled his eyes and turned away, beginning to unbutton his shirt. Clark realized then that it was expected that they take their own clothes off.
That made him a little sad. He preferred taking his partner’s clothes off himself, kissing, maybe ripping the buttons off their shirt a little.
Were they going to kiss at all? He was too nervous to ask.
He actually had no idea how this was going to work. Everything felt so formal, like a business arrangement—wasn’t that what Lex had called it before?
But Clark wasn’t put off by that. There was actually something hot about it.
Clark glanced back up into the mirror as Lex dropped his shirt to the floor. He felt his face flush, his heart pounding at the sight of Lex’s lean back muscles.
He began taking his own shirt off, his hands steady despite his racing heart. He dropped his shirt on the floor and then stepped out of his shoes before going for his pants.
It wasn’t as awkward as he would have expected. It was actually sort of enticing, Clark feeling the tension rising as he watched Lex step out of his shoes and drop his pants and underwear in one motion in the mirror.
He’d never seen Lex completely naked, and his body had an instant reaction. He hurried to take the rest of his clothes off, finally stepping out of his pants and underwear and turning to face Lex again.
“You don’t have any issue with me gently manhandling you, do you?” Clark asked.
“I knew you planned on throwing your strength around.” Lex scoffed. “No, I don’t—”
No sooner had Lex said the words did Clark grab Lex and drop him onto the bed as gently as he could before climbing over him.
It was searingly warm, all the spots where their skin touched. Clark stared down at Lex, drinking in the sight of him naked underneath him, wanting to save this memory forever, just in case.
“Do you even know what you’re doing?” Lex asked. “Or do you need me to walk you through it?”
“Oh, I know what I’m doing.” Clark nodded. “First, I gotta make sure you’re really relaxed—you always seem so tense.”
“My life is very stressful. That's why I lost all of my hair—that was a joke.” Lex added when Clark just stared down at him.
“Oh—” Clark chuckled. “Very funny. Well, first, I’m gonna try and destress you—”
“You are very distressing—”
“Hush—” Clark snapped, secretly loving that Lex felt comfortable enough to joke with him. “Now, just relax.”
Lex blinked up at him slowly, Clark already sensing his heart rate slowing just slightly as he relaxed.
Clark put his hands on Lex’s chest, his own heart racing faster at the feel of his skin. He never thought he’d get this chance to touch Lex however he wanted, and he was going to take advantage of it.
He gently stroked his hands over Lex’s chest, down his sides, then up over his shoulders and down his arms.
He was so warm, so human.
Lex’s eyes were closed. Clark took that chance to stare at his face as much as he wanted.
He then moved his hands lower, touching Lex’s lower stomach and hips, watching the way his cock twitched, slowly growing harder.
Clark leaned down and gently licked the tip of Lex’s cock. Lex sighed softly, his hips shifting slightly.
He wrapped his lips around the tip, sticking his tongue out as he slid lower, hearing Lex moan.
“You taste so good—”
He knew he said that almost every time, but it was always true. He also knew that he could get Lex off in record time if he used his best moves, but he was not going to rush this.
He took his time, his mouth slowly sliding up and down Lex’s cock, feeling him growing harder, Clark’s lips stretching around him.
Lex sighed softly, his hips lifting to press himself deeper. As much as Clark loved that, he put one hand on his hips and pressed him down into the bed.
“Be patient.” Clark whispered, pulling back and watching Lex’s cock dripping with his saliva.
“You’re going too slow.” Lex growled softly.
“I like teasing you.” Clark chuckled. “It’s fun, and there’s really nothing you can do about it.”
No matter what Lex did, even if he used some of Clark’s favorite words, he was not going to submit tonight.
It was time Lex remembered who was stronger.
“Besides, you don’t want me to go faster—” Clark stroked over Lex’s thighs. “Unless you want to lose.”
Lex leaned up slightly to stare at him, his eyes narrowed as he silently seemed to be working over those words. He finally laid back down, letting Clark get to work.
Clark knew Lex understood now with no complaints.
Whoever came first lost.
And if Lex didn’t want to face the full strength of Clark’s powers, he better be good.
Clark leaned back down and took Lex in his mouth, savoring the taste, the feel of his cock sliding down his throat.
Lex was breathing faster, Clark tasting precum on his tongue. He reluctantly pulled back, swallowing and looking down to see Lex’s face flushed, his eyes closed.
“Finally, let’s get a move on.” Lex sat up on his elbows and reached into the bedside drawer. He tossed something at Clark and Clark caught the bottle of lube. “I’ll take it from here, relax.” Clark put one hand on Lex’s chest, urging him to lay back down.
Clark felt his heart pounding in excitement as he opened the bottle and poured the lube into one hand. Lex closed his eyes again and Clark took the chance to stare at him again, memorizing this moment.
Clark was breathing fast, sensing Lex doing to the same as Clark reached down, holding Lex’s thigh with one hand and stroking his slick fingers over Lex’s entrance with the other.
He was in awe at the feeling, Lex’s human body heat, the scent of his arousal, the way Clark could feel his heart racing.
“You don’t have to go so slow, I’m not going to break.” Lex said.
“I know what I’m doing.” Clark said, his voice suddenly thick with lust as he slowly pushed a finger inside.
They both moaned at the contact, Lex’s searing heat going straight to where Clark was already hard.
Clark slowly worked his finger inside, stroking against Lex’s walls and feeling him slowly relax.
“More—” Lex moaned.
This time, Clark didn’t protest. He added a second finger, both softly moaning again, Clark feeling Lex stretching against him and already so eager to feel that on his cock.
“You feel so good—” Clark sighed.
“Don’t stop—”
Clark kept going, stroking inside Lex, going deeper until Lex was moaning, pressing back against Clark’s hand.
Clark was breathing faster, leaning over Lex’s body. He thought he might just cum from watching this, and didn’t care if he did.
“God, Lex, you look so good right now. You want me inside you?” Clark asked and Lex nodded. “I wanna hear you say it.”
“Yes, I—I want you inside me, Clark.”
Clark breathed in slowly, willing down the more animalistic part of him that wanted to take over at those words. His hands shook just slightly as he grabbed the bottle of lube and slicked his cock.
“Wait—” Lex sat up on his elbows as Clark leaned over him.
“What’s wrong?”
“Me on top.”
Clark had to take a moment to process those words.
“Do you really think you can handle being on top?” He smirked. “What’s the magic word?”
Clark expected some sarcastic retort. He did not expect Lex to lean in and kiss him. Clark kissed him back, his lips so soft, his taste so human, Lex’s hand soft on his face.
Lex pulled back before Clark could remind himself to memorize everything.
“Please?” Lex asked softly, his hand still on Clark’s jaw.
Clark just nodded, wordlessly laying down on the bed and rolling onto his back. His face was flushed and he could still feel the spot where Lex had touched his face.
He watched as Lex swung one leg over his body, straddling his hips. Clark grabbed Lex’s waist, steadying him. He felt Lex reach down and grab his cock, holding him steady.
“You don’t have to go so slow, I can handle—” Clark’s voice broke into a moan as Lex slid down onto him.
“Oh fuck—” Lex growled.
Clark’s fingers were digging into Lex’s skin as he slid all the way down, both moaning when Clark was fully inside him.
Clark gave him time to adjust, being able to do nothing himself except lay there and breath.
Lex moved on top of him and Clark moaned, the pure pleasure radiating through his whole body.
“Lex—” He moaned. “You feel perfect—”
“Yeah?” Lex’s hands were on his chest, sliding down his stomach. “Gonna make you cum?”
Yes.
No.
He forced himself to hold back, taking a deep breath, gritting his teeth. If he let himself enjoy this too much, think for even a second that Lex was riding him, he was not going to last any longer.
“I’m fine—” Clark said, his voice slightly strained, his hands sliding up Lex’s waist. “What about you? Gonna cum?”
“No—”
“What about now?” Clark rocked his hips, meeting Lex’s downward thrusts.
Lex moaned louder, his nails digging into Clark’s skin, his face flushing. He looked beautiful.
“Is that all you got?” Lex asked through clenched teeth. “Come on, harder—”
“Harder—” Clark dared to go harder, just slightly.
“Come on—fuck me!” Lex growled. “Fuck me like you fucking hate me—”
Clark did not hate Lex. He never did. He never could, not when Lex kissed him like that.
But Clark went faster, lifting his hips and pounding into Lex, hearing him moaning louder. Lex was gripping Clark’s forearms now, Clark’s hands still holding Lex’s waist, holding his body steady as he went harder.
They were both moaning, Clark feeling like he could cum like this, fill Lex up and not care if it meant losing.
“Gonna—cum?” Lex smirked, panting.
“Nah—” Clark smiled, holding back. “What about you? Is this a good spot? What about this?”
He shifted angles until Lex moaned louder, his fingers still digging into Clark’s skin.
He watched the way Lex’s eyes fluttered closed, his face flushed. He decided then that he could not lose, no matter how much he wanted to cum.
He reached with one hand and wrapped it around Lex’s cock, stroking his thumb over the slick wetness that had been steadily leaking from the tip.
Lex let out something between a growl and a moan, the moan growing louder when Clark stroked him.
“How’s that feel?” Clark asked. “Good? Answer me, Lex—”
“Fuck you—”
“No, I’m fucking you, Lex—”
Lex moaned louder. Clark felt the heat surging through his cells like sunlight. He wanted to fall into the pleasure so bad, to cum so hard that he filled Lex up, but he forced himself to hold back and stroke Lex faster.
“Is that—all you got?” Lex asked, his voice shaking.
“Of course not. I’ve been holding back.”
Clark wanted to cum so bad. He tried to hold back, distracting his mind with anything else, but all thought led back to Lex’s body on his, Lex’s cock in his hand, Lex’s mouth on his.
Clark lifted his free hand from Lex’s waist and spanked him on the backside. Lex gasped, his eyes wide in surprise. Clark smirked when he sensed the way Lex’s heart beat faster.
“Don’t—” Lex gasped.
“Why? I thought you said you liked that?”
Clark spanked Lex again, Lex letting out a soft moan in response. Clark kept going, one hand stroking Lex’s cock, the other spanking Lex as he rode him.
It was almost too much for Clark, but he tried to hold back, no longer monitoring the words coming out of his mouth.
“You feel so good—so amazing. You look so perfect on top of me, you’re so good at taking my cock, baby—”
Lex clamped his hand down over Clark’s mouth, their eyes locking. They were both so close, Clark could feel Lex’s cock throbbing in his hand.
“Stop—talking—” Lex panted. “Cum inside me, Superman—”
He wanted to, he wanted to so bad, but he was not going to lose. But Lex was resilient, more so that he could have predicted from any human.
Clark was already touching every part of Lex that he could.
Well.
Clark parted his lips and licked Lex’s hand still clamped over his mouth. A small part of him worried that Lex would yank his hand back in disgust.
Lex gasped, but he did not pull back. His eyes went wide as Clark licked Lex’s palm again, turning his head and sucking one of Lex’s fingers into his mouth.
That did it.
He sucked Lex’s finger, wrapping his tongue around the digit and watching with satisfaction as Lex fell apart.
Lex’s face flushed, his eyes closed, his head falling forward. Clark felt Lex’s cock pulsing in his hands, warm streaks of his seed shooting out onto his stomach.
Clark fell over the edge, muffled moans around the finger still in his mouth, his hips snapping up as he came inside Lex.
There was a blissful moment that they were in sync, both moaning, the sounds echoing through the room.
Clark slowly came down feeling Lex shaking on top of him. He reached up, gently holding him around the waist before he could slump over, Lex’s hand falling from Clark’s mouth.
Clark used the last of his strength to gently roll onto his side, lowering Lex to lay beside him.
They were both still panting. Lex’s eyes were closed, his face tinged pink. Clark watched him for a long moment, catching his own breath.
“You lost.” Clark whispered.
“Shut up.” Lex snapped, his eyes still closed. “That’s because you cheated. You were doing all that stuff to me—”
“Well yeah, I wasn’t just going to lay there just because you were on top.” Clark laughed. “You should ask to be on the bottom next time—”
He paused, realizing what he said. He wasn’t sure he should be implying a next time.
Lex opened his eyes a crack, seeming to contemplate a reply before shifting. For a moment, Clark was afraid he was getting out of bed, but he only rolled over, his back to Clark.
Clark watched him for a long moment, staring at his bare back. There were inches between them now.
He missed when both of his hands were on Lex.
There was a slow sinking in his stomach as the silence stretched on. Maybe Lex wanted him to leave now, but he couldn’t move. He felt frozen, his voice felt fragile in his throat, like it would break if he tried to use it.
“What’s your problem?” Clark asked softly. Like he predicted, his voice shook slightly.
Lex didn’t reply. Clark reached over with one foot, nudging Lex in the back of the leg.
“I’m serious, answer me—”
“We can’t just lay here?” Lex sighed.
“No—”
“You’re ruining the afterglow—”
“Don’t care—”
Lex grumbled, rolling over to face him again, his eyes narrowed.
“What’s my problem?” He asked. “I feel like it should be obvious to you.”
This did not seem to just be about cumming first. Clark stared at him for a moment, his stomach sinking further.
“You’re mad at me.”
“I’m mad at myself.”
“Why? Because we had sex? Because you had sex with someone you hate?” Clark asked, going on when Lex didn’t say anything. “That’s it, right? But why do you hate me so much? Seriously, why? Is it because I’m an alien?”
Lex rolled his eyes before turning over again. Clark nudged Lex’s leg again.
“That’s it, right?”
“Oh, please—”
“Then what? What did I ever do to you? Why do you—”
“I don’t hate you!” Lex snapped, turning his head just slightly to look at Clark over his shoulder. “I know, I might have said that in the past, but I don’t anymore, okay? I guess that’s why I’m mad.”
“What does that mean?” Clark whispered.
“I don’t know.”
“Lex, come on—” Clark nudged his leg again. “Talk to me, please—”
Lex rolled onto his back, staring up at the ceiling in silence for a moment.
“What did I say to you? When I was drunk?”
“Nothing, really. You said you wanted to talk to me, but I didn’t think you were in the right mind to do that, so I put you in your bed.”
“But what did I want to talk about?”
“You don’t remember?”
“No, I remember.”
Clark stared at the side of Lex’s face for a long moment. The only light on in the room was the bedside lamp, casting a golden glow on his skin.
“You said I had a plan to destroy you.” Clark whispered. “I still don’t know what you mean.”
“You have destroyed me.” Lex said. “You—ever since you showed up, you were everywhere. Everyone is always talking about you. It's like the more I tried to ignore you, the more your presence grew in my mind, taking over. And now I’ve had sex with you, so now you’re in my mind forever.”
Clark knew it wasn’t funny. He didn’t mean to laugh, but it just came out.
“I’m not laughing at you, I promise, it’s just—” Clark chuckled. “That doesn’t sound like hate—”
“I said I don’t hate you—”
“I know, I mean it sounds like exactly what I feel for you.”
Lex was watching him out of the corner of his eye, a mix of curiosity and something Clark couldn’t read.
“I told you this when you were drunk, but I guess you don’t remember.” Clark’s heart was pounding. “I have a crush on you, Lex. I always have.”
“Why?” Lex seemed shocked, almost indignant. Clark laughed again.
“I don’t know.” He shrugged. “I just have. I remember the first time I ever saw you—you were on the news and they were talking about when I stopped that reactor from exploding. You were going on and on about how I could have caused the whole city to blow up.”
“I remember that.” Lex nodded.
“Yeah, I remember thinking, I wonder what this guy’s problem is? But I also remember thinking wow, this guy is so hot—”
Lex actually laughed and Clark smiled, loving the sound. Lex stared up at the ceiling for another moment before sighing.
“So, I was right? This was your plan all along? To make me fall for you?”
Hearing those words shifted something in his mind. Forgetting all about the human sweat and semen still on his body as he rolled over on top of Lex, pinning him down, their faces inches apart.
“Did you seriously just say that—”
“Get off, you’re squishing me—”
“Is that better?” Clark floated just slightly, most of his weight off of Lex.
Lex sighed, seeming to be fighting his own amusement and failing. Clark felt so soft at the sight of his smile.
“I’m serious, did you really say you’re falling for me?”
“That’s what you planned, isn’t it?”
“No, this was just very dumb luck.” Clark felt his voice shaking again. “You’re always the one kissing me—can I finally kiss you?”
Lex seemed embarrassed by Clark remarking how he had been the one to kiss him, or maybe it was the question itself that made his face red.
He gave a single nod. Clark leaned down and kissed him.
He took the time to memorize everything about the taste and feel as if it were the last time, though he knew now it wasn’t.
They showered together, Lex stripping the bed sheets off and putting on fresh ones before they got back in bed. Lex let Snowball out of the guestroom and he jumped happily onto the foot of the bed to lay by their feet.
Clark wrapped his arms around Lex from behind. Still naked, he could feel the human warmth where their skin pressed together.
“I haven’t been with anyone in a very long time.” Lex said in a whisper.
“Neither have I.” Clark kissed the back of his neck.
“I’m serious. I haven’t even—before you started showing up, I haven’t even slept with anyone in a while.”
“Well, it didn’t seem to me like you were rusty—”
“Clark—” Lex saying his name like that made him pause. “What I mean is, I’m set in my ways—I’m not used to having anyone around, and I wouldn’t say I’m used to being nice to anyone—but I want to be—”
“I really appreciate that. I get it, if it’s all new for you. I promise to be patient.”
They were both in silence for a while, Clark feeling Lex breathing in his arms.
“Be honest with me—”
“I swear—”
“What made you do it? Show up on my roof and offer to suck me off?”
“That—I don’t know.” Clark chuckled, his face flushing. “Honestly, the next day I couldn’t even believe I did it. I guess that part of my brain that was always thinking about you finally went a little crazy. It was probably the bravest thing I ever did.”
“Even braver than stopping that nuclear reactor?”
“What?” Clark blinked. “Oh, yeah, my only risk there was getting blown up a little bit—that was nothing compared to the possibility of you rejecting me—”
Lex laughed softly, and Clark decided he loved that sound.
They fell asleep for a while, Clark instinctively wrapping his arms around Lex even tighter when he felt him pulling away.
“Clark—hey—” Lex hissed, pulling against Clark’s grip. “I gotta piss—”
“Huh? Oh, sorry—” Clark reluctantly let Lex go, wrapping his arms back around him and pulling him close again as soon as he got back into bed.
“Oh, you’re one of those types.” Lex sighed.
“Cuddly?”
“Clingy.”
“Same thing.” Clark smiled.
He stayed with Lex overnight, drifting in and out of sleep. Whenever he woke up to remember where he was, who he was with, he was almost too elated to go back to sleep.
He stayed awake at some point, just feeling Lex breathing in his arms.
He reluctantly slipped out of bed in the morning, finding his underwear on the floor before going to the kitchen to start breakfast.
Snowball followed him, circling Clark’s feet and begging for scraps of bacon.
“You didn’t have to do this.” Lex stepped into the kitchen wearing silk pajamas. “I could have ordered us something.”
“I like cooking, it’s fun.” Clark smiled, glancing down when eggs spilled off the spatula onto the floor where Snowball happily went for it.
Lex didn’t imply anything about Clark going home after breakfast, not even to get clothes, so Clark stayed in his underwear.
“You really don’t have to do that—” Lex grabbed his wrist when Clark turned on the sink to wash the dishes. “I have someone who comes and cleans.”
“But—”
“If you really want to be helpful, I have an idea of something you can do for me—” Lex smirked, wrapping his arms around Clark’s neck.
“Anything for you.”
Clark pulled him back into the bedroom, his mouth on Lex’s neck. He pulled Lex’s pajamas off so fast that he heard some of the buttons rip off.
“I’m sorry—” He started, pulling back.
But Lex was just staring with wide eyes, his face flushed.
“That was hot—”
Clark couldn’t help but think that a week ago, Lex would have not admitted such a thing. In fact, he probably would have demanded that Clark pay for it.
Clark dove back in, his mouth on Lex’s neck, his chest, letting his teeth sink in and leave marks the way they both loved.
Clark refused to let Lex flip them over this time, staying on top.
He broke into laughter when he felt Lex’s teeth sink into his bare chest as revenge.
“That tickles—”
“I’m biting you as hard as I can—”
“I know, it’s too much, cut it out—” He laughed, putting a hand on Lex’s shoulder and gently pinning him back down on the bed.
“Fuck you—”
“Aww, you’re so cute when you’re so grumpy—” Clark smirked, kissing Lex on the side of the face.
“I can make us dinner, if you want.” Clark said later that evening, opening Lex’s pantry. “But it doesn’t look like you have much.”
“I usually just order stuff, or I have someone who cooks for me.”
“Don’t you ever make anything on your own?”
“Why would I do that when I could just pay someone?”
“Because cooking is an essential life skill.” Clark chuckled. “Didn’t your mother ever teach you that?”
“My mother was addicted to pills.” Lex said. Clark froze, staring at Lex, who just shrugged nonchalantly. “I’m not gonna let you cook for me twice in one day. Is it okay if we go out instead?”
Clark could hardly believe Lex was really taking him out to dinner. His hands shook slightly as he picked his clothes up off the floor.
“Do you have an iron and ironing board?”
“Yes, but I have no clue where they are.” Lex glanced up. “Do I look like I iron my own clothes?”
“Let me guess—you have someone who does that for you?” Clark asked and Lex nodded proudly.
Clark found the iron and ironing board in a closet and got to work ironing his clothes. Lex watched with an almost curious look, as if he’d never paid attention to someone doing such ordinary chores.
He put his freshly ironed clothes back on and looked in the bathroom mirror. He knew better than to ask if Lex had a brush or comb he could borrow, so he made do with just fixing his hair with his fingers.
Lex led the way to the restaurant. Part of him was worried Lex would take him somewhere really fancy with cloth napkins, but as they approached, Clark sighed in slight relief at the sight of one of his favorite places.
“What? You thought I was going to take you to one of those pretentious places with microscopic appetizers?” Lex asked.
“A little, yeah.”
“I hate crap like that. There’s nothing wrong with a good hamburger.”
“I love hamburgers.”
“Who doesn’t?” Lex grabbed his hand as they walked inside.
It was so nice being with Lex in public. Lex blushed, but didn’t protest when Clark held his hand at the table. Even though the place was packed like a usual Saturday night, Clark hardly noticed anyone else.
That was, until they were leaving. Clark stepped outside, his head turning slightly at the too-familiar sound of a camera clicking. He just wasn’t used to hearing it as Clark instead of Superman.
“Great.” Lex grumbled under his breath. “They’re already at it—”
“Did someone just take a picture of us?” Clark asked, hearing the camera click again as Lex took his hand and pulled him along.
“Yep. Sorry.”
“Hey, it’s okay, I’m used to it. Sort of.” Clark shrugged.
Clark didn’t actually think a picture of him and Lex was that big of a deal, but apparently it was. It was already trending online by the time they got back to Lex’s place.
“I told you I haven’t been with anyone in a while, I’m sure they’re all just shocked to see there’s someone who can stand me.” Lex said.
The internet was fast, and Clark knew he had been identified as Lex’s date when he began to get a barrage of texts from Lois.
‘What. The. Fuck.’
‘THAT’S THE GUY YOU’RE WITH????? THAT OBSESSIVE LOSER????’
‘you better explain everything right now.’
‘Dammit Clark I can see you reading this!!!!’
‘There are hickeys on his neck in that picture you fucking animal.’
‘Is the dick really that good that you would fuck that freak!!!???’
Clark stared at that last message, his face red as he tried to figure out how to turn off the read receipts.
Lex leaned over his shoulder and laughed when he read the message.
He stayed at Lex’s that night as well, and not just because he didn’t want to face Lois just yet.
He didn’t want to leave Lex until he had to.
He fell asleep with Lex in his arms, waking up to find the bed empty, Lex’s side cold. He padded quietly through the apartment, but the only sound was Snowball snoring.
Clark didn’t know how he knew where to look, but he put his clothes back on and went to the roof.
There were the faint sounds of the city around them, even at this time of night, as Clark stepped out onto the roof.
Lex leaned his elbows on the ledge, staring out at the night sky. Clark came up behind him.
“How many times did I stay up here, watching you fly by?” Lex asked softly.
“I didn’t know you watched me.” Clark said. “I mean—I saw you up here a lot, but I didn’t know you were looking at me. I was looking at you, but I didn’t think you were looking at me.”
“So, you were spying on me after all?”
“Maybe a little bit.” Clark smiled.
Clark stood beside him, both watching the sky for a while.
Does it bother you that people online are talking about us?” Clark asked.
“No. Most people on the internet are idiots. It’s why I keep my comments turned off—I don’t care what they have to say. What about you? What are you going to tell your friend?”
“The truth. That you seduced me and I had no choice.” Clark said and Lex chuckled softly. “Seriously—I guess I’ll just tell her that you’re not like she thinks. I’ll tell her that I always liked you, even when you were such a jerk. That makes me sound like such a weirdo, doesn’t it?”
“Not as weird as me. I guess I should delete all the stuff about you off my computer.”
“Wait, what stuff?”
“Nothing.” Lex shrugged. “It was just in case Superman did anything suspicious. I saved a few pictures, tracked your location—”
“Wow, you really did have a crush on me!” Clark laughed.
“Whatever.” Lex snapped, his face slightly red. “Come on, it’s cold. I wanna go back to bed.”
“Oh, you want to take me to bed? Ask nicely—”
“Fuck you—”
Clark laughed, taking Lex’s hand as they walked back inside.
