Tongue Tied..?

Chapter 5: I Know Something You Don't...

Summary:

After Adam gossiped to the devilish duo (Nico and Val) about Gabriel's sleeping scandal, the trio takes a victory lap to torture him just for the fun of it. This chapter was an original idea (I lied. some of it was based on the vibe in ep. 99 aka s2 finale) and..yeah. Enjoy!

Notes:

IM BACKKKK AFTER MY HIATUS HEHHEHEHEHE-. alr in all seriousness: Thank you all for all of the love, kudos, and patience you've given while I took a little break (was it little tho??/hj) for myself knowing that I haven't posted fanfics in some time but fret not! I am currently in the process of a big frenzy of fan fiction collection with a couple of close friends but I'll explain that another day 👀. For now, I still will be working on webtoon fanfics such as this revolving around TMN and others to come during my free time. Anywayyy, enough of my rambling, enjoy AND DON'T COME AFTER ME-

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Davina rushed to the restroom, the chilled water waking her up from her morning haze. She groaned, patting her face with a towel before looking square into the bathroom mirror at herself.

"What's wrong with me?" she mumbled, pulling her hair away from her face.

Davina didn't know if something was in the air, but she was losing her firm grip on being on top of everything. What was she doing? Right now, level-headed Davina would be getting ready to lead a meeting, discussing how they would follow pursuit with their operations. Instead, she was lying in bed with her boss, kissing his body until it went numb from delight. She shouldn't be breaking walls like this and playing with fire when she knows how easily she could get burnt. Even then, if she was going to put herself in a position to be in a relationship with him...she needed to be more discreet.

Davina placed the nanny uniform she took from her room, slipping on her button-up.

She really needed to get ahold of herself. Though the house was a mansion, the walls were thin, and word could spread quickly. Regardless of Gabriel reassuring her, she still couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching them, and if the word got out to anyone about what the two were doing, she might as well disappear and never show her face to the earth again.

"No," Davina shook her head. If she was going to keep their relationship a secret, then she shouldn't let the entire situation weigh her down. Besides, she had other problems to deal with rather than sleeping around with Gabriel. If anything, she'd have to get moving and finish her goals for the day before the thought of him crossed her mind again.

She slid on her vest and looked in the mirror once more before mumbling with a lazy smile:

"What the hell have I gotten myself into?"

****

"Okay," Adam began, holding back a snort, "What if it went like this: Oh Davina, how I love being the person that you love. I'm not a good man, but whatever you wish, I'll give it to you."

Nico cackled at Adam's impression of a love-struck Gabriel, before commenting back,

"Don't forget the hopeless call for Davina's name like she's going to change the world for him. I've heard him worry about her too many times I can count. Val, you don't know how lucky you are that you were the last to come back home, rather than having to deal with Gabriel in a whirlpool of anxiety before Davina came."

Val chuckled,

"Oh, I know. I wouldn't want to deal with his lover boy phase for another minute if I was in your case."

"A phase?" Adam laughed, "As long as Davina's here, that's the only name that'll be on his lips."

Val shot back,

"We can tell. In more ways than one. That can explain why they're taking so long..."

Nico mumbled teasingly,

"Oh, speak of the devil..."

Just before they could think of another possibility of what could be taking place, Davina and Gabriel--from opposite sides--waltzed into the kitchen area like nothing happened, failing miserably to act as if they weren't late for the meeting the two of them were in charge of. Nico, Val, and Adam exchanged glances with each other. Something was definitely up...

Davina cleared her throat, breaking the awkward silence in the kitchen before speaking up,

"Sorry for the holdup; let's begin-"

Adam interrupted with a sly grin, "A-bup-bup-bup! Forgive me, Davina, but where exactly were you two? We've been waiting here for almost an hour."

Davina froze, trying the best she could to hold back a blush. Was it really that long when they- "Whatever. Gabriel already thought of an excuse; let's just get it out of the way and continue", she thought.

Gabriel spoke up, "Well, just before the meeting, Davina and I had a bit to discuss and some ideas that took up some time-"

Val smiled,

"Oh, a discussion? Is that what we're calling it now?-"

Nico piggybacked off of Val's thought, "Oh, I'd bet you two were busy-"

Gabriel glared, patience drifting by the second, "And what is that supposed to mean?"

Nico replied cockily, "Oh, nothing. Just appreciating your hard work ethic."

Adam chuckled,

"Gabriel, don't lie to us. No matter how hard you both are trying, it's glaringly obvious that you're hiding something. Honestly, I would've thought that you could keep a secret better."

Davina's soul was begging to leave her body. Still in heavy denial, she replied,

"We aren't hiding anything."

Val chimed in,

"Uh-huh. An hour-long, yet so-called "brief" discussion. Adam's surprisingly right for once. For someone as smart as you, Davina, I would've believed that you'd be better at making excuses. Tell me, how good was he in bed to get caught up for almost an hour?-"

Davina looked as though she was moments away from throwing herself through the nearest window.

Nico almost fell off his chair.

Adam doubled over laughing, "Going right for the million dollar question, are we, Val?"

Gabriel, though sharing a beet red blush with Davina, spoke up once more, trying the best he could to be stern.

"Drop it."

Nico smirked,

"Oh, so you aren't denying? You were sleeping together?"

Davina opened her mouth, wanting to deny their claim again. Nothing came out.

The kitchen fell silent before Val teasingly spoke up once more,

"I'd take that as a yes based on the utter silence and the blush on you guys' faces."

Davina replied, regaining her composure (somewhat)

"Never

mind that. This is an inappropriate topic for us to talk about here, and we are way off subject and schedule-"

Adam shot back,

"Ha! Says the person who arrived an hour late, and no, I believe that this was a subject that needed to get out of the way. Besides, even if you guys weren't an hour late, it was very obvious that you two were in a workplace romance, sex or not."

Silence sat between the five until Adam began to talk again, sneering now.

"So...on a scale of 1-10-"

"ADAM!"

The trio erupted in chaos, leaving the couple in a blushing mess.

An hour later, the two came out of the meeting.

Adam walked past the two, opening his mouth, but both of them shut it down,

"Shut up."

"You got it, your majesties."

Though the meeting had no real things to be proud of, Davina knew one thing for sure:

She and Gabriel will never live this down

From somewhere down the hallway, Adam's voice echoed:

"I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE RATING, BY THE WAY."
