Chapter 7: Chapter 3.5: Dynamics of the tutor and future of the fanfic

Chapter Text

Well, first of all, I promised that I would not make ads, but this would change the fanfic by 40%, so I was obliged to make a mention so that there would be no confusion.

To continue with the story of Pardia and not dwell on events that happen in a canonical way, I have made the following decision, to anticipate the whole part of Rudeus as tutor of Eris but it will be as a summary in chapter 3.5, chapter 4 will start minutes before the "teleportation incident."

To compensate for the events that occur in an accelerated manner, short chapters will emerge after the main chapters (4.5,5.5,6.5, etc.), mostly to go to what would be the true beginning of the "Crisis in Pardia.".

I would remind you that some events that you do not see will be presented in future chapters as memories or some quick summary. .

Thank you for understanding.

I just leave you with chapter 3.5

For the next three years, Rudeus worked

as tutor for a distant relative: Eris Boreas Greyrat.

At first, getting her to take her studies seriously was an almost impossible task due to its violent nature; however, everything changed radically when they both survived a dangerous kidnapping attempt, an event that forged a blind bond of trust between the two and motivated Eris to accept their lessons.

From that moment on, daily life became a mutual benefit.

While Rudeus taught him how to read and use magic, he used his free time to learn swordsmanship thanks to Ghislaine, while using his constant training with Eris to perfect the control and precision of his own mana.

This intense period of growth strengthened their bond so much that Eris ended up developing a deep affection for him.

Her greatest show of affection occurred during her tenth birthday gala, where a nervous Eris fully trusted Rudeus to guide her through a complicated dance in front of the nobility, transforming what was going to be a disaster into the biggest success of her social debut.

Grateful for this and so many other gestures, Eris secretly planned a big surprise for when Rudeus turned ten.

On that day, he handed her the Aqua Heartia staff, an object of the highest quality that, unlike ordinary canes, allowed the mana to be channeled with such purity that it exponentially increased the power of her spells.

The excitement of the celebration was transferred that same night to the intimacy of his room, where the romantic tension between the two almost overflowed. Although Rudeus tried to rush things, they ended up sealing a mature promise: they would wait five more years, until Eris came of age.

On the other hand, during those same years, the situation of the Matchta family slowly improved.

The alleged miracle starring Aqua had generated enough confusion for the Church to decide to stay on the sidelines for a while.

And that time turned out to be exactly what they needed.

Hyoizaburoo was the first to start work.

Thanks to its "Ferbante" Divine Protection, it was able to detect defects in tools, mechanisms and constructions just by observing them carefully.

At first, nobody trusted him too much.

But it was enough for him to find faults in several mills, carriages and irrigation systems for his reputation to begin to grow.

Little by little, the inhabitants of Axel stopped seeing him as a Crimson Demon.

And they started seeing him as useful.

On the other hand, Yuiyui found his own place.

Its ability to generate heat on a constant basis was perfect for everyday tasks.

Bakeries.

Kitchens.

Drying food.

Even during the winter, it helped keep some establishments warm.

It was a simple job.

But as a result, many people began to get to know her.

And eventually to appreciate it.

Over the months, rumors about the dangerous Crimson Demons began to disappear.

Because the neighbors could no longer see demons.

They saw people.

Meanwhile, Megumin continued to grow up surrounded by that new normal.

Although for her, the biggest difference was not the city.

But the new friendships he had gotten.

Kazuma kept showing up constantly.

Sometimes to help.

Sometimes just because.

Aqua also visited her from time to time.

But most of the time, she ended up becoming the problem she intended to solve.

It was also during those years that something incredible happened.

The lesser spirits began to get closer and closer to Kazuma.

Pixies.

Little fairies.

Spirits of different types and natures.

Creatures that normally avoided humans.

Neither Aqua nor Kazuma understood the reason.

The spirits were behaving in an extremely strange way.

The answer ended up coming thanks to Lalatina.

While researching at the Dustiness family library, he found an old book called The Lives of Magical Beings.

It explained that every seven years, around winter, young spirits entered a special stage of their existence.

During that period, they were trying to find a contractor.

Someone to bond with to grow, evolve and increase their power.

However, spiritual contracts were extraordinarily rare events.

Most spirits never managed to form one.

Therefore, everyone was surprised to discover that dozens of spirits seemed to constantly compete for Kazuma's attention.

Perhaps it was due to the strange fate that accompanied him since he was a child.

Maybe the quality of his mana.

Or maybe they just liked his presence.

No one managed to find a definitive answer.

That situation peaked when a particularly weak spirit began to follow him everywhere.

The strangest thing of all was that this spirit had no element.

His intelligence was so limited that he could barely communicate by making small circular motions in the air.

Even so, he never got too far from Kazuma.

Aqua claimed that he was the most useless spirit he had ever seen in his entire life.

After all, even the weakest spirits used to possess some elemental affinity.

Lalatina thought it was adorable.

Megumin said it looked like a small speck of bright dust.

And Kazuma simply ended up resigning himself to his presence.

However, over time, he became increasingly interested in it.

Why was it so persistent?

Why was he still there when all the other spirits came and went?

I had nothing impressive.

It did not seem to be a legendary creature.

It didn't even seem particularly useful.

But that is precisely why it caught his attention.

Finally, after several months, Kazuma made a decision.

And he formed a contract with that little spirit without an attribute.

The election surprised everyone.

There were stronger spirits.

Rarer.

More useful.

But Kazuma decided to bet on the only one that nobody expected absolutely anything about.

Because, for some reason, I was convinced that one day it would become something extraordinary.

On the other hand, Megumin took advantage of the arrival of the spirits to try to impress them with his magical talent.

Surprisingly, one of them agreed to form a contract with her.

The curious thing was that it was an ice spirit.

An affinity completely opposed to the specialty that Megumin wished to develop in the future.

However, a spirit was still a spirit.

And Megumin accepted the contract without hesitation.

Aqua also tried to attract the attention of the spirits.

Unsuccessful.

Lalatina had exactly the same fate.

This caused them both to spend several weeks discussing which of the two was less interesting for spiritual beings.

A discussion whose outcome was never resolved.

Or so they thought.

Because a few weeks later, a little pixie decided to form a contract with Lalatina.

Lalatina spent the rest of the day proudly walking around the Dustiness mansion as the tiny spirit fluttered around her head.

Since that day, Aqua officially became the only member of the group unable to secure a spiritual contract.

A situation that Kazuma took advantage of without the slightest mercy.

For the rest of the year, Aqua became the mereir of her group of friends.

The file of Pardia

Spirit without attribute

Spirits are magical beings that have existed for long periods of time.

Most are born with a definite elemental affinity, allowing them to manipulate fire, water, wind, earth, ice or other elements depending on their nature.

However, there are extremely rare cases of spirits being born without any affinity.

These are known as spirits without attribute.

Contrary to popular belief, they are not weak spirits.

They have simply not yet discovered what is the attribute most compatible with their existence.

As a result, they tend to remain in an incomplete state for centuries.

Spirits without attribute possess the ability to evolve into virtually any existing elemental affinity, but to achieve this, they need an enormous amount of experience, mana and, in many cases, the influence of a contractor.

Kazuma is unaware that spirits need to be given a name to accelerate their growth.

For this reason, their spirit continues to show no obvious signs of evolution.

Even so, he remains with him.

Waiting.

As if he were convinced that one day he will find what he lacks.

Spirit of ice

This spirit originally belonged to the group of magical creatures that tried to form a contract with Kazuma.

However, when he was not elected, he decided to leave the place.

It was then that he perceived something strange.

Megumin.

Unlike the other spirits, she was able to perceive the enormous potential hidden within her before anyone else.

That is why he decided to form a contract immediately.

Only later did he discover a small problem.

Megumin possessed an extremely strong affinity for fire magic.

An affinity practically opposite to his.

Despite this, the contract had already been completed.

Although the compatibility between the two was not perfect, neither seemed particularly concerned about it.

In fact, for days, Megumin began to imagine all kinds of ice-related techniques.

Something I had never considered before.

For the first time, he began to think that magic could be much broader than he imagined.

Pixie

Pixies are one of the most common spiritual species in Pardia.

They are divided into three main categories.

The pixie that formed a contract with Lalatina belongs to the third category.

The weakest.

However, pixies possess a unique ability.

They are able to perceive emotional fragments from the past of the people they are interested in.

When this little pixie looked at Lalatina, he witnessed the most painful experience of his entire life.

That sadness deeply marked the spirit.

And for that reason, he decided to stay by his side.

Simply because she didn't want that girl to feel lonely again.

Magical creatures

Magical creatures linked by spiritual contracts do not usually stay constantly with their contractors.

Most of the time they return to the spiritual plane to conserve energy.

They only manifest physically when they are invoked or when environmental conditions have enough mana to allow their appearance.

For this reason, most people rarely get to see the spirits of another contractor.

However, the emotional bond between the two parties remains active even when they are not physically together.

Both the fairies, pixies and spirits of the lowest category look very similar and similar, if only the 3 species together you would not even notice:

Espiritu
