Chapter Text
Jonghyun later on realises, that Minhyun has an insatiable sex drive.
It wasn’t obvious before but now, Jonghyun realises they see other very often.
They see each other at least five days out of seven every week, and the only reason they see other each other, is to bang, which means they have sex at least four times a week, not counting any multiple rounds on any day.
It only dawns on Jonghyun that they’re fucking like rabbits when Minki starts questioning his whereabouts, which he normally never does because Jonghyun’s life mainly revolves around school, home, and work.
This new information causes Jonghyun to panic. He starts to question himself,
“Aren’t we spending too much time with each other? We’re just fuck buddies, is it unhealthy to be having this much sex? How much have we spent on condoms and lube?”
But his main concern however, is how his feelings for Minhyun can’t seem to go away, no matter how hard he tries. The main reason is probably because they see each other so often.
And Jonghyun reaches a solution.
He starts to slowly stop replying Minhyun’s texts, a little at a time, taking at least a few hours before replying. He doesn’t pick up phone calls as often.
He picks up more shifts at his part time job at the restaurant to occupy himself, arranges more studying sessions with Hyunbin so that he has a legitimate excuse.
But unfortunately, it’s harder to run away in person.
He’s at the library again, tutoring Hyunbin. They’ve been on the same topic for ages and Jonghyun feels a headache coming up.
“Hyung, is it alright to take a five minute break? I’ll run to the vending machine to get coffee.” Hyunbin pushes away the textbook and looks at Jonghyun tiredly.
Hyunbin isn’t the brightest apple in the bunch but Jonghyun knows he’s trying so he shouldn’t get frustrated at the boy. He nods as an acknowledgment and lays his head down on the table as he watches Hyunbin leap out of his seat and out of the door.
After staring into blank space for about 2 minutes, he feels someone settle in the chair beside him. He sits up, turning around only to jump back once he sees Minhyun sitting too close and leaning into Jonghyun’s space.
“Hi.” Jonghyun manages to blurt out a coherent greeting.
“I texted you, two hours ago, but you never replied.”
Jonghyun picks up his phone as sees the notification unopened (on purpose), “Sorry, didn’t see it, I’ve been busy.”
Minhyun leans closer and places a hand on his thigh, “Are you free tonight?”
Jonghyun tries to look nonchalant about the warmth on his thigh and checks his phone, “I don’t think so, I have work later.”
He misses the frown on Minhyun’s face, when he finally turns to look at him.
“Alright then, call me.” He pats his thigh before getting up and returning to a table at the other end of the library, Jonghyun didn’t even realise Minhyun had been here too.
He snaps his face away from Minhyun’s direction when he hears Hyunbin return and settle back into the seat in front of him. Missing a certain someone’s gaze lingering at them.
-
The restaurant is packed today, Jonghyun’s been running out of the kitchen back and forth without a break ever since he started his shift. After a minor accident, his apron has an orange spot he isn’t sure if it’s pasta sauce or pumpkin soup.
He takes an order for a table and turns to go back to the kitchen when he spots someone familiar enter the restaurant.
It’s Minhyun, handsome as always but by his side, there’s a girl clinging to his arm with her perfectly manicured nails. Another waiter leads them into the restaurant and into Jonghyun’s way.
He panics and raises the tray he’s holding to cover his face and races back to the kitchen.
He doesn’t forget to submit the order before he ducks down into a corner to catch his breath.
*Minhyun has a girlfriend?*
He stands up slowly and peeks through the round windows from the kitchen door. He finds their table quickly, recognising his big head from afar. He can’t see Minhyun’s face but the girl has a huge smile plastered on her face. Her hand reaches out to grab his’ on the table.
Minhyun doesn’t pull his hand away, both of it resting on the table.
Jonghyun loosens his tie on the uniform, finding it hard to breathe suddenly.
“Jonghyun-ah, table 5 is wait-“ His manager walks in to the kitchen hurriedly, “Jonghyun-ah, are you okay?”
“I’m sorry, I’m not feeling too well, can I take the rest of the night off?” Jonghyun choked out, hoping his voice doesn’t sound too hoarse.
“Sure sure,” he pats Jonghyun on the back, “get some rest, you don’t look too well.”
He nods before rushing out to the locker room, changing back into his clothes.
He has so many questions, has a lot emotions but he doesn’t know what to feel. Betrayed? Hurt? The only label they have on themselves is friends with benefits. They didn’t explicitly say that what they’re doing has to be exclusive but it’s not right to go see someone else while having a regular booty call. Minhyun can’t do this to him, can’t treat him affectionately, can’t be sweet both in and out of bed, can’t treat him like no one else has done before while not putting the boyfriend label on them.
Jonghyun should regret it. Should regret starting this knowing the consequences, knowing he might get hurt since he gets attached easily. Minhyun is handsome, tall, charming, Jonghyun knows he has a fair share of admirers male and female alike so he didn’t have high hopes in the beginning and thought he was just lucky. But surely Minhyun wouldn’t pick someone as plain and boring as him over all his other potential partners. He wants to hate Minhyun, wants to curse him for leading him on and making him feel like this but he can’t, not when he remembers every small gesture from him, every single one that makes him feel loved and cared for, makes his heart beat faster.
So he tries to forget, he checks his phone for anyone he can call up to take his mind off things.
He sees Hyunbin’s chat, a blue circle at the side indicating an unread message.
“Hyung, are you free tonight? I got extra tickets to a movie :D”
