CHAPTER 4

Bonn, Germany - 2 years later.
You felt your phone vibrating in your coat pocket. You shoved your camera back in your bag and found a bench to sit and read the message.
“You free tonight?” it says.
“Sure? Dinner and a movie? I hear the new Avengers movies is out,” you replied.
“Good luck getting tickets for that movie, but I would settle for dinner with you.”
“Our usual place?”
“See you at 8 pm.”
Smiling to yourself, you got up from the bench and headed towards your car.
You stopped at your tracks as soon as you saw who was leaning against it. You covered your mouth with your hands your eyes wide. Taking a deep breath to compose and centre yourself, you took a step forward and walked closer to your car.
“What are you doing here?” you asked him.
“I came to see the cherry blossom trees,” he replied pointing upwards.
“Tae, no games,” you said sternly.
He smiled and nodded his head. “No games. I promise,” he said.
“So?”
“I came here to see you.”
“How did you even know where I was?”
“Namjoon.”
You rolled your eyes at his reply.
“So you holidaying with your wife and child or are you here on business?”
“I am here alone and as I mentioned, I am here to see you, Y/N.”
“Tae, you have a wife and a child. Whatever it is that you are thinking of, I don’t want to be a part of it.”
“Wife and child?” he asked quizzically.
“Ms Park, or should I say Mrs Kim now and her child, who is actually not your child but you took responsibility for it, remember?” you were getting irritated. “I said no games Tae. I don’t have time for this. I have a date tonight. A date with someone I actually care about.”
“A date with Jungkook? Well, that escalated quicker than I thought.”
“Are you spying on me again Tae? Please, it’s creepy and you need to stop interfering with my life.”
“No,” he said softly. “I did not spy on you. You do know that our parents still talk to each other right?”
You groaned at the thought of your mother gossiping about you.
You heard Taehyung laughing and shot him a look.
“Look, I am not married. Never made it there and I do not have a child. I am still single as always,” he said. “Does that answer your question?”
You stared at him. What did he just say? Not married? What happened?
“Wait, what? The last time I saw you, you were adamant to get married to Ms Park to save your company from going under. What happened?”
“How about you have dinner with me and I will tell you everything you want to know, deal?”
You rolled your eyes at him.
“I can’t tonight Tae. I have a date remember.”
“Pick another night and we,” he pointed to you and himself “can go on a date.”
You bury your face in your hands and sigh loudly.
“Why do you keep doing this to me?” you asked.
“Because I still love you, Y/N. I never stopped loving you.”
You looked at him, shock in your eyes.
“I am not going to force you into doing something that you don’t want to do. I am just giving you...options. You have my number. I will be here until the end of the week. So if you would like to have dinner with me either as a friend or as a date, you know how to get me.”
“I…” was all you could muster.
“It was lovely to see you again, Y/N,” he straightened himself and took a step closer to you. “You have not changed one bit,” he said pushing strands of your hair behind your ears. He kissed you on your cheeks and walked away.
You drove home in a daze. You sat in your car for a while trying to catch your breath and processed what had happened. Looking at your watch you cursed under your breath as you opened the car door and took your belongings from the boot of your car.
“Damn it, Tae. I hate you!” you muttered under your breath. You were already running late for your date with Jungkook.
As you got ready, you heard the low vibration from your phone. A message from Jungkook.
“Saw your message. Don’t worry about being late.”
His messages were always short and sweet.
You sat at the corner of your bed, mobile phone still in your hand, you stared at it. Pushing the home button you keyed in your passcode and opened up a new message.
“Fine. Dinner tomorrow. Be at the Strandhaus at 8. Do you know the place?”
Three dots appeared at the bottom. He was replying to your message.
“I know the place. Can’t wait.”
“Btw, Tae, I love you too.”
He replied with a smiley face.
