Chapter Text
A line of 6 heroes formed on the front of the stage as reporters flung themselves over each other to take pictures of them. They filed behind the table and adjusted their mic’s accordingly.
“Welcome to our first group interview! We are delighted to have all of you here today! I’d like to introduce our heroes, Deku, Shoto, Ground Zero, Red Riot, Ingenium, and Cellophane!” The balding man announced as each hero waved as their name was called, “I will call on you to ask questions, so please, do not shout over each other, and please save flash photography until the end.” The man called on a few reporters, most asking the most basic questions as always, beside the few who asked about recent missions or just simply rumours.
“You, in the blue jacket.” The man called and the reporter stood up.
“Ground Zero! Is it true that you and Red Riot are dating?” He rambled out quickly.
“Why the fuck does it matter? Next question.” Bakugou growled in annoyance, not enjoying being there in the first place. The host called the next interviewer.
“Deku, you have been rumoured to be dating multiple people, would you care to clear up any suspicions of your sexuality?” A woman asked loudly and Deku winced at the noise.
“I haven’t paid attention to those rumors at all, so i can not clear up anything. I am dating who i am dating and we are happy together.” He smiled and the host called the next person.
“Deku, follow up question, you have been rumoured to be gay, and or asexual, could you please somment on that?”
“U-um, im not sure why that is important to be commented on.” He answered, and Bakugou was growling more and more annoyed by the second. After the next question, he’s had enough.
“Cellophane, is it true that you are Bi-sex-”
“Enough!” Bakugou barked out.
“Bakugou, are you alright?” Iida asked from down the table.
“No, why the fuck is everyone so concerened about who we are dating?” He took a breath, “Our personal lives do not belong to you, and you do not have to force us to come out if we aren't ready, if we have to come out at all. That shit is delicate, for a lot of younger people who will probably watch this to see their heroes. This is not how sexuality should be talked about. I’m sick of it!” He slammed his fist on the table, and looked at Kirishima, and asked him quietly if he could announce it, Kirishima shook his head in agreement, smiling proudly, “You want to know my fucking answer to all of your questions? No, i’m not fucking dating Red Riot, we’re engaged, theirs your fucking story. Now stop questioning people about their damn sexuality, and ask us about our jobs, saving your asses. Because its dosent matter who the fuck we love, we get our job done, that’s what matters.” Bakugou flopped back down in his seat and Kirishima grabbed his hand, loving the fact he could now show affection to his fiance.
“Ground Zero is correct,” Iida quipped, “While it is enjoyable trivia to know who we have relations with, or whom we may like, or would like to date. Those things are personal, and should be respected, and allowed to be private until we are ready to share that information, if at all. So as a respectful request, please do not ask us about our sexualities, nor shove camera’s in our faces if you see us out with someone that could possibly be our partner.” He smiled politely, “Our jobs are very public, we understand that. But there are reasons we wait to tell the world somethings.”
“I think it’s safe to stop this interview here.” The host said, “Thank you Ground Zero and Ingenium for your insightful view on sexuality, and congradulations Red Riot and Ground Zero! As a wedding present, we here at the Ochii hotel would like to donate some money to a LGBT+ charity or organization of your choice.” Ground Zero thought for a second and almost immediately spat out an answer.
“Nijiiro Diversity, they promote equality in the workplace, which I respect.” The host nodded and closed up the interview, leading the heroes back off stage.
In the next few months, heroes were popping up with support, and or coming out themselves, happy that people were finally talking about it. This was definitely a step in the right direction.
Note: I wanted to write this one shot for pride month, but with being busy i never had a second to get around to it. I decided to still post it, as pride should not only be celebrated for one month, it should not be something we have to celebrate because we are too afraid to have confidence in it the rest of the year. Being gay or queer dosen’t only happen for a month, we are gay and queer all year long, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. And that needs to be recognized and accepted, and not argued over. We are not broken, or sinners, or satan worshippers, we just love someone else. To anyone struggling with your sexuality, you are not alone, and there are plenty of resources to reach out to if you need to talk, and my inbox is always open.
See you guys next update! - Your favorite bi-sexual disaster
