Chapter Text
The group exited the elevator and headed towards the familiar yellow door. They were surprised to see the door open, and it looked like someone had messed with the lock mechanism as it had scratches and dents in it.
"Jungkook, are you in here?" Jin said, pushing the door open.
"Oh shit," Namjoon said, peeking around Jin to see the horrible state of the apartment.
"J-jin hyung," Jin heard Jungkook say from the living room. The eldest quickly moved across the apartment to find Jungkook sitting on the couch.
"I'm right here, Kook. We're going to help you fix this, I promise," Jin said, sitting beside the younger and pulling him into a hug.
The rest of the group had fanned out across the apartment, accessing the damage. Yoongi and Hoseok cleaned up the kitchen, which wasn't bad. The only thing that had happened in the kitchen was, everything was pulled out of the cupboard; nothing was broken. Jimin and Taehyung started to puzzle the pictures back together with tape while sorting those still intact and those that couldn't be put back together. Namjoon entered the bedroom, knowing Jungkook would be even more broken once he saw the state of his precious computer.
"Jungkook, do you know anyone who might have broken into your apartment and did this?" Jin asks the younger one.
"No, I don't, I don't have any other friends besides you guys," Jungkook said softly, looking up to see Jimin and Taehyung working on fixing his photos. Yoongi and Hoseok come out of the kitchen. Hoseok joins the other two on the floor as Yoongi heads to the bedroom to see what Namjoon is working on.
"Yoongi, what do I do? All of his pictures and work is on here," Namjoon says, looking up at the elder from where he's sitting on the ground looking at the pieces left of Jungkook's computer.
"If some of the internal pieces are still in there unbroken, his computer could be put back together and rebuilt," Yoongi explains, sitting down beside Namjoon. Namjoon and Yoongi pick through the pieces, and Yoongi is happy when he thinks he has all of the components and might save the computer. The two head back out into the living room with a box containing all the computer parts.
"What's that?" Jungkook asks Yoongi and Namjoon after they come out of his bedroom carrying a box.
"It's the pieces of your computer. I have someone whom I'm going to call to see if they can rebuild your computer and save all of your stuff," Yoongi explained.
"Did you find my hard drive?" Jungkook asked softly.
"No, we didn't, but we might have missed it. Do you want to take a look?" Namjoon offers. Jungkook untagged himself from Jin's hug before making his way towards the bedroom. He doesn't even look at the damages done as he moves to crawl under his desk. He comes back with his hard drive that looks untouched.
"Is that it?" Jin asks from where he and Namjoon are standing by the door.
"Yes, it has every picture I've ever taken saved on it," Jungkook says, slipping it into the pocket of his sweatshirt for safekeeping.
"So even if we can't rebuild your computer, all your pictures are safe on there," Namjoon says, just wanting to be sure.
"Yes, they are," Jungkook says, looking around his bedroom to see all of his bedding pulled off his bed. In his bathroom, everything is pulled out of his cabinet onto the floor.
"How about for the night you stay at our apartment. Before we leave, I'll call the police and have them come over. You can head back with the others, and I'll stay here and wait for them," Jin says.
"Okay, that sounds good; thank you for helping," Jungkook says as he moves to pick up his pillow and blanket to take with him. He places his hard drive in his backpack. His backpack holds his laptop and camera that had been with him and not involved in the break-in. Jungkook left with Yoongi, Hoseok, Namjoon, Jimin, and Taehyung as Seokjinpulled out his phone to contact the police.
