Summary
The evolution of trust between Herlock and Mikotoba from ten years apart told through letters over the years and scenes. How raising children can be hard, but through the trust, we hold with each other, it can just be a bit easier. How, throughout ten years, they can still learn to love without being around them.
(or, 5 times Mikotoba and Herlock helped each other find their own kinds of truth, from across the sea. and one time they finally figured out that truth within themselves.)

Setting his bread aside, Yuujin eyed first the sheet of paper, then his friend, wearily. “Whatever are you on about, Holmes?” he asked. Apprehensively, he plucked the letter from Holmes’s hand. “Is this someone requesting your services?”
Holmes leaned forward in his seat. “Read it.”
With a sigh, Yuujin picked up his reading glasses from where they were still resting atop the morning paper, then turned the sheet over.

Summary
Even now, as he watches his partner waltz around his suite just as he’d done when he’d lived here, there’s a sense of rhythm to his movements. A rise and fall as he goes from his desk, to the kitchen, to the door to collect this week's paper and bills that have been shoved through it. A chassé as he approaches the table to pick up his drink, a lilting melody in his voice as he asks his Mikotoba if his beverage has been to his tastes. Even the kiss he presses to his lips – brief, chaste and subtly flavoured with coffee and tobacco – has a certain fluency to it as if choreographed to a piece of music only the detective can hear, before he glides back to his desk and returns to whatever scientific endeavour he’s currently working on.
