Standing near a small grave, a small boy was observing it with an indifferent expression. He was soaked to the bone, rain was not letting up any time soon. Sniffling from the cold, he turned to face an old, ran down car.
“Bastard hung himself without making this month’s payments…” an old, bearded man was behind the wheel. Wearing a tacky suit, glasses and a hat, he looked at the boy.
”Kid… I don’t care if you beg for it or whore yourself out. Have 700,000 yen ready by tomorrow, or I’ll cut your corpse into pieces and sell you.”
With a rattling sound, the car came to life and slowly drove away. The kid remained there for a while, not knowing if a minute or an hour passed.
“I don’t wanna die…” he muttered to himself.

Once they were around the corner and out of sight from the street, Majima slammed his back into a wall, fists balled in his lapels. Kiryu grunted as his head bounced off the rough concrete. He expected a punch to come next, or some smart-mouthed quip, but was entirely unprepared to see Majima staring down at him in anger, yes, but something else, too. Something he’d seen on full display the night before: a sharp, predatory hunger.
“Y’know,” Majima growled, “I got shit t’ do today. I’m a busy fuckin’ man. I got a family t’ run and deals t’ make an’ places t’ fuckin’ be but all I can think about, Kiryu-chan, is you.”
Started as a one shot, spiraled out of control. Follows the Yakuza Kiwami 1 plot for the most part. Mostly canon-compliant, some events have been added, moved, or changed for artistic license. Spoilers for Yakuza Kiwami 1 and some light spoilers for Yakuza 0.

He soon learns his name is Kasuga Ichiban, and he can smell from a mile away that he's yakuza - or was.
He can't risk his real identity being found out, but somehow this frizzy-haired man captivates Nishiki, and slowly but surely his defenses wane the more he learns about him. Under the alias Okada, he tries to find out as much as he can to protect himself, but in the process Ichiban learns about him, too; and before they know it, they've both fallen hard and fast. Will they take this chance?
