Summary
In which Johnny Silverhand is trapped in the cyberspace afterlife and V is hired to bring him back to the land of the living.
---
She takes a deep breath, heavy on the exhale. “Are you familiar with Tartarus, V?”
V scoffs. “Do I look like I live under a rock?” The urban legend has been spread around like a folk tale for as long as she can remember. Tartarus, the blackwall’s sister, tucked away into the oblivion of cyberspace—it’s the place where regular folks would go to rest and where legends would go to live on in eternal glory. But it was just that: a legend.
The woman leans across the desk, eyes boring into V. Instinctively, V leans away.
“What if I told you it was real?”

Summary
The man sways in the crowd, head nodding to either side, eyes half-lidded and dazed, pink lips slightly parted. His fingertips graze along his abdomen slowly as he feels himself up and down, moving wildly. His blond curls have plastered to his forehead, the splotch of pink above his eyebrow covered in iridescent like sweat. He dips his head back, teeth bared to the sky, and Adam’s apple bobbing up and down as he gulps up air.
Eddie’s thoughts are like a pinball machine, dinging off the walls of his skull and bouncing back to hit him in the brain.
Only a few of these thoughts are coherent:
Fuck.
Is love at first sight real?
How is it possible that this room got even hotter?
or
Eddie meets Buck at a nightclub and finds his life forever changed.

Summary
Buck didn’t fall so much as vanish. One moment he was there, framed by collapsing light and shadow, and the next, he was gone—swallowed whole by a roar of splintering concrete and churning dust.
“Buck!” Eddie’s voice cracked as he lurched toward the edge, but a wall of debris surged forward in reply, thick and deafening.
Eddie dropped into a crouch, ducking under a splintered steel beam, edges jagged like shrapnel. He shoved past a stunned paramedic without looking back, lungs burning. Then he was inside—in the wreckage of the building where Buck had disappeared.
His radio buzzed, fractured with static. “Diaz—Diaz, get back here, now—”
Eddie shut it off with a snap of his thumb.
Or; a Seismic Shifts rewrite where the zip-line snaps before Buck can cross.

Summary
“Eddie,” Buck breathes, laughing humorlessly, his voice wet and thick. “If we sat here and-- and went through the list of things I want…” his hands gesture aimlessly. “We’d-- be here all night.”
Eddie nods, catching Buck’s eyes again. “Maybe-- we start with mine, then.”
The space between them feels charged with static, like the second before the thunder finally rumbles.
-----
Eddie’s finally choosing to be better-- finally choosing joy. He just needs a push or two in the right direction, first.

Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Summary
“Oh my god, you’re such a fucking loser,” PJ groaned, falling back on the bed. “And I’m like really attracted to you, which says more about me than it does about you,” she grumbled, covering her face with her hands.
“And what does it say about you?”
PJ removed her hands and rested her weight on her elbows to look at Hazel and found her already looking at her.
“That I’m an even bigger loser,” PJ told her. “It’s fine, though. We can be losers together,” she sighed and laid on her side so that she was facing Hazel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Motivated by not wanting to be the only girl virgin in college, PJ decides to pursue Hazel for real.Bookmarked by Angels365
