“How are you?” Stiles asked, falling onto the couch beside Derek and leaning heavily into him. “How was your day? How’s the book?” He kissed his cheek once. Twice. Then two more times in quick succession.
Derek turned to look at him, Stiles affecting his most innocent expression as he patiently waited for Derek to answer his questions.
Instead of doing so, Derek slowly closed his book, losing his page, and set it on the coffee table in front of them. Then he turned to look at Stiles, leaning back slightly against the arm rest, and crossed his arms.

Stiles folded his hands over his stomach, feeling the man’s lingering touch. No river was able to wash it away.
Stiles was blessed. His womb was a sacred, precious thing, and it was not meant for a man like Gerard. Elders promised him love and fertility, said they saw loving hands holding his big belly and lips upon his skin. They said the gods would send many children his way.
It felt so wrong to not want them now.

When Abraham Smith joins the attached library as an assistant, a painfully shy young man recently off a long-term hospital stay, Yuri finds himself quite attracted to him – though not as attracted to him as Abraham is clearly attracted to Yuri.
Age gap romance (49/31), suicidality and mental health issues discussed throughout, particularly anxiety, some PTSD, past abuse, and some chronic pain and disability stuff. Very Jewish-heavy cast with lots of Jewish jokes, though I should note that Abraham doesn’t consider himself Jewish and is quite uncomfortable with religion in general, as will become clear.
