“...And how was it?” Alastor murmurs, soft.
“Sweet. Warm too, he was still fresh when I licked the knife. Couldn't keep the taste out of my mouth for days, it clung to my throat– made me think of you, again.”
The building heat deep inside him curls, and Vincent just notices his hands have slipped to Alastor's vest – he has them wrapped around that sinful waist, feeling the pulse under his palms. He can feel every shift of Alastor's muscles, everything. It's a delirious feeling that makes him lightheaded.
He gasps. “God– Alastor… Wish I could taste you, too.”
Amidst the numerous research papers and the bonding ritual, Vincent proves to Alastor that he can be good.
Vincent discovers the depths of his own desires and learns to decipher a bit more of Alastor's signs.

Summary
Alastor believed it was going rather well.
“What?” Vincent repeated again - he had such a way with words when he was on air so it was undeniably laughable how quickly it all fell away under pressure. “Alastor, we’ve been dating for two months!”
Like a record scratching, Alastor’s mind came to halt. Every thought of reassurance and affirmation shattered as he was left with that same single word.
“What.”

He refuses to even entertain the thought of giving Jinx away. Silco would rather bleed out than give his daughter over to them. He wishes he could make these councilors feel the same pain he’s felt over the years, and this one especially so. He wishes he could dangle their loved ones by a thread and see if they’d choose them over their duties, their purposes. See if they would be as torn as he is now, see if Councilor Talis would give over the one he loved the most for Piltover-
…Then it strikes him. Councilor Talis, Jayce, has someone he loves.
