Inspired by Human Domestication Guide!
This takes place in a modern setting with "beastkin" (catgirls, doggirls, foxgirls, etc) that have been domesticated and are treated as pets by the humans.
A young fox girl of a rare breed wants nothing but to escape the objectification and be independent like a human. Her plans start to fall apart when she catches the eye of a powerful young woman. She tries to avoid her fate of a cruel and spoiled owner, but it starts to seem hopeless when she realizes just how much her mother needs this. Lets just pray being owned isn't as bad as she thinks it will be...

Summary
Set in GlitchyRobo's Human Domestication Guide setting.
Humanity has been invaded by a precursor race of hypercompetent plant dommes called the Affini, and forcibly given paradise in a post-scarcity culture that heavily prioritizes the care for its protectorates, to the point of drugging and mind-controlling them into a blissful reverie if necessary. For almost everyone this is a vast improvement. All that's required is to give up any silly notions that anyone except for the Affini know what's best for everyone; in many cases the poor things clearly don't.
Chloë Sulla, our protagonist, has been running for too long. Clover Fabaceae, Fourth Bloom has plenty of experience with those who can't slow down. When you finally come face-to-face with the thing you've been trying to avoid all this time, do you have the courage to stop?
This story uses emoji to represent the Affini languge, including the names of some characters. If this is distracting or difficult to follow, most instances of this can be converted to English by using the "Hide Creator's Style" button at the top of this page.
