It all started as a joke at a diplomatic reception.
The Chilean Ambassador’s daughter, wine glass in hand, said: “Okay, hear me out — he’s not the typical handsome type, but there’s something about him that just makes me blush. Maybe it’s how he commands a room without even trying.”
A passing remark. A casual comment.
But it was enough for a group of young children of ambassadors —bored, witty, and slightly fascinated by the mysterious man from the British Government— to decide to form what soon became known, jokingly, as the Mycroft Holmes Club.
The thing is… the joke got out of hand.
