When Eijirou opens his eyes, he realizes that it wasn’t a tree or a stump that he’d come to rest at, but the feet of a man. He rolls over, his hand falling into cool water as his eyes travel up well-worn but cared for grey boots and a red cloak. There are blue pants and above them a scarred, muscular chest. He’s barely holding onto consciousness when his gaze comes to rest on striking crimson eyes. The world around him wavers and dims and he knows he can’t hold on much more. A warm, spicy scent wafts over him, something that’s vaguely familiar, but he just can’t place it. He’s so tired and cold.

Shouta has never been more grateful to live in a rundown part of town as he is right now. The streets are empty; the world around them, dark and deserted. Most of the streetlamps here are broken and those that still work are dim, winking in and out of life. He sticks easily to the shadows, hugging the walls of the tall, brick buildings around them while his blond counterpart saunters down the middle of the sidewalk, completely unashamed at the state he finds himself in.
