Summary
A lot has happened in the last several months of Draco Malfoy’s life. He was outed to the world as an omega, given a laughably lenient sentence for the crimes he committed during the war, survived a suicide attempt, and spent four weeks in a mental health ward. Now, Draco finds himself living under the supervision of his old DADA professor, Remus Lupin, and his estranged cousin, Sirius Black, until the start of his mandatory attendance at Hogwarts for a newly added 8th year. He’s trying to keep his head down, but a growing list of threats from all around him and a quickly evolving relationship with Harry Potter is making that very difficult.

The man shakes his head, but then he puts a hand on his chest. “Knee-key,” he says.
“Knee key?” Joe blinks, baffled.
“Knee-key,” the man repeats.
Something clicks in Joe’s brain. “Oh. Ah—” he scrambles for a translation “—you are called Nicky?” he thinks he asks in Italian.
The man’s face brightens. “Si,” he says, then he unleashes a long stream of Italian that Joe doesn’t come close to comprehending.
“Uh, sorry,” Joe says, shaking his head. He shrugs helplessly. “Mi dispiace, no italiano.”
A failed attempt at outdoor recreation leaves Joe stranded in a mountain cabin. Good thing he has company.
