You want something, you have to give me something in return.” His hand reaches out, still laden in heavy silver rings, just missing all the jewels of a proper, courtly king. He drags at Steve’s lower lip with his thumb in a move that feels condescending, but Steve can’t bring himself to pull away.
“I don’t understand.”
“If you want to make a deal, you need to give me something I want.” He says it slow, voice gravel and smoke. “And I only want one thing you could give me. Your devotion.”
Or, Steve goes into the Upside Down looking for a monster. He's not expecting the one he finds.
