Paul hears on the grapevine (or directly from John) that John has a new love called David. Obviously he’s not going to give John the satisfaction of asking about him, but all he hears is how complete John’s life is with David in it, and how John only wants to share his bed with David from now on. Turns out David is a cat, but Paul doesn’t know that.

Summary
For reasons not explored, John and Paul suddenly find they can’t sleep unless they're near each other. After months of insomnia, they work out the problem during the Abbey Road sessions — and promptly start having the best sleep of their lives. It gives John a bit of whiplash, how easy it is to lose himself in Paul again.

Summary
“Jesus, took you long enough,” John says, adjusting the duffle over his shoulder. “Thought I might be out here til morning at this rate.”
For a second he wonders if he’s drunker than he thought, but no. As far as he can tell, it is still 1980, and he hasn’t seen or so much as spoken to John in ten years.
Or, John comes to stay with Paul in Scotland to ride out the press storm of his divorce to Yoko, and Paul learns to stop running away.
