Top fandom pet peeves:
1. People who can't take any criticism, at all, and respond angrily. Seriously, that's missing the point of fanfiction
2. People who yell "Mary Sue" at female characters they don't like, without understanding the meaning of "Mary Sue" - a character who is so capable and unflawed that they eclipse the entire plot and other cast.
3. Writers who let too much of themselves bleed into a story, making it all about them. This can be shown in their depiction of canon characters or their use of OCs. I want to read a story about Annabeth and Percy, not you and Percy. If you want to write your fantasy, please do it in a notebook.
There are countless other problems in fanfiction, but these are ones I've seen recently. Overall, this is a great community, though, filled with tolerant, helpful, talented people, and I've improved my writing a lot since I entered this world. I'm very happy to be here.
