“Just when I thought we’d seen it all,” Chimney says.

Hen scoffs. “I’ll never stop being surprised when someone finds a new way to be stupid.”

“It’s actually not new,” Buck says, pointer finger up in the way that means they’re in for an infodump. “In 1986, a company released almost 1.5 million balloons over Columbus, Ohio. The streets were clogged with balloons for days and it caused a bunch of car accidents.”

“Why do you know about this?” Harry asks.

“Buck is kind of obsessed with disasters, natural and otherwise,” Eddie says.

    Summary

It started more than a decade ago on Tumblr, back when Connor was a (barely) closeted gay kid with too much internet access and no sense of self-preservation. That was when he first encountered The Scene—the one that sent him to illegal websites so he could watch J’ai tué ma mère. It was the first subtitled movie he ever saw. It made him want to learn French, though that was probably just the excuse he needed to keep watching Xavier Dolan and every other gay arthouse film he could find.

The point is: François Arnaud was Connor’s first celebrity crush.

That’s the kind of thing that sounds charming during a press junket, tossed out with a self-aware smile. Right now, though, it’s doing something far less charming to his body: shortening his breath, accelerating his pulse (and no, it’s not the cigarette).

    Pete longs for a sweetheart.

He doesn’t remember his parents all that well but he knows they were in a deep, all encompassing love. He has faded photographs, letters they wrote each other, bundled up together in a shoebox under his bed. On a good day his Uncle would tell him stories about his parents if he were tipsy and feeling sentimental, the sweet spot he stayed in before he became belligerent and hot tempered. “Pete, my brother looked at your mama look she hung the damn stars in the sky.” He’d told him once. “'My whole world', that’s what he called her.”

Sometimes, Pete will lay in bed and stare up at the ceiling, listening to the snores of his roommate as he lets himself wax poetic. The love of my life could be on this very campus. He would think, biting at his lip to keep from smiling. My whole world could be just around the corner.

    And he was.

or: Pete, a hopeless romantic against all odds, meets the love of his life on an unremarkable Friday night.

    Summary

Will shivered and groaned, curling into the couch like it might magically preserve his body heat, before sheepishly asking, “Does anyone have an extra sweater? I forgot mine.”

“Yeah—Will, no worries—” Lucas started, reaching for his bag, about to pull out the extra hoodie he’d packed for tomorrow. But before he could even unzip the damn thing, Mike literally yanked his own hoodie off and tossed it at Will like it was nothing. Will let out a tiny “oomph” as it landed on him, clearly not expecting it.

“I got it, Lucas,” Mike said, smug as hell. Yeah, no shit, Michael. Lucas just stared. Seriously? If he’d asked Mike for a jacket, it would have involved like…seven passive-aggressive comments. Not whatever the hell this is.

    -

Lucas knows something is going on between Mike and Will, they're not exactly subtle, and he's going to figure this out.
