“Uh. Lucanis?” Taash leans over the dock. “Shouldn’t she have come back up by now?”
Lucanis follows Taash’s gaze to where Rook fell moments ago. He sees no sign of her, no shadow indicating she’s approaching the surface. Just a stream of air bubbles that thins out with each passing moment.
“Mierda!” Lucanis flings his cape to the side and dives off the dock. Cold water hits his face as the surface parts to swallow him up.

After learning that Rook can't swim in the worst way possible, Lucanis takes it upon himself to teach her. She's terrified, but who knows? Maybe there will be a nice hot spring waiting for them at the end of it.
