    Summary

In one of the nigh infinite recurrances, Aglaea ends up hosting a ball in honor of the Chrysos Heirs, in the fashion of the centuries-old, largely forgotten tradition established by the legendary Imperator.

Phainon was meant to be the star of the ball, but a certain sage decides to make an unexpected and dramatic appearance that steals the spotlight. Phainon is fine with this, as long as it means he’ll get to share a dance with Anaxa, and with it the chance to discuss some matters that had gone unsettled between them.

    Summary

Nanus seemed to doubt the thought at first. The boy was just like him — whiny like a puppy, wanting Anaxa’s focus on himself always like an attention-deprived pup. Nanus had even heard Anaxa call him his brightest chimera despite Nanus, the smartest chimera in Amphoreus, existing.

He sighed. Was that not proof that Phainon could handle Anaxa at this state? If he really were as bright as Anaxa put it, he would know what to do to his poor, overworked, passed out professor.

Zoro leans in, his earrings swaying gently, “You still hate me?”
Sanji swallows, going to take a hasty pull off his cigarette before realizing it had burned down to a stub. He flicks it into the ashtray by his elbow and pushes his hair out of his eyes. Finally, he laughs, a humorless exhausted sound, says, “You’re going to hurt.”

    Summary

After passing out in his office one too many times, Anaxagoras is forced into a sabbatical by his mentor, Cerces (for his own good). He only lasts for a week until he's itching to get back to work, only to find out that Cerces has gone on a sabbatical of her own. However, a letter soon arrives from Cerces with the promise of a favor.

There’s a farm she forgot she had that she wishes for him to take check in on. There, meets the local "Deliverer". At first, he's apprehensive about the help. But soon enough, Phainon becomes a staple on his farm and it's not long before seeds are planted and a love begins to bloom on the farm.

    ---

And yet, it is Phainon who comes to mind. The way his eyes would grow big and shine brightly at hearing the news, the way his grin would grow as he lifted Anaxagoras off the ground to spin him around, mindful of the crops growing beneath his feet.

    Summary

“Ah,” Aventurine said, rubbing his arm, “so that’s why they had us refresh all our vaccinations before this trip. We’re not in any danger of falling ill, are we? I’d hate to ruin such a nice vacation.”

“It’s unclear,” Ratio said. Aventurine side-eyed him, looking less relaxed now. But if those folktales had any merit to them at all, “more likely, no.”

They were approaching the town now, inclined turquoise shingles peeking out over the edges of the treeline. It seemed like every building here was overgrown with flowers—flowers burst from the vines on white stucco walls, bouquets hung from the bucket-laden stalls at every corner, and almost all the windows were decorated with boxes abundant with blooms.

“It’s beautiful, but,” he grimaced, voicing Ratio’s thoughts aloud, “a little morbid, isn’t it?”

To a scientist, mythology and fairy tales are simply veneers that warp and obscure the truth. And to a doctor, diseases are problems that can be solved with logic rather than love.
