At some point, Izuku had to stop. Unable to help himself, his fingers loosened around the washcloth and his palm came to rest flat over Katsuki’s chest, right over his heart.
Thump Thump Thump, Katsuki's heart fluttered miraculously beneath his touch. It was a second chance Izuku didn’t deserve. His thumb hovered at the edge of his scar, where his pale, smooth, perfect skin gave way where evil had mercilessly shredded through. Before and after, separated by such an easy line.
He swallowed hard, his throat tightening around a cry, trying to ground himself in the fact that Katsuki was here, alive, that none of those scars had taken his Kacchan away from him. They only created new patterns on the beautiful body that Izuku would wash clean.

He looks baffled. Katsuki would think it was funny if he wasn’t on the verge of breathing fire.
“Are you fucking serious?” The Judge’s cool demeanor drops instantly as he starts laughing. “The fucking - the hero? Deku?”
A growl starts in the back of Katsuki’s throat. Just his luck that the one time he’s forced to be honest about his feelings, this guy thinks it's a fucking joke. Jesus Christ. Katsuki’s life is a joke.
The Judge bends over, fully laughing now. “Oh my god, this is - wow. I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this. Dynamight, you just made this so much more interesting. I can do so much with this.”
The Judge gestures at the guard waiting at the only exit in the room. “You know what to do. Go grab him for me.”
Or, Katsuki and Izuku get taken captive by a villain with a truth quirk. Katsuki is forced to confess his love for Izuku, and Izuku is forced to face what's been in front of him the whole time.

“Kacchan,” Izuku says, pressing the cool tip of his nose into Katsuki’s throat. His lips are cool too, and wet, when they follow. “Do you…do you want—” His fingers press into Katsuki’s waist, and it feels nice, that touch. But Katsuki’s heart is thudding out against his ribcage from inside with enough force to scare him. “Can I…?” Izuku’s hand slides under Katsuki’s shirt, strokes over the small of his back, and then walks down to the waistband of his sweats.
He’s waiting for Katsuki now. But the longer Katsuki thinks about how he needs to answer, the less he’s able to answer, and he’s—Izuku is so hesitant. He’s so careful when he brushes his fingertips over the front of his pants, and Katsuki tenses up in an instant.
“Izuku—fuck, not—not today, I—” He tries to shuffle Izuku back, further away from his lap to give himself space.
Izuku’s face is transparent. So easy to see the surprise and disappointment flash across it before resignation sets in. “Okay,” he whispers, sitting back. His hands are back on Katsuki’s shoulders, and even that feels like too much right now. “Sorry, Kacchan.”

Kacchan was giving him glimpses of what he’d never have: careful touches, falling asleep in loving arms, being loved unconditionally, being seen for who he truly was, and being loved for who he was. And it was killing him.
