Graham stands in front of Damon, holding his arms behind his back. “Do you want to- can we go to your office?” He rocks back and forth on the balls of his feet, nervous.
Damon’s eyebrows raise in surprise. “Now?” Despite the heated gazes, he wasn’t expecting Graham to be so forward. A chill runs down his spine at the prospect of having him again, thinking of everything they haven’t done.
“I can’t stop thinking about you,” Graham says, quiet but growing bolder. “All the time. Please?” His eyes are dark, honing in on the fly of Damon’s slacks. Graham leans forward, his arms still behind his back, stopping himself from reaching out like Damon knows he wants to. Being good.

“Look, you know I don’t regret it, yeah? You know I don’t. We just can’t-” Damon loses the rest of his sentence, choked off when Graham’s soft lips press a kiss to the side of his palm. A warm hand finds its way to his thigh, thumb rubbing in small circles that make him want to shudder in equal parts horror and ecstasy.
Graham leans in, lets Damon’s hand fall to his shoulder. “No one has to know,” he whispers, close enough that Damon feels his breath on his lips. Graham’s trembling, but he looks determined. The hand on Damon’s thigh squeezes, light enough to be a reflex.
Damon admits defeat.

“I just don’t want to have to fail you,” Damon continues. “I don’t like to fail any of my students.” He catches Graham’s gaze again, and Graham is afraid that those blue eyes can see directly into his mind which is currently harboring dirty, dirty thoughts.
“Is there anything I can do?” Graham winces at the implication, not having thought about the words before they left his mouth.
The side of Damon’s mouth lifts in barely-perceptible amusement. “I was going to suggest an alternate assignment, yes.”

Graham’s hands found their way to Damon’s back, hesitantly petting over the sweat-dampened fabric of his button-down. “It’s alright.”
“No, ‘s not,” Damon said, as angrily as he could manage whilst his face was still being smushed. His fingers clenched around the back of Graham’s vest, the lining rustling in his grasp.
“Damon, it’s okay. Look, we’re here now, yeah?” If anyone had asked him earlier that day how he saw his relationship with Damon progressing, he would have scoffed. It was harder to deny how inevitably, destructively entwined the two of them were when Damon was right in front of him.
Or; Graham attends Alex's wedding in the fall of 2002 after leaving the band and finds that Damon is finally quitting heroin. He helps.

Graham feels like a caged animal. He’s always thought that if he were to be reincarnated as something, he’d choose a praying mantis, so he could get killed right after mating. Seems about right, really. The particular feeling of being so desperate he could crawl out of his own skin had gotten worse that one afternoon, after coming face to face with one of his most shameful little weaknesses: that blond lad with the earring and the pretty nose.

"I don't know what I'd do without you," Damon says. "And all your funny little ideas." They stand face-to-face for a moment in comfortable silence. He thinks again of that moment, Damon on his knees saying Let me do this, and the pieces fall into place.
GRAHAM drops to his knees.
DAMON
Wait—GRAHAM doesn't hear. He begins to unbutton DAMON'S cargo pants. DAMON seems to give up on speaking and lets him, stroking at his hair affectionately.
GRAHAM, yanking the pants down impatiently
I want to—
He freezes and looks up at DAMON.DAMON, shrugging apologetically
Sorry.GRAHAM
