It's been a long week. A long fucking week. And Daniel can never remember the rules about when normal Americans are allowed to touch each other, anyway.
Daniel made his way home, opened the doors to his apartment balcony to get a little bit of fresh air into the place, and slept like the dead for ten hours. They don't tell you about this in the recruiting brochures, he thought, and got up to brush his teeth.

Summary
Daniel should have guessed, right from the start, that something was up. Their briefings were usually in the mornings, 9:30 at the latest, and to get called into an emergency session late in the afternoon when there hadn’t been so much as an unscheduled gate activation all day was downright odd. Still, Daniel went in unsuspecting, like a lamb to slaughter.

Summary
Daniel Jackson is not military. Amongst a team of soldiers, his lack of military training sticks out like a sore thumb. Disoriented in battle, Daniel gets hurt. As Jack tends to the injured Daniel, they have a heart to heart about Daniel’s lack of military experience.
Basically there is so much whump opportunity for Daniel as the only one who is not a soldier and I wanted to explore Daniels’ feelings about that, and the relationship between Jack and Daniel as Jack reassures Daniel that he is *not* a burden lol
