Barry hates the Justice League interrogation rooms. They’re always so chilly, and the seats are cheap plastic seemingly manufactured from backaches.
It’s even worse when they’re on the prisoner’s side, in the prisoner’s cuffs, and the most anyone has done to tell them why they’re here is hand them a blood-covered knife, tell them to examine their guilt, then leave them there for three hours(as far as they can tell).
“So, let’s go over the facts. Batman is dead, because someone was able to identify a seam in his neck armor, and stabbed a seven-inch knife into his throat, all before he could throw the batarang in his hand.” Superman lists off. “The knife in question is identical to one which I have seen you, Flash, holding several times. It has your fingerprints on it. You do realize which way the evidence is pointing, right?”
Barry remains impassive. “Diana showed me the knife. It’s a Cold Steel Recon Scout, not a custom one-of-a-kind knife. They make them in factory quantities, and sell them to the general public- literally anyone could have bought one if they have five hundred dollars spare. I hardly see how that’s hard evidence.”

Barry Allen trips on a rock at high speeds on June 14, 2024, age 49 and making their way home from a night patrol.
Jay Garrick wakes up on November 11th, 1965, in a Smallville farmstead he only vaguely remembers purchasing in 1945, age 47 and not looking a day over twenty-five.
Barry Garrick wakes up nestled against their twin brother Eobard on May 15th, 1983, age 8 and best friends with Clark Kent, who lives just down the road.
This is an ordinary occurrence, just as it has been for most of the last two million or so times this sort of thing happened.

It occurs to Barry- would anyone actually notice if they stopped slowing themself down, got up and left and spent a few weeks in speedtime actually doing something productive?
They look around the room. There is no sound, not when sound is currently travelling slower than they are. Clark is intently focused on Bruce’s words, hands folded on the table. Diana is blinking, hands sitting neatly in her lap. Bruce is mid-word, one hand gesturing in front of him. Arthur is staring out the window. Hal has his phone out on the table, the pixels halfway through loading the next frame of what looks like a Google search.
Barry very gently stands up, pushes their chair back and pushes it back in. No one so much as glances in their direction. Bruce is still on the same syllable. Diana is still in the middle of blinking. Hal’s phone is still refreshing the same frame, and not a single pixel has moved.
The answer, very clearly, is no.

Izuku noticed then the phone held loosely in her other hand. His heart clenched. He really shouldn’t worry her. His mom did enough for him already.
“Uh,” he said eloquently. “I got really lost.”
Inko chuckled slightly, half a sob, finally pulling him through the doorway. She closed it gently behind him, careful not to make too loud a sound.

Despite his power, he has never identified his chosen nemesis.
