Single (twice divorced), working, 40-something mom, runner, fitness junkie, college student, and writer who prefers her romance and drama to be in fiction, not real life. There's just no time for that!
YES I:
- Read fan fiction as often, sometimes more often than regular books.
- Take recommendations of fan fiction stories to read, even if they are your own. Feel free to share.
- Generally comment on fics I read, leave kudos, and let you know if I like/love it.
- Forget to comment when I'm completely sucked into a story, but I WILL leave comments somewhere in it.
- Tend not to leave critical comments on stories I don't like. Just because it doesn't jive with me doesn't mean it's not someone else's cup of tea.
- Believe characters tell the story.
NO I:
- Do not go through the time-consuming process of writing, revising, editing, revising, and revising again on my fics that I do on my published works. What's on here is basically rough draft writing, quick and dirty and just for fun.
- Do not completely outline before writing fics. These are more 'go with the flow' with no definitive length. If I'm having fun and have a readership, I may just continue on. Novels must be concise to a degree. Fics allow for writing what story characters want to tell.
- Do not only write romances in fics. I enjoy telling the stories the characters share with me.
