Chapter Text
Being the prince’s personal servant wasn’t a bad thing. Really, it was rather good he could enjoy many privileges that not many people were able to even dream of, he had delicious food on his plate every day, a comfortable bed, an amazing roof over his head, a great garden in which he could just stop thinking, rest, read a book and if the fairy tale like roses weren’t enough he could climb the stairs, get to the tallest tower in the castle and just stare at the ocean for hours. The beautiful glistening waters that held so many mysteries and tales to be told, just thinking about it would make him feel exited, it was like an extra push that would help him end the day.
Being the prince’s servant wasn’t a bad thing, especially when said prince was an amazing young man that even though he had nearly everything he could wish for wasn’t a pampered idiot that believes their fancy last name makes them better that everyone else, he treated everyone fairly like they were at his same level and would help anyone who asks him, an amazing man indeed and a better friend to the man he thought as his right hand even when that was just a servant.
Being the prince’s servant wasn’t a bad thing but still he was just a servant, nothing more, nothing less, a man that would serve his prince, his king till the end of his life, but is not like he could complain, his life was good, he had more that someone his class should wish for, not many servants where treated like actual people by their masters let alone call them friends a yet he was completely sure he could call his master a best friend, it wasn’t a bad thing, it really wasn’t… but still he felt like he needed more, his life was a constant cycle of waking up helping his prince, working around the castle, staring at the sea and falling asleep just to wake up and do it again. It was selfish of him, He knew it and it felt like he wasn’t grateful enough, and he hate it but even so…
And then it happened, he found it the thing that made him feel complete, It came with the gentle dance of the clear waters bathed in the fair light of the sun that painted the clouds pink and orange while it hid to leave place to an expectant moon, next to the white fluffiness of the sea foam that kissed the sand to disappear shortly after leaving a wet spot to prove that it once where there and a loud bark lost with the wind of a dog long forgotten due to the circumstances. He found it, buried on those sparkling chestnut eyes hidden behind light, wet and fluffy hair, boxy smile that made his heart try to run away from his chest every time it was revealed on those gorgeous lips and sun kissed skin. He found it and didn’t want to lose it, he wanted to keep it next to him, he wanted this person by his side for as long as he lived.
However, somehow the world seemed to hate him, and every god was trying to tell him to give up, he wasn’t the one, he wasn’t enough, he should just leave, he would hurt more than help and he knew all of this but he was stupid and obstinate. He didn’t gave up, he thought everything would somehow work out at the end and that person that gave him so much by just existing would be by his side till the end of times, be happy and make him happy.
He was stupid, so so stupid, fairy tales will tell you the story of its prince and princess, from beginning to the great happy ending but they never tell the story of those in the background, they never tell you if everyone else apart from those too main figures lived good so he was sure that light he found was going to go leave him feeling alone and incomplete for the rest of his life. That precious person that came out of nowhere, loud and energetic like the waves that clashed against the base of that Grand castle on the hill but wasn’t going to stay for long, disappearing from his grasp without notice just like sea foam.
