Honest Feelings And Bad Timing Make The Most Complicated Combination

Summary:

“I’m… in love with Yoongi-hyung,” he said quietly, not finding it easy to do so.
Jin sighed. “So that is it.”

A few minutes later, with everyone plus a camera crew present, they found out they would be travelling through Europe for the next ten days.
Worst. Timing. Ever.

Chapter Text

Jungkook had just entered a crisis. He could feel the panic coming, starting as a clenching in his stomach that would become an overall feeling of wrongness unless he acted on it at the moment, instead of bottling it up like he always did. Considering they had been told to reunite in their small dining area in about 40 minutes, he decided to act out of character in hopes of solving the issue that would nag at him endlessly otherwise.

“Hyung,” he called out loud from his bottom bunk bed, expecting a reply but receiving none. “Namjoon-hyung,” he said again, frowning when the silence remained. He sighed and carefully left his bed (he had hit his head way too many times to learn the lesson), turning to peek at the top bed. Namjoon was using his phone, huge headphones encasing his ears. He rolled his eyes and shook the bed frame. “Hyung!”

Namjoon yelled and took his headphones out, looking at Jungkook with wide eyes. “What’s happening?” he asked, alarmed.

“I need to talk to you,” Jungkook replied impatiently. Now that he was sure, he couldn’t wait anymore to talk about it .

Namjoon sighed and unplugged his headphones, putting his phone inside the pocket of his hoodie. “You almost gave me a heart attack, Jungkookie. Let me get down,” he gestured, making Jungkook quickly take a step backwards. “What do you want to talk about?” he asked as he left his bed.

“I’m in love with Yoongi-hyung,” he blurted out, wringing his hands and expecting a response.

Namjoon stared at him with his mouth open, apparently wanting to say something, only to close it and shake his head. “Stay here,” he finally said, walking to the door of their shared room. “You’re asking the completely wrong hyung,” he grumbled before closing the door as he left.

Jungkook sighed and returned to his bed, scooting close to the wall, feeling somehow calmer feeling the wall behind him and the top bunk bed over his head. Not a minute later, he heard some arguing before the door was suddenly opened, a disheveled Jin and Namjoon entering before closing and locking the door once more.

“Yah!” Jin was yelling. “You dragged me out of the shower , what is wrong with you?” he whined. It was only then that Jungkook noticed patches of his skin were wet, his hair was currently dripping water onto the floor and his grey sweater had dark spots on it.

Namjoon shrugged. “Nothing I haven’t seen before,” he said simply. “Besides, I let you put your sweater on,” he noted.

Jin huffed. “Only because our maknae couldn’t see me like that.” With that, he finally turned towards Jungkook, smiling softly at him. “Why are you all the way there, Jungkookie?”

Jungkook shrugged, feigning nonchalance. “I felt safer, I guess. Sorry for interrupting your shower, hyung,” he said.

The oldest shook his head and got closer to sit on the edge of Jungkook’s bed, Namjoon following suit. “Joonie said it was important, don’t worry about the shower,” he reassured him, reaching out to pat his knee. “Now, tell your hyungs what’s up.”

Jungkook looked at them for a few seconds, completely silent. His revelation had caused a sudden storm within him, but if someone would possibly get him, it would be the couple sitting before him.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, preparing. “I’m... in love with Yoongi-hyung,” he said  quietly for the second time that day, not finding it any easier to do so.

Jin sighed. “So that is it,” he simply said. Jungkook was expecting to be ignored or underestimated (not that he believed his hyungs would behave like that with him, but he was a right mess inside, sue him), but his hyung surprised him once more. “Since when? When did you realize it?”

Jungkook didn't think twice before spilling all he had to say. “You know I look up to you all, hyungs, I really do. I’ve been spending so much time with Yoongi-hyung lately and didn’t think anything of it, you know?” Jin nodded at him to continue. “Then over the last month… I’ve noticed I’m acting weird around him, and not even on purpose! I always had a small crush on him but I stopped acting weird around him a long time ago,” he sighed. “Suddenly I’m like I used to be before; I get all self-conscious when we are alone, I blush for the simplest things… I feel great when I’m with him and it sucks when I’m not,” he finished with a grimace. “It’s official, I’m in love with him. What do I do, hyungs?”

Jin smiled in a reassuring manner. “First of all, don’t be that cheesy ever again, you almost made me cringe.” He ignored Jungkook’s protests to continue. “I’m surprised, to be honest,” he admitted. “I didn’t think you liked men, but I guess it makes sense now that I think about it.”

“Actually,” Jungkook said. “I don’t know yet if I like boys, you know? As far as I know I’m just in love with Yoongi-hyung. I don’t think I’ve ever considered liking other guys before.”

“That’s okay too, Jungkook,” Namjoon told him confidently. “You liking most guys or only one doesn’t make your feelings more or less valid. You’re still young, you’ll have time to figure it out if that’s what you want.”

Jin smiled at Namjoon proudly. “He’s totally right,” he spoke to Jungkook. “Now, as the major hyung and one half of the only relationship in this dorm, I see no problem with you being in love, no matter who it was.”

Jungkook laughed a little. “It would be hypocritical if you were against it, hyung.”

Namjoon and him laughed at Jin’s undignified expression before Namjoon spoke as well. “As the leader and the other half of the only relationship in the dorm,” he rolled his eyes as he said this. “I have no problem with it either, and I’m sure none of the rest will have anything bad to say about it.”

Jungkook felt relief for a second before he frowned again. “None except Yoongi-hyung,” he replied.

“You can’t know that, Jungkookie,” Jin said, raising one finger. “For all we know, Yoongi-hyung could be hiding some deep feelings for you.”

Jungkook hated his heart for racing as he heard this, hope filling him so quickly. “But does he?” Both of his hyungs shrugged, making him whine. “Come on! You room with him and you’ve known him for longer,” he accused, pointing at Jin and Namjoon accordingly.

Namjoon quirked an eyebrow. “I room with you and I didn’t know you were in love until you dropped it out of nowhere less than ten minutes ago,” he argued back.

And Jungkook couldn’t exactly fight that logic. “I get it,” he grumbled, pretending he didn’t see their hyungs’ smug expressions after setting him right. “Hyungs, what can I do?” he asked once again.

Jin hummed in thought. “It really depends on what you want, I think.”

“Huh?”

The oldest nodded. “Now you know you’re in love. What are you planning to do about it?” he asked.

“I…” Jungkook blinked. “I hadn’t thought that far,” he confessed. “As soon as I got to the love part I panicked.”

Namjoon laughed at that. “We understand,” he assured him. “But think about it now. Do you plan on pining on Yoongi-hyung until you eventually move on?”

Jungkook winced. “That sounds sad and painful, hell no.”

“Language,” Jin admonished him. “Another option could be confessing your feelings to him. What do you have to lose?”

“My confidence, my friendship with hyung, to start with,” he quickly answered to that one. He really hadn’t thought about it, had he? The options Jin and Namjoon presented to him seemed to be too extreme in their own way. He pondered for a few moments before it came to him. “What if I try to find out if he likes me that way first?” he said. “If he does, then I’ll confess. If he doesn’t, then I’ll have to try and move on.”

His two hyungs looked at each other for a couple of seconds before nodding towards him. “Sounds like a plan,” Namjoon agreed. “We have some free days scheduled, you can use the free time to work on that, or be on your own if you want, right?”

Jungkook got giddy at the prospect of spending time away from the attention of the cameras, dealing with his feelings at his own rate, hopefully taking action before they went back to their busy schedule. “Right. That’s what I’ll do then,” he decided.

A few minutes later, with everyone plus a camera crew present, Jungkook knew his plan was about to be changed. This made him not scream with joy when they found out they would be travelling through Europe for the next ten days. Watching Yoongi smile so wide at it, though; well, that almost made him cheer up as well.

As soon as they were told to pack, Jungkook rushed to his bedroom, using the few precious seconds without a camera to curse under his breath. “Damn it, why now?” He kept walking, loudly complaining when he finally reached his bedroom. “Whatever,” he said. “I don’t know what to pack.”

He let himself fall backwards towards the mattress in frustration, barely avoiding to yell in pain when his head smacked against the wood of the top bunk bed, taking a couple of seconds to let his pain out in a hiss before starting to pack, ruined plans and everything, because he knew he was so indecisive he would need the whole 50 minutes they had been given to pack his essentials.

Following Namjoon’s advice, he tried to pack mostly dark clothes, although some white clothes managed to sneak in - it wouldn’t be his signature look otherwise. He complained to his roommate in hushed whispers.

“The plan is ruined,” he grunted as he found hoodies to take with him.

Namjoon huffed, carelessly adding clothes to his suitcase. “Not necessarily.”

“We’re going to be surrounded by cameras 24/7,” he pointed out.

“I’m sure you can find some time regardless,” Namjoon replied. “Out of hours of recording only some minutes are always showed.”

Namjoon was right, again. Jungkook didn’t bothered saying so, instead focusing on finding his camera. “Camera, where’s the camera?” he mused, making sure it worked before packing it as well. Taking pictures would be a sure way to spend the time.

After packing, Jungkook decided to change into a dark blue jumpsuit, planning ahead for the possible cold in Bergen, their first stop. He felt a little weird after noticing everyone else was wearing ‘normal’ clothes, and was about to turn around and change again when he ran into Yoongi amongst the chaos.

“Hyung!” he exclaimed, surprised.

Yoongi looked at him and smiled. “Ah, Jungkook-ah. Ready yet?”

“Uhm, not really,” he answered, hiding his hands in his pockets to avoid moving them like a maniac. “I went to change and packed my camera, what about you?”

Yoongi scratched the back of his head, right underneath his white cap. “I’m done, just packing some medicines in case you all end up falling sick.”

Jungkook laughed lightly. “What a way to jinx it, hyung. If any of us falls sicks I’m blaming you completely.” He only laughed more when Yoongi just shrugged in response. “Uh,” he said. “I’ll leave you, I have to go change again,” he pointed behind him with his thumb.

“Wait, what do you mean?” Yoongi exclaimed, looking up and down Jungkook’s attire. “This is good,” he complimented with a big smile. “I like this,” he gestured towards the whole outfit with a nod.

Jungkook really hoped the dark lighting in the hallway hid the blush on his cheeks. “T-Thank you, hyung,” he murmured. “Don’t you think I need to change, then?”

Yoongi shook his head. “Nah, you do you kid. Don’t you dare wear something else, you hear me?” he teasingly warned, placing one hand on Jungkook’s shoulder.

The younger swallowed and nodded with a smile, watching Yoongi leave to continue packing, taking a moment to compose himself before continuing as well. The jumpsuit might not be that bad after all, all things considered. Jungkook decided to keep it on, and if anyone asked, his choice hadn’t been influenced by anyone else.

After everyone was packed and a slightly gloomy session of goodbyes with Taehyung, the crew started walking them to the vans that would take them to the airport. Jungkook was walking next to Yoongi, but he suddenly stopped to tie his timbs (and let another member enter the van instead of him), before getting on the remaining van.

He did a basic research on Bergen and spent the rest of the trip listening to Jimin and Hoseok talk about the things they would do in Europe while Jungkook himself wondered how exactly would he figure out if Yoongi liked him back or not. Worst. Timing. Ever.

Chapter Text

They arrived at the airport and got down from the vans, from that moment on they were on their own, kinda , they still had the camera crew with them. They had to figure out how to do the check-in, for this Jungkook trusted his hyungs, they always managed to figure things out, and they did.

They were in the waiting room for a while until their flight was announced; Jungkook was glad to have Jimin as his seat partner; on the other hand, he was slightly uneasy because Yoongi was next to him across the aisle. Jungkook was hyper-aware of his presence, he wasn’t sure if he’d get any asleep; telling how he felt about Yoongi to Jin and Namjoon and coming up with the plan of figuring out whether Yoongi felt the same or not had him on his nerves. As soon as the plane took off the lights were turned off. It was quiet, and Jungkook figured it’d be wise to sleep, but he couldn’t resist the need to look at Yoongi, he was probably asleep, his eyes were closed; Jungkook could stare at Yoongi forever and live in peace.

“What do you want, kid?” Jungkook was surprised to hear Yoongi’s voice, “I can feel you staring at me, I can’t sleep if you’re staring at me, so what do you want?” Yoongi’s voice sounded both annoyed and soft.

What was Jungkook supposed to reply? He’d had to give a lame excuse. “I’m sorry hyung, I was wondering if you could lend me your earphones?” Jungkook hoped Yoongi missed the way Jungkook’s voice went higher.

“What? Don’t tell me you forgot…? Never mind, here…” Yoongi went through his pockets and handed Jungkook his earphones. “There, now, if you don’t mind I’m gonna sleep.” Yoongi closed his eyes and crossed his arms. Jungkook stared at the earphones in his hand and he decided he might as well use them, so he plugged them to his phone and played music. He closed his eyes and hoped to get some sleep.

When Jungkook woke up there was daylight outside, the pilot announced something but Jungkook couldn’t understand what he said, but after a couple of minutes they plane began to descend. They waited for a while before their flight to Norway was announced. Jungkook still had Yoongi’s earphones, he wondered whether he should return them or wait till they arrived. He didn’t have time to decide since their flight was announced, they started walking and Jungkook decided to walk beside Yoongi. No words were said; apparently Jungkook’s brain could not think of something to say in front of Yoongi.

“Jungkook, what are you listening to?” Jungkook decided to risk it and he put an earbud in Yoongi’s ear. Yoongi seemed surprised, but he just kept walking. “Not my style.” That’s all Yoongi said before he returned the earbud. Jungkook didn’t know what to say so he just walked faster, leaving Yoongi behind.

A couple of hours later they arrived to Norway and started walking. Jimin had forgotten his suitcase in the bus, what a genius! Jungkook was taking photographs here and there, he looked at Yoongi and he was doing the same. Jungkook thought they could show each other what they captured later, maybe get some quality time with him could help him figure out Yoongi’s feelings. They finally arrived to a restaurant where they ate and waited for Jimin, who had gone to get his suitcase. When Jimin returned, they went to explore a little; to Jungkook’s dismay, Yoongi wanted fish cake and so did Hobi, so the two of them went and looked for it. Before he could think of what to do, Namjoon asked him to go shopping with him, and he gladly accepted.

They walked in silence for a while before Namjoon spoke, “How’s it going?”

Jungkook looked at Namjoon, “I’d say there’s not much to say, Yoongi hyung is Yoongi hyung, I can’t tell what he’s thinking…”

Namjoon smiled at Jungkook’s reply “Hang in there, he’s not that hard to read…”

Jungkook almost laughed at Namjoon’s reply, “That’s easy for you to say, you’ve known him longer than me…”

This time Namjoon wrapped an arm around his shoulders, “Maybe, but you know him as well, just give it time” With that they stopped talking, the stores were all closed so they couldn’t shop, but at least now Jungkook felt encouraged by Namjoon’s words.

They went back and took a bus to get to the place that’d be their home while they were in Bergen; said place was fairly nice: it had a kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and laundry room and 3 bedrooms, which meant they’d have to share the room with someone, this made Jungkook both excited and terrified, there was a probability that he’d share the bed with Yoongi…

After exploring the apartment Jungkook felt the need to shower, thankfully his hyungs allowed him to shower first. Jungkook felt fresh and clean, Namjoon and Jin where nowhere to be seen, he found out they had gone to buy groceries, the couple had taken the opportunity to spend time alone, clever boys .

Since there was nothing to do he flopped down on the couch and did nothing. He got lost in thought when a body flopped down next to him, it was Yoongi. Jungkook felt his heart skip a beat at the sight of a fresh out of the shower Yoongi, bare face and wet hair. Yes, Jungkook had seen Yoongi like this before, but before he wasn’t in love with him, or at least he wasn’t aware, and the sight was doing strange things to him. Luckily to Jungkook, Jin and Namjoon returned from the store right then, which meant they now had to cook their dinner. Yoongi got up and went to the kitchen to help, Jungkook decided to busy himself by exploring the laundry room. Staring at Yoongi wasn’t doing any good to him.

While the hyungs were cooking in the kitchen, Jungkook noticed the camera crew kept their distance from them, maybe the cameras were sensitive to the heat; he made a mental note of that.

After failing to get the washing machine to work Jungkook decided to risk it and try to annoy/talk with his hyungs (Yoongi), so he approached the kitchen, “Yoongi hyung, Yoongi hyung, what are you making?” Jungkook knew this was a desperate attempt, but hey, it was worth the try

“Jungkook-ah, what are you doing? This is a small kitchen...” Yoongi looked at Jungkook, and for a split second, Jungkook could swear Yoongi’s expression softened, this was too much for his tender heart, so he returned to struggle with the washing machine.

When the food was ready, everyone gathered to eat. This.was.his.coming.of.age.party. Cake and a candle, Jungkook had to admit this was freaking great. Except for the part where they started teasing about who’d kiss him, and the part where Yoongi remained awfully quiet. Yeah, that was awkward, and all Jungkook could do was wait for them to finish, and he definitely wasn’t over analyzing Yoongi’s silence.

After they were done messing with Jungkook they cleaned up; it was time to decide who’d be sharing the rooms.

Jungkook was certainly the luckiest man alive, Yoongi and he had gotten a room together and they even hugged; as soon as Jungkook heard they’d be roommates something overtook him and he hugged Yoongi, who surprisingly hugged him back, at that moment Jungkook felt elevated.

Jin and Namjoon got a room together, Jin reacted as if he was annoyed by that, but everyone knew better, the pair enjoyed each other's company…

After the room distribution, they stayed awake a while longer fooling around, except for Yoongi, who had said was too tired to stay awake any longer. Jungkook could have tried to get him to stay, but he knew better, Yoongi looked tired.

Jungkook somehow had fallen asleep in the sofa, as well as Jimin and Namjoon, he woke up in the middle of the night and heard footsteps approaching, Jungkook was somewhere between awake and asleep when he felt someone’s lips on his forehead, “Welcome to adulthood Jungkook-ah” Jungkook’s half asleep brain wasn’t sure if what just had happened was real, and if that had been Yoongi.

The next morning Jungkook opened his eyes and for a brief moment he forgot where he was, and then he remembered. Bergen. Norway. Couch. Right, he looked around and Namjoon was still sleeping, he touched his forehead and remembered the dream where Yoongi had kissed his forehead, because it had been a dream, right? He got up and walked to the kitchen, he was hungry.

The camera crew let them know they’d be watching the parade so they went downstairs, Jungkook noticed Yoongi was the last to exit the building. They didn’t talk when they were inside, Jungkook feared he might do something embarrassing if he talked to him after the dream he had had, so he did his very best at avoiding eye contact, but he did notice Yoongi looked tired. Hadn’t he gone to bed before them?

After the parade, the camera crew told them they’d be doing sightseeing; they also mentioned  that Yoongi wouldn’t go with them, he was too tired and needed sleep, so they spared him for the day. After all, they were on a holiday. Jungkook thought it was weird, but who was he to say anything.

The five of them went on with their day and went sightseeing, Jungkook was simply enjoying their time together, and to add to a good day, Tae had finally arrived, yay!

When they returned from sightseeing, Jungkook was excited to show Yoongi the photos he had taken, Jungkook assumed Yoongi would still be in their room, so he went and quietly entered the room, Yoongi was sleeping in the bed, the sight of a sleeping Yoongi did something strange to his heart, he looked harmless and ethereal. He left the room without waking him up and went to the living room with everyone else.

Yoongi joined them after he woke up and he just laid in the couch, there was a piano in the living room and Tae decided to play it, Jungkook knew he only knew small parts from a couple of songs, so he wasn’t so surprised when he played the wedding march, and he went and implied it was meant for Namjoon and Jin, their reaction was hilarious, Namjoon remained unbothered but Jin turned impossibly red, this pair was made for each other.

After dinner, the boys got ready to go to bed and now that Tae was with them Jungkook would have to sleep with Yoongi, which he had refused to think about, because that dream where Yoongi kissed his forehead had felt too real, and they were about to share a bed.

Yoongi was the first one to go to their room, Jungkook was too nervous to go in immediately so he waited; too sleepy to wait any longer Jungkook went inside the bedroom, Yoongi seemed to be sleeping in a fetal position, not invading Jungkook’s side, so he walked towards the bed and carefully laid next to Yoongi, “Jungkook-ah, what on earth were you doing?” Yoongi turned around and stared at Jungkook, Jungkook was at lost, he felt like a deer caught in the headlights, “Uh, I… I’m sorry hyung, I was just… I was reading webtoons on my phone…?” Yup, Jungkook was terrible at lying, especially to Yoongi, “You were what? Aah well, nevermind. Just go to sleep…” Yoongi closed his eyes and moved a little to be more comfortable, apparently ignorant of a shocked Jungkook. Jungkook just stared at the ceiling, and prayed to whoever was listening, to allow him to get some sleep and not lose his cool, and what was more, he asked for Yoongi to feel the same way.

Chapter Text

Jungkook woke up with his face inches away from Yoongi’s. He was calm for a couple of seconds before the fact sunk in and tried to move his body away, stopping when he felt a pressure over his body. Why was everything so confusing? He had just woken up! He took a few seconds to breath in deeply and calm his thoughts along with his racing heart before analyzing the situation he was really in.

His own tendency to sleep on his back with his arms behind his head had somehow resulted on Yoongi maybe thinking he was a sturdy pillow, since he was being currently hugged by him, still curled up, one arm firmly encasing Jungkook’s waist while his head rested over his chest.

Jungkook willed himself to calm down. The last thing he needed was to wake Yoongi up with the sped up pace of his heart or the sudden heat slowly surrounding his body.

This was far from being the first time they had slept next to one another, but this time felt different. They were completely alone. There weren't other hyungs around to make Jungkook aware of his surroundings. It was just Yoongi and him, sleeping and basically cuddling on the same bed. Jungkook wasn't freaking out, he really wasn't, but still; he needed to get out of that situation as soon as possible.

He started moving slowly, trying to disentangle himself from Yoongi's surprisingly firm arms and out of the bed, but the movement made his hyung shift in his sleep, ending in a pretty unfortunate situation. Jungkook watched on with dread as Yoongi rearranged his whole body to hug Jungkook's body even tighter than before. His head got closer to Jungkook's neck, his breathing hot on his neck. A venturesome leg was added to the mix, Yoongi getting one of his thin legs over and between Jungkook's thighs. And the final straw; the arm that had been around his waist slowly descended, until it ended inches away from Jungkook's crotch area.

And Jungkook had barely stopped being a teenager; no one could blame him for what happened next.

His body felt on fire all of a sudden, the warmth of Yoongi's body being both a pleasure and a torture to him. He felt his cheeks flush, only for them to lose all color when Jungkook felt the familiar straining of a certain lower body part coming to life.

The room now felt more quiet than before, even if the only thing that had changed was the way Jungkook breathed. Unconsciously, his breath quickened and each exhale became a low pant, mentally asking to whoever that might hear him what he did to deserve being in that mortifying situation.

Perhaps this could be an exercise on stamina and holding on, he considered, starting to plan a strategy to slowly lose his bad-timed erection before Yoongi woke up. He started thinking of bad things, disgusting things, and he felt like maybe he could make it.

All strategies went down the drain, however, when Yoongi's arm lowered some more, finally and inevitably grazing Jungkook's member, making him let out a quite loud yell - and thank goodness it hadn't been a moan - that actually managed to wake Yoongi up.

Yoongi slowly stirred, pulling away from Jungkook and stretching his arms above his head with a wide yawn. "I feel exhausted," he groaned, hearing a bone on his shoulder pop as he stretched. "I don't know if I- hey, kid, where are you going?"

But Jungkook gave him no response as he jumped out of bed and ran out of the bedroom, making sure that Yoongi wouldn't see the bulge under his pants. He arrived to the safety of the bathroom and quickly stripped of his pajamas, opening the shower faucet. He was overheated and embarrassed, he might as well start the day super early for once.

By the time Jungkook exited his admittedly long shower, he still felt dead on his feet; his emotions draining energy from him so early in the morning. The rest of his hyungs were no better from what he could see; wide yawns and moving around with squinting eyes. They were told to prepare for their outing to the fjords, and everyone started moving for real this time. Jungkook (un)fortunately didn't have time to even face Yoongi.

Things were calmer once they boarded the ferry; everyone mostly talking with their seat mates, which in Jungkook's case meant talking lots with Taehyung and Jimin. He had certainly missed Taehyung the single day they spent apart, and he was sure the rest felt the same about it. This is why he didn't protest when Taehyung decided to rest his head on his shoulder. He simply ignored it, looking down at his phone and listening to Jimin chatter away until he heard a sigh right in front of him. Instinctively, he looked up and felt like he had been frozen.

Yoongi was glaring at them, completely ignoring Hoseok for the moment. Jungkook frowned and looked at his hyung’s eyes for a second before the other lowered his gaze to now glare at his phone. Jungkook stared some more, giving up when Yoongi didn't stop staring aggressively at his phone screen. He went back to pay attention to Taehyung, making small talk and stupid jokes that eventually pulled a laugh out of him. He quickly turned towards Yoongi to share the joke, only to remain quiet when he found Yoongi's intense gaze fixed on him - on them? And why exactly was he frowning?

Taehyung seemed to catch it too, and he wasn't afraid to speak up. "What's the matter, hyung?" he cheerily asked, still in a good mood after the ridiculous joke he had shared.

Yoongi looked at him, and then directly at Jungkook's eyes, before huffing and shaking his head. "You're being too loud," he grumbled, returning his gaze to his phone. "It's annoying."

Jungkook frowned in confusion. Taehyung and himself tended to be annoying, this was no longer a secret nor a surprising fact; because of this, all of the members had long ago lost the fear of tell them off when they got to be too much. And even with that, Yoongi had never acted this way before. His way of dealing with annoying maknaes was usually plugging his earphones or headphones in and ignoring them for the rest of the day (or as much part of it as possible).

Maybe this time it had been too much? Jungkook bit his lip, worriedly thinking about it before realizing thinking would get him nowhere. He suddenly stood up, ignoring Taehyung's indignant "hey!" at losing his temporary human pillow.

"I'm going to the bathroom," he announced, before walking away. He passed next to his hyungs, but they appeared to be in the middle of a conversation so he didn’t bother stopping before reaching the deck. The fresh air quickly cleared his head, but Jungkook decided to stay there for a little longer. He looked out to the landscape and sighed, wishing he had brought his camera with him - but he was supposed to be in the bathroom, wasn’t he?

“Hey, Jungkook-ah, are you alright?”

Jungkook turned to find his eldest hyung approaching him. He smiled weakly and shook his head. “Needed to clear my head a bit, I think. They think I’m in the bathroom,” he rolled his eyes.

Jin laughed and stood next to him, both of them looking out to the water. “We saw you pass by, you should have stopped to say hi.”

The younger shrugged. “You were talking, I didn’t want to intrude, hyung.”

“Yah, you’re never intruding, okay?” Jin told him. “We were just taking advantage of being really alone to talk about some stuff, but that can wait to another time. Come on, tell your hyung what’s wrong.”

Jungkook blushed at what he was about to say but squared his shoulders and spoke. “Last night I slept in bed with Yoongi-hyung and when I woke up he…” he cleared his throat. “He was all around me, you know?”

“Ha!” Jin laughed, clapping once. “I know! Yoongi tends to hug whatever is close to him when he sleeps,” he confided in. “I once saw him sleeping hugging his own leg like it was a stuffed toy or something.”

Jungkook smiled while imagining what that must have looked like, and then continued. “Anyway, I tried to get away, because I was nervous and… hyung!” he whined when Jin started ‘aww’ing at him.

“Sorry, continue.”

“When I tried to pull back he held me tighter and…” his face couldn’t become redder even if he tried. “His hand ended up touching… down there.”

Jin gasped and gripped Jungkook’s forearm, turning to face him directly. “What was his reaction?”

“You think I stayed to see his reaction?” he exclaimed in response. “As soon as he woke up I ran away. I don’t think he noticed…”

“Your situation? ” Jin wiggled his eyebrows.

“Hyung, I swear…”

“Yah, I’m just joking. How did you feel after that?” Jin’s faced now showed nothing but concern for Jungkook.

“Embarrassed, mostly. And I guess… afraid,” he admitted.

Jin tilted his head. “Afraid of what?”

Jungkook shrugged. “I’m almost sure he didn’t saw, but… what if he did? He must think I’m weird, or… maybe he came to the right conclusion and now he knows I have feelings for him. And just now, he was acting all weird and I don’t know how to deal with it if he already knows. Somehow in my mind, if he was to find out it would be me confessing and not finding out through something that embarrassing,” he exhaled roughly at the end, unused to speaking so much continuously.

Jin hummed and crossed his arms. “I think if Yoongi had noticed something he would have at least told Hoseok or Joonie about it, so I think you’re safe.” Jungkook unconsciously let out a sigh of relief. “But, Jungkookie,” Jin called for his attention. “Even if he had noticed something, you didn’t do anything wrong, okay? You’re young, and what happened wasn’t done on purpose, so I think it’s best if you try to forget about it as soon as possible.”

The younger nodded. “I guess you’re right, hyung. We have to share a bed again tonight, so I guess I have to be over it really soon anyways.”

“I’m always right,” Jin preened. “What is this about Yoongi acting weird just now?” he asked curiously.

“Oh, that’s why I came here, actually,” Jungkook said. “I was sitting between Taehyung and Jimin hyung and I heard a huff so I look up and Yoongi-hyung is there staring our way but looking down at his phone to save face,” he huffed. “You should have seen his face, hyung. He looked ready to murder us or something. And when Tae-hyung asked him what was up he said we were being annoying.”

Jin frowned. “Yoongi doesn’t do that.”

“I thought the same, but apparently Yoongi-hyung does that now,” Jungkook sighed. “Are we that annoying?”

Jin waved his concern away. “Nah, you’re all fine. I bet Yoongi was just jealous.”

“Jealous?” Of what?”

Jin looked at him. “There are lots of things to be jealous about, I think. Maybe he wanted to be in on the joke,” he patted Jungkook’s shoulder and started walking away. “Or maybe he wanted to be the one making you laugh. You never know,” he called out as he left, leaving Jungkook more than a little confused and still wondering what had just happened.

When he came back, he was a little glad to see that Jimin had taken his place next to Taehyung. Whatever thing Yoongi had against them would hopefully cool off now that Jungkook had been relegated to sit next to the aisle.

As soon as someone mentioned the topic of food, they decided to go buy their brunch. Jungkook tried not to look back at Yoongi as some of them stood up to get the food. Fortunately, they had no trouble buying, even if Namjoon wasn’t with them to help with the whole asking for the food part. His silver lining of the day came in the form of a whole sandwich for himself while the rest had to share. As it usually happened, they ate mostly in silence, everyone more focused on enjoying their food than on being social with one another.

Once their bellies stopped being empty, they decided to go out to the deck; Jungkook made sure to carry his camera this time, smiling a bit when he noticed Yoongi doing the same in front of him. Out there, everyone went to move on their own, leaving Jungkook free to take pictures of the fjord around him. If he tried to stay close enough to Yoongi to hear what the older was saying, it was unconscious, and thankfully no one said anything about it, except for a meaningful look from Jin that the younger pretended not to see.

They got off the ferry soon after, and the first thing on their agenda was to find real food, which resulted in them getting hamburgers and Jungkook ending with a ketchup stain on the sleeve of his pristine white hoodie. He scowled at the stain as soon as he saw it, but the expression was soon wiped off his face when everyone (read: Yoongi-hyung) started laughing like crazy. He guessed a little ridicule every once in a while wasn’t that bad.

Outside, everyone started splitting to do different activities, Taehyung walking off before anyone could follow him. Namjoon, Hoseok and Jimin clearly had already made plans, and Jin, who was standing so close to Yoongi, wasn’t an option either. Jungkook suddenly felt like an outsider. He knew it wasn’t on them, though; if he decided to join any group he was sure he wouldn’t be cast aside, but Jungkook suddenly didn’t feel like trying. He took his camera and fidgeted with it, checking the lenses as he waited for everyone to leave him alone.

Except that not all of them left.

He heard footsteps as he was looking down, and suddenly he saw two familiar pairs of shoes in front of him. “Yah, Jungkook-ah, are you planning on standing there all alone?”

Jungkook gulped and raised his gaze to Yoongi and Jin. “Uh… it seemed like all of you had already made plans, and, uh, I wanted to take some pictures of the place so…”

Yoongi arched an eyebrow and raised his camera. “Guess who was planning on doing the same,” he smirked. “Come on, kid, walk with us.”

Jungkook blushed and nodded. “Alright.”

Yoongi nodded back and turned around, leading the way. Jin cleared his throat to make Jungkook look at him and made an exaggerated thumbs up motion, making the younger snort. “Score,” Jin said when him and Jungkook started following Yoongi.

“Shut up,” the younger whispered.

“Yah,” Jin elbowed him, making him laugh. “Respect your elders.”

“Shut up, hyung ,” he corrected himself, smiling when Jin huffed and crossed his arms. “I didn’t score anything, by the way,” he clarified.

“Ah, of course you did, Jungkookie,” the older contradicted him. “I didn’t say a word to Yoongi about you. He decided to invite you to come with us all on his own.”

Jungkook tried (and failed) to stop his heart from racing up when he heard this. “Did he?” he muttered, smiling down at his camera. “I guess… we can talk about photography?” he looked at Jin helplessly.

Jin laughed and ruffled Jungkook’s hair. “You and Yoongi have more in common than you seem to think. I’m sure you can talk about whatever you want.”

The maknae smiled more openly as he fixed his hair. “The only thing in the way is the stupid mess I become when I get near him, so-”

“Hey!” Both heads snapped to look at Yoongi, who was - thankfully - a good distance away. “Can you gossip and walk? We don’t have all day.”

Jin and Jungkook laughed again, but quickly reached Yoongi to continue on walking.

Jungkook tried, he really did. And for once, his awkward antics seemed to be working. Yoongi and him took pictures of whatever fit their aesthetics, with Yoongi trying to catch what the landscape had to offer, while Jungkook ventured to take some closed up shots, hoping for the best, and Jin filled the already comfortable silence with awful dad jokes that they couldn’t help but laugh at.

“You’re lucky you’re the hyung,” Yoongi remarked as a reluctant laugh escaped his lips after another terrible joke. “I wouldn’t deal with you otherwise.”

Jungkook stopped laughing slowly, nodding along. “But if Jin-hyung were younger, wouldn’t that make you the oldest?”

Yoongi nodded seriously. “That’s right, as it should be.”

Jin snorted. “Being the hyung is not an easy job, you know? You need to take care of your dongsaengs all the time, not just when they are with you.”

Yoongi shrugged. “I guess I would be the cool hyung that lets his dongsaengs do whatever they want.”

Jungkook imagined it; what would happen if Hoseok, Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung and himself could do as they pleased. He shuddered. “And that’s why you weren’t meant to be the hyung of this group,” he stated. “Leaving us free reign sounds like the worst mistake you could ever make.”

“Whatever you say, I would make an amazing hyung.”

Jungkook rolled his eyes, knowing nothing would change Yoongi’s mind. “Hey, hyung,” he called out as he checked his camera.

“What?” two voices answered.

The younger laughed. “Sorry. Yoongi-hyung, can you come look at this one?” Yoongi walked towards him and Jungkook started to hold out the camera for him to grab when the older stopped right next to him, his shoulders touching. He fought the hardest not to blush and cleared his throat, showing Yoongi the picture in question.

Yoongi leaned closer, inadvertently getting closer to Jungkook in the process. “Hmm, I think it’s good, but…” he frowned.

“B-But?”

Yoongi finally stepped back, starting to make gestures with his hands as he spoke. “I think it could look better if you played a little with the angles. Like, you could raise the camera above your head or lower it, maybe tilt it some, see how it feels.”

Jungkook nodded and smiled. “I will, thanks hyung.”

Yoongi smiled back and went back to his own photographies. “Show me what you get later.”

Their short but meaningful interactions gave Jungkook more confidence than he thought he’d be able to have. When Yoongi asked for his opinion on some of his pictures, he even dared to approach him from behind to let his head rest on the older’s shoulder. Yoongi didn’t protest nor did he step away. Jungkook took this as his opportunity to allow himself to be more touchy than usual, his actions more similar to how he’d behave around Taehyung or Hoseok. And Yoongi didn’t complain, didn’t tell him to back off. And Jungkook felt really, completely happy for the first time during their trip.

The only rain on his parade, surprisingly, ended up being Jin’s presence with them. While he had served as a link between them at the beginning, now that Jungkook felt more carefree about his interactions with Yoongi, Jin had become the constant reminder of his feelings left unsaid. Because Jin’s knowing looks their way might be meaningless for Yoongi, but Jungkook swore his heart stopped every time Jin looked like he might say something about the way he was behaving. He knew his hyung wouldn’t say anything, but still; the anticipation made him more than a little paranoid.

This was why when everyone reunited and separated again, Jungkook decided to not remain with them. He claimed he was tired, but in reality he had run out of calm energy, and was prone to become a nervous mess if he saw Jin looking their way one more time.

Leaving the two of them alone might not be the best idea, but Jungkook had to trust Jin to don’t betray his trust. He had to. Hopefully the time to leave would arrive soon.

Chapter Text

After messing around with the most liveliest of his hyungs, the time came to board the train. Jungkook now really felt exhausted, both physically and emotionally. He sat across the aisle from everyone else, watching as everyone boarded. He rolled his eyes but remained quiet as Taehyung explained he had lost his bag. Like things were, either production or one of his hyungs had hidden the bag, so he wasn’t really worried.

When Taehyung was called away, Jungkook took advantage to go and sit between Namjoon and Jin. The oldest smiled quickly at him as Namjoon explained the hidden camera situation to everyone. Their plan to pretend was destined to fail, but Jungkook wouldn’t be the one to ruin the pretense.

Jungkook observed as one by one, all of his hyungs tried and failed to remain serious, Yoongi going to the extreme of needing to leave so he could laugh without anyone noticing.  He could pinpoint the exact moment Taehyung realized it was all a joke when he stood up and left without saying a word as everyone else was distracted. He made a silly dance to keep his hyungs distracted; there was no point in them finding out that Taehyung knew already, they would just stop pretending, and where was the fun in that?

Taehyung returned, and Yoongi did as well, eventually making his way to seat right in front of Jungkook (and seriously, why? He had been perfectly okay sitting next to the aisle, well hidden from his sight by Jin’s broad shoulders). He tried to look everywhere except in front of him, but sometimes their gazes met and Jungkook did everything in his power to a) don’t blush, b) don’t stare like a lovesick fool, and c) don’t make something ridiculous that would leave him even more embarrassed.

Things got supposedly heated when Taehyung and Jin started to argue. Despite it being all for a good laugh, Jungkook hated seeing his hyungs fight, so he remained quiet the whole time, exchanging some unwilling glances with Yoongi all the while.

When Taehyung stormed off, Jungkook knew the prank was over. Effectively, a few seconds after their final arguments, Taehyung returned, bag in hand, to expose every single one of them on their terrible acting skills. Everyone ended up laughing, and Jungkook was merely happy the prank was over.

Immediately after settling things down, they arrived at a beautiful waterfall, where they could get off the train and take pictures. Once again, everyone moved to wherever they wanted to go. Jungkook walked right over to the railing, starting to take pictures like crazy of the water falling heavily, creating a small breeze and the smallest fog at the bottom of the waterfall.

“You’re gonna run out of memory if you keep taking pictures like that.”

Jungkook looked at his left for only a second. “Yoongi-hyung. Hey.”

“Yah, are you okay?” the older asked, raising his camera focus to his eye to take some pictures of the scenery in front of them.

“Why wouldn’t I? I’m fine,” he answered, checking his gallery to keep his hands busy.

“I don’t know Jungkook-ah. You tell me.” After seeing Jungkook’s panicked expression, Yoongi rushed to clarify. “I don’t know what you’re thinking, but it’s nothing serious. I saw you in such a good mood when we were exploring, I was weirded out when all of a sudden our maknae seems off and stops laughing with us.”

“You noticed?”

Yoongi huffed. “How could I not?” was his response. “Besides, I was in front of you, it was hard to miss.”

“Well, you were sitting far away from me before,” Jungkook countered. “When you came back you decided to sit closer, why?” he accused.

Yoongi shrugged. “I just decided I wanted to sit there,” he answered. “Were you planning on avoiding your hyung? You seem very disappointed that I decided to switch my seat in the middle of the trip.”

Jungkook’s eyes widened. “N-No, why would you think that?” he rushed to ask. Crush or not, in love with him or not, the last thing Jungkook wanted was to make Yoongi think something was wrong. It wasn’t his fault that Jungkook’s heart had decided to fall in love with his bandmate, after all.

Yoongi sighed. “Listen, Jungkook-ah. I think there’s something up with you, and…” he tilted his head. “I guess I just wanted to let you know that I’m here if you want to talk, or complain, or anything.”

“Why?” Jungkook blurted out, blushing when Yoongi looked at him with wide eyes.

“Why is it going to be?” he repeated. “Because I care, obviously. We all do, I guess, but I mean that I-”

“Hey! Can you take a picture of me?”

Both of them looked over their shoulder, where a cheerful Jimin was approaching, promptly splitting them up before pointing out where he wanted them to take the picture from. Jungkook was a little annoyed. What did Yoongi mean? What had he been about to say? Knowing his hyung, Jungkook knew if he tried asking at a later date,Yoongi would simply tell him it was nothing, or he would dramatize Jungkook’s fixation on getting an answer and ignore the question anyways. But he didn’t mind that. Yoongi had said that he cared . Him, before including everyone else.

A quick glance at Yoongi showed that he, too, was a little annoyed at Jimin’s untimely appearance. “Fine,” he groaned, rubbing his eyes for a second. “Only one picture, though, so try to make it a good one.” Jimin just laughed but nodded.

Taehyung was already prepared with his phone and Jimin soon got to work on getting his picture. The threat of it being just one picture was void, obviously, since neither Yoongi nor himself would let Jimin get away with a mediocre picture, their artistic side wouldn’t allow it.. When all of them were satisfied, Jimin finally left them alone again.

Jungkook was about to walk away when Yoongi called out for him. “Jungkook-ah, take a picture of me, like I were in a camera commercial.”

What?

Jungkook noticed Yoongi with his camera already raised to his eye, posing, waiting for him. This made the younger rush to adjust his camera, leaning on the railing to be able to focus and not tremble as he took the picture. The first picture was perfect, Jungkook knew it, but fortunately, Yoongi didn’t, and he took full advantage of it to take more pictures for his personal appreciation, zooming in to Yoongi’s face and to his hands holding the camera, before announcing the picture was taken.

After taking the obligatory selfie, Jungkook decided to distance himself a bit before getting into the train once more. Thankfully, everyone else was busy being recorded or taking pictures; he even caught Namjoon and Jin sneakily taking one of their couple selfies that never saw the daylight. The sound of the water falling from above made him relax, and by the time they got into the train again, Jungkook was back to normal.

The ride to Myrdal station was a short one, and they could only walk around for about ten minutes before they had to board the train back to Bergen, but Jungkook made the most of his time capturing everything he considered worth remembering of the place. He quietly boarded the train once their time was over, finding a seat and secretly sighing in relief when a member of the camera crew used the seat next to him to record Jin. He saw the rest getting in, barely sparing them a glance before settling in on his seat. Everyone was keeping to themselves, it seemed that a day long trip, what they all needed was some rest.

Since everyone was missing Korean food already, Jin made dinner plans and dragged Yoongi and Taehyung with him to help him with the shopping. Jungkook took advantage of most of the camera crew leaving with the others to have a talk with Namjoon.

“Hey, Namjoon-hyung,” he quietly said as he started walking next to him.

Namjoon smiled and nodded. “What is it, Jungkookie?”

“Uh… has Yoongi-hyung by any chance mentioned anything weird to you today?”

His hyung frowned and shook his head. “We haven’t talked a lot today, he didn’t say anything weird. Why?” His eyes widened. “Did you confess or…?”

Jungkook’s eyes widened as well. “No! No, it’s not that!” he clarified, shaking his head when Jimin and Hoseok turned to them with questioning glances. Namjoon laughed at his panic.

“If you don’t want people looking at you, try not to be so loud when you talk,” Namjoon said wisely, earning an eye-roll from the younger. “But seriously, if you didn’t confess yet,” he ignored Jungkook’s scoff at the word, “then what happened that might have been weird?”

Jungkook shook his head. “I’m not telling you.”

Namjoon arched one eyebrow. “You know I can convince Jin to tell me later what happened, right?”

“If he wants to tell you it’s okay,” he finally said. “I’m never sharing what happened again, I might actually die.”

“Sounds embarrassing,” the older deduced correctly, earning just a confirming silence from the maknae. “Alright, then what about confessing, have you decided anything?”

“I…” he was about to say he hadn’t when he suddenly changed his mind. “You know what, I am going to do it. I’ll confess tomorrow.”

“Whoa, Jungkook,” Namjoon spluttered, clearly caught off guard. “Are you sure? I mean, what made you decide so quickly? A couple of days ago you were all against it.”

“Well,” Jungkook considered it for a moment. “I feel like it’s now or never, you know? I’ve been thinking about it non-stop, and I’ve been acting completely weird because of it.” He took a pause, breathing in deeply. “I don’t know; the moments when I forget he doesn’t know what I feel are great, no pressure, no secrecy, not anything, just me enjoying the time we spend together.” He slowly smiled. “Besides, I’ve been more touchy with hyung lately, and he seems to accept it, maybe he likes me back.”

Namjoon smiled. “Yeah, I heard about that last bit from Jin. I guess if anyone could catch Yoongi-hyung’s attention in that way when he’s so focused in our career, it’s definitely you.”

Jungkook felt happy, but didn’t let it show. “Why me?” he asked curiously.

“Ah, that,” Namjoon looked up at the cloudy sky for a second. “You have lots of things in common to share, to start with. I guess since he took you in right from the first day you arrived at the dorms, you share some of the same personality traits, so I don’t think you two would clash so much, like…” he seemed to try to come up with something. “What I’m trying to say is you are like him enough to understand him, but different enough to help him come out of his shell.”

“You mean the recording room,” Jungkook joked to lighten the mood, overwhelmed by what Namjoon had just said.

Namjoon let out a sudden laugh, nodding along. “You can see it that way,” he conceded.

“Thank you, hyung,” he said appreciatively. “What you said means a lot coming from you.”

“Huh?”

Jungkook laughed. “Hyung, you and Jin-hyung are the closest thing to a stable and healthy relationship I know, excluding my own parents. If you said what you said, and you also think there is a chance, then it’s more probably you’re right.”

Namjoon ruffled his hair gently. “You put too much faith in us, kid. And by the way,” his tone became serious, “I know things are looking good, and I hate being the one to mention it, but if you are confessing, you need to be prepared to hear both answers. Nothing is set in stone and I would hate it if you got your hopes too high or too low. We don’t want you to struggle with this.”

Jungkook was touched by Namjoon’s concern. He understood what he was saying. He knew confessing to a band member could be the worst idea ever, and it didn't work the same for everyone; but Jungkook was more determined than ever. He felt there was a chance, and he wasn’t letting it go just like that. “I finally feel like I’m prepared. Tomorrow, hyung, I’ll let you know how it goes.”

When they arrived at the hostel, everyone got comfortable while waiting for the food to arrive, which didn’t take that long. All seven of them worked together to prepare dinner as soon as possible, assigning tasks to prepare ingredients, set the table and not be in the way (Namjoon and Taehyung) so everything could go faster.

Once again, Jungkook noticed how the camera crew didn’t stand too close to the kitchen area, confirming his previous theory of the heat maybe being dangerous for the recording equipment. With a small smile, he approached Yoongi, who was stirring food in the stove, and went to place his head on his favorite place: Yoongi’s shoulder.

“How’s the food going?” he mumbled, making sure to exaggerate his jaw movements to annoy his hyung.

Yoongi huffed but also smiled. “It’s going, Jungkook-ah, we’ll be done in a few minutes. Couldn’t you wait in the living room with the rest?” he replied.

Jungkook straightened himself and shook his head. “You’d miss me too much, hyung. I need to be here to brighten your cooking,” he joked.

Yoongi laughed exasperatedly at him, his gums showing and making Jungkook swoon inside. “Then this better be the best Korean food we’ve eaten in a long time,” he joked back, smiling fondly at him. Jungkook internally thanked the heat of the kitchen for making a perfect reasonable excuse as to why his cheeks started turning red.

He left the kitchen soon after that, his heart pumping and his mind more determined than ever. Tomorrow. He’d do it tomorrow.

Chapter Text

Jungkook woke up and once again he felt something heavy on him, Yoongi was wrapped up around him; his arm was across his chest and his leg was between Jungkook’s legs, at least today Yoongi’s arm wasn’t near dangerous places, at this Jungkook was half glad and half disappointed. Jungkook looked at Yoongi’s sleeping face, he could never get tired of it and he hoped tonight Yoongi returned his feelings… or at least didn’t hate him for eternity.

Before other parts of his body woke up as well, Jungkook decided to get up, slowly he untangled himself from Yoongi and left a pillow as his replacement, his hyung only made a  muffled noise.

The previous night Jungkook had told his hyungs he’d be doing the laundry early, so they gladly gave him every dirty piece of clothing they had so that was what Jungkook did before they parted, it kept him busy and it stopped his mind from thinking about a certain someone.

By the time everyone woke up, Jungkook had finished washing everyone’s clothes, and he had even managed to remove the ketchup stain from his white hoodie, he even separated the clothes for each member, his hyungs should be thankful, he was such a good boy, or more like a good young adult . He had also taken a shower, so he felt clean and fresh, he felt good and he could already tell this would be a good day.

When they started leaving the place that had been their home for a couple of days, the camera crew asked Jungkook to wait, they had realized Yoongi had forgotten his iPad behind and wanted to do a hidden camera thing, Jungkook was thrilled with this so he gleefully said yes to do it. Jungkook avoided seating next to Yoongi on their way to the airport, he wanted to leave a note on his iPad and luckily he happened to know the password to it so he’d have no trouble; he decided to do it simple and stylish, maybe he’d leave a song recommendation that might be a hint about how he felt about Yoongi. The result was:

Yoongi-hyung, how can you forget something as expensive as this? ㅜㅜ

Anyways, here’s a song I’d like you to hear

Can’t Fight This Feeling - Reo Speedwagon

Bye hyung!

Jungkook smiled at the note, was that song too cheesy? He had spent a whole night looking for lovesick songs and that had been one of the best. In the end, it didn’t matter if Yoongi read the note or not, he’d be spilling his feelings tonight.

When they got down from the cars Yoongi noticed he might have forgotten his iPad, Jungkook almost laughed at how carefree he was about it. He gave it back and smiled at his hyung and then decided to walk beside Jimin, leaving Yoongi behind.

Inside the airport, they waited for a while before their fight was announced, once again, for some reason, Jungkook didn’t quite understand, they were leaving Tae behind. He was sitting right in front of Jin and Namjoon, the couple seemed so comfortable with each other, they were just talking and yet both of them had the happiest expression on their faces; Jungkook wondered if he’d ever had something like that, he wished he did.

Jungkook saw how Yoongi seemed to be restless on his seat, and heard him announcing he needed fresh air so he left and went outside, Jungkook wondered what that was about, had he read the note he left?

After a while Yoongi came back and he seemed calmer, Jungkook was relieved to not have his hyung interrogating him about the note, he wasn’t ready to explain the meaning of it.

When they arrived in Sweden, they were divided into pairs. They’d take different means of transportation to arrive in their hotel; he got Hobi as his partner and he didn’t miss the way Yoongi stared at them for a brief moment, Yoongi got Namjoon as his partner, the pair would have it easy. But Jungkook was confident they’d do pretty good.

Yoongi’s POV

The last couple of days Yoongi had had a good time with the guys, he even dared to be a bit touchy with Jungkook, but that was just his way to treat him. Even sharing the room with Jungkook had been good, but Yoongi suspected he had made Jungkook uncomfortable by using him as a pillow, but he couldn’t help it, his body moved on his own when he slept.

While they were waiting for their flight to be announced Yoongi used the iPad to write an idea he had, but he noticed a recent note he hadn’t created, he opened it and laughed when he realized Jungkook had written it, that little rascal had done it while he hid it from him. He found a song recommendation and Yoongi decided to listen to it later, they didn’t exactly have the same music taste, but if Jungkook had felt the need to mention it, then he’d listen to it. Judging by the title Yoongi assumed it was a song in English, he translated the meaning and it surprised him.

Yoongi could feel he was blushing, what had been Jungkook’s intention? He looked at him and he seemed to be lost in thought. No sign of nervousness.

Yoongi needed fresh air before his mind wandered to dangerous places. He left the waiting area and went outside.

Yoongi managed to calm down, and when they arrived in Sweden he was glad he got Namjoon as his partner, he needed to talk to somebody and their leader was a good listener.

Namjoon and Yoongi had managed to get the tickets for the Arlanda express, they even got them cheaper.

Inside the Arlanda Express Yoongi decided to talk with Namjoon, “Namjoon-ah, I need to talk to you”

Namjoon looked at him and gave him his undivided attention, “What’s up hyung? Something’s bothering you?”

“Not exactly, it’s just…” Yoongi couldn’t find the words, what did he want to say?

“It’s just…” Namjoon ventured to try to get the older to talk.

“It’s about Jungkook” Yoongi didn’t miss the way Namjoon’s eyes went wider.

“Jungkook? What about him? Did he cause you trouble? Aah, don’t tell me you ‘borrowed' his underwear again...”

Yoongi laughed at that comment if Joonie’s intention was to make him feel comfortable it was working.

The pair talked all the way, Yoongi ended up telling him about the awkwardness in their interactions, how Jungkook disappeared as soon as he woke up. He even mentioned the song, at this Namjoon, had simply opened his mouth wide open. Yoongi told him he wasn’t sure what to make of Jungkook’s behavior, he was almost certain he hadn’t changed the way he treated him. Namjoon listened to him. And his reply was that he shouldn’t worry, maybe it was the way Jungkook was dealing with the trip, but Namjoon’s voice didn’t sound completely convinced, Yoongi wondered why.

They realized they had missed their stop, too engrossed in their conversation.

After arriving at the hotel, the pair decided to go shopping, leaving behind the conversation, they got ready to leave.

At the outlet Yoongi concentrated on buying new clothes, he'd been wearing the same for the last couple of days and hell he wanted something new.

Namjoon and he ran into Jimin and after a diligent search for clothes the trio decided to head to the restaurant where they'll meet the rest.

On their way to the restaurant they learned Taehyung was in the middle of nowhere, but he didn't seem to be bothered by it. Yoongi wondered how he could be so carefree.

When they arrived at the restaurant Hoseok and Jungkook weren't there yet, and Yoongi found himself annoyed at this, what could the pair be doing?

After a couple of minutes they finally arrived, he was about to scold them when he noticed how happy Jungkook looked, this stopped him from saying a word. Just like them, they were carrying bags. Yoongi stood up so Hoseok and Jungkook could sit. On the other side of the table, Namjoon, Seokjin (who had arrived before Hoseok and Jungkook and sat next to Namjoon) and Jimin were occupying the booth, Yoongi was glad when Hoseok sat first, leaving Jungkook between them.

They talked about how they had managed to go around by themselves and Jungkook even told them about activating an alarm, and Hoseok apologized for not taking proper care of their baby. Jimin complained once again about Seokjin and Seokjin just laughed it off.

To their disgrace, Namjoon noticed he was missing a bag, which contained his passport. They looked around and didn't find it, Tae arrived while they were watching Namjoon freaking out about his passport, and Yoongi noticed how Jungkook had gotten closer to him and he even had an arm around his shoulder. This was so casual, Jungkook didn’t even spare him a look, he simply explained what was going on to Tae, who sat down next to him.

Yoongi didn’t mind having Jungkook invading his personal space, he had gotten used to the non-existence of personal space, but a part of him felt good to have Jungkook’s arm around him.

After they ate they went back to the hotel, Namjoon had given up on his passport and decided to visit the Korean embassy the next day.

At the hotel, Jungkook seemed to be restless and he seemed to want to talk to Yoongi… Yoongi was about to ask him what on earth was going on when Jungkook declared he wanted to talk to him.

Jungkook’s POV

Today had a been a good day for Jungkook, Hobi and he had managed to get to the hotel, and even managed to find a place to eat meatballs and shop for clothes, the only bad thing was him activating the alarm, and Hobi’s attempt at scolding him.

At the restaurant, he was comfortable around Yoongi and even got away with putting his arm behind him. He hoped Namjoon’s passport was just misplaced and not tragically lost.

After they finished eating they rushed back to the hotel and Jungkook waited for the members to enter their room before he asked Yoongi to wait.

Yoongi just looked at him and waited for Jungkook to speak, the latter felt anxious and dared to look at him,

“Hyung, I think… I…” Jungkook sighed, he had practiced this conversation in his mind. He took a deep breath.

Jungkook couldn’t read Yoongi’s expression, but he was paying attention.

“These last couple of days have been pretty awesome and I’ve come to be certain about something…”

Yoongi was about to reply when Jungkook continued, “This something it’s… uh… how should I put it? We’ve been together all this time, and I’ve come to know you and admire you for your music and for who you are. But these last months something’s changed….”

“What do you mean something’s changed?” Yoongi sounded confused.

“My feelings for you have changed, I think I’m… No, I’m certain… I’m in love with you” Jungkook’s voice trembled at the last sentence.

At first, Yoongi seemed surprised, then his expression changed and Jungkook recognized that expression, soft eyes and understanding smile, it was the one he used when he explained something to him, why was Yoongi looking at him like that? What needed to be explained?

“Jungkook-ah, what do you mean in love?” His voice was condescending. Yoongi got closer to him and sighed. “Have you ever been in love before, Jungkook?”

Jungkook was confused and he started panicking, “What? In love? Why does it matter? Yoongi-hyung…”

“It’s okay Jungkook, I’ve seen you grow, all of us feel like we’ve raised you. I know you kid, you can’t be in love with me. Maybe you’re just misunderstanding your feelings....”

Jungkook took a step back, Yoongi’s words felt like stabs right through his heart, through his pride. How could Yoongi say that?

“Hyung, I’m not misunderstanding anything I really…” Jungkook’s voice was now desperate, he could tell his eyes were getting teary. He didn’t expect this.

“Jungkook, maybe you should go rest. You’re tired. I’m tired. We can talk about this tomorrow, clear-headed and well rested…”

Jungkook caught a glimpse of doubt in Yoongi’s expression.

Should Jungkook stay and beg? Cry in front of Yoongi? Should he run to his room and hide hoping this had never happened?

“Jungkook, I…” Was Yoongi panicking? Jungkook couldn’t tell, maybe Yoongi’s voice trembled. He wasn’t sure, he wasn’t sure of anything anymore.

Jungkook did the only thing that he could possibly do in the middle of the haze forming in his head.

He turned and ran to his room. He felt tears running down his cheeks. Yoongi had diminished his feelings, he wasn’t even rejected.

He got to his room and opened the door, Hobi was already sleeping. Jungkook went to the bathroom and did the only thing he could right now. He cried and prayed this day had never happened.

Notes:

I cried while writing that last part, cried again when I proofread it.
Feel free to comment (we can cry together).

UPDATE: 2021-06-24: Jungkook ends up crying on this scene. [SPOILER] He confesses, and it doesn't really go as he expected. Remember not everything is meant to work out perfectly from the start. We guarantee a happy ending on this one, so it will get better <3

Chapter Text

Yoongi’s POV

Yoongi couldn’t sleep. He had a room to himself, what with Namjoon sneaking off to sleep with Seokjin, saving his ears from suffering with Namjoon’s snores, and still he couldn’t sleep that night. Instead he spent his night thinking and listening to the song Jungkook had left on his iPad on repeat.

I can't fight this feeling any longer

And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow

What started out as friendship, has grown stronger

I only wish I had the strength to let it show

As night became morning, the words got stuck deep inside him. Had that been the real purpose behind Jungkook’s note? To hint at his supposed feelings? Hell, now that he knew , he felt stupid for not realizing it sooner. Those lyrics couldn’t be more obvious even if the composer had tried to make them so.

It was only when he heard his phone buzz that he realized he would have a tiring day ahead of him.

For once, he arrived to the lobby before anyone else, and he knew he was most likely to be joined by Jungkook or Jimin in a few moments, considering they were the early risers in the group. Today was different, though. One by one, they all came down; Taehyung, Hoseok, and finally Seokjin and Namjoon, hand in hand. The two of them stared at him, making him feel self-conscious. Their expressions were impossible to read, and Yoongi had an inkling the pair already knew about what had happened the previous night.

He cleared his throat, deciding to say something to take their eyes off him. “Uh… where’s Jungkook?”

If anything, the eyes watching him narrowed before Seokjin answered. “Jungkook felt a little under the weather last night. He’ll take a while longer than usual to get ready.”

They definitely knew. Up until the moment Jungkook… said what he said, he hadn’t shown signs of feeling bad in any way. Seokjin could only be referencing that one thing. “Oh,” was all he replied.

Namjoon sighed and took out his phone to check the hour. “They are taking too long to come down,” he muttered, tensing his jaw. “I have to leave for the embassy already,” he announced to the rest of the group.

“Yah, I’m sure everything will be alright,” Hoseok said, giving Namjoon a supportive smile.

“Namjoon-hyung, fighting!” Taehyung smiled as well. “Let us know how it goes, okay?”

Namjoon nodded and did his best to smile. “I’ll call one of you as soon as I have news. Enjoy your day out, I’ll see you later.”

Namjoon and Seokjin huddled closer together and Yoongi looked away, wanting to give them as much privacy as possible. He looked around the lobby; Hoseok and Taehyung were already immersed in a conversation involving one of their phones, and Yoongi wasn’t that interested in joining in.

“Namjoon-hyung, wait!”

Yoongi’s head immediately snapped to the elevator, where Jungkook struggled with his camera bag to get out before the doors were completely open. He was wearing another one of his white t-shirts, but there wasn’t much else Yoongi could notice before the younger strided over to Namjoon to give him a hug, making him frown.

It wasn’t a secret that everyone liked being touchy with one another, some more than others. Jungkook, however, had already gotten over the phase where he went around hugging everyone without even a warning, so this was unusual. Jungkook didn’t hug people unless he was extremely happy… or really distressed.

“Good luck, hyung,” he managed to hear him say, Jungkook frowning as he stepped away from the hug.

Namjoon sighed fondly and nodded. “Don’t worry so much, Jungkookie. You better take care of yourself, alright? Enjoy your day .”

Jungkook nodded enthusiastically. “I’ll try, hyung, I promise.”

Namjoon left soon after, a somber silence taking over the rest of the group before they were moved outside, ready to start recording their day. They moved around naturally, already used to the presence of cameras at all times, but somehow Yoongi couldn’t stop sneaking glances at Jungkook every half a minute or so. He was concerned about the younger; even if his confession hadn't been such thing, Jungkook had sure felt it that way and he didn’t want to be the cause behind their maknae feeling sad or down in any way.

When Jungkook suddenly went back in the lobby to retrieve Jimin after Yoongi pointed out he was missing, he let out a sigh of relief. Despite Seokjin’s slight hints at the youngest’s mood and the rare display of affection from earlier, Jungkook had been all smiles and jokes so far. Just as he’d thought, it hadn't been a serious confession and Jungkook would soon get over it. Yoongi only wished the hope that had sparkled in his heart would disappear just as quick.

Once Jimin joined them, they all boarded the bus that would take them to Gamla Stan. Yoongi seated himself next to a window, his expression clear but hoping his stance spoke for him; his body leaned towards the empty seat next to him, not against being joined by someone. Actually, expecting a certain maknae to sit next to him. He couldn’t help but frown when Jungkook walked past him, all smiles, followed by everyone else. Since there was no one - members nor crew - watching he turned to watch where they had ended. Jungkook and Taehyung were sitting together, their backs to the windows; this made it easier for Yoongi to stare, but also easier to be caught, so he made sure to try his best at being subtle.

There was no need. The pair were joking and talking around, all smiles and inappropriately loud bursts of laughter, ignoring everything around them. Yoongi quickly turned to look out the window, the landscape beautiful but meaningless at the moment. He should be just glad that Jungkook is happy, but it shouldn’t feel like this - like the one hurting was Yoongi himself.

Yoongi felt more than a little awkward when they all got off the bus. He tried to match his step with Jungkook’s more than a couple of times, failing when the younger would either rush to reach one of the others or stop altogether to take a picture, and Yoongi wasn’t going so low as to ruin a photographer’s stance for the sake of talking. They would have time for it later, he guessed.

When everyone agreed to split in two groups to explore Gamla, Yoongi quickly made sure to get closer to Jungkook, since photograph buddies needed to stick together, right? He couldn’t help but scowl when Taehyung came along with them. What was up with him today? Yoongi didn’t get in bad moods just because. Logically, he knew the events of last night had him like that, but he refused to be conscious about it. Admitting how he felt would only lead to negative feelings he wasn’t ready to acknowledge yet.

They walked around for a while, Yoongi recognizing some spots where he and Jimin had posed together for a photoshoot the last time they’d visited the place. The three of them took pictures, lots of them, so there wasn’t much talking except for the bits where they moved for one place to the next to keep capturing good aesthetics.

They ended up in an ice cream shop, the three of them sitting in one available booth in the corner. They ordered one ice cream to share right away and were left alone to wait, the camera crew sitting at another table. Yoongi hoped this was finally the chance he had been waiting for to talk with Jungkook and make sure that everything was alright.

“Hyung, look at the pictures I took,” he heard Jungkook’s voice say. His head turned immediately, a smile forming on his lips, only to disappear completely when he realized Jungkook hadn’t addressed him. Jungkook and Taehyung were leaning over the display screen of his camera, Jungkook describing the pictures as Taehyung shared his opinions about them. Yoongi quickly turned his head back to staring in front of him - the menu and a map. He already knew the route, and looking at the menu was useless, but he refused to let any expression show, and he’d rather appear bored than try to include himself in the conversation happening to his right.

When their ice cream arrived, Yoongi only ate a couple of small spoonfuls; at least grateful the other two were completely fine speaking among themselves to question his sudden lack of appetite. He didn’t know if he’d be able to explain how his empty stomach was now full of butterflies - the bad kind, probably moths, actually - and how Jungkook and his increasingly evident ways of avoiding him were the cause.

He appreciated the fresh air for once when they left the ice cream place. It also allowed him to put some distance between the rest, feeling completely awkward and unwanted, even if he hadn’t been rejected - directly or indirectly - even once. It was all Yoongi; he, his stupid logic and his pathetic heart.

“Yoongi-hyung, Jungkookie, let’s see who takes the best picture of me, okay?” Taehyung called him, walking at a distance to pose between the tall buildings. Yoongi readied his camera wordlessly, not even trying to speak to Jungkook this time, even if he did walk a little closer to take his picture more or less from the same perspective as the younger.

He took one picture, then another, and another. After that third shot he realized his head wasn’t really on it, so he lowered his camera and huffed. “Whatever,” he muttered, walking ahead and leaving Jungkook behind. He walked round Taehyung, simply watching the atmosphere when he stole one (another) look at Jungkook, startling when he found a camera lense pointed at him - at them, he corrected himself. Nonetheless, he stared at the camera, as close as he would get to stare right into Jungkook’s eyes, and hoped that Jungkook realized he wasn’t fooling him with all the avoidance.

After finding out where the others were and finding their way to them, Yoongi sat in front of Seokjin, Taehyung sitting next to them and creating a kind of circle. Hoseok was sitting away from them, about to call Namjoon, and Jimin was trying to feed the seagulls. Jungkook had been walking behind him and Taehyung, increasing the distance between them every time he stopped tot take a picture. When he reached the meeting place, Yoongi totally expected him to join their little circle, so he was surprised when he went to sit near the edge of the river.

“What’s with the grumpy face?” Yoongi’s eyes flied to Seokjin, who was watching him with one raised eyebrow.

He shrugged. “That’s my resting face,” he deadpanned. “Anyway, what’s Jungkook doing over there looking all down?”

Seokjin frowned at him. “I would think you of all people would know why he is feeling down,” he replied.

Taehyung raised his head from his phone. “Wait, Jungkookie is feeling sad?”

Yoongi nodded his head towards Taehyung. “See? Taehyung was talking with him all morning and he didn’t notice anything out of place,” he remarked. “If anything, he looked like he was having a blast.”

Seokjin sighed and shook his head. “You’re denser than I thought, Yoongi, I can’t believe it.”

“What?”

“We’ll have a talk later,” was all that the older replied, changing the topic to their next plans.

Yoongi didn’t like being called dense; even less being called dense by his only hyung in the group. Seokjin attacking him somehow always meant he was right to do so, which made Yoongi decide to avoid getting along with Seokjin to have that talk.

Seokjin’s first attempt at having their talk was in the bathrooms of the restaurant they decided to eat in, following Yoongi after he had not so subtly stormed off after seeing Jungkook arm wrestling with Jimin as if he hadn’t just spent the whole time at the river’s edge literally giving his back to all of them. He was washing his hands when he heard Seokjin’s voice behind him.

“Ready for that talk?”

He groaned. “Not now, hyung, we’re about to eat.” He turned around to face Seokjin, crossing his arms over his chest. “What is there to talk about, anyways?”

“Last night…”

“I’m guessing you somehow found out about what Jungkook tried to do yesterday,” Yoongi said quickly, tilting his head.

Seokjin crossed his arms as well. “ Tried to?” he repeated. “According to what he told me himself, he confessed his feelings for you and you rejected him. Isn’t that what happened?”

Yoongi sighed heavily. “Come on, Jin-hyung,” he said. “You know as well as I do that the kid doesn’t have that kind of feelings for me. Never has, and I’m sure as hell he never will.”

Seokjin’s eyes widened. “You seriously believe that,” he realized. “How could you thi-”

“Food is waiting, hyung. We need to return,” Yoongi cut him off, squaring his shoulders and walking right past Seokjin to return to their table. He made his way back to his seat, well away from Jungkook. He noticed on the corner of his eye how the maknae’s eyes widened when he saw both Seokjin and him exiting the bathroom, and as soon as they both were seated, Jungkook stood up and left the table without saying a word. When he returned, the three of them tried to act normal. To Yoongi it felt like they failed miserably.

The second attempt wasn’t made by Seokjin himself, but his boyfriend made a damned good job at passing the message. Yoongi had thought he had escaped the topic for the time being when Seokjin dragged Jungkook off with him to go shopping for clothes. They wouldn’t meet until it was time to board the cruise, so the issue would be put on the back burner for the time being.

“Hey, hyung, come with me,” Namjoon called out for him. Yoongi looked back at Hoseok, who had already sprinted to reach Taehyung and Jimin, on their way to some place.

“Where are you going?”

“I’m just gonna walk around, some company never hurts.”

Yoongi shrugged. “Sure, why not?” He reached Namjoon in a couple of strides and they set on their way, making sure to mark their meeting place to avoid getting lost.

“So…” Namjoon started, scratching his neck, and Yoongi just knew something awkward was coming on.

“Whatever it is, please stop right there, I don’t need to-”

“-Jin told me to talk to you-”

“-I definitely don’t need to hear this-”

“-about the Jungkook situation,” he finished, and Yoongi scowled.

“Is it too late to leave you alone?” he asked, looking behind him.

Namjoon sighed. “Yoongi-hyung,” he said, and oh, no, that was his leader’s voice, which still managed to make him feel the slightest bit intimidated.

“I don’t get what you two want me to talk about,” Yoongi finally answered, fixing the hat on his head. “I’m guessing you know since hyung always shares all stuff with you.”

“I was with them when Jungkook was talking with Jin,” he explained.

Yoongi shook his head. “Anyway, as I told Jin-hyung earlier, we all know Jungkook isn’t really in love with me, so why would he even feel down if he thinks I rejected him? I’m doing the kid a favor.”

Namjoon stared at him in silence, even if they both kept walking. “Hyung, why would you say Jungkook isn’t in love with you?” he asked slowly, confusion plain on his face.

“He’s young,” Yoongi started. “He’s barely become of age, how can he know what love is? Besides, he’s spent so much time living with us, we practically raised him, Namjoon. Hell, I can see bits of all of us on him, it’s more likely that he mistook some weird admiration for love, that’s it.”

At that, Namjoon stopped altogether, making Yoongi do the same reluctantly, grateful for the absence of cameras near them. “Do you even hear yourself speak, hyung?” he exclaimed in disbelief. “How can anyone know what love is? How did you know? More importantly, how would you feel if someone told you your feelings weren’t real?”

Yoongi stuttered. “C-Calm down, Namjoon-”

But the leader was in a rant, always determinate to make people see reason. “Also, what even is that weak argument of us raising him?” he asked. “We may influence him but Jungkook was raised by his own parents on his own home. We all have influenced one another in some way, we spend too much time together for it to not happen.”

He took a deep breath and now Yoongi didn’t even try to speak. “And why would he think admiration is love, hyung?” his voice was softer but more serious now. “He admires all of us, in different ways, yet he has only felt love for you . Why are you so adamant on believing Jungkook couldn’t actually love you?”

Yoongi sighed and let out a saddened laugh. “I know you’re right in all of that, Joon-ah,” he admitted. “I guess the confession being real would be too good to be true.”

Namjoon slowly smiled. “Wait, does that mean that you… feel the same?”

Yoongi blushed, and he hated it. “Shut up.”

“What? I’m just asking!”

“Yes, I might love the brat, happy? And now I’m realizing I could have handled yesterday a lot better.” Yoongi started walking back.

“You still can fix it.” Namjoon’s long strides reached Yoongi in no time. “Actually, you have to fix it. We can’t have both of you acting all weird for the rest of the trip.”

“I know, you’re right,” Yoongi groaned. “Why do feelings always mess things up?” he wondered out loud, before gasping and glaring at Namjoon. “You’re not breathing a word of this to hyung, you hear me?”

Namjoon laughed but nodded. “Sure, whatever you say, hyung.”

“...thanks.”

“...Although you know I’m probably telling him sooner rather than later, right?”

Yoongi huffed and quickened his step, ignoring Namjoon’s loud laughter behind him.

When they boarded the cruise, everyone was amazed at the enormous size of the ship that would take them to Helsinki. How could it even float? It was beyond Yoongi’s imagination.

His talk with Namjoon had left his feelings a little raw, which would explain why his stupid heart skipped a beat when Jungkook and Seokjin reappeared, the maknae now wearing a black hoodie that made Yoongi frown. Random chats with Jungkook let him know that he only wore that hoodie when he wanted to feel happy, which in turn made Yoongi feel guilty for being the cause of Jungkook’s current mood. He really needed to fix things.

He got settled into his room, half glad and half disappointed at having to share with Jimin and Taehyung. The days he had shared a bed with Jungkook had been the days he had rested the best, and he kind of missed it, if he was being honest. After leaving their things and taking a few moments to breathe, they all gathered on the deck of the ship to hangout.

Yoongi was looking forward to seeing Jungkook, but he frowned when the maknae went straight to pick up a chair and place it facing the ocean, once again, giving his back to everyone else. Despite that, Yoongi tried his best at showing a good mood, to seem available in case Jungkook decided to join them. He played with the rest, and he didn’t even say a thing when Seokjin and Namjoon slowly but determinately placed a chair on either side of his own, cornering him.

Jungkook eventually joined them, even if he still remained always a couple of steps away from everyone else. He didn’t dance to get beer, instead preferring to take more pictures (and really, Yoongi was starting to get annoyed at him using his camera to avoid him for the day), when usually he would have been the one to start dancing, if only to make the others laugh. When they toasted and finally drank, Yoongi could only observe as Jungkook drank a little too fast, way more than his hyungs, who had more experience with drinking.

After taking the mandatory memento picture, Jimin left to take a nap, and Seokjin nodded towards the inside of the cruise for Yoongi to follow him, showing surprise on his face when Yoongi did so without complaining even once. They reached Seokjin’s room - empty at the moment - and Yoongi sat down heavily on one of the beds.

“Before you say anything, I’ve realized that I fucked up yesterday,” Yoongi announced before Seokjin could start speaking.

“You- wow,” was all that Seokjin managed to say. “Joonie told me he spoke with you, but I didn’t know he had that much of an effect, to be honest.”

Yoongi laughed. “That’s your partner, Kim Namjoon, you’re talking about,” he reminded him. “Casual philosopher and adamant speaker of reason. He made me listen, even if I didn’t want to.”

Seokjin laughed and sat down on the opposite bed, nodding. “I guess I didn’t think of that,” he replied. “Also, you and him talk way more than we do, I think he was the better option to talk to you from the beginning.”

“Maybe,” Yoongi conceded, playing with his hands as he dared to ask. “How was Jungkook?” he finally let out. “Yesterday, after I….”

Seokjin smiled weakly. “A mess, if you want me to be honest,” he said. “I heard knocks on my door in the middle of the night and there he was, sobbing his eyes out. When I took him to my room he broke down and told me what happened.”

Yoongi lowered his head, ashamed. “I’m so sorry, I made his feelings seem like they were nothing.. I feel like such a shit.”

“Hey, there’s nothing you can do about the past,” Seokjin put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. “Joonie and I managed to calm him down. I knew he would be in a bad mood the whole day if we didn’t do anything about it,” he reasoned. “That’s why we suggested to him to have extra fun today, instead of sulking and feeling miserable by himself. I guess that’s why it seemed to you like nothing was wrong.” Yoongi nodded, finally understanding. “And that’s also why now he seems to be in a mood,” Seokjin continued. “He’s getting tired of pretending he’s all jokes and smiles.”

Yoongi sighed. “I know all too well how that feels. Did he tell you anything else when you left together?”

Seokjin shook his head. “Most of the cameras went with us, so we didn’t have that much of a chance to speak. He was mad at me because he thought I had told you something about last night at the restaurant.”

“I mean, you tried.”

Seokjin hushed him. “But I didn’t,” he pointed out. “Anyway, he said he still felt like crap, and that he was sorry in advance if he let it show eventually. The kid was always good at having a good sulk.”

Yoongi smiled fondly. “I know,” he agreed. “Do you think I ruined it for good? Do you think I could have a chance at… fixing it?”

Seokjin looked seriously at him. “Fix it how, Yoongi?”

He couldn’t believe he was about to spill his guts twice on the same day. “I might actually l-” he grunted when he felt nerves at saying the word. “-I might actually have feelings for Jungkook, too.”

“What kind of feelings?”

“The romantic kind, hyung. I thought that’d be obvious.”

Seokjin tilted his head and showed confusion on his face. “Not that obvious. What do you mean with ‘romantic’?”

“I’m in love with Jeon Jungkook, is that clear enough for you?” Yoongi snapped, annoyed at his hyung’s ridiculous questioning.

The other smiled widely and nodded. “Clear enough. Joonie actually told me that earlier when he recounted your conversation.”

“T-Then why did you…”

“Oh, I just wanted to hear you say it. You hate expressing out loud so I figured you deserved it after being such an idiot with Jungkookie,” he explained, making Yoongi blush in a mix of embarrassment and irritation.

“You’re not funny, hyung.”

Seokjin waved his comment away. “This wasn’t a joke, Yoongi-ssi. It was punishment. Now,” he clapped once, “you still can fix things with Jungkookie. All you have to do is confess your feelings, since I’m sure Jungkook won’t want to do it ever again, so now it’s up to you to approach him.”

“How?” Yoongi wondered. “The brat made an amazing job at avoiding me all day, it won’t be that easy.”

Seokjin hummed as he considered it. “Wait until tomorrow,” he suggested. “We’ll be in Helsinki, a new setting, maybe he’ll feel better and that’s where you are going to enter the scene, alright?”

“Alright.” Yoongi stated with determination, his will faltering for a second. “But hyung, how do you exactly confess your feelings? I’ve never done it before.”

Seokjin let out his loudest laugh yet and patted Yoongi’s shoulder once before standing up. “I’m sure you’ll find a way, you coward,” he answered with a smile. “Jungkook is younger, as shy as you are, and even he managed to confess without coming to his hyungs for advice on how to do it.”

The day felt somehow fixed after Yoongi finally talked with Seokjin - and with Namjoon, as well. He now knew how things were, he had a planned course of action, so all he had to do for the moment was wait .

Waiting turned out to be harder than he thought it’d be.

During dinner time, he sat right across Jungkook, with dozens of things threatening to leave his mouth, but holding off just enough because it wasn’t time yet . Things were made easier for him when Jungkook decided to leave for the arcade with Seokjin and Taehyung, leaving the rest of them to go back to their rooms to take a nap.

They were woken up a couple of hours later to make an announcement. A shitty announcement; no, the worst announcement.

Everyone had serious faces as Namjoon sadly let them know that he wouldn’t continue the trip with them. He saw the mix of concerned and pissed off expression Seokjin was trying to conceal, and more important, he locked gazes with Jungkook, who was sitting in front of him. He tried to offer a supportive smile, not too small to discourage him, not too big to seem fake. Jungkook weakly smiled back before looking back to Namjoon, but Yoongi considered a small step in the right direction.

Needless to say, their night overall was ruined after the news. Remember that about fixing the day? Well, now Yoongi was convinced this would remain his least favorite day of the whole trip. Things could only look up from here.

Notes:

You know what to do, indeed.
Plot aside, let's all agree right here and now that Namjoon announcing he was leaving before the rest on BV S1 was the saddest day of their otherwise fun trip :(
As always, all feedback is welcome :D

Chapter Text

Yoongi’s POV

Yoongi had fallen asleep using his iPad, somehow he hoped the device held the answer to how on earth he was supposed to confess to Jungkook. It didn’t. Instead, he wrote random stuff and watched videos. Not very productive if you ask him.

They were leaving the cruise since they had arrived at their destination, this was the last length of their trip. They also had to part ways with Namjoon, he wasn’t looking forward to that.

Before they parted ways the crew let them know they’d be doing a VLive transmission, to share with ARMY they were doing just great. Somehow he had ended next to Jungkook, and he didn’t miss the way he did his very best not to touch him, leaning towards Jin and holding his hands together. Yoongi was to blame for this, Jungkook seemed tired. They needed to talk, Yoongi had to apologize and confess his feelings, but this was easier said than done.

Saying goodbye to Namjoon didn’t go smoothly. After the transmission, they had to get their bags and had to meet after to bid goodbyes with Joonie. When Yoongi arrived at the meeting point Namjoon, Jin, Hobi and Jungkook were already there. Each of them had a different look on their faces. Their leader tried not to look sad, he even had his glasses on, but it only came across as an awkward expression. Jin didn’t look better, but he also managed to frown at him. Hobi seemed annoyed at him? What had he done to him? And Jungkook, he avoided his gaze and remained far from him, seeing him like that wrenched Yoongi’s heart. He didn’t mean to hurt him any longer, but he couldn’t find the right time to pour out his feelings.

After leaving Joonie behind, yeah that sucked , he shook everyone’s hands as a goodbye and said their farewells, it hadn’t been easy.

They took a taxi to get to the place where they’d get their camping car and receive a quick user demonstration. He ended up between Hobi and Jimin. Tae, Jin, and Jungkook were in another taxi with the rest of the crew.

“Yoongi-hyung” Jimin’s almost whisper interrupted the silence in the car. The camera wasn’t on.

“Yes, Jimin?” Yoongi already knew where this conversation was going. The awkwardness between Jungkook and him hadn’t gone unnoticed.

“Is something wrong… No, I mean, something’s going on with you and Jungkookie? He seems off…” Jimin’s expression seemed worried.

“I… I know Jimin. I’m working on it…”

“You’re working on it?” Hobi’s question surprised Yoongi, he was even frowning at him, he suspected Jungkook had told him about what had happened.

“I am, guys… I… Just, trust me on this.” He looked at Hobi, hoping his intention came across.

Their conversation was interrupted by the crew guy that was with them. They had arrived at their destination.

They had to wait before the camping staff was available to explain how the camping car worked. Yoongi knew this was his chance to talk with Jungkook. He went to where he was, and found him fooling around with Jimin, Tae, and Jin, “Jungkook-ah, can we… I… can we talk?” Had Yoongi forgotten how to speak properly? Add to that four set of eyes staring at him as if he was a complete stranger speaking in an unknown language. Jungkook looked at Jin as if he was seeking guidance, Jin just nodded and gave him a little push.

Yoongi led the way to a bench near the building. Jungkook sat down first and stared at Yoongi, those big brown eyes did something to Yoongi’s heart. “Jungkook, I… I owe you an apology” yeah that wasn’t the best thing to say, but he needed to start somewhere. “Hyung… What…” Jungkook sounded hurt. “I shouldn’t have assumed your feelings weren’t real. I just… I’m really sorry Jungkookie. I know I hurt you, and for that I… It’s just that... “ Yoongi was interrupted by the crew calling them to go inside, the explanation was about to begin.

He looked at Jungkook and he seemed surprised. “What a terrible timing… agh… Jungkook-ah, I still have more to say… For the time being let’s go inside. We’ll talk later.” Yoongi tried to give Jungkook the most reassuring smile he could possibly come up with. He got up and waited for Jungkook to get up as well, they walked together to go inside.

Jungkook’s POV

Yup, somehow Jungkook had lost his mind. Had he hit his head and was now seeing hallucinations? Or was Yoongi abducted by aliens and this was his replacement?

He wasn’t expecting an apology. Much less the promise to talk more, Yoongi still had more to say. Jungkook didn’t want to create false hopes only to be brought down. But here he was, sitting next to Yoongi, awfully close, and Jin looking at them with a smug look on his face.

But now what was he supposed to do? Yes, Yoongi apologized for diminishing his feelings, but did that mend the damage done? Jungkook wasn’t one to hold grudges for too long. And he was still foolishly in love with Yoongi. Maybe Yoongi would reject him flatly later. Or… the alternative was too good to even consider it at the moment. Nonetheless, Jungkook hoped his hyung felt the same way.

After they watched the video about the functioning of the camping car and after the hands-on explanation they were ready to go.

Jungkook sat next to Tae and in front of Jin. Jimin had been in front of Yoongi but he wanted to switch seats. Jungkook suggested they switch, however, his words were drowned by everyone else’s. He ended up changing seats with Hobi hyung.

Jungkook was hungry. Hobi hyung was hungry. And Yoongi hyung was taking photos of him? Out of nowhere, he saw a camera lens focusing on him, for a moment his heart stopped beating. Then Yoongi focused on everyone else. Jungkook’s heart resumed its beating.

To say that Jungkook was feeling a bit happier was an understatement, he even managed to make everyone laugh. Included Yoongi. This made Jungkook feel proud of himself.

The crew let them know they were stopping to eat, they’d also buy groceries needed for the next days. Yoongi received the money and Jungkook almost laughed when Hobi called him cruel. That was a consequence of telling Hoseok what had happened. The previous night he had “forced” him to be honest, he had noticed Jungkook’s odd mood and wanted to know what was going on, his dongsaeng couldn’t be sad. After Jungkook explained everything Hoseok was both surprised and upset. He mentioned Yoongi sometimes could be the most oblivious human to emotions. He promised to make Yoongi pay for his behavior and hugged Jungkook.

They walked around a commercial area when Yoongi announced they were eating at a hamburger place, Jungkook happily announced he loved hamburgers, at what Jungkook could swear he heard Yoongi mumble “I know” .

If Yoongi was trying to make him happy he was succeeding.

After eating they embarked on a mission to find a store to buy groceries. But before that they ran into some big and adorable dogs, they even got to play with them. Well, this day was already promising to be better.

At the store Jungkook and his hyungs (Hobi, Jin, and Tae) were playing around, Jungkook pretended to be a dog, and Jungkook thought that could brighten Jin’s mood and his own. He looked at Yoongi and he was having none of it, Jungkook was amused at how focused he seemed on buying the right things for their dinner and the days after.

On their way back Yoongi decided to carry the camera. Leaving the rest to carry the bags.

Somehow Jungkook ended carrying all the bags, he lost to his hyungs playing rock-paper-scissors , and barely managed to carry them to the camping car, Yoongi stayed by his side, recording his misery, Yoongi merely laughed.

A couple of hours later they arrived at the camping site, the crew parked the camping cars and told the boys they had to prepare their dinner.

Jungkook noticed Yoongi was struggling to adjust the awning, and since he was in such a good mood he decided to help him. And complete success, call him smooth Jungkook .

Jungkook was hungry, Yoongi and Jin couldn’t start the fire to cook their food. Jungkook was in charge of cooking the ramen, and somehow Hoseok thought that dancing to “Fire” would help, and oh well , Jungkook might as well join him. It didn’t help, but they did amuse their hyungs. Jungkook decided to help them, maybe his childhood experience could be helpful.

The only way Jungkook thought the fire could get started was by fanning it real fast. It worked. The coal was already catching the fire for itself without the need of the inflammable liquid.

With the fire ready, the rest went to prepare the food. Yoongi stayed with Jungkook fanning the fire. There was something about them fanning the fire that melted Jungkook’s heart. It was so domestic and Yoongi seemed at ease. Jungkook remembered Yoongi still had more to say, but Jungkook wasn’t ready to hear it, be it bad or good news. So he went and told his hyung about his childhood helping his grandma, Yoongi listened to him intently.

When everything was ready they were ready to eat. Before they started, Jin said the toast, he missed Namjoon, his expression gave it away.

They ate and drank. Food was delicious and everyone seemed to be enjoying their time. Jungkook was happy.

When they were done eating and were done storing the things that needed to be stored, Hoseok, V, and Jungkook went to wash up first.  When they returned the rest went to wash up. With everyone showered and ready to sleep Jimin turned off the lights and they said their good nights.

Before Jungkook fell asleep Yoongi was tapping his head, “Jungkook-ah, can you… I mean, can we talk? Not here, it stopped raining so we can go outside…” Yoongi’s hushed tone was to avoid waking the rest. “Hyung… now?” Jungkook’s voice was also low. “Yes, please. It’s… it’s important.” At this, Jungkook’s heart skipped a beat. “Fine, let me get down.” Jungkook somehow managed to get down from the bed without waking up Hoseok and Jin.

He followed Yoongi to a small park with benches. They sat on one. The only light they had came from the night sky. He looked at Yoongi and he seemed to be nervous. This made Jungkook nervous, not that he wasn’t already, but it just made him more nervous. He couldn’t tell how fast his heart was beating. He kept his hands inside the pockets of his happy black hoodie and the hood on.

“Jungkook-ah… I told you I still had more to say, so, uh… Guess this is a good time to do it” He looked at Jungkook and took a deep breath.

“When you told me how you felt about me, that really came as a surprise, you know? And I... I can be pretty dense sometimes…” Yoongi scratched his chin. Jungkook remained silent, what was he even supposed to say?

“What I’m trying to say is… There was this little voice telling me that you being in love with me was too good to be true... Like what part of me…” At this Yoongi simply pointed his hands at his whole body, as if saying what part of me did you even fall for?

“But that’s not important, not anymore... Yesterday I… I realized something I was too afraid to acknowledge.” Yoongi looked straight into Jungkook’s eyes, he was fidgeting with his fingers.

“Actually Joonie helped me… Jungkook-ah I think… I think I’m in love with you too.”

Jungkook stared at Yoongi, he looked unsure, yet he didn’t stop looking at him.

Jungkook opened and closed his mouth, unable to say a word. A million thoughts crossed his mind; what was Yoongi afraid of? Joonie helped him? What do you mean what part I fell for!? Wait, Yoongi is in love with me!!??

“I know this might be too sudden, given the way I reacted, I’m not even sure what this means for us, but I am certain that I have feelings for you… Being in love with you, it’s just… I’ve never felt this way before. Yet, I confused it with fondness, with me being your hyung and taking care of you… I just… I hope you… I hope you forgive me for my blindness… And maybe we can… we can explore what we become from now on…”

Jungkook’s brain stopped working. He hadn’t thought about what would happen if Yoongi felt the same. Yoongi.Felt.The.Same . Jungkook was catching up with his thoughts. His mind was a chaos. They had to think about their future, what they being together meant for BTS, they’d had to be careful on public, what would their relationship be… Too many things to think about...

Yet, under the moonlight, Jungkook noticed how beautiful Yoongi looked. Vulnerable and raw emotions. Wide-eyed and hopeful expression. His gaze was focused on Jungkook. The sight of Yoongi in front of him eased his thoughts. Everything would be okay, they’d figure out their way.

So he smiled, for he was a fool. A fool in love.

Chapter Text

Jungkook was woken up by his hyungs, Hoseok got up first and Jin after. Jungkook was sleepy. Hoseok warned him to watch his head. He rolled around in the bed, looking at the camping car ceiling he remembered the events from the previous night. He felt like a character from a shojo manga.

Last night Yoongi had confessed his feelings. And when he noticed Jungkook’s foolishly in love smile he sighed relieved and took one Jungkook’s hands in his, he expressed his worries for Jungkook was too silent but was reassured with his smile.

Jungkook regained his ability to speak and so the pair stayed at the park talking. Talking about telling the rest about them, about what they’ll do from then on, talking about the feelings left unspoken before. They were honest with each other. They were finally on the same page. Jungkook was starting to feel sleepy, Yoongi noticed it, so they walked back to the camping car, before they arrived Yoongi stopped and Jungkook stopped as well, he looked at Jungkook’s eyes, grabbed him by his hoodie and pulled him closer, Jungkook was lost in Yoongi’s intense gaze, he noticed Yoongi was staring at his lips, he also noticed Yoongi was standing on his toes, so he leaned down and let him lead the way.

Jungkook closed his eyes and immediately felt the touch of Yoongi’s lips on his. It was a tender kiss. Yoongi put his arms around Jungkook’s neck and Jungkook placed his arms around Yoongi’s waist. In that kiss Jungkook felt all that Yoongi hadn’t been able to express with words. Yoongi pulled apart and smiled at Jungkook. He took his hand and they walked to the camping car. Nothing else was said. Yoongi got in his bed and Jungkook did as well, careful of not waking up his hyungs.

Jungkook realized it was time to get up. He got down from the bed and got ready. Getting ready basically meant putting his hoodie and sneakers on.

He went outside and found Yoongi cleaning, he noticed his presence, “Morning Jungkook-ah” he smiled at him and blushed; “Morning hyung” Jungkook was no better. He was probably redder than Yoongi.

The rest joined them outside and they “did” their morning exercises. None of them knew the exact routine so they were pretty much playing around.

By the time they were ready, the crew announced they were going to the beach. It was a cloudy morning and the sea seemed to be at ease. They played around on the beach, Jungkook was obsessed with the word hyvä, don’t ask him why, it just sounds cool. They ended up dancing Save Me, neat and cool . The crew filmed their dancing with the drone.

They went back to the camping car, both Yoongi and Jungkook were calmer, being around the rest was calming, still, Jin gave them a knowing look, as if saying, I know what you did last night.

Jungkook decided to lean on Hoseok, he grabbed his shoulders and walked lazily. Hoseok grabbed Jin’s broad shoulders. Jungkook felt a pair of hands on his shoulders, Yoongi was behind him, he just went along with the joke, but there was something different about Yoongi’s long fingers on his shoulders.

Back at the camping car, the boys divided the chores to be efficient. He was standing next to Yoongi, they decided to be the pair in charge of the trash, why did they even do a side hug? Apparently being in charge of the trash was exciting , Hoseok and Jimin were in charge of washing the dishes, Jin and Tae were in charge of cleaning.

They waited for trash to be gathered, Tae handed Jungkook a pair of plastic bags and this was the sign for Yoongi and Jungkook to flee, they walked to throw out the bags. Their walk was silent, the kind of silence that was comfortable. On their way back they talked about trivial things, the weather and other stuff. They did another walk to throw away more trash, and this time Jungkook decided to sing, his voice was low and soft. It wasn’t exactly a love song, yet when he looked at Yoongi he was blushing.

When they were done Yoongi found sweet potatoes that were cooked the previous night, he took one and offered other to Jungkook, they also offered some to the crew. They ate only commenting on how good they tasted, Jungkook liked that, he felt at ease with Yoongi. Something as simple as eating sweet potatoes made his heart feel like a balloon floating in the air.

When everyone was done with their tasks the crew announced they were ready to go. Although Jimin was gone, he went to the restroom , they started leaving without him. Finally, the driver stopped and let Jimin enter the camping car.

With them complete, almost , the camping cars left the camping site and they were on the road to get to Rovaniemi.

Yoongi and Jungkook didn't sit close at the tables, to not be too obvious? Jungkook was next to Jin and Yoongi was again in front of Hoseok. Jin and Jungkook start bickering around, “Jungkookie, you finally made up with Yoongi, didn’t you? You guys are so adorable…” Jin looked at Jungkook as if he was a proud parent, was he partially responsible for Yoongi’s confession? “Hyung… Please don’t…” Jungkook was embarrassed. “Okay, okay… We’ll talk later about it…” Jin winked an eye at Jungkook and he turned on his iPad. Jungkook took the opportunity to go to a bed and read webtoons, he looked at Yoongi and found him staring at the window, he seemed lost in thought, Jungkook couldn’t help but smile at the sight. The crew let them know it’d be a long ride to their destination. Jimin and Tae joined him, Jimin was reading a comic book and Tae was also reading webtoons.

In between reading, Jungkook decided to update the rest of the maknae line on him and Yoongi, the previous night they had decided to tell the boys instead of keeping it secret. Tae and Jimin listened to him and expressed their support for the pair, they hugged-sandwich him. Eventually, the three of them fell asleep.

Yoongi’s POV

When Jungkook left the table and the rest of the maknae line as well, Yoongi knew it was time to talk with Jin and Hoseok, since both of them already knew what had happened he explained that he made things right, and that he and Jungkook were going to see where things could go, they felt no need to label what they were, however, the pair had been serious about their feelings. With being an idol they had to be careful, Jin nodded at that. When Yoongi finished, Jin and Hoseok reprimanded him for taking too long to realize his feelings, however, they were happy for them. They wished him the best and warned him if he ever hurt their baby kookie they’d make him regret it, Yoongi promised to do his best not to hurt their golden maknae.

Yoongi decided to visit Jungkook and was surprised when he found him sound asleep, Tae and Jimin were asleep as well. He was awed at the sight of a sleeping Jungkookie. He decided to let them sleep and went back to his seat.

Yoongi decided to take a nap during the rest of the trip.

Chapter Text

“-ah”

“-kook-ah”

What a nice dream . Jungkook smiled and curled on his side, planning to keep sleeping.

A big hand placed itself on his shoulder and gently shook him. “Wake up, Jungkook-ah.”

“Huh?” Jungkook opened one of his eyes to find one flustered Min Yoongi standing before him. “Hyung?”

Yoongi smiled tentatively at him. “Sorry, but we’ve arrived at Rovaniemi. Everyone is waiting for us outside.”

Jungkook rubbed his eyes as he stretched. “Everyone?” he repeated. “Why did you stay back?” And yes, maybe his sleepy brain kept thinking the previous night had all been a dream.

Yoongi shifted awkwardly. “Yeah, I, uh… told the others I would wake you up, you know?”

“Oh…” Jungkook’s eyes widened, sitting up immediately. “OH!” He fumbled with his hands, laughing a little. “For a second I thought I had been dreaming all along,” he confessed.

Yoongi crunched up his nose and nodded. “If I had taken a nap, I’d probably think the same.”

“Yeah.”

“Yes, so…”

“So?”

“So what?”

Jungkook shrugged and widened his eyes, starting to raise. “I don’t know, you said “so” first, so…” so I don’t really know what to say or do or how to act around you.

“Jungkook-ah,” Yoongi sighed, clenching and releasing his hands a couple of times. “Let’s not be awkward around each other, alright?” Jungkook was ready to protest. We’re so not being awkward, what are you talking about?, when Yoongi continued. “I have no idea of what I’m doing either.”

That made him pause. “You don’t?”

“I told you yesterday, didn’t I? We’re figuring this out as we go, seeing how we do, all that stuff.”

Jungkook shook his head softly and sighed. “It’s weird to know there’s something you don’t know, hyung. I’m just…” he waved his hands around, “so terribly awkward, and not even on purpose. What am I supposed to do?”

Yoongi offered a hand and he took it without hesitation. With a slight pull, Jungkook stumbled into his waiting arms. “You and me, Jungkook-ah,” Yoongi whispered as he hugged him, Jungkook blushing but promptly hugging back, “we’re really similar, you know?” He squeezed him once before pulling away. “Use that to your advantage. If you want to say or do anything, it’s probable I'd want it too, same goes with things you wouldn’t want to do.” Yoongi ruffled his head, making the younger move away from his hand. As he scowled, Yoongi smirked and turned around. “We’ll wait for you outside, come on,” he called out, leaving the camping car.

Jungkook allowed a cheesy smile to show now that nobody could see him while he tried to fix his bed hair.

What I’d like to say or do… let's see how that works out.

When Jungkook got off the bus, everyone threw him knowing glances, and he was soon aware that everyone already knew about the… shift in Yoongi’s and his relationship. At least he had dodged that bullet, imagine how awkward that would have been.

They went looking for a place to eat, most of them preferring to eat Chinese food instead of (more) burgers. Jungkook didn’t let that dampen his mood, holding hands with Jin and Hobi, hopping onto Jimin and Taehyung’s backs since it would be unusual to do these things with Yoongi in front of a camera.

As soon as they found where to eat, Jin pulled him aside while everyone seated and Yoongi paid for their meals.

“I take it things went well?” he teased.

Jungkook sighed happily and nodded. “I was a little obvious, wasn’t I? Sorry for earlier,” he apologized, even if he wasn’t sorry at all.

Jin laughed and shook his head. “You’re happy, we get it. Lucky for you we aren’t against sudden displays of affection,” he thought for a second before teasing him. “And lucky for us, Yoongi doesn’t act as fluffy as you do.”

“Hyung,” Jungkook whined. Was this ‘make Jungkook turn red’ day or something? “Stop it.”

Jin raised his arms in defense. “Hey, I’m not saying anything that isn’t true. Just… be careful with the cameras, alright?”

Jungkook nodded firmly. “I will, hyung.” Jin turned to join the rest at their table but Jungkook called his name for a last question. “Hey, Jin-hyung! How…” he paused. “How are you with….?”

Jin smiled a bit. “Without Joonie, you mean?” he shrugged. “There isn’t much I can do now, you know? We’ve been texting non-stop since he left and he feels awful for ‘ruining’ our trip but-”

“Namjoon-hyung didn’t ruin anything” Jungkook interrupted him.

“I know, Jungkookie,” Jin replied. “But we know Namjoon, he feels responsible for everything that happens. He’s a little better now, says he’ll use the extra time in Korea to write songs and wait for us.” He sighed. “I already miss him.”

Jungkook quickly but firmly hugged his hyung for a second. “You’ll see him soon, hyung. Now you have to enjoy the trip for both of you, right?”

“Right,” Jin looked at the table and grinned. “You better rush or someone will sit next to Yoongi before you get the chance.”

Jungkook tried his best to pretend he didn’t run to the table right after Jin stopped speaking.

Jungkook managed to sit himself right between Yoongi and Jimin, and while they chose their food and ate everyone was mostly silent, Yoongi sharing and stealing bits of food with (and from) him.

He was well aware of today’s agenda. They had a long bike ride that would take most of their afternoon and with cameras installed on each bike, Jungkook wouldn’t get any privacy with Yoongi until the last hours of the day.

Decided, he firmly planted a hand on Yoongi's knee, squeezing tightly once (Oh, please, please, please , get the hint, hyung) before standing up. “I’m going to the bathroom,” he unnecessarily announced, accidentally stepping on Jimin’s foot as he hurriedly left the table.

Fortunately, the bathroom was individual since the place was small, and Jungkook quickly locked himself inside, taking deep breaths to calm down after his sudden (and quite reckless) decision. Soon enough, there were three quick taps on the door and Yoongi's voice was heard on the other side.

“Yah, what the hell was that?”

Jungkook opened the door and pulled Yoongi with him, locking them inside the bathroom once more. “Sorry, hyung,” he panted. “I thought too much, I panicked and,” he shrugged. “Here we are.”

Yoongi rolled his eyes but smiled. “You’re lucky I like you, Jungkook-ah.”

Jungkook was flustered but he took a step closer instead of freezing or becoming a mess as he usually would. “Shouldn’t you consider yourself the lucky one?”

“I don’t know, what’s in it for me, huh?”

A hand unconsciously caressed Yoongi’s jacket-covered arm. “Wouldn’t you like me to show you?”

Yoongi’s eyes widened and ( finally ) for once, he was the one blushing. “Stop that,” he mumbled.

“Stop what?” Jungkook asked innocently.

“You’re flirting,” he accused him.

“You’re imagining things, hyung. I don’t know how to flirt,” he defended himself. Yoongi looked at him and shook his head.

“Nah, I’m not buying it,” Yoongi decided. “You’ve been around Jin-hyung for too long. You were flirting.”

“You don’t want me to stop that,” Jungkook said back, not denying it any longer. “You told me we were similar, didn't you? So I know you secretly like it but won’t ever admit it,” he concluded proudly.

Yoongi looked like he had discovered a whole new side to Jungkook (it was all a front to tease him, but Yoongi didn’t have to know that), and he didn’t know what to do with it.

Victory.

Yoongi stared right into Jungkook’s eyes, a smirk slowly appearing on his face. He stepped even closer, their chests now touching and forcing Jungkook to look down at him. Yoongi stayed silent as he raised a hand and curled it around Jungkook’s neck, thumb caressing his jaw and index finger tickling his ear.

Jungkook closed his eyes at the contact, earning a laugh from the other. “Careful, Jungkook . Two can play this game.”

Victory? As he gulped, Jungkook wasn’t that sure anymore.

Everyone was already pedalling away by the time Jungkook realized he had totally forgotten his camera. He took a hand off the handlebars to smack himself in the forehead.

Yoongi’s and his little… whatever , had been cut short when Jin went looking for them. His teasing yell to ‘stop making out, your food is getting cold!’ resulted in both of them exiting the bathroom with red faces, and Jin probably assuming they have been doing way less innocent activities than what actually transpired.

After eating and messing around outside with Jin and Taehyung, Jungkook realized what he’d made. Based on what he already knew from Yoongi himself, he knew his hyung wouldn’t take a figurative step unless Jungkook did it first or let it show that it was okay. That was why, besides helping carrying the water they bought, Jungkook tried to stay away from Yoongi at the moment.

By flirting with Yoongi he had blurred yet another of their lines, and who knows how far Yoongi would take it? Jungkook was equally excited and worried to see what would happen.

Excited because, well, come on, this was quite literally one of his dreams coming true, who wouldn’t be excited about that? And concerned because that terrible timing. Were they during one of their breaks, everything would be great. More than great, even. Perfect. But they were in the middle of Europe, with a slightly full schedule (a relaxing one, but still) and cameras on them more often than not.

He smiled too openly at Yoongi as they stopped in a bridge to take pictures, laughing a little when he saw Yoongi had forgotten his camera as well. Knowing he wasn’t the only one being messed with made him feel lots better. He was sure they’d make it work somehow.

“Let's stop here for a while, everyone!”

The place they stopped at to stretch their legs was quite simple, with an open theater where Jungkook showed off his extra dancing abilities, and a playground close by, with bits of a forest surrounding the area. He saw everyone leaving for the playground, so Jungkook quickly made himself scarce. He sat on the bottom row of the open theater, well away from the playground area, and more important, well away from the camera people.

“Is isolating yourself a talent?”

Jungkook smiled as Yoongi sat next to him. “Wanted to escape the cameras for a bit,” he explained.

“You mind if I join you?” he asked.

“Not at all,” Jungkook put his hands between his knees to warm them up, looking at the empty stage instead of Yoongi. Well, this is going to get awkward soon, isn’t it? And so Jungkook decided to dissipate the tension. “Do you want us to kiss again, hyung?”

“W-What?” Yoongi stuttered, taken aback. “For real, Jungkook-ah, one doesn’t ask those kind of questions out of the blue, did you know that?” He dramatically placed a hand over his chest. “You almost gave me a heart attack.”

“Argh,” Jungkook groaned in frustration, looking at the cloudy sky. “I told you I was going to get awkward, didn’t I? I thought that was better than staying all quiet and weird,” he shrugged, now staring intently at his lap.

“Jungkook-ah,” the older’s voice was suddenly closer, and Jungkook turned his head to find Yoongi’s face inches away from his own.

“What?” he whispered, trying not to tense up with nervousness.

“Stop thinking so much for a while.”

Jungkook nodded, and considering Yoongi had started their first kiss the previous night, he closed his eyes and made it even, their lips touching less than a second after Jungkook decided to move.

Kissing was… certainly an experience, he decided. Giving his teenage years to the group and the idol life had never allowed him to date, not that he had wanted to. He was so naturally wary of girls that it was surprising he didn’t suspect he was gay before he fell in love with Yoongi. Being with Yoongi, kissing Yoongi was scary too, but not in a bad way.

He felt Yoongi’s hand take his to squeeze his fingers. A silent reminder. Don’t think so much, Jungkook. And finally, he allowed to shut his brain off for a little bit.

Yoongi’s POV

“Ah!! My eyes!!”

Yoongi and Jungkook sprung apart in less than a second, faces gone red and eyes wide with surprise. “Hyung!” Jungkook yelled as he covered his hair with his hood once more.

After Jungkook gained confidence, he refused to stop kissing Yoongi until they were interrupted. Yoongi hadn’t planned on their first make out session to happen on a moist open theater, but one hardly could plan these things, right? He might be older, but Yoongi was almost as inexperienced as Jungkook himself. Not that he would admit it anytime soon; they certainly needed to feel like one of them knew what they were doing sometimes.

Their helmets had been tossed to the ground in favor to get closer without breaking their necks, hands grabbing shoulders, waist, hips, but never bare skin, not after Yoongi got chills when Jungkook tried to caress his face (“Hands from shoulders down, Jungkook-ah, we’re fucking freezing.”, “Ah, sorry, hyung.”).

“Argh! I can’t believe it, why here of all places, yah?”

“Who you’re telling “yah”, huh? Jung Hoseok, you better shut up!” Yoongi yelled back, crouching to pick his helmet up, putting it on before passing Jungkook his. “Ignore him, or he’ll just keep annoying you,” he said in a lower voice to the younger.

Jungkook looked almost completely composed already; his hood only let his face show, and his slightly reddened lips could be explained away by the cold temperature. “Uh, I guess we better go and join them before someone else decides to come too.”

“Yeah, sure.” They started climbing up the steps of the theater when Yoongi stopped the maknae. He needed to be sure. “Hey, we’re not being awkward anymore, right?”

Jungkook smiled widely, showing his teeth as he shook his head. “What is awkwardness? I don’t know it, hyung.”

Yoongi laughed as he ran up the remaining steps, dragging Hoseok off with him and leaving him alone. If I had known all we needed to clear the air was physical affection we should have done this yesterday.

When the rest finished their impromptu soccer match, they returned to their bikes to make the ride back to their starting point. Unfortunately - or fortunately, in Yoongi’s case - the rain got too hard for them to ride safely so they had to stop and wait for a vehicle to pick them up.

They took refuge from the rain and messed around, Yoongi in a mood too good to be ruined when Hoseok sneakily told Jimin what he had seen in the open theater. He didn’t even scolded them, only rolling his eyes when Jimin looked at him with surprise.

He watched Jungkook play with Seokjin and Taehyung and only hoped they wouldn’t find out yet. Knowing glances from two members of Bangtan would be already enough for a day.

After a quick stop to finally try dishes with reindeer meat, they boarded the camping car yet again to travel to the sauna. The landscape was amazing, and Yoongi lamented not bringing his camera since the humid air would damage the device. Before entering the sauna they had to change to white robes, leaving their jackets and hats aside.

The sauna was amazing, a figurative breath of fresh air after feeling like his nose was dying due to the cold air in Finland. They tried to play games to see who would do the tradition Yoongi had researched about, and it came to bite him in the ass when he was dragged to the lake despite not losing any of the games. He was really going to kill Park Jimin.

He had to admit it, though. Watching Jungkook being his usual self, making everyone laugh and managing to send both Jimin and Taehyung to the lake with a couple of words was a sight to behold.

After everyone felt the dumbing cold from the lake and consequent warmth of the hot tub, they decided to play one last round.

Yoongi trusted the wrong person.

When Hoseok and him were left as the last two people playing, it felt like this particular rock, paper, scissors was crucial for everyone. After the count, Yoongi formed scissors with his hands, waiting until everyone felt their hands under the water to know the result beforehand.

A particular hand stood out - Jungkook’s of course - the younger playing with his fingers, grasping firmly and trying to make a whole fist. Hoseok has scissors, then. Thank you, Jungkook. He swiftly changed his hand from scissors to rock, excited and confident about his win.

Jeon Jungkook, you traitor , he thought as the freezing cold water entered his nostrils while everyone laughed from the deck above him.

After the fun came the heartfelt moment, the six of them - with Namjoon’s absence still noticeable - gathered in chairs as they read letters from their manager and Bang PD himself. All the serious talk got everyone tired, and they decided to fall asleep early. Yoongi went to wash himself and rushed to his bed in the camping car, surprised when he found bodies there.

Bodies, as in, more than one, which would have been easier to explain.

“Tae wanted a cuddle, and Jungkook was the nearest victim. He was waiting for you but I guess he was too tired,” Jin called out from his bed, laughing at Yoongi’s expression.

Yoongi just smiled and walked to Taehyung’s assigned bed, getting comfortable in a few seconds.

Things were good, Jungkook and him could ‘have a cuddle’ on another occasion.

Notes:

I gotta say, personally, this was my favorite chapter to write! I think from the get go I was dying for moments like these to happen in the moments we aren't shown, and I'm weak for softess and good feelings, so there ^^
What about you? Have you ever thought of what happens on those endless hours between aired footage that we can't see? You can let me know in a comment ;)
Thanks for reading! Onto the last chapter, everyone!

Chapter 10: Dangerous

Chapter Text

Jungkook had set his mind the previous night to photograph the sunrise, so the annoying noise he was listening near his face made sense. He turned around to stop the alarm before it woke his hyungs. He was ready to kiss the body next to him when he noticed it was the wrong hyung - oh right , Tae had captured him last night to be his hugging pillow, and in his tiredness he didn't refuse - he got up, put his shoes on and grabbed his camera. Before he went outside, he looked at the bed where Tae should've been sleeping and simply stared at Yoongi; it was a sight he could never get tired off. He realized if he continued staring he would miss the sunrise, so he shook his head and went outside.

When he was satisfied with the photos he had taken, he returned to the car and faced a critical choice: either he went back to Tae's side or joined Yoongi's, he played with the idea and decided he better not risk his luck, who knows, he knew , what he could do with Yoongi sleeping next to him.

Once again Jungkook was awaken by an external source. Said source was an awake Tae moving around, he barely heard him ask what he was doing there.

After washing up Jungkook went back and helped his hyungs clean the RV, Yoongi and Tae had gone to wash up.

With a cleaned RV they were on their way to the Santa Village, finally Jungkook and Yoongi sat next to each other; being this close to his hyung felt different, there was this intimacy that Jungkook didn't have to freak out if their legs were touching, which they were , and he could stare at his hyung without worrying about him noticing he was doing so. Last day they had taken one step, or two , in whatever they were (they were still figuring that out).

“Jungkook-ah” Yoongi’s voice pulled Jungkook out of his haze.

“Hyung?” Jungkook hadn’t meant his voice to sound that high, still, his voice did as it pleased.

“Wanna listen to music?” At this Yoongi offered an earbud (Jungkook had returned the earphones Yoongi had lent him at the beginning of their trip). Jungkook meant to say that they didn’t exactly listen to the same music, but this was Yoongi, offering an earbud, and oh well, how could he refuse?

The rest of the trip they stayed in a comfortable silence, Yoongi was mindlessly observing the scenery outside and Jungkook was playing with his iPad.

When they arrived at the ‘Santa Village’ two ‘elves’ received them to guide them through the park. Jungkook had to admit his not-so-inner child was hyped about it: a place where it was always Christmas, how cooler could it get?

They followed the ‘elves’ through the entrance, Jungkook and Yoongi were walking next to each other when he then felt a hand on his lower back, that caught him off-guard and sent a shiver down his spine, he looked at Yoongi and he seemed calm, but Jungkook knew better, Yoongi was a master at keeping a poker face, so Jungkook leaned closer to Yoongi and whisper in his ear, “already this possessive, hyung?” Jungkook did his best at evoking a sexy voice, which might have worked cuz Yoongi blushed immediately. Before Yoongi could retaliate Jimin asked for a bathroom stop, they just got there and he already needed to go to the restroom? , Jungkook was surprised when Jin and Yoongi followed Jimin towards the restroom.

When they returned, they continued their ‘tour’ which led them to a stage. Jungkook did his best at holding his laughter when he saw Yoongi going to the stage and immediately going back when the rest started dancing. Jungkook shoulder-hugged Yoongi and proudly announced that they ‘got along’, Yoongi announced that he had lost his childhood innocence already, and why was Jungkook blushing at this? his mind sure interpreted that differently.

Being recorded didn’t exactly leave room for Jungkook to act lovey-dovey with Yoongi, so he did his very best at acting normal, whatever that meant (some lines become blurry when you’ve been living with the same guys for 5 years).

Their next stop was Santa’s Office. Unfortunately, Santa wasn’t there. The bastard surely was on a holiday . However, this didn’t stop Hoseok, Tae and Jimin to do an improvised photoshoot: photo with the elf, photo on Santa’s chair, photo with Santa’s coat. Jungkook noticed Yoongi and Jin were outside, so he went and joined them, he overhead Yoongi saying he couldn’t get used to the elves, a part of him understood Yoongi. It was a bit unsettling how immersed in their roles they were. Yoongi noticed Jungkook and smiled at him, “Jungkook-ah, what are you doing out here?” Yoongi’s voice was tender, this melted Jungkook, “They’re doing their own photo shoot, and I wanted to be with you…” Yoongi was about to reply when their guides exited the room and led them to their next stop.

The ‘elves’ workroom; inside there were two long tables and a big amount of handmade Santas on the walls. They sat at one table and of course, Jungkook sat next to Yoongi. They were given the material necessary to create their Santa, Yoongi finished first, Jungkook finished afterward. If you ask Jungkook, his Santa was by far the best, he had made the effort to draw a respectable face for his Santa. They added their Santas to the vast amount already on the walls, Jungkook took a photo of his; his work of art would not go to oblivion.

Their next stop was the post office, in there they were meant to write a letter that would be delivered on Christmas. Yoongi announced he’d write a letter for everyone, everyone knew that what the elder failed to say out loud was expressed through written messages. God, his hyung was a cheesy man. And yes, HIS hyung.

Everyone else decided to write for everyone as well, the elves gave them a sheet of paper and a pen (a pretty cool pen), and a Santa hat. The first one to finish was Hoseok, Jin followed, Jungkook was third to finish and he placed his letter in an envelope in the mailbox, Yoongi finished after him. With four of them outside and two still working on their letters, one of the elves decided to teach them two things: how to relax your body and how to walk like an elf. Jungkook looked at Yoongi and he was doing the same as the elf, kinda , for the first routine, but as soon as they began walking like an elf Yoongi ditched them, this probably was too ridiculous for him. Yoongi sat alone on a bench outside of the post office.

With their elf lesson dismissed Jungkook joined Jin in his exploration of the ‘village’, they wandered around and fooled around, singing Christmas carols and the Frozen song.

Eventually, Tae and Jimin finished their letters and that marked the ending of their tour. The six of them stood in line to wrap up the visit, and of course, Jungkook stood next to Yoongi. Jungkook was startled when once again he felt a hand on his back and was amused when Yoongi’s suggestion backfired when Hoseok suggested they all did a transmission to read the letters. They all expressed how happy they were with their trip in their ‘speeches’; overall it was a heartfelt moment. Jungkook couldn’t help feel beyond happy when Yoongi said he would never forget the trip, and to be honest, neither could Jungkook, only in his wildest dreams would Yoongi reciprocate his feelings.

On their way back Jungkook again sat next to Yoongi, they spent their trip in a comfortable silence. Except for Jungkook’s mind going wild, that is. Their trip was about to finish and they were going back to Korea; the bubble they had been living in was about to pop open, and Jungkook couldn’t help but wonder how Yoongi and he were going to handle what they were in the public eye.

When they arrived at their destination, a simple cottage near a lake, everyone got down and the crew let them know they were going to rest there before they began their trip back to Korea, they would also do individual interviews. They had a short break before the interviews began, and Jungkook was ready to wander around when he felt a hand on his wrist, Yoongi was pulling him to walk back to the RV, “Jungkook-ah…” there was something about Yoongi’s voice that made Jungkook follow him without a question. He looked around and the rest were nowhere to be seen. What the hell was going on?

Inside the RV Jungkook looked at Yoongi and he was locking the door, when he turned around Yoongi looked at his bed and back to Jungkook, “you fell asleep last night, I wanted to… I wanted to sleep with you. And… Jin-hyung took the rest inside, so no one will come…” Yoongi sat at the edge of his bed and looked at Jungkook, “I can almost hear the gears spinning in your head, come here… please.”

Jungkook walked to the bed and at this Yoongi sighed relieved and laid in the bed, Jungkook laying down next to him. Yoongi was laying on his side facing Jungkook, Jungkook stared at the bed above them. They stayed silent for a couple of seconds, Jungkook’s thoughts were all over the place; worrying about their future, worrying about the intensity of Yoongi’s feelings, worrying about everything and nothing at the same time.

“Jungkook-ah, what’s going on up there?” Yoongi poked Jungkook’s head. “I thought we were over with the awkwardness…” Jungkook could feel Yoongi’s gaze on him, what was he even supposed to say?

“Hyung… I just… We’re going back to Korea, and over there we won’t just be Jeon Jungkook and Min Yoongi. We’ll be idols Jungkook and Suga, and… we… what are we… how are we… I don’t... “ Jungkook’s emotions were getting the best of him, he couldn’t speak his thoughts properly.

“Jungkook, look at me” Yoongi’s voice was soft, almost like a whisper, Jungkook changed his position to look at Yoongi, they were facing each other. Yoongi placed his hand on Jungkook’s cheek, it was a simple gesture, yet Jungkook felt he was blushing, “I love you Jungkook-ah, and I admit it took me a while to realize, but that doesn’t make me love you any less. I know that when we go back to Korea things won’t be easy, but… we’ll find our way around it, Namjoon and Jin found a way. I’m sure we can as well. And… even then, there’s no point in worrying about it, today and now is what matters, and we’ll take it day by day, and if day by that doesn't do, we’ll take it hour by hour, minute by minute… And we’ll do it together and we’ll talk about it. I just need you to know I love you, okay?”

Yoongi got closer to Jungkook and kissed him. It was a chaste kiss, and whatever worries Jungkook had were gone, Yoongi loved him and that was all that mattered. He focused instead on the feeling of being kissed by Yoongi, on kissing him back. Yoongi entangled their legs and the kiss got more intense, the tenderness gone replaced by an urgency of more. Yoongi broke the kiss and Jungkook whimpered at the loss. Jungkook was certain he looked desperate, Yoongi smirked at him and Jungkook was about to lose it.

Yoongi was about to kiss him again when the pair heard a knock on the door, “Guys… sorry to interrupt, the director sent me to let you know you’re doing a Vlive transmission, so just… come inside. All right, consider yourselves informed, I’m out before I hear any unwanted noises…” Hoseok rushed message caught them off guard.

Yoongi sighed and laid on his back, Jungkook felt like a kid caught stealing candies, Hoseok had the worst.timing.ever.

During the transmission, the pair felt somewhat awkward, just a couple minutes before they were making out and Jungkook was certain he looked like startled deer. Was their behavior too obvious? They definitely were acting too pleased with themselves, to be honest Jungkook was on cloud nine. Yoongi was holding a selfie stick with a phone for the transmission,  he showed ARMY the scenery and Jungkook took advantage the third time Yoongi showed the scenery to kiss him, he had caught him unprevented and he was proud of himself, at least until Yoongi deepened the kiss, he then felt like a mushy mess, a hot mess for the matter . They finished the transmission with Jungkook making Yoongi wink at the camera, neither of them were good at winking.

When they finished the crew let the pair know they were the last to do their interviews. Jungkook went first and his happiness came across during the interview, he was happy with the outcome of their trip. Spending time with his hyungs without the constant scrutinizing of media felt nice for a change. And Suga-Hyung reciprocating his feelings was certainly the biggest contribution to his happiness.

Yoongi did his interview after Jungkook, when he finished the crew packed everything up.

They returned the RV and took a train to get to the airport, on the train each one of them did a video letter for ARMY. That was the last thing they recorded. Jungkook fell asleep next to Yoongi for the rest of the trip. On the flight they took to return to Korea Jungkook also sat next to him. He felt happy and safe.

Jungkook was loved and nothing else mattered.

No one has the ability to predict the future, but sitting in that plane next to Yoongi, he knew that whatever struggles they ever came to face, they’d find a way. He thought about the cover he had done of ‘Nothing like us’, maybe somewhere in the near future, he’d sing that song to Yoongi.
