Jungkook stares at the stick in disbelief.
Two pink lines. Two.
It’s finally happening.
He covers his mouth in shock, tears glistening in his doe eyes. After almost 3 years of trying - 3 years of doctors, family members, and friends telling them its hopeless - he’s finally pregnant.
Everyone told them it was impossible. Everyone said that an omega getting another omega pregnant had a 1 in 1 million chance of happening, and that they would never be that 1. But they were stubborn, and now looking at these two lines, he’s so glad they didn’t give up.
This had been their dream since they got engaged. He had always wanted kids, and so did Jimin. He thought he’d have kids with an alpha, since that’s what his biology and society told him, but then he met Jimin. The other omega swept him off his feet the minute they met, and Jungkook knew he’d never want an alpha or even beta, when he could have Jimin.
They mated after 1 year of dating, got engaged after 4 years of dating, and started trying for a baby after 1 year of marriage. Jungkook thought it would’ve been difficult choosing who would get to carry their litter, since they’re both omega’s and their biology desires for them to hold their mates pups.
But Jimin - he confided in Jungkook and told him that the thought of getting pregnant was unappealing to him. He’d much rather fill Jungkook up with his pups and well - Jungkook really liked that thought as well.
He wanted to carry Jimin’s pups so bad - so they started trying.
It’s true, that omega’s impregnating other omega’s is rare. Omega’s mating with other omega’s isn’t very common either - since biologically they don’t match up. It’s hard to get pregnant by another omega - Jungkook would know, they’ve done everything they could to get a baby. And after 3 years, he was starting to lose hope.
But it paid off. It finally paid off.
He cries in happiness as he clutches the stick in his hand. He can’t wait to tell Jimin. But…how should he tell Jimin? He really wants to make this special, since it is a special topic.
His eyes light up as an idea pops into his head. He knows the perfect way to surprise Jimin with the news.
Its Christmas morning, 2 weeks after he found out, when he wakes up to excited kisses being peppered all over his face. Jungkook whines and tries to push the person away, an airy giggle being his only response. The kisses don’t stop until he’s opening his eyes and is met with the beautiful sight of his husband and mate. Jimin beams. “Merry Christmas baby!”
Jungkook chuckles at his mates excitement. He’s always found it so endearing how excited Jimin gets for Christmas, still holding some of that childish spirit inside him. He loves his cute omega so much. “Merry Christmas hyung.”
Jimin leans down and kisses his lips this time, ignoring their morning breathe. Jungkook hums in happiness, then pulls away. “Do you wanna open-“
“HELL YES!” Jimin yells, jumping out of bed. Jungkook laughs as he watches his husband rush out of their bedroom and into their living room where their gifts are. Jungkook slowly gets out of bed, nervous yet excited to give Jimin his gifts.
“Hurry up Jungkookie!” Jimin whines. He’s already holding out his gifts to Jungkook, and the younger chuckles as he sees Jimin try to balance 6 gifts in his hands. “Jiminie put those down before you drop them all.”
“You underestimate my balancing skills Kook,” the older pouts, but he listens and puts down all the gifts. He claps in excitement. “Open your gifts first Kookie!”
The younger smiles and goes to open all the gifts Jimin gave him. The gifts include a pack of banana milk, the new Spiderman ps4 game (he squeals at that one - Jimin cries from laughter), a new pair of earrings, a new black hoodie, beats headphones (he squeals again), and a framed photo of them together on their 4th anniversary dinner they had on a cruise ship. It’s all so thoughtful, and Jungkook gives his wonderful husband a long kiss to show him just how thankful he is.
“Now it’s your turn,” Jungkook whispers, holding out 3 gifts for Jimin. The other omega beams and grabs them, going to open the gift that was on top. Jungkook nervously bites his lip as Jimin opens the box to reveal a bright orange scarf. The older’s eyes widen. “Hey…this looks-“
“Like the scarf you wore on our first date, I know,” Jimin chuckles, “for our past.”
“Can’t believe you remembered that.” He puts the scarf down and goes to open his next gift. This gift is a framed version of their wedding invitation. “For our present,” Jungkook smiles.
His heart is practically beating out of his chest as Jimin goes to open his last gift. Time moves slowly as Jimin opens the box to reveal his last gift. His reaction is immediate - he covers his mouth with both hands and looks up at Jungkook with wide and watery eyes. Jungkook feels himself tearing up as well. He smiles. “And for our future.”
Jimin shakily reaches in and pulls out a small baby bib, the words ‘I love my daddies!’ scribbled on the front. He stares at it before looking back up at Jungkook. “R-Really?”
Jungkook nods. “Really.” He places his hands on his stomach. “I’m pregnant.”
Jimin places the bib on the table and launches himself at Jungkook, wrapping his arms around his husband’s shoulders tightly. Jungkook hugs him back just as tightly. “H-How far?”
“2 months,” Jungkook whispers, “I was gonna tell you sooner, but I wanted to make it special.”
“You could’ve thrown the pregnancy test at my face and it still would’ve been special,” Jungkook chuckles at that. Jimin pulls away, and he sees that the tears finally made their way down Jimin’s cheeks. But the bright smile on his face tells Jungkook that he’s happy. “It’s finally happening.”
“I know.”
“We’re gonna be parents Jungkookie.”
“I know.”
“And you-“ Jimin sobs, “-you’re gonna look so beautiful, swollen with our pup. You’re gonna take such good care of our pup. You’re so amazing Jungkookie, I love you,” a kiss on the cheek, “I love you,” a kiss on the nose, “I love you so much,” and a kiss on the lips. Jimin places his hands on his stomach, and Jungkook is so overwhelmed with happiness and love. He’s gonna start a family with the love of his life, and he’s never been happier.
“And,” Jimin leans down to kiss his cloth covered tummy, “I love you pup, so so much.” Jungkook giggles as Jimin continues to pepper kisses on his tummy, the two of them spending the rest of the day talking about the little Christmas miracle growing inside Jungkook’s stomach.
It’s their best Christmas yet.
(They get another surprise about a month later, when they find out that they’re having twins. A boy and a girl.
Not just one Christmas miracle, but two.
They quickly buy a second bib.)
