Pinky Promise

Summary:

They were little kids when he made a promise to him.

Now that sealed promise is broken, and now Jimin is broken.

This was inspired by Jimin’s song Promise ^ㅅ^

Work Text:

 ‘Pinky promise?’

‘Pinky promise.’

Years later, he wouldn’t think that promise would ever be broken.

Oh how naive he was.

////

‘Was I not enough?’

‘Am I not pretty enough for you?’

‘Didn’t I make you happy?’

‘When did you stop loving me?’

‘Did you even love me in the first place?’

These thoughts kept eating at his brain like maggots eating rotten flesh.

And he lays on his bed like a corpse.

He can’t eat, can’t sleep.

His eyes begged for them to close.

For them to drift off to another place.

A place where he could be with the love of his life, happy.

Embracing each other with nothing but pure everlasting love.

He wanted that, he had that.

But it was taken away all too soon.

He’s afraid that he’ll dream of him. A dream that he’ll never want to wake up from.

His ex found someone prettier.

Someone that makes him more happier.

And he loves that’s person. Probably in love with him too.

His body feels numb, but he could feel his heart ache.

It’s cold in his room but he doesn’t want to get a blanket, he likes it.

He hopes that the cold will freeze his heart, to incase it with a frozen cage, so that aching feeling can stop beating.

Hate, and love is all he can feel.

Hates that he’s still in love with his ex.

He wants to hate him for breaking his heart, for leaving him for someone else.

But his heart won’t let him, it still yearned for the other.

He knows his eyes are swollen, knows that his lips are chapped, his hair is matted and he knows for a fact he smells.

His phone kept going off for a few days now, but he doesn’t want to be bothered.

It’s been a week now.

But it feels like years.

“Jimin! I swear I’m so fucking lucky I have an extra key!”

He could hear his best friend yell down the hall.

He doesn’t even brother to look at his best friend when he comes in his room.

“Jimin,” he speaks softly. “Why didn’t you tell me or call me right away?” The bed dips behind him, a warm hand tries to comb through his hair.

The way he spoke to him makes him curl into a tighter ball, and doesn’t even try to say anything because even if he tries he knows his voice will betray him and most likely cry more.

When he doesn’t say nothing, his best friend gets up and he doesn’t know where until he hears the water running in his bathroom.

Next thing he does freaks him out because he is getting picked up as if he weighs nothing.

“Tae please, just leave me alone,” He weakly whispers.

“No Jimin. I’m not going to just sit back and let you do this to yourself,”

Taehyung sits him on the toilet and begins to undress him. The bright lights keep him from opening his eyes.

He wasn’t shy being nude around his best friend but he just didn’t want him to see him now.

“Jimin ....”

He knows he could see his bones starting to protrude through his skin and with the lighting from the bathroom he saw the bags under his eyes, how his cheeks are sulking in, his complexion went from a honey to now a light pale color.

He doesn’t have to look in a mirror to know how he looks.

He hasn’t eaten in two weeks. The week before he could see there was something going on with his ex boyfriend. He knew there was someone else, the reason why the other came home in the early mornings or was barely home at all.

The lingering cold was replaced by fervor. The foul smell was replaced with a strawberries and honey scent. His favorite.

Taehyung got him cleaned and dressed, then he took him to the living room and pulls him on the couch with him.

“Thank you Taehyung ..... you’re the only family I have now.”

“I’m always going to be here for you Jimin, I’m not going to leave you ever.”

They hug each other tightly, wanting to feel that same warmth.

////

Since then Taehyung came to his house everyday to check up on him, making sure he ate, took care of his hygiene, got some rest, and that he went to work.

Work was rough, but he managed to get through the day as long as Tae was with with him.

It’s been three months now, and he hasn’t seen his ex but he was glad.

Or so he tries to tell himself.

“Hey Jimin, my cousin is moving back into town and wants to get lunch in a bit, wanna go?”

“I want to but I don’t want to pry,”

“Don’t worry! He’s a people person and he’s kind of been wanting to meet you,”

He looks at his best friend with a questioning look.

“What do you mean?”

“I sent him a few pictures of us and~ he was interested in you,”

“Tae I-I don’t think I’m ready for that yet,”

“I’m not pushing you to marrying him, I just want you guys to meet,”

A message notification goes off on Taehyung’s phone.

“He’s at the restaurant now, and since you already agreed to go, we’re going!”

Before he can refuse he was being manhandled into a taxi.

When they get out, Taehyung was fixing his hair and they begin inside.

He’s been to this restaurant a few times with Taehyung, it belonged to his other cousin. He’s met him a few times, Seokjin was his name. The older was funny, his lame dad jokes and the way he laughs always made him laugh, he liked that he was really nice, even giving them free meals, when each plate cost more than 100,000 won.

No one was inside surprisingly, the restaurant was one of the booming restaurants in Seoul and it was Friday.

When they reached the table, their was a man already standing like he was about to greet them.

The man was breathtaking. His light brown hair made his melanin skin glow. His all black suit was fitted like a glove. He had succulent plump lips. When he smiled, his dimples showed and that was the cherry on top.

This man was amazingly handsome.

When he steps closer to shake his hands, his features were more striking.

And he was tall and obviously fit.

“Jimin, right?” Fuck his voice was deep and smooth too.

“Yup, and you are?”

“Namjoon,” the corner of his lips quirk at the corners.

Their hands were still clasped together, his hand was swallowed by the others rather large hands.

God he hopes he’s not sporting a chub right now just by looking at the man in front of him.

Taehyung brings them out of their little stupor when he tells them the waiter brought out their food.

Throughout their lunch, Namjoon spoke with such elegance, although he was clumsy, spilling his drink almost five times already, it made him more fond of the man, drawn to him.

At the end they ended up exchanging numbers and agreed to meet with each other often.

“I think it went great,” Taehyung says cheerfully when they get back to work.

“It did, thank you Taehyung,”

“Anytime Jimin, I just thought you needed a refresher,”

“It’s just going to take some time,”

“I know but I just want you to be happy, you know that,”

“I’ll do my best,”

“I love you Jimin.”

“I love you too Tae.”

Their hugs always brought warmth to his cold rainy days. Although it was not enough to settle the subtle shivers that ran through his body.

////

A few more months later, Namjoon had asked him out, he was reluctant at first but thought maybe it was finally time for him to move on, so he happily said yes.

Namjoon was sweet, caring and loved to spoil the shit out of him from gifts to just giving him attention.

His now boyfriend worked as a CEO and was a successful song writer for one of the many big music companies in Seoul.

Yes he was constantly busy but the older always made sure to make time together and keep their weekly dates.

They’ve been together more than a year now.

////

He hears the door open and immediately jumps into his boyfriend arms causing the both of them almost fall back.

Namjoon giggles. “Hey baby,” he pecks him on the lips.

“Hi, how was work?”

“It was good, just signed a new writer, he’s pretty good. I’m going to throw a welcoming dinner for him tomorrow at Jin’s restaurant, and I wanted to take you with me and introduce you to him, since I’ll be working with him a lot,”

“And what do I get if go?”

“What did you want?”

“I think you know.” he bites his lips and walks to his room, swaying his hips more than usual.

“Careful for what you wish for baby.”

The next morning he woke up with a sore backside and bruises littered on his thighs up to his neck.

He wore a black satin v-neck and skin tight dress pants that Namjoon had gotten for his birthday a few months ago. It was his favorite outfit, he liked that the flowy material showed his prominent collar bones and contoured his body well.

After he finally got over his ex, he started to work out again, his boyfriend always complemented his body whenever he felt self-conscious.

He tried to cover the marks with concealer but it didn’t help that Namjoon non-stopped peppered his neck with more kisses, which he knows he was doing on purpose. Namjoon liked the marks.

Namjoon was already done getting ready, he was just waiting for him to finish up.

“I told you, you don’t need makeup, you look perfect as is,” he walks up behind him and holds him around his waist, chin propped on his shoulder.

“I just like putting it on, so does it look okay?” he takes one more look in the mirror, making sure he didn’t over do it with the highlighter and glittery eyeshadow.

“Perfect, always so fucking beautiful baby,”

“Mmm thank you baby,” he turns his head to kiss his boyfriend.

“Ready?”

“Yup.”

The restaurant was busy, the waiters moved swiftly around the tables trying to keep up with the very persistent guests.

He could see Seokjin chatting with Taehyung who was eating with his new friend Jungkook. He was younger than them but he was really sweet, a little shit at times but he liked that he treated his best friend good.

There was a little voice in the back of his mind telling him to turn around and go back to his house but he ignored it as soon as they sat down.

They waited a few minutes for the other to get there, Namjoon kept placing kisses on his neck and probably some more marks, but he didn’t mind he liked the attention he was getting.

“Sorry we’re a bit late,” a deep voice brings them out their make out session.

“No need to worry, we got here a bit too early. First, I want to introduce you to my boyfriend Jimin,”

He gets up to bow to other but is stopped midway when he sees his face.

Min Yoongi, his ex boyfriend and the man who shattered his heart into pieces.

“Hi nice to meet you,” he simply says monotonous and takes his seat again.

“Nice to meet you Jimin, and this is my boyfriend Hoseok,”

“It’s a pleasure meeting the both of you,” Hoseok says cheerfully.

Hoseok, this guy is the reason why he cried every night the first few months after their breakup.

He is indeed very pretty. Prettier than him.

“Nice to meet you Hoseok,” Namjoon bows and all three of them sit down.

Sirens kept going off in his head, he knows he needed to leave as soon as possible but at the same time he wanted to show his ex that he’s also moved on, show him that he’s doing better without him, that he doesn’t need him anymore.

“You look like you’re doing well Jimin,” Yoongi talks casually to him as if they were friends.

“You two already know each other?” Namjoon quickly asks.

“Yeah, we use to be friends, just childhood friends,” Jimin answers his boyfriend with a smile.

“Oh cool, maybe you guys can catch up after this,”

“No,” He nearly shouts. “You know I’m always busy baby,” He fidgets with his fingers under the table.

“Ah, that’s right. You were lucky enough to have today off, but it wouldn’t hurt to-“

Before he could finish what he was going to say, the waiters thankfully came to ask what drinks they wanted and all he wanted right now was some hard liquor.

“So how long have you two been together?” Namjoon asks the other, completely forgetting the conversation just seconds ago.

“A little more than two years. You guys?”

“An amazing year and three months, right baby,” Namjoon leans in to kiss his cheek.

“You two look so good together,” Hoseok comments with a blinding smile.

“Thank you,” Jimin shyly replies. He takes a quick glance at his ex.

“How did you guys meet?” Hoseok asks this time.

“My cousin Taehyung showed me a few pictures of them together and I thought he was really beautiful and wanted to meet him once I moved back to Seoul. It took him awhile for him to accept me but I couldn’t be more happier when he finally did,” his boyfriend looks at him with loving eyes. “and you guys?” Turning his attention back to the two.

“We met at a park, Yoongi was struggling with some lyrics late one night and I happened to be there when he needed a little help, so every other night we’d meet up and just talk, and we both started to feel something and wanted more,” Hoseok looks at Yoongi with sparkles in his eyes, while the other looks at him with a loving smile.

He didn’t dare to cry, Yoongi doesn’t deserve his tears anymore, he told himself he was finally over him.

“Jimin! I’m sorry Namjoon but I have an emergency and need my best friend right now,” Taehyung pulls him up from his seat.

“Is everything alright?” Namjoon stands up quickly.

“Sorry Joon but it’s only between us, I hope you’ll understand,” Taehyung pleads with his eyes.

“O-oh okay, I’ll call you later then baby.”

He nods and gives his boyfriend one last kiss, while Taehyung shoots Yoongi a nasty glare.

He doesn’t say anything when they get into the waiting taxi neither does Taehyung.

They get to his room and lay on his bed.

That all so familiar ache comes back, hitting him tenfold.

He hates himself for letting him feel like this again.

Taehyung pulls him close to his chest, rubbing small circles into his back.

He cries streams of tears, and he just wants it to stop. He can’t breathe and it only makes everything hurt more.

He had loved Yoongi, was in love with him and he had thought the older felt the same.

Six years. They had been together for six fucking years.

Each day he had loved Yoongi more and more. They talked about getting married and having kids.

They moved in together, he made his home Yoongi’s home.

But Yoongi had always been his home.

Everything in the house reminded him of the older, so he finally decided to move to a different neighborhood months after the breakup.

Does fate plan to fuck with him? Make him suffer more than he already has?

Yes, he loves Namjoon. He deserves someone like him. But he can’t give that same perpetual love to Namjoon.

“I know you still love that asshole Jimin,”

“H-he promised me, promised he won’t ever l-leave me Tae,”

“I saw that note he left, and after I left your house that day, I found him and kicked his ass. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but fuck it felt so good,”

“I don’t want to hurt Namjoon next, Tae,”

“He knows about your relationship with Yoongi but he doesn’t know that it was him,”

So that explains why Namjoon was always so careful with him, treated him as if he were glass.

“I wish he just kept his promise.” This is the last thing he says before he falls asleep.

////

After the Yoongi incident he texted Namjoon that him and Taehyung had to do some things for work and he wouldn’t be home for a few days.

Then Monday comes.

“Good morning beautiful,”

He wakes up to a smiling Namjoon.

“Morning,”

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah ... where’s Tae?”

“They had called him into work again. I brought you breakfast, Tae told me you didn’t eat yet,”

Namjoon helps him sit up and then places a plate of food on his lap.

“Thank you,” he gives a smile to the other.

“It’s nothing, so .... he’s the one huh?”

He slowly swallows his food and nods.

“I’m sorry Jimin, I wish I had knew earlier, I wouldn’t have let you meet him or I wouldn’t have signed him, I’m sorry,”

“It’s okay, as long-as long as I don’t cross paths with him again, then I’ll be okay,”

“Can you tell me what happened?” His boyfriend looks at him with wide eyes, “but you don’t have too! Unless you’re not ready, I’m not pressuring you or anything!” He was quick to add.

He laughs at his boyfriends cuteness. “Namjoon, it’s okay but I’ll tell you after I eat, yeah?”

“Oh yeah, eat, eat, I’ll let you finish, but I’m just going to run to the company real quick and I’ll be back kay?”

“Okay.”

Namjoon kisses the top of his head and then he leaves.

He wasn’t sure how long Namjoon was going to be so after he finishes eating, he gets up and goes to the restroom and doesn’t dare take a look in the mirror because he knows he probably looks like shit but decides to wash his face until he looks decent.

It’s takes about three hours until Namjoon comes walking back to his house with a plastic bag, takeout he assumes.

“Sorry, took longer than expected,” Namjoon places the bag on his bed.

“Don’t worry about it,”

“So uhm ....” Namjoon scratches the back of his head.

“Wanna talk first?”

“Only if you want,” Namjoon sounds hesitant.

“To be honest, I kind want to know what happened between you two first if I’m not pushing any boundaries,”

He pats to the empty space next to him and Namjoon sits, staring at the floor below him.

“Yoongi was my best friend in primary school. Him and my grandma were my only family when my mom left me. I knew I was in love with him when we first met, it was silly considering we were just kids. He was there for me when my grandma had passed away a month before I had graduated. Before I started my freshman year of college, he asked me to be his boyfriend. God I was so in love with him. After he had graduated, we moved into my grandmas house together, everything was going good until he started working for a new music company. When we were kids he promised me he won’t ever leave me. Then a few months after our sixth year anniversary, he became so .... distant. He didn’t kiss me that often, we would go on monthly dates but then he would ‘forget’ or either he was too tired. Then he started to come home late or sometimes not at all. I tried, fuck I tried to make things better but that only led to us arguing and he would leave to stay at a hotel or with a ‘friend’. I wanted a future with him, I wanted to be his husband, to have kids with him, the whole package. Obviously he didn’t want it. I saw that there was somebody other than me, but I told myself there was nothing to worry about, because I thought he was in love with me and he wouldn’t leave me for somebody else. He would tell me too, that he wouldn’t ever do that me. All I wanted was to be the cause of his smiles, to light his way on his darkest days, to be the only one he loved,”

He wipes the tears that rolled down his cheeks and takes a breath.

“I’m sorry just know that I do love you Namjoon, I don’t want to hurt you too.”

Namjoon pulls him to his chest and just holds him.

“I love you too and you have nothing to be sorry about but I think” Namjoon sighs, “I think it’s best if we just stay friends.”

He doesn’t know exactly why Namjoon decided to make this decision all of sudden but at the same time he understands.

Namjoon was too attached to him, it was best to end things before he ends up like him, and Namjoon doesn’t deserve that.

He knew that he was still in love with Yoongi.

////

It’s been months since that day he’s seen Yoongi.

He still hangs out with Namjoon and he was glad that there was nothing awkward between them.

Taehyung still tries to be a match maker for him but all were to no avail.

Unhappiness settled in the bottom of his heart, stuck to him like calculus.

Then he takes a job opportunity he can’t refuse, and begins to study English, Taehyung helped being his study buddy. It takes awhile but luckily Namjoon was fluent in English and starts to help him too.

Before he leaves he goes to his favorite park.

Spring had just began, the smell of fresh cut grass pleased his nose, the weather was perfect, it was relaxing.

It’s been a few years since he’s been here.

Memories, sad yet happy memories flooded his mind as he sits on the same very bench where he met Yoongi.

He had been barely five years old when his mother had abandoned him at the park. He cried for hours, when he realized she wasn’t coming back for him.

Yoongi found him crying on the bench and offered a warm hand to him. Yoongi’s parents, the angels they were helped him find the only family he had, which was his grandma.

Even though he was just a kid then, he remembers it so vividly.

This is where Yoongi had confessed to him and asked him to be his boyfriend. This where they had their first kiss. This is where he had asked Yoongi to move in with him. This is where they talked about their future, planning the perfect wedding, having four kids and a million of pets, moving to the country side because it seemed more peaceful and in Yoongi’s case there was less people to deal with.

This must be the same spot Yoongi met Hoseok. Has to be because Yoongi has told him this where he writes most of his music.

This is where it all began, where Yoongi promised he would never leave him.

“Hey,” he recognizes that deep raspy voice but he doesn’t bother to look as the bench squeaks next to him.

“Hey,”

“What are you doing?”

“Thinking .... you?”

“No, I mean what are you doing? Why are you leaving?”

“That’s none of your business, how did you even find out?”

“That doesn’t matter. Just fucking tell me why you’re leaving,”

He laughs bitterly. “Want me to be really honest,”

“Yes,”

“This place is making me sick. I can’t stand being here anymore knowing that one day I’ll see your face again,”

“Jimin,” His ex kneels in front of him now, hands on each knee. “Please, I know you hate me-“

This time he scoffs. “I can’t hate you even if I wanted to. As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t,”

“Look I know I fucked up, I know I broke our promise, but please Jimin don’t leave. I’m still in fucking love with you. I can’t stop thinking about you. I was stupid for leaving you for someone I don’t give a shit about-”

Hot tears were blurring his sight, but he kept his gaze at the cherry blossoms ahead of him that are just starting to look a watercolor painting, he can’t look at the man below him because he knows he’s going to break.

Break all over again.

“But in the end you still left me, you broke my heart, but yet it still reaches out for you. I was head over heels for you Yoongi, I was willing to move mountains for you. I wanted nothing more than to be with you, ONLY you, but this is how you show what you really felt about me after all those fucking years,” hot tears trail down his face.

“No Jimin, don’t-don’t say that,” His nails begin to claw into his jeans. “I love you to fucking death, I wasn’t thinking. But I .... I still want to keep my promise .... just please, please don’t leave,”

“That’s not for you decide Yoongi,”

“I’m sorry Jimin, I’m so fucking sorry,” His ex starts crying into his lap.

“Come on,” Jimin grabs his hand and they go back to his house.

After he closes the door, he presses Yoongi against the door and begins to place open mouth kisses down his chest and then takes him to his room.

His house was practically empty, the only thing left was the bed and a empty dresser.

Everything felt it was going fast forward, because the next thing he knows him and Yoongi are both naked.

They were blank canvases to create art on the other.

There was various shades of reds to pinks forming on his body, they resembled that of the cold early morning skies when him and Yoongi use to stay up all night just to watch the sun rise when neither could sleep.

Yoongi finishes prepping him, and places his length at his entrance, slowing pushing in until he’s flush against him.

Heavy breathing filled the empty room, then it’s soon replaced with his high pitched moaning and slapping of skin as Yoongi thrusts at a moderate pace.

Yoongi knows his body all too well, he knows how he likes it, knows how to make him feel just right.

“I love you Jimin, I’m sorry for hurting you. I’m not going to leave you ever again ” Yoongi mumbles next to his ear and thrusts harder against his prostate.

He knows he’s leaving deep scratches on the others back, but that’s that how he likes it, he knows Yoongi.

Yoongi left him just like his mom had left him, but only difference was Yoongi came back for him.

He wishes he could hate Yoongi because he deserves better but his fucking heart didn’t want to let go.

If he hated Yoongi he wouldn’t be in this position, he would already have moved on.

But deep down he really missed him. He’s the rock hard calculus he can’t scrape off his heart.

Euphoria takes over both of their bodies as they climax together.

He pulls Yoongi closer, wants to keep him there and feel his heart beat, to feel it drum against his own.

To see what kind of beautiful song it will create.

Yoongi falls asleep soon after, as always after making love.

He has to leave in few hours, so he takes the time to admire Yoongi. It was his favorite thing to do, he liked the way the moonlight peeked through the curtains and made his sweat covered body gleam from the nights natural light. He’s going to miss his cute round nose, the way his lips pout when he talks, his deep voice.

He’s going to miss Yoongi.

Just in a few hours, he’ll start a new chapter in his life, a new beginning with his best friends Taehyung and Jungkook.

Taehyung texts him, letting him know that him and Jungkook are ready to leave and that they’ll meet him at the airport.

He takes one last look at Yoongi from the doorway and wishes that things could’ve been different and then he leaves.

Namjoon and Seokjin where at the airport to say their goodbyes and said that they’ll visit them as much as they can.

////

As expected everything in his new home was set perfectly. Taehyung and Jungkook lived just next door to him, his best friend wanted them to all live together but denied because he wanted his own space. Taehyung was a little upset but he understood.

Everything was perfect but it felt incomplete.

He liked his new workplace, everyone was really friendly, nobody judged you about your sexuality, they didn’t care what race you were.

It was too perfect.

Everyday Namjoon and Jin had either called or texted them to see how they were adjusting and they were happy to know they were enjoying it a lot.

Weeks had passed and he made a lot of friends already, he especially became close to a guy who had also came from Korea and had also worked with him.

His name was Minhyun. The guy was really nice, very handsome and tall. He would sometimes invite him to his house to have little dinners together or they would have movie marathons since they found out they had a lot in common.

Although he liked the guy a lot, he could only see him as a friend, nothing more and Minhyun understood.

He had this thing where he would walk people to the door and watch them leave, it was more of habit.

As he opened the door to let Minhyun leave, Yoongi was standing there, a piece a paper in one hand and his phone in the other.

Yoongi stares at a confused Minhyun.

“You know this guy Jimin?” His new friend stands in front of him defensively.

“Yeah, it’s okay. You can leave,”

Then Minhyun turns around and whispers. “Text me if anything, promise?”

“Don’t worry and I promise, good night Minhyun.” And he gives him a hug, like he always does, then the taller man leaves.

Jimin doesn’t say anything to Yoongi but turns around, leaving the door open for him to come in.

He goes to the kitchen and starts to make a pot of coffee and some tea for himself.

Yoongi walks around his living with a blank expression, looking at the pictures he had put on the walls and then the ones on his tv stand.

When he turns back around from grabbing the mugs from the cabinets, Yoongi stands behind him, startling him and almost making him drop the cups.

“Shit, you scared me,”

“Jimin,”

Yoongi takes a step closer to him, close enough that their noses are touching, and his hot breath fans against his lips.

Then he feels a warm hand caress the side of his face and the other on his waist.

“I’m sorry ... I’m so fucking sorry, please take me back, I’ll do anything for you if you take me back. Please .... Jimin,” his voice is hoarse.

This is the first time he’s seen Yoongi like this, his eyes are rimmed red, he’s paler than usual, more skinnier. He reminds him of himself when the older had broken up with him.

Everything about the man in front of him made weak in the knees, made his heart skip a beat.

This is the man that’s he’s so madly in love with, the only one he’ll ever want, where his heart will always lead him to.

“Yoongi, I-“

Yoongi crash their lips together, it was filled with desperation and want.

He missed how their lips molded together perfectly, like they were made just for each other.

Then he pulls away, both are breathing heaving, lips slick and puffy red. Tears drop from their lashes.

Yoongi caresses his face in both of his hands, they’re still warm.

“Jimin, I was stupid ... so fucking stupid for letting the best thing in my life go,”

“You left me like my mom did,”

“I know, I wish I could take it all back, fuck I wish I could take it all back,”

“You broke our promise, you don’t know how long it took me to glue the pieces of my heart back together, you knew how fragile I was, you we’re my only family,” he clutches his fists tighter onto the older’s shirt.  “I wish I could hate you, it would have been easier for me .... so my heart would stop chasing after you,”

“Jimin,” Yoongi chokes on a sob. “I’m sorry,” he falls on his knees and clings onto his legs. “I fucking h-hate m-myself for h-hurting you like this. P-please believe me when I-I say I’m still in love w-with you, i-it’s always been you,”

Is he so willingly to put his heart on platter and give it to him?

He knows he’s going to keep thinking that Yoongi will find someone prettier than him again, will leave him for someone else when he gets bored of him.

Was he really going to risk his heart shattering again, after all the time he spent trying to find all the missing pieces?

Yoongi is all he ever wanted, his grandma wanted them to last forever because she saw that everlasting flame between them. The flame that was still kept lit even on their stormy days. The flame that burned brighter and hotter than the sun when they’re together.

“Come on,” he reaches a hand out for the other to take.

Yoongi looks at him, glass-eyed, and takes his hand into his.

He leads them to the living room, he motions for Yoongi to sit in the couch, then he turns the tv on, and walks back to the kitchen to retrieve the forgotten drinks and returns back to the couch, handing the other the coffee cup, which he takes.

They sit in silence, he sits an arms length away but in the corner of his eye he can see that Yoongi is trying to inch over to him.

“I thought about it,” Yoongi looks at him with wide eyes then he takes one more sip of his drink and places it on the table.

“No matter how hard I want to forget about you, I’ll always want you, I know I’m risking getting my heart broken again, and I’m stupid for wanting you after all the shit you put me through, but I’m still in love you Min Yoongi.”

“I swear on my life I’ll do whatever it takes for you to gain back your trust, I don’t want to hurt you again. I won’t break your heart. You’re the only one that brings that spark back to my life Park Jimin. I won’t break our promise again, I swear it on my parents life and your grandma’s life.”

Yoongi puts out his pinky finger, and Jimin hooks his to Yoongi’s larger one, they smile softly at each other.

Tae will be upset with him because at the end of the day he was the one there to help pick up the rest of the pieces. He hopes that his best friend will forgive him someday, but right now he can’t seem to care, his thoughts are all about the man sitting in front of him.

“I love you Park Jimin.”

“I love you Min Yoongi.”

/////

Maybe one day he regret taking Yoongi back. Maybe one day he’ll break his promise and his heart again.

But just for a moment he’ll have the love of his life back in his arms back again, lighting his path on his darkest of days. He will be the cause to his smiles and that’s all he ever wanted.

Min Yoongi is his ... for now.

Notes:

(KUDOS and NICE COMMENTS help me out a lot!)

Why can’t I make a bittersweet ending for these two? :’)

(Minhyun is no one in particular, I just needed a name for a random guy. And for some of you that might not know 100,000 won is around $100 USD.)

Maybe I’ll have another one coming up soon. Actually I have four more stories that need to be finished and two vkook stories next!

(I’m going to have a Taekook sneak peek but I’m going to take it down after, then reupload it when it’s finished!)
