Chapter Text
As soon as Hoseok got into his uber, he felt it. The cold. His arms’ hair stood up immediately when he changed from being outside, in the freezing wind, to the warming air from inside of the car. He realizes that he wasn’t feeling cold before because he was buzzing with love and adoration for his boyfriend, Yoongi, who was just kissing the shit out of him minutes ago.
Hoseok still remembered how he tasted – a hint of mint on his tongue. Yoongi’s kisses are always so, so full of affection and he was so close to call his mother and say that he wasn’t going to make it to his sister’s birthday gathering. Fuck it. He wanted to say, thinking about holding Yoongi until they were both asleep, his lover’s slow breathing lulling him into dreamland.
Yoongi made him want to let all of his responsibilities on hold, just to focus on him and him only.
On his pouty lips, that always has something savage to say. On his disheveled hair, that changed colours at least twice since they started dating, eight months ago. On his beautiful hands, that were always so icy but could bring comfort anytime Hoseok needed it. On his voice, that in one moment could be deep and serious, and then, could be soothing and sweet, making Hoseok’s heart flutter every fucking time.
Still, as his uber was approaching faster as the minutes went by, Yoongi insisted on distracting him with goodbyes kisses and promises to cuddle when he came back. With one last peck, he finally went out, but he forgot to bring his hoodie with him.
Now, he’s cursing at Yoongi and himself for letting this happen. He hates cold so much.
He’s not sure why, although Hoseok really likes snow. The feeling of being cold always bothered him. He hated how his body would shiver uncontrollably when a breeze would pass through him or how easily his nose and ears would get ice-cold red after seconds.
But maybe, he hates it more because he would associate it with being lonely and sad. Hoseok definitely doesn't like to feel like that. However, he knows that, sometimes, he has to. He needs to cry and feel pain to overcome his bad thoughts, in order to feel better again and continue to live happily. He knows that now.
And since he started dating Yoongi, he finally got a glimpse on how his boyfriend is during winter. Yoongi wears big coats and beanies – his clothing not changing drastically so far, but he gets all needy and cute.
When they’re walking side by side on the sidewalk, Yoongi would snuggle up against Hoseok’s arm, pouty lips growing bigger while whining about wanting to get home quickly. His goals would be to wrap himself up in blankets on the couch with a big mug of coffee.
And Hoseok… Hoseok is a weak man.
He would quicken his pace just to watch Yoongi’s gummy smile show up. Just to watch his eyes sparkle with joy and excitement to do all the things he was listing before. Hoseok would do anything for him. Hoseok loves him.
Experiencing this for the first time makes him not hate cold so much, he thinks.
Averting his thoughts, he sighs as he catches his phone, unlocking it and opening his chat with Yoongi.

Hoseok almost chokes on his own spit. Yoongi sent him a selfie, definitely wearing his white hoodie, blonde hair a mess, soft lips a bit red from all the kissing they were doing, but still pulling off the look perfectly.
He constantly forgets that Yoongi is such a tease and of course he would send him that picture. They really enjoyed making each other gasp for air, even when they were apart.

The ride took almost ten minutes. Hoseok gets out of the car, thanking the driver with his signature smile. Then, he reaches his parents’ door, ringing the bell and listening light footsteps approaching. He can hear some music, but it’s not too loud.
Jiwoo cracks it open, her hair a mess, probably because she was dancing with their little cousins, who show up behind her, curious eyes.
“Happy birthday!” he shouts, hugging her tightly by her shoulders. Since he’s taller, her face gets smashed against his chest and Hoseok soon hears her muffled laugh.
“Thank you.” Jiwoo says when they separate themselves, cupping his face with both hands affectionately. “You seem good. Happy.” she notes, observing him attentatelly.
“Yeah, guess so.” Hoseok shrugs, urging to confess that it’s all because of Yoongi. His boyfriend.
Right. His family doesn’t know that he has a boyfriend.
Jiwoo seems to want to talk about it, but she gets interrupted by their parents.
“Seok-ah! Come in, son!” their mother says, letting her daugther close the door while she wraps Hoseok in her arms.
“Hi, mom.” he greets, suddenly missing the time when he was younger and would find comfort in gestures like these. Their father is next, hugging him too, asking how he is. “Great. Just the usual.” and quickly they get further in the living room, Hoseok leaving his shoes by the door and saying hello to all of his relatives.
Hoseok really likes to see them once in while and Jiwoo’s birthday was a good excuse to. She told him that she didn’t want to spend it with her friends this year because she can meet them anytime. But, their family… it was more difficult to do so. Their cousins, uncles and aunties were always so busy and being able to gather everyone at the same time was a true miracle.
“Hey, Seok. How’s work?” his cousin casually asks when he stops by, sipping on his drink. It looks like orange juice, but Hoseok has a feeling that he put something along with it.
“It’s okay. My students are excited to dance on the next contest.” he informs, grabbing a sandwich from the dinner table and giving it a huge bite. After that, they get on a conversation about how exhausting teaching must be and Hoseok lets himself answer every question that they have. More people approached him, but Hoseok didn’t mind the attention.
The next thing he knows, they are talking about girlfriends and relationships. Hoseok swears he can’t remember how they ended up on that subject.
“She’s amazing, man. I’m telling you: she gives me flowers out of nowhere. It’s cute.” his cousin brags, a soft look on his face.
And suddenly he feels the urge to tell them about Yoongi too. How he’s so adorable when trying to explain a melody that he came up with on the piano because "Baby, I couldn't stop thinking about you” or when Hoseok’s so tired and Yoongi makes him a cup of tea and adds an extra of sugar because he knows will make Hoseok feel better.
“My boyfriend is a big softie. He takes me on sunsets dates.” he blurts out before he can think about what he’s saying. They all seem to suddenly stop, staring at him.
“What? You have a boyfriend?” he asks loudly and that catches the attention of who's near. Soon enough everybody in the house know that Hoseok is dating.
“Seok? Since when are you dating?” his mother appears by his side from the kitchen and he thinks he’s about to faint.
The thing is, his parents don’t know that he’s dating because they are too strict and overprotective about him. Actually, him and Jiwoo.
It should be okay, but it isn’t.
Once, his sister were dating this guy; he was sweet, had a great sense of humor and all top of that: he loved Jiwoo. The dude would do anything for her – Hoseok knew by the way he looked at her. Their parents should be happy for her, support her but– well. Everytime they would meet them, his folks would made a remark about his occupation; a barista. Said that he should search for something else, better, something that could provide their daughter a good life, something like being a CEO or working on a big company. But little did they know that the boy loved making coffee and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.
They broke up because Jiwoo couldn’t take their complaints anymore. She shouldn't have, but it was affecting their relationship so deeply that she couldn’t do this to him. She loved him too much. They’re still friends though and since then she’s been single.
That’s why he couldn't expose himself like this.
They really don't care if it’s a man or woman – he appreciates that. But he knows that Yoongi working with music in a small company and on top of that giving free piano classes; would be way too far on the Jung’s standards.
“Uh…” his words catch on his throat. Fuck. Now they were going to want to meet him and Hoseok couldn't put Yoongi through this.
“Oh my god! That's why you seem so happy!” Jiwoo says, hugging him tightly by his waist. “I wanna meet him!” she pleads, a cute pout on her lips.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I'm fucked.
He just can't.
“Yeah. It's recent. Like, two months.” Hoseok lies, smiling to fake it better.
“You should have brought him tonight! I bet he'd have a great time.” his uncle says and winks. They all laugh and Hoseok follows them just to mask his internal panic.

“But–” Jungkook tried, doe eyes shifting between Jimin and Taehyung.
It was Saturday, the day that The Guys would always meet to chill together and watch movies. Taehyung is not sure how the tradition began, but it's been happening for the past five years. He liked it. So much. He doesn’t know where he would be without his best friends.
Jimin was the first one to show up. They were high school friends and since that time, they considered themselves soulmates. Taehyung is sure that they were somehow connected – Jimin can understand him in ways that nobody else does. So, he’s glad that he has someone like him in his life.
And Jungkook, cute Jungkookie, entered their life unexpectedly. It was their second year at college and there were humors about this new boy, who skipped one year. On a beautiful spring day, he saw Jimin running late to class and he swears it was love at first sight. Jimin wasn’t looking for a boyfriend at the moment – he broke up recently. But that didn’t stop Jungkook to make his way through Jimin’s heart anyway.
Years later, here they are.
Usually, they would spend The Guys night at Taehyung’s place, since it was bigger and more colourful. It radiates Taehyung’s energy, Jimin often said. And man, he was rich as fuck. Taehyung liked to pay everything for them – even if they were begging him to not waste his money on them.
Taehyung would pay anyway. (They’d always have too many snacks options during their movie session.)
They were rewatching for the fifth time Now You See Me on Netflix when Jungkook brought up an instagram post.
“Kook, how do you know he won't kill you?” Taehyung says matter-of-factly, reaching for a handful of Jimin’s popcorn.
“Tae, I don't think someone would announce when and where they were going to murder someone on instagram.” Jimin chuckles softly.
Taehyung pauses, thinking for a few seconds. “You're probably right.” he agrees easily.
“Anyway. I won't let free piano classes pass me by.” Jungkook continues, taking notes on the subway station that this Yoongi teaches. “I've been dying to take them but it's too expensive for my bookshoper budget.” Jungkook pouts and Jimin coos at him, kissing his lips lightly.
“Okay. No one is going to stop you.” Taehyung gives in, but he has this serious look. “Let me at least pick you up.” he suggests, because he really doesn’t trust anyone these days. That man can really kill Jungkook and sell his organs.
“You're cute when you're worried.” Jungkook pinches his cheeks.
“I mean it.” he rolls his eyes affectionately.
“Alright.” he finally approves. Taehyung smiles.
“It’s settled then!” Jimin claps, arranging himself on the sofa. Now he has his head on Taehyung’s lap while his legs were on top of Jungkook’s. “Let’s finish this.”
Taehyung cleans his hands on the napkin close to him and starts caressing Jimin’s hair. They stay silent until the end of the movie.
Jimin hugs him one last time.
“Kook, let me know when you’re finished with piano classes tomorrow.” Jungkook nods, smiling at him while pulling Jimin with him. Their uber is close and they have to hurry up. Taehyung observes them go, waving at them.
He feels empty every time they leave.
Let’s be real; his house is too big for himself. He only bought it because he wanted to leave his old one immediately and he didn’t think about it properly. It reminded him of too much and he needed to forget. He did try to convince Jimin and Jungkook to move in with him, but they really needed a space for just the two of them.
Sometimes he envies their relationship. They’ve been living together for two years now, sharing the rent. It’s a small apartment, but they manage to live in it peacefully. They get along so well that they almost don't have any arguments, not too big at least. Taehyung can see how much they care about each other. Their love is beautiful.
He wishes he could have someone who could bring this kind of happiness to him too.
He thought he did though.
But Taehyung it’s too challenging. It’s what his ex told him.
Jimin disagrees. He thinks that Taehyung is a kind soul, someone who makes sure that everyone is comfortable around him and has the warmest smile ever. You’re funny, easy going and you can talk about anything. Anyone who doesn’t see that, it’s an asshole! Jimin is sure that that loser was only interested in his money. That jerk doesn’t deserve your time.
Since then, Taehyung has been more careful. He tries to be more cautious around people he meets and has been doing a great job. At work, he gets praised about every little thing he does; being an interior designer brings him joy and he can let his creativity go wild, and that keeps him friendly enough around others.
However, he still aches.
He wants someone to hold him, someone who he can come back home to. Someone who kisses his worries away and makes him laugh about silly things. He wishes, wishes, wishes. But, it’s hard.
It’s hard to find someone like that.
Sometimes, Taehyung thinks that he’s being too picky. That his standards are too high. But Jimin comforts him by saying that he should. He can’t accept any less than what he wants because he’s amazing and he deserves every good thing in the world.
He sighs.
Jungkook and Jimin should have stayed. He feels lonely as fuck.
With them, he could avoid thinking about how miserable he is. Earlier, he tried to persuade them to stay the night, but they told him that they have to visit Jimin’s parents first thing in the morning.
Taehyung didn’t insist.
After locking the front door, he turns off the TV and walks to his bedroom. He brushes his teeth and takes a long shower in attempt to ignore his loud thoughts. It doesn’t work. Finally, he falls on his queen-size bed, burying his face against the pillows, feeling big tears sliding his cheeks.
**
“What the fuck, Seokie?” Yoongi asks loudly and he regrets bringing it up in the first place.
“I’m sorry! It just slipped. I didn’t think properly.” he argues, hands up defensively.
“Obviously.” his boyfriend mocks. He presses his thumb and index finger in the bridge of his nose, taking deep breaths. “I’m not sure if I want to kill you or to kiss the shit out of you.” Yoongi informs next, smiling.
Hoseok stares at him confusedly. Then, he gets that Yoongi was messing with him.
“Oh my god. You scared me.” Hoseok whines, smacking his shoulder. Yoongi laughs, pulling Hoseok to sit next to him on the couch. He hugs him tightly as Hoseok buries his face on his chest.
“It’s okay. I know I’m a great actor.” he says smugly. Hoseok rolls his eyes.
“I’m serious. What should we do?” he questions, voice suddenly small. “I don’t want you to feel unwelcome by them just ‘cause you work with something you love.” Yoongi feels his heart clench. How can someone be so purely good. “I don’t want to choose between you two either.”
“I know, baby. You don’t have to.” Yoongi caresses his hair.
“I can’t ask you to lie about what you do.” Yoongi agrees. He wouldn't last with the act for too long anyway. He expects to date Hoseok for years.
“Yeah. I love you but if your parents can’t accept me fully, I don’t know if I want to meet them.” Yoongi shrugs.
“What do I do? I told them that I was going to bring you to meet them.” Hoseok sounds tired, probably was thinking about this all the way over there. They can't let his parents ruin everything they built. Yoongi won't let them.
“Well, you said that we were dating for two months, right?” Hoseok nods. “We just have to found someone who can fool them for a bit.” he concludes.
“What do you mean?” Hoseok questions with a cute frown on his face, pulling away slightly to see his boyfriend.
“We could pay someone to pretend to be your boyfriend. After some time, you could say you two broke up, they won’t know.” he says, a smart smile playing on his lips.
Hoseok ponders for a minute. Yes, he can fool his parents in order to keep his relationship with Yoongi intact, but he’s not sure if he can do that with Yoongi. Hoseok should scream to the whole world how much he loves him and how he brings happiness and joy to him. It’s not fair.
Sensing his hesitation, Yoongi interlaces their fingers, thumb making a gentle stroke on the back of his hand.
“It’s okay. If you don’t want to, we can think about something else.” Yoongi reassures.
“It’s not fair with you.” Hoseok whispers, squeezing harder on their hold.
“I know. But we have to do something to protect ourselves, right?” Hoseok only nods. Yoongi knows that they can have problems in the future, but right now, he just wants the wrinkle between Hoseok’s eyebrows gone.
“Okay.” Hoseok releases a breath he didn’t know he was holding, shaking his head positively to ensure himself. “How we do this?”
In the next morning, they are gathered with his long time friends; Seokjin and Namjoon.
Whenever they have important news to tell, they'd meet to talk about it over brunch. Seokjin says that eating while discussing things lightens up the mood. Someone who's anxious can easily forget nervousness if they keep their hands busy.
They couldn't agree more.
As they are unpacking their food on Yoongi's table– chocolate cake, cups of black coffee, cookies, fruits. Hoseok steals a glance at Namjoon. He watches his worried face and feels guilty. He told over phone – not everything – what happened and can see now how much his friend cares about him.
Namjoon chose not to pressure him over their call and since he got there, he didn't bring it up. Hoseok’s glad. That way, he can think about how to tell him Yoongi’s plan without sounding insane.
Namjoon and Hoseok were friends before Yoongi came to the picture: Hoseok knew him from the school they both teach at. Namjoon is an English teacher, while Hoseok was at the arts program, as a dance teacher.
As expected, they became close really fast; being born at the same year was good enough reason to let them have the same interests.
They would spend so much time together that sometimes, colleagues asked if they were dating. But, as much as Namjoon would be a great boyfriend, they didn't connect in that way. They were born to be just friends. And they were okay with that.
Seokjin, on the other hand, came along with Yoongi. They were housemates since they both moved to Seoul, desperately looking for someone to share the rent. In that time, Seokjin had recently graduated as an actor and he knew that to start his career, he had to move to the capital.
As for Yoongi, he wanted to help small companies with his composition skills. He wanted to be free with his creativity work; no worries about writing meaningless love songs. It didn't take too long for him to be under BigHit.
Two months ago though, Yoongi moved out, to a smaller place, just enough for him and now they live separately. (But Seokjin often barges into his house.)
After setting down everything, they sat, sharing about events that occurred during their weeks first. It was easy to fall in a soft-spoken chat.
Around fifteen minutes later, stomachs almost full, Hoseok addresses to the matter that brought everyone together this morning.
They listen carefully, even Seokjin, who keeps his mouth shut until Hoseok finishes with a heavy sigh.
“I can help you! I'm handsome and I'm going to be a movie star soon.” Seokjin suggests, smiling wildly.
“Pff, are you kidding me?” Yoongi exclaims, rolling his eyes, taking the last strawberries into his mouth.
“What? You jealous? Promise I won't let Hoseokie fall for me, even though it's a difficult task.” he says full of himself and winks. It pisses Yoongi off. They would fight about things like this. He knows that Seokjin is kidding but it's a serious subject, for fuck's sake. He shouldn't be playing like this, he was supposed to be helping. Yoongi breathes.
“No. It has to be someone who doesn't know me very well. You two would ruin everything easily.” Hoseok explains before his boyfriend says anything, pointing between Seokjin and Namjoon.
“Mm, makes sense. I could see if there's someone willing to help.” Namjoon comments, sipping on his coffee, expression softer than before.
“Thanks, Joonie.” Hoseok murmurs, glad that he has such a good friend.
“Me too! Can I announce on twitter?”
Everybody sighs.

Taehyung is walking around his living room anxiously, waiting for Jungkook’s message. Jimin had arrived earlier, since he felt bad for leaving him alone the day before. Taehyung kept reassuring him that he was fine, but Jimin fucking sensed that something was wrong.
After putting up some fight, he admitted that he had cried his eyes out, almost doing it again when Jimin came to hug him. They talked about it and now he was feeling so much better. Yes, he had a rough night, but Jimin was there to help him on the following day.
They had hamburgers for lunch and now were just chilling on the couch.
“Tae, stop.” Jimin pleads, for what it feels like the fiftieth time.
“Sorry.” he apologizes, giving little slaps on his own cheeks, trying to relax.
“I’m his boyfriend and I’m less worried than you.” Jimin notes, chuckling softly.
“I bet he hasn't been ignoring your texts.” Taehyung points out, annoyed.
“Maybe…” Jimin says regretfully. Taehyung laughs. Yeah, he knows it’s true. “Ha! We can go now.” he informs seconds later, putting his phone on his pocket as he stands up.
“Finally!” Taehyung exclaims, relieved. He’s still alive.
Taehyung pulled over and as soon as he did so, Jungkook exited the station, a blonde guy right behind him.
“Hyung!” Jungkook greets when he gets close enough, big smile on his lips. Classes must have been good.
“Who’s that?” Taehyung asks, fixing his gaze directly at the stranger.
“Oh, that’s Yoongi-hyung, my teacher!” he introduces them. “Yoongi-hyung, that’s Tae-hyung and this is my boyfriend, Jiminie-hyung.” only then he registers that Jimin is no longer on the passenger seat, instead, he’s handshaking with Yoongi.
“Hi, nice to meet you both.” he nods to Taehyung, who swears he’s not blushing. “Just came with Jungkook ‘cause he kept saying we needed to meet, so…” he trails off, suddenly shy.
Fuck, watching closely, this guy is really handsome.
His eyes are cat-alike, sharp, ready to eat his prey. His lips are red and pouty though, contrasting absurdly with his previous fierce feature. His hands are large and his fingers are long and slim, suitable for a pianist. His hair is blond and messy, still, it appeared to be soft. And he’s slightly shorter than Jimin. That makes him smile.
Giving it a second thought, he’s very cute too.
“Yeah, it’s my pleasure.” Taehyung responds, still inside of the car. He thinks if he stands up, he’s going to fall down. His knees are shaking just from watching him.
“Thanks for your patience Yoongi-hyung. I’ll be back tomorrow, okay?” Jungkook starts to bid a farewell, but Taehyung stops him.
“Why don’t you join us? We’re going to grab drinks right now.” he blurts out. Fuck.
“Are we?” Jungkook questions, surprised.
“Yes, we are! Did you forget, Kook?” Jimin intervenes, backing up his soulmate.
Taehyung suddenly feels ashamed. Why his big mouth had to say that? Please, say no. Please, say no. They are all staring at Yoongi expectedly. Yoongi closes his eyes and sighs.
“Okay. Let me grab my stuff.” and he turns around, jogging back to the station.
His best friends take the cue and go sit on the backseat, and soon he’s listening to Jimin squeak happily:
“Oh my god, Tae! You were almost eating him with your eyes.” his soulmate laughs, loudly. Taehyung can’t say otherwise. He knows he was.
“Shut up.” he demands.
“Tae is having a crush on Yoongi-hyung??” Jungkook realizes right after, screaming.
“Guys, stop. He’s handsome but it’s just that.” he tries to explain, but he has a feeling that the duo won’t drop it. Jimin opens his mouth to continue to tease him, but Yoongi knocks on Taehyung’s window, startling them.
Yoongi takes the passenger seat, after Taehyung advising him it’s best to let the couple alone. They engage in a small chat, discovering basic things like their age and what they do for a living.
Taehyung learns that besides giving free piano classes, Yoongi works in a small music company and they get really excited after that. He asks if he can listen to any of his tracks soon and Yoongi promises to send one to him if they exchange numbers. Taehyung is quick to give him his phone and watches amusily as he types out the info.
While Yoongi’s busy, he glances at the car’s mirror and catches Jimin smiling to him through it. He mouths: Stop! You’re embarrassing me. Jimin looks away as he was silently asked to, but he smiles until they reach their final destination.
After two beers, Taehyung is more loosen up and he’s having fun. They are currently at a steakhouse, eating while speaking loudly. They all got along pretty well and he’s glad that now he’s got someone new to talk to.
Although Yoongi’s naturally shy, when he’s really invested in something he likes, he tends to be very energetic. Taehyung loves it. And listens to everything he has to say carefully, afraid to miss an important information about him.
He notes that his eyes sparkles when he chats about music and it’s absolutely endearing. Taehyung really can feel his love for it and it vibrates through his body easily. Yoongi shows interest in his life too and he tells him everything he wants to know.
Jimin and Jungkook were off to somewhere he can't remember they saying and Taehyung it’s aware that the real reason was to let them alone.
He’s been having a good time with Yoongi. The guy’s funny, always has something savage to say and pouts adorably when he’s teased too much. Taehyung thinks that he hasn’t experienced this in a long time. He decides that he really likes him.
“You’re really pretty.” Taehyung says out of nowhere and it catches him off guard.
“What?” he’s surprised. Taehyung notices the blush rising to his cheeks. Cute.
“You’re really pretty.” he repeats, unashamed. He has to let Yoongi know.
“T-thanks.” Yoongi finally says, lifting his glass of water to his lips.
Taehyung finds his actions adorable and his heart aches so good. It’s that what it feels like? When you meet someone and thinks that they can turn your whole world upside down? In a great way?
Taehyung has to admit that he never felt something like this before. It’s new, it’s exciting and it’s a shame that he can’t process it properly because his brain is slower than usual. But the buzz is amazing, he doesn’t want it to end.
He’s about to tell him something else but Yoongi abruptly stands up.
“I need to go. Tomorrow’s Monday after all.” Taehyung agrees, too lazy to argue with him right now. “Text me, alright? I’ll be waiting for Jungkook in the afternoon.” then he tosses a few bills on the table, getting closer to the door and leaving.
Taehyung smiles.
His best friends show up ten minutes later, red lips and hairs a mess. He doesn’t need to ask what they were doing and where the fuck they went to. It’s obvious.
“So, how did it go with Yoongi?” Jimin questions, sitting in front of him. Jungkook had excused himself to bring more glasses of water. The three of them needed it. Mostly Taehyung, who seemed to be spacing out.
“Alright,” Jimin decides, “I'm driving us back.”
“He’s really cute.” it’s all he says before tiredly closing his eyes. He might pass out anytime now.
Taehyung can figure this out later.
He has Yoongi’s number anyway.
