Chapter 1: Sisters

Chapter Text

Jimin’s first feeling when he woke up wasn’t warm and fuzzy or blissfully sleepy. No, the first thing he felt when he awoke was pure rage. The sound of his alarm clock annoying him to the point of thinking about rolling off of his bed onto a sharp object and ending it all. Was he being dramatic? No, not all. The thing is, that sound, the awful sound, could only mean one thing. Summer was over, and it was his first day back at highschool.

Jimin threw his blanket off of his body, flinging it to the end of the bed in a fit of fury. He grabbed his phone and dismissed the alarm, the words ‘first day of school!’ spread across his phone screen. Jimin glared at past Jimin for setting the alarm with such optimism for his first day back. Huffing and puffing his way to the bathroom to pee, Jimin glanced inside his little sisters bedroom. She was sleeping peacefully, her chubby cheeks squished against her pink pillow with a spot of drool. Jimin couldn’t help but feel jealous. He checked the time, at the moment it was only 6:40 so his sisters didn’t have to be up for another 20 minutes. Jimin was only up because he needed to be the one to wake them up. After he peed and got ready himself, he made his way towards Jiwoo’s room.

Jiwoo is also Jimin’s younger sister, but only by a year. Jiwoo’s room was right next to his, with Jiah’s room, Jimin’s youngest sister, across from his. Not concerned about being quiet since he was going to wake them up anyway, Jimin burst into Jiwoo’s room, slamming the door so hard it knocked into her dresser. Jiwoo’s room was jammed tight with all of her things. Clothes all over the floor and thrown atop of many various items including her lamp, desk, even her bed. Everything in her room was purple. Purple walls, purple bedding, purple lighting. Jiwoo once told Jimin that it was just apart of being a purple lover, but Jimin’s not sure if it’s just her that’s crazy and she is trying to bring everyone else down with her.

“Jiwoo get up, it’s time for school!” Very slowly Jiwoo rose from her bed. A waterfall of her hair covered her face, but though her hair her eyes glared at Jimin, almost seeming dead inside with bags underneath her eyes and slightly bloodshot. Jimin was sure he had seen this exact scene in a horror movie. She just grunted. “Okayyy then demon child, be ready in thirty minutes we have to leave by 7:30 so we aren’t late for the bus.” She just glared harder at him. Jimin quickly shut the door genuinely feeling a little frightened.

Next was his little angel, Jiah. Jiah was a quite obedient younger sister, and also the only morning person in the household. Despite her being an alpha, she listened well. Jimin was nervous for when she truly presented and she wasn’t his little angel anymore. Her awakening was very different from Jiwoo’s. Jimin crept to the edge of the bed, brushing Jiah’s hair from her face. “Jiah angel, it’s time to wake up.” Her eyes fluttered open taking in Jimin’s smiling face. She gave him a sleepy smile before lifting her arms to Jimin’s shoulders silently asking for Jimin to pick her up. Jimin tried not to grunt when he lifted her. She was officially turning five this month and Jimin tried not to be too emotional about it. Her first day of preschool. Jimin carried her to the kitchen where he was met with a still very grumpy Jiwoo.

“I’m glad your up, I was considering calling an exorcist to wake you up this morning.” Jimin smiled jokingly at Jiwoo. Jiwoo scoffed.

“Like you’re any prettier waking up."

“Hey! Don’t even pretend like I’m not a cute sleeper ya ugly. I will never let you live down you keeping a photo of me sleeping on your phone because it made you happy.” Jimin stuck his tongue out at her. Jiwoo rolled her eyes and continued sipping her protein shake. Jiah giggled at Jimin sticking his tongue out and joined him.

“Hey! Come here you traitor.” Jiwoo exclaimed reaching out to take Jiah so Jimin could get their food ready. Jimin prepared a bowl of plain yogurt for the both of them to share sitting next to his sisters. Jiah sat on Jiwoo’s lap as Jimin took turns between feeding her and himself. Jiah wasn’t a shy eater, slurping and cheering for more. If Jimin weren’t used to it he probably would have been a little grossed out. After they ate breakfast Jiwoo scrolled through her phone already ready to go to school. She wore a pair of overall shorts over a purple crop top that said “Omega’s are stronger than you”. Jiwoo was an omega along with Jimin. Jimin admired his younger sister way more than he would ever say aloud. She was way stronger than him in every aspect, more confident, better at sports, prettier. She would be one of the main reasons he hated being an omega if it weren’t for her sharing her strength with him to keep going. Jimin always put a lot of pressure on himself, he wanted to be the perfect omega, skinny, cute but also beautiful, with a strong will power and confidence, everything that Jiwoo was. But he was also stuck with the body and mindset of a boy. Jimin struggled and still does everyday to find that balance. He was one of the ten boy omegas at his school. Luckily that was one of the highest percentages of omega boys in schools that he could blend in enough. Before they went to this school though Jimin got bullied a lot.

Sitting Jiah down on the bathroom toilet, Jimin helped her brush her teeth and making sure she takes her vitamins. They were crunched on time so Jimin quickly glanced at himself in the mirror. His brown hair was sort of a mess, long enough to cover his eyes and get caught in his big glasses, but he kind of liked it like that, made it easier to hide. He wore a big oversized yellow hoodie and black skinny jeans. Plopping some chapstick to apply to his dry lips later, and a hairbrush and hair ties for doing his sisters’ hair on the bus ride there into his bag he quickly helped Jiah put on her shoes and called for Jiwoo to hurry up.

On the bus Jimin sat with Jiah on his lap and Jiwoo next to him, it was crammed, but he didn’t trust Jiah in her own seat, not because of her but because of others, and he had to do both of theirs hair. He started with Jiah’s gently brushing it and braiding it into two pigtail/side braids. Once he pulled out his phone and used his camera to get her approval he moved onto Jiwoo. He brushed Jiwoo’s hair into two space buns on the top of her head.

“Thanks big bro,” Jiwoo thanked him smiling. “Y’know for always doing so good on our hair you could put a little effort into yourself Minnie.”

“Hmmm, but then I would steal all of the alphas if they knew just how pretty I was!”

“Haha, I will still be the prettiest.” Jiwoo argued back, a teasing smile on her face.

“Actually Jiah is the prettiest.” Jiah nodded her head enthusiastically.

Watching Jiah get off the bus and meet with her Preschool teacher had Jimin balling. Of course he held it in until she left not wanting to worry her, but he knew she could still smell his distressed pheromones, especially how many times she reassured him by telling him she “wasn’t scared she was a big girl”, as she scented him. Watching her now he knew she wasn’t lying. She confidently strode up to her teacher bowed and instantly began to make friends just like the little alpha she was. Jimin knew his eyes were red when he and Jiwoo got off at their own stop. Jiwoo joked and jabbed at him calling him a baby, but he knew she was aware of just how much this affected him which is why she snuck Jiah’s teddy into his backpack.

Now as Jimin and Jiwoo separate ways, Jimin going towards his grades hallway and Jiwoo going towards her grade, he became even more emotional. High School was where he was reminded everyday how much he hated people. The smell of hormonal alpha and desperate omega filling his nose with a stench that made him sneeze. He didn’t fit in here like Jiwoo did. She was a pretty confident omega with many friends and skills. Jimin was only good at maths class and language arts, not social skills or sports. Taking a deep breath Jimin opened his locker and set Jiah’s teddy on his top shelf, just as a little incentive for getting through the day.

“Is that your teddy bear?” His locker neighbor asked. She scrunched up her nose in a way that made Jimin feel like he was a glass of spoiled milk that she was disgusted by. Sammy was a very judgy and traditional omega that has hated Jimin since day one just because he was a male omega. Jimin tensed up ready for the teasing and name calling.

“Um actually it’s my little sisters, it’s her first day of preschool so I just needed it for a bit of reassurance.” Sammy looked liked she was about say another rude thing, but she was cut off.

“I think that’s really sweet Jiminie, is that why your scent is mixed with a little alpha? Your sister scented you?” Taehyung was someone that Jimin wanted to be friends with but was way to shy. If you asked Jimin if he had any friends, if he was desperate enough to not look like a loser by saying ‘I don’t have any friends’ he would say Taehyung. Taehyung had been nice to him since day one and occasionally even making Jimin laugh. But Jimin didn’t interact with him much other than that, concerned that Taehyung just felt bad for him. Jimin especially felt bad when people would ask Taehyung about him. Taehyung usually responded kindly saying that Jimin was an adorable omega that he wants to be friends with, Jimin still felt awful about the whole thing. He wanted to die from embarresment, the fact that people asked Taehyung about why the loved by everyone Tae talked to him .

Jimin nodded his head shyly in response to Taehyung’s question. “What class do you have first Jiminie?”

“Um, economics.” Jimin responded.

“Cool! Me too! Let’s walk together!” Taehyung grabbed Jimin’s wrist and began to pull him along. Tae was a really cool alpha and had never once grabbed Jimin in a way that hurt him. Jimin used to flinch everytime Tae touched him, but he had grown used to it now, Tae was just a touchy alpha. Once Jimin sat down after Tae demanded that he sit next to him, Jimin fidgeted with his sleeve, nervous with all of Tae’s friends gathered around them.

“Jeon!” Jimin quickly glanced up when Tae waved over the boy just entering the classroom. Jeon Jungkook was the alpha. He was handsome, good at everything, good with his words and overall the perfect alpha. In all the years that Jimin and Jungkook went to high school together, they hadn’t even talked once. Jimin was sure the Jeon Jungkook didn’t even know who he was, especially considering he was in his sisters grade. Jimin glanced nervously at Tae willing him with his eyes to stop bringing everyone over to their area. Jimin tried to discreetly scootch his desk further away from the crowd, but Tae slung his arm over Jimin’s shoulder stopping him. Jimin was sure he did it on purpose to stop Jimin from escaping. Tae had never been this forward or pushy of friendship before, Jimin wondered what changed. But before Jimin could spiral in his thoughts a new series of chaotic thoughts ran through his head. Jungkook was extremely good looking. Tae was too, with his headband exposing his forehead and square jaw, but Jungkook looked like he walked right out of an omegas dream magazine. Jungkook has a sharp jaw, black messy hair that looked effortlessly good, piercing brown eyes, and smirking lips. He was fit, with wide shoulders and a walk that exudes alpha. Even his scent was luxurous a fresh manly scent. Jimin didn’t realize he was spacing until Tae nudged him with his elbow.

“You’re drooling Jiminie.” Tae smiled wide and teasing. Jimin sputtered, his face burning red.

“I-I wasn’t! I was just- thinking!”

“About what?” Jungkook asked, an eyebrow cocked.

“Uh-my-my alpha!” Jimin squeezed his eyes shut wishing himself into the ground.

“Oh? Is that why you smell different?”

“You-you know my original scent?”

“Sure I do, peaches. But now it’s mixed with something a bit spicier. Cinnamon?”

“Umm, yeah that’s what my alpha smells like.” Jimin ruffled his hair nervously. Taehyung bursted out laughing.

“Omg this is hilarious. Jungkook don’t let him fool you, his alpha is his 4 year old sister.” If Jimin was blushing before, he was on fire now.

“Really? I didn’t know you had another sister.”

“Um yeah, today was her first day of school and I got a little distressed over it so she scented me. She’s just now learning how so…”

“Cute,” Jungkook replied, giving Jimin a look he didn’t quite understand. Before Jimin’s mind could spiral more the bell rang and Jungkook took a seat in front of him and Tae.
