Chapter Text

Taehyung didn’t know why he was here. His mother had suggested his family all go stay at this family summer camp. For an entire month. Taehyung frowned when the car pulled up to the front of camp. They were actually in the middle of nowhere.

“Tae-Tae! C’mon, get out!” His younger brother shoved him out of the car.

“Alright! Alright!” Taehyung squaked, climbing out of the car with an excited Jimin following him.

“Oh my gosh. Isn’t this place great?” Jimin smiled, spinning around to face Taehyung.

“Yeah, definitely,” Taehyung gave a weak smile to Jimin and turned around to help get the suitcases out of the car, almost slamming into someone. “Shit, I’m so sorry…” Taehyung mumbled to the person he almost gave a concussion to.

“It’s fine!” The boy chirped, “I’m Hoseok, I work here.” He held out a hand and Taehyung awkwardly shook it.

    “Kim Taehyung.”

“Are you excited for your stay here Taehyung?” Hoseok asked as he helped unload the rest of the suitcases.

“I guess? I mean I sort of got dragged along here but I’ll make the most out of it.”

“That’s the spirit!” Hoseok punched him lightly in the arm. “What room are you staying in? I can help carry your bags for you.”

“Oh I don’t know you can ask my paren- Jimin! Don’t play in the pond!” Taehyung cut himself off as he watched in horror as Jimin nearly fell backwards into a small pond of ducks. Leaving Hoseok behind, Taehyung sprinted to the pond where Jimin was now sitting in the mud. How can a 10 year old get into this much trouble?

“Jimin what were you doing?” Taehyung asks as he wipes some mud off of his brother’s face using his shirt. Jimin giggles. “Well, nevermind. We have to find the banquet hall because there’s some sort of special dinner happening.”

“Okay!” And Jimin takes off again, running towards Taehyung’s parents. Taehyung sighs. How am I ever going to keep track of him? Taehyung walks up to the cobble stoned building, pushing open the heavy glass doors. A wave of warmth rolls over Taehyung as he steps inside and he smiles. He finds his family at a small table in the back of the room, awkwardly stepping around other families dancing to a song on the dance floor.

“Taehyung, where have you been? Dinner is about to start!” Taehyung’s mom fusses over him.

“I was talking to one of the employees.” Taehyung states flatly, digging into a steak that was placed in front of him. As Taehyung is taking a sip of water the lights dim and the crowd parts for a couple in the middle of the dance floor. Taehyung almost chokes because holy shit that guy is beautiful. Taehyung can’t seem to remember how to breathe because a song (rockabye by clean bandit) starts playing and christ this guy is placing his hands on the girl he’s dancing with and all Taehyung can do is stare. He’s wearing tight black skinny jeans and a shirt that is sticking to his chest so Taehyung can see the faint outline of abs in the spotlight. He’s also wearing a black jacket lined with gold and his black fluffy hair is falling ever so slightly over his face. Taehyung is so gone. Taehyung watches in amazement as the couple walks around each other in time to the song, hands ghosting on one another. The beat starts to pick up and Taehyung wants to scream as the man whips off his jacket to reveal toned muscles. The dancers halt and then start to roll their bodies in time to the music and he hears a cheer of “Yeah Jungkook!” from the crowd. He whips his head around to see Hoseok standing at the door, cheering. Jungkook. Taehyung is so lost in his own thoughts that he doesn’t realize the song has ended until his vision is blocked with guests standing up, applauding. Jungkook smiles and bows to the crowd, collecting his jacket which he had discarded on the floor and ran a hand through his hair. How was Taehyung going to survive a month at this family camp knowing that he was here.

—————

After finishing his meal, Taehyung sighed, getting up from the table. He double checked with his parents that they had Jimin under control before making a beeline for the exit so he could find the room he was staying in. He was walking with his head down so he didn’t notice the figure standing in front of him. They collided ungracefully and Taehyung leapt back in surprise.

“Taehyung!” Hoseok smiled from the ground and how are you smiling I just head butted you?

“Oh hi Hoseok! I’m so sorry,” Taehyung said politely, reaching out a hand to help him up. “Uh… what are those?” Taehyung pointed to three packages, one of which was opened.

“I’m in charge of snack duty tonight,” Hoseok replied, dusting himself off.

“Do you need help?” Taehyung asked as he watched Hoseok try to balance the three cardboard boxes on top of each other.

“That would be great actually,” Hoseok sighed with relief as Taehyung took one of the packages from under his arm.

“So uh…” Taehyung started as the two made their way up a brick pathway. “What made you want to help out here?”

“Oh!” Hoseok beamed at Taehyung, eyes lighting up as he started talking about his job. “My grandfather actually owns part of the family camp and he thought I would be a great fit here! He said I would be really good with kids and hey, it’s good money!” Taehyung laughed lightly and Hoseok led the two up a flight of stairs.

“I- where are we going?” Taehyung had stopped in his tracks as he picked up the faint sound of music coming from the big house in the distance that it seemed Hoseok was taking him to.

“This is where all the staff hang out!” Hoseok explained quickly. “Most of them are dancers, like the ones that performed earlier tonight, and since the type of dancing isn’t allowed at camp they usually all dance up here!”

“What do you mean the type of dancing they like isn’t allowed?” Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows but Hoseok only gave him a wink in return and swung open the door of the house they had no arrived at. Taehyung’s jaw dropped when he saw what was inside. The room was packed with dancers who were less dancing and more…. grinding on each other. What sort of sex club had he gotten himself into?? He was torn from his thoughts, however, as Hoseok motioned for him to follow him through the center of the crowd to deliver snacks. Taehyung obliged and only bumped into a few dancers, apologizing profusely whenever he did, but made it to the snack table.

“What do you think?” Hoseok asked, wiping the sweat from his face.

“A lot different than what I had in mind!” Taehyung laughed. “This isn’t some weird orgy though, right? Because I did not sign up f-“

“No, no!” Hoseok laughed, doubling over in laughter. “Don’t worry, it’s nothing like that. It’s more about the dancing here than the actual, er, sex part of it I guess? But nothing sexual happens here.. I don’t think.”

“That’s reassuring,” Taehyung smiles at Hoseok, finishing unloading his box of snacks. The door to the house swings open and Jungkook and the girl come running in, hand in hand. The music seems to get louder (if that’s even possible at this point) and the two dancers immediately join in with the rest of the dancing crowd.

“That over there is Jungkook,” Hoseok points over to the boy whom Taehyung already knew by name, but nodded nevertheless. “He’s been here for two years to pursue dance because his family didn’t want to. He’s the crowd favorite and is usually seen with Irene over there.” Hoseok motions to the girl and it’s the first time Taehyung takes his eyes off of Jungkook. The girl is shorter than the male dancer but holds herself with a posture that makes her look much taller than she actually is. She has long brown hair that is constantly getting tucked behind her ears and the dancer is wearing a small, red summer dress.

“Are they…” Taehyung starts but realizes he doesn’t want to be too obvious about his minor (major) crush on Jungkook. He clears his throat. “Um. Are they together?”

“Jungkook and Irene? No. Everyone thinks they are but they’re just super close friends.” Taehyung’s fingers start to fidget as he sees Irene drape herself over Jungkook’s torso but the new information makes him feel a bit better.

“Actually- hang on. Jungkook!” Hoseok yells, waving Jungkook over to the snack table.

“Wait what?? I’m not even supposed to be here!” Taehyung hissed, ducking down.

“Oh, don’t worry it’ll be okay,” Hoseok replies, pulling Taehyung up from the box he was trying to hide behind as Jungkook makes his way over, abandoning Irene in the process.

“Hyung! Hey!” Jungkook smiles and what the fuck how can he be cute and hot at the same time this I definitely did not sign up for and wraps his arms around Hoseok, bringing him in for a hug.

“I wanted to introduce you to Taehyung,” Hoseok motions to Taehyung and he awkwardly sticks out his hand to Jungkook.

“Nice to meet you,” Jungkook smiles at Taehyung and fuck his smile is even cuter up close . “Are you part of the staff?”

“What? Oh.. uh no. I helped Hoseok hyung bring the snacks up.” Taehyung laughs awkwardly, jabbing his thumb at the food behind him.

“Well if you’re not a staff member does that mean you don’t dance?”

“Not really…” Taehyung says slowly, not quite sure where this conversation was going.

“I could teach you if you want.” Jungkook smirks, hand extending towards Taehyung.

“But uh, the snacks! I can’t leave the snacks! Maybe some other time haha,” Taehyung babbles but is shortly cut off by Hoseok shoving him into Jungkook.

“I’ve got the snacks covered! Go on and dance! It’ll be fun!” Hoseok shouts over the music. Taehyung tries to protest but eventually gives up, letting Jungkook take him by the hand and guide him to the middle of the dance floor. Taehyung faintly registers “Say it” by Flume being played in the background but all of a sudden Jungkook is grabbing his waist and pulling them closer together and what the fuck

“Okay now you’re just going to circle your hips like this,” Jungkook demonstrates, swaying his hips to the music. Taehyung thinks he started drooling because honestly no one should be allowed to move like that, especially with such tight jeans on.

“Like this?” Taehyung asks nervously, moving his hips slightly to the left.

“Sort of!” Taehyung can tell Jungkook’s trying not to laugh at him because he’s never taken one dance lesson in his poor gay life.

“Don’t say it like that!” Taehyung whines, “I already know I’m bad.”

“No, it really was good! Plus, practice makes perfect.” Jungkook guides Taehyung’s hands to his waist and Taehyung gulps. “Now I’m going to do the move again but this time I want you to feel me do it.”

“Feel- what?” But Jungkook is starting to move his hips again and fuck fuck fuck Taehyung might have to get off the dance floor soon because if Jungkook was going to move his crotch any closer to Taehyung’s then there might be a problem. The music faded out and Taehyung sighed in relief, removing his hands from Jungkook.

“Well, Taehyung. I’d love to teach you some more moves later on!” Jungkook yells as the next song starts up. Taehyung isn’t sure if there was supposed to be an innuendo behind that but he forces a smile to the dancer and promptly sprints out of the room, out onto the porch. He sits down on the steps and rests his chin on his hands. Dancing lessons? Boys with long hair who make his stomach do somersaults? Taehyung flopped over and sighed because he was really. Really in for it.
