Chapter Text
I heard a meow coming from outside and I sighed. Bout time my cat showed up, I was ready for bed for half an hour already. I looked out my window and noticed my cat was carrying something. I opened the sliding glass door to my apartment and let my cat in. It took me two seconds to realize that my cat was carrying a bat.
“Oh gods! Lilith, really?” I took the bat from her mouth, she didn’t even fight me, and looked at the poor guy. He seemed to be breathing just fine, but he had holes from where my cats teeth were. “Poor little one, why do you have to be so mean sometimes Lilith?”
Lilith simply meowed at me and walked away, slinking into the darkness. I sighed and helped the bat hang on my flannel before getting a box, a pillow and put it in the spare room. I tried to clean the wounds on it but it seemed to want to fight me at every turn. I finally gave up and put the bat in the box.
“Hopefully you can come back from Lilith, she is a troublemaker.”
I heard a small noise from the bat as I closed the door, making sure Lilith couldn’t get back in. I curled up in bed, after making sure the house was locked up, and quickly fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning, hearing a crash in my apartment. I jumped into action, grabbing my baseball bat and walked into the common area. I didn’t see anyone, strange. I heard another noise and looked at the spare bedroom. Had Lilith managed to get in there? I slowly crept towards the door, bat at the ready and opened it. Inside was a man, standing on top of the box where I had placed the bat.
In an instant the figure turned towards me and I swung my baseball bat. I was shocked as he caught it, without any effort. He tugged it away, making me fall forward into the room. Lilith streaked by and started to rub all over his legs. Did she know this man?
“What’s your name?”
His voice was demanding and it pissed me off.
“Excuse me? Your the one in my apartment, with no permission, standing on a bat that my car brought in!”
“I am the bat.” I hesitated and looked at his feet, indeed there was no more bat there. “Again, what is your name?”
“Y/n Y/L/N.” I said quickly.
“Where did you find my cat?”
“Your cat? I found Lilith roaming the streets, no shots, no nothing. So I brought her home and took care of her.”
“Lilith is my cat, and she has been for centuries.”
I was confused. Utterly confused by this. I had found Lilith months ago, and no one had answered the ad I had put out for her. She had a collar that told me her name, but no number on it, so I decided to keep her. Now this guy, who was a bat, now a man is saying that he’s hers?! Wait… he turned into a human.
“Are you a vampire?”
I finally took a good look at him, he was dressed in black ripped skinny jeans, and a long sleeve black shirt. His hair was blonde and he had a button nose.
“Really? It took you this long to figure that out?”
“I don’t like your tone, watch it.” I said, crossing my arm. Vampire or not, he would not be rude to me.
“Alright, alright. Let me tell you my name. I’m Min Yoongi, a vampire. And thank you for looking after my cat for me.”
I looked down at Lilith and glared at her. She had some sort of smirk going on.
“Your welcome. I guess you should take her and go. Sense she is your cat.” I wasn’t trying to be snappy, but I had grown attached to Lilith and to see her go was going to hurt.
“Actually, I was wondering if you could watch her for a couple more weeks. I’m in the process of moving, and she likes to get out. However, she seems to come back to your place every night. I don’t want her getting lost.”
This was weird. First a bat, brought in by Lilith, that turned out to be a vampire, who was now asking me to watch his cat. It was giving me a headache. I rubbed my temples, trying to process all of this.
“Fine.” I finally said. Yoongi smiled at me and walked past me, Lilith staying in place. He opened the sliding door and looked at me briefly.
“I’ll be back soon.” And then he was gone. I quickly shut the door, not wanting the cold to get in. I heard a meow and looked back at Lilith, a grin still on her face.
“Little shit.”
