"Come on Shou, I've been wanting to try this for ages!"
Shouta stared incredulously at the object Hizashi held up, his eyes wide. "You have got to be fucking kidding me," he said without thinking. The blond pouted, his lips pursing almost comically.
"You don't have to be so mean about it," he huffed. "But come on, I've been wanting to see you in one of these for I don't even know how long!" He shook the white garment for emphasis, the buckles jingling with the motion.
It just made Shouta stare harder at the straitjacket.
Hizashi, his best friend and occasional friend with benefits, had run into him earlier that night near the end of his patrol and excitedly demanded he follow him to a nearby abandoned building. Shouta had never been one to say no to him, not when he'd been harboring a crush on the man for years. But still, a straitjacket?
"Why the hell do you want me in a straitjacket?" he asked incredulously. They'd had sex a few times, sure, but this? This went way beyond his expectations.
Hizashi bit his lip now, shifting on his feet nervously as he averted his gaze. His amber glasses had been switched out for his regular lenses, allowing Shouta a clear view of his bashful green irises. "It's, uh, kinda been a fantasy for a while," he admitted sheepishly. "It's just, you're always so smooth and graceful and flexible, y'know? And then one day I saw this video of an escape artist, and he kinda looked like you, and then—the thought was just stuck." He laughed sheepishly, releasing one hand from the restraint to rub the back of his neck. "What can I say? The idea of seeing you squirm out of one of these is really hot."
His cheeks took on a pink tint as he ducked his head with an almost embarrassed smile, and Shouta felt his face flush at the sight.
Shouta had never been one to say no to Hizashi, not even now.
"So just hold out my arms?"
"Yeah, perfect! Just like that!"
Hizashi grinned as he helped ease the jacket over Shouta's outstretched arms, almost like helping him into a coat in reverse. The underground hero shifted uncomfortably on his feet as the canvas material slid over his baggy jumpsuit, making the fabric press closer to his arms. His costume felt oddly light compared to usual, the pockets' contents emptied into a bag Hizashi brought along with his other gear.
"Are you sure you don't want me to undress for this?" he asked skeptically.
"Nah, having you in your hero costume makes it feel a bit more natural. Like, you're a hero who got captured by the villains and needs to escape! It's way sexier!" Hizashi flashed a big grin before circling behind Shouta, missing the way the dark-haired man's cheeks darkened. They didn't do much role-playing, but he had to admit the scene Hizashi posed was... Enticing. A bit of discomfort swelled up at the thought of actually being captured in one of these, but then he remembered this was Hizashi and pushed the thought away.
By the time his reverie ended the blond had begun doing the buckles on the back, starting with the one at the waist. Shouta stiffened as he felt the straps tighten sharply, the pressure digging into his abdomen slightly. "That's a little tight," he muttered.
"You okay?" Hizashi asked, pausing. "Do you want me to loosen it?" His voice had the slightest note of disappointment, and Shouta sighed as he gave in.
"No, it's fine like this. Just don't make it any tighter."
"Great!" Hizashi fed the strap through the buckle to fasten it in place and moved on to the others above it. Shouta stood carefully still as he worked, trying not to fidget too much. He looked at the sleeves to pass the time, studying them curiously. He had never seen the sleeves in their unfastened state, photos of straitjackets tended to have them done up. The ends were sealed shut, a strap similar to those lining the jacket's back extending from the tips.
The left sleeve's strap had a metal buckle on the end, piquing his curiosity. "Do you just connect the sleeves together at the end?" he asked.
"Yep!" Hizashi confirmed cheerfully. He fastened another buckle on Shouta's back, yanking it tight. Shouta winced at how tight it was, tugging at the neckline around the high collar reflexively to try to ease the sense of suffocation. Given he had a thick, stiff layer of canvas surrounding his hands, he didn't accomplish much more than pull the loose collar slightly away from his neck.
"What's with the collar?" he asked, glancing back at Hizashi with a frown. "Don't these things usually have low necklines?"
"They do, but those make it easier to slip out," Hizashi replied dismissively. "I want it to be at least a little bit of a challenge!"
Shouta huffed but didn't protest. If it made Hizashi happy, he could put up with it. "Fine. What next?"
Hizashi perked up instantly, flashing a grin that could put the sun to shame. "Okay! Next is the arms!" He bounced around to Shouta's front side, grabbing his right wrist and the strap attached to the end. "Come on, right side first! Just slip it right through the loop."
"Got it." Shouta obligingly moved his hand towards the loop over his abdomen, and Hizashi slipped the strap through it before tugging the rest of his arm through. He lifted his left arm so Hizashi could access the vertical loop underneath the armpit more easily, letting the blond guide his arm through. As it stood Shouta could still move it, the sleeve lacking any point to securely latch onto, but the one-armed hug still felt slightly forced after passing through two loops.
"Feels weird," he muttered, frowning down at his single crossed arm.
"You'll get used to it," Hizashi assured him, patting his shoulder. Shouta shot him a deadpan look, not amused by the notion he'd be in it long enough to adjust to the feeling, but Hizashi just laughed. "Oh, lighten up Shou! Now ready for the other arm?"
"Sure," Shouta sighed, lifting his left hand so Hizashi could get it through the loop. It really was hard to say no to his friend when he was so eager. Hizashi gripped the sleeve's buckle this time, carefully slipping it through the central loop before gently tugging his arm through. It slid in slowly, his other arm pressing closer to his abdomen as the space in the loop grew tighter.
Shouta swallowed at this point, staring down at the central loop. His arms fit into it snugly, the left one shifting to rest just slightly to the bottom of the first rather than directly overlap. Not for the first time he felt a twinge of uncertainty about this whole venture, his discomfort reaching new levels as he flexed his muscles to test the slack.
"Too late to back out?" he drawled, trying to sound nonchalant as he felt a growing wave of anxiety. Calm down, this is Hizashi. He won't hurt you.
"Yep!" Hizashi proclaimed cheerfully, grinning at Shouta mischievously. His green eyes twinkled, making Shouta's unease fade away as his face flushed again. "Don't worry Shou, we're almost done!"
"Right," Shouta breathed, turning his face away while lifting his right arm a bit to expose the vertical loop. The blond seemed eager at this point, because before Shouta could fully lift his wrist he'd slipped the strap through and gave a hard yank, jerking his entire arm through. He startled at the sudden motion, turning to Hizashi with wide eyes. "Hizashi?"
"Man, we're getting to the good part now," Hizashi murmured, an almost manic grin on his face as he circled Shouta. He turned his head to follow the blond's every step, watching with an increasingly erratic heartbeat as he stopped behind him. Grabbing the strap of the first sleeve, he fed it through the buckle of the second and pulled. Just like that Shouta's arms pressed tighter against his body, almost too tight. He grit his teeth as he winced, suppressing a small gasp.
Hizashi leaned to the side slightly, allowing their eyes to meet. "Sorry, is it too tight? I want to make this as tricky to escape as possible, but I can loosen it a bit if it's uncomfortable."
"Please," Shouta murmured with a nod, and Hizashi hummed as he obligingly loosened it to just a regular level of snug. As he did Shouta forced himself to relax, but it proved harder than expected as his agitation just seemed to continue rising. He felt highly vulnerable now, unconsciously squirming a bit.
Don't think too hard on it, he scolded himself. It will all be worth it when he's done. You're doing it for Hizashi.
That was his sole motivation in putting up with this hellish ordeal, the mere thought anchoring him. He would always be willing to overlook his own discomfort for Hizashi's sake. After all, he had been in love with the blond since, since—a while, it didn't matter how long. All that mattered was that he made Hizashi happy, whether as his best friend. Sex with Hizashi was always worth it, he just needed to remember the time they—the time... they...
Shouta's eyebrows drew together as he slowly realized be could not recall once having sex with Hizashi.
A chill washed over him, and at the same moment the blond tightened the straps on the sleeves, fastening them in place. "There! Give me a little test tug there."
Shouta didn't need to be told twice, straining against the sleeves. His arms remained firmly crossed over his chest, while his mind strained to remember pieces of his relationship with Hizashi. How did we meet? He couldn't even remember that much, which only made the situation veer more towards terror. Something was very, very wrong here, and Shouta had just lost the use of his arms.
"Looking good!" Hizashi said, flashing him a grin and thumbs up. "Now we just need to get the pelvic straps done—"
"Hizashi, I don't want to do this anymore," Shouta cut in, trying to sound calm and annoyed even as his heart hammered anxiously. His friend—"friend"? Were they friends?—faltered slightly, pouting once more.
"But Shouuutaaa," he whined, and Shouta's heart clenched at the plaintive tone, his chest aching at the thought of upsetting his friend. But he quashed that ache as he focused on the growing sense of wrong, silently counting to three in his head before speaking.
"I'm sorry, but I don't like this. Let me out." He met Hizashi's gaze coolly, ignoring the fluttering in his stomach at the disappointed pout the other male wore. He could see Hizashi's eyes searching him, scanning his tense form for something only he knew.
"...Shit," he finally breathed, his pout giving way to a frown. "You figured it out, didn't you."
Alarm bells blared in Shouta's mind and he twisted his body in a roundhouse kick, aiming right for the blond's side. Hizashi fell with a startled and pained gasp and Shouta took off, not waiting for him to get up. His heart pounded as he raced towards the open door, looking at his surroundings with a newfound sharpness. How had he not cared when the blond led him to an abandoned building? How had it not struck him as odd that the blond had already hidden the jacket there instead of his own apartment?
He pulled at the sleeves as he slid into the hall and ran, desperation rising. The jacket was done tight enough it caught his breath, his arms pressing against his abdomen almost painfully. It's too tight, he thought with rising panic. If my arms were just a little looser, or I had more room to work—
The realization almost made him stop cold in his tracks, nearly stumbling over his feet before he kept running. His hero costume. Hizashi hadn't insisted he keep it on as a kink, he intentionally made sure Shouta still wore it so the thick, baggy fabric would make the jacket that much snugger and hard to maneuver his body.
Shit, he thought just as he heard an all-too familiar voice call out behind him. "Eraser, baby, come back!" Hizashi yelled from the distance, sinister laughter audible in his tone and sending shivers down his spine. "We're not done yet, babe!"
Fuck this. Shouta ducked into a nearby room, pressing against the wall by the door to avoid being seen as he quickly looked around. Leverage, he needed leverage, something he could rub against to try to pull off the jacket. The straps meant to cross between his legs hadn't been done yet and neither had the collar. If he could just get good enough friction, he might be able to lift it over his head like a sweater. Fortunately for him the building, while abandoned, did not necessarily qualify as derelict and this room still had a few pieces of furniture.
His eyes settled on a low coffee table and he bolted towards it. Each step caused more noise than he wanted as the loose straps bounced against his legs, the collar flopping uncomfortably against his throat. He dropped next to the table with a grimace, pressing his back against the edge to begin rubbing against the straps and buckles. Come on, come on...! He hissed quietly as the motion pulled on the canvas and made it feel even tighter.
"Eraser," Hizashi sang. "Come out, come out wherever you are..." Shouta's blood chilled at how close the voice was, and he renewed his efforts with desperate vigor. Right now he still had no idea who Hizashi was, his mind too frayed to make any meaningful connections, but he at least knew the man couldn't be good.
How did I even get into this mess? he thought frantically as he worked. Those memories were a little clearer than his not-friend. His patrol had been largely uneventful tonight, just a few muggers and a couple small-time thugs who got in a drunken brawl, not even worth calling the police. The most significant event he recalled before encountering Hizashi had been a strange woman who randomly grabbed his wrist and offered to read his palm.
It hadn't been the weirdest thing to happen to him on a patrol. Shouta patrolled more derelict areas on the lower end of the poverty scale, where a lot people tended to be... interesting. The woman asking to read his palm stood out though. He remembered her tracing a heart in his palm, staring into his eyes the entire time. "You will find yourself the star of an adventure tonight," she told him. "A fantasy unlike any other. Do not be afraid or ask questions. Just look into those green eyes, and trust the one you've known and loved your entire life."
Green eyes. He swallowed as he recalled Hizashi's eyes, a bright vivid green with rings around the pupils. The wording was too specific to be a coincidence. She must have used a Quirk on me, he realized with growing horror. Implanted a suggestion into his head, making him obedient and pliant to Hizashi's demands to put him in the damn jacket.
No sooner had the thought crossed his mind than a shadow suddenly loomed over him, and he snapped his head upwards just in time to see those very green eyes peering down at him accompanied by a devilish smirk.
"Found you," Hizashi said, and then grabbed Shouta's hair and rammed his head against the table.
Shouta screamed at the harsh impact, stars dancing across his vision. Seconds later he screamed yet again as an ear-splitting shriek rang through the air, not high enough to make the room shake or burst his eardrums, but harsh and close enough to send him crashing onto his side. His ears rang as his head hit and bounced off the floor, making him grit his teeth while his senses were briefly overcome by static. Over the dull ringing in his head he felt his legs being nudged apart, straps slipping between his thighs and pulling tight towards his back.
"No!" he gasped, returning to awareness as he realized what was going on. He kicked out blindly, vision still swirling too much to see, but his leg got stomped to the ground by a heavy boot making him cry out in pain. The straps between his thighs tightened once more and stayed tight, making it clear they had been buckled into place. Panic washed over him as his vision finally cleared to reveal a grinning Hizashi, his teeth bared in a mockery of a smile and his eyes glittering with dark amusement.
"Now, now, Eraser, kicking people isn't nice," he chided playfully as he reached out for Shouta's face. The hero flinched and tried to pull away, but his back pressed against the coffee table and cut off any escape. He could only shudder as Hizashi's fingers stroked the side of his head, the intimate touch sending unpleasant tingles down his spine. He tucked some hair away from Shouta's ears, leaning close to peer at them as if to check for damage. "To be fair though, I did hurt your ears a bit, so I guess we're even now."
"What do you want, Mic?" Shouta demanded hoarsely, and even as he spoke it suddenly clicked. Present Mic. The notorious Voice Villain, and one of Shouta's few recurring foes. His Erasure made him one of the few heroes properly equipped to fight the blond, able to silence his debilitating screams before they could be used to hurt someone or destroy buildings. Not that it made capturing him any easier.
The realization made his stomach sink with a sickening sense of horror, and Mic's already cruel smile turned cold. "I see you remember now," he commented darkly. "Have to say, I'm surprised it took this long. I thought you would've figured it out in a heartbeat, given how serious and stodgy you are. But man, it was fun seeing you all flustered!"
He laughed even as Shouta shrank back, keenly aware of how bad this situation was. He was trapped in a straitjacket with one of the few villains he could honestly consider a nemesis, and no one knew where he was. Usually he carried a transmitter on him but last night it had been bricked by a random thug with an EMP bomb-like Quirk, and he hadn't been able to get a replacement yet. Was that part of the plan too?
"Don't worry, Eraser, I'm not gonna hurt you," Mic assured. "We just need to get you out of the picture for a while, and I figured this would be more fun than killing you." His accompanying smirk made Shouta shudder, wincing as the villain gripped his shoulders to push him onto his stomach. "Well anyways, we're almost done! Just a couple last pieces."
Even as he spoke Shouta felt his left wrist get pulled slightly away from his side, something thick slipping through the gap and wrapping around his wrist. Leather? "Handcuffs?" he sputtered, twisting his neck to try to look with even more dread.
"Like I said, you're pretty graceful and flexible," Mic said with a smirk, tightening the leather cuff before releasing Shouta's wrist. It was bulky, holding his arm about half an inch away from his side, and Mic grabbed his other wrist to cuff it too as he explained, "This is to make sure you can't just slide your arms through the loops even if you somehow get the buckle loose. No way you can fit these babies through there!"
He tightened the other cuff and patted Shouta's back with a laugh, while the hero grimaced with a horrified shudder. Mic had clearly thought this out, he wasn't taking any chances of Shouta escaping. "Okay, one last piece!" the blond declared, grabbing his shoulders to pull him upright. As Shouta shifted onto his knees the straps between his legs pulled uncomfortably tight, making him wince.
"Just let me go," he grit out, trying not to let his desperation show. "You'll get in a lot of trouble for this, more than anything else you've done." The blond just clicked his tongue and wagged a finger at him scoldingly.
"Now, now, Eraser, I made sure to get all this special for you! You don't want to waste my gift, do you?" He cracked a smile as Shouta glared at him, chuckling and shrugging dramatically. "That's what I thought. And now, for the pièce de résistance!"
He laughed as he switched to a foreign tongue, amused by some joke that flew over Shouta's head as he reached into his pocket. When he withdrew his hand Shouta's heart stopped though, only able to stare in horror at the object he produced:
A collar.
There was no mistaking the brown leather band he held, but its build was different from the pet collars he usually saw. The ends had metal rings attached, no belt or buckle mechanism visible to suggest how it closed. A metal tag hung from one ring, jingling as Mic lifted it for Shouta to see, his eyes catching the small lettering engraved on it.
'Aizawa Shouta,' read the engraving. 'If found, return to Present Mic.'
And at that moment, possibly the most horrifying realization of all struck him, hitting him like a gut punch. "You know my name," he whispered, his eyes slowly widening. Only now did he realize Mic had used his real name the entire time he'd been put in the jacket, casually calling him Shouta and Shou—and he in turn had called the villain by another name he should not know, Hizashi.
"We met outside of work before today," Mic said, sensing Shouta's thoughts. "A couple weeks ago I went to a bar and saw you alone in a corner, just avoiding the crowd. I'm not surprised you don't remember, I look pretty different out of costume. But you, on the other hand—you don't look that different at all." He grinned, sharp and dangerous as he leaned forward. "Just a couple minutes of conversation, a little bit of flirting that went no where. You didn't flirt back, but I at least got your name and the groundwork was set."
Shouta just stared in horror, distantly recognizing the night Mic spoke of. It wasn't every night he let Nemuri drag him to a bar, and even more rare for someone to approach him. He distinctly recalled a bubbly blond wandering over to him a bit after Nemuri abandoned him to go dance, long hair pulled into a bun and ringed green eyes sparkling behind clear glasses.
He looked so different from his villain persona, so much looser without his hair gelled up and his body covered in leather, but now that Shouta looked at him closely he could see the similarities. That neatly trimmed moustache, and the exaggerated downturn to his eyebrows to give him a perpetually expressive face that fluctuated between smug and humble.
How Shouta had failed to notice the similarities back then was beyond him, but then, Present Mic was very different from Hizashi, much flashier and eye-catching with that costume and the directional speaker around his neck. That was the reason Present Mic dressed that way, he realized, to keep people from recognizing him in his day to day life.
And the fact that Shouta could now recognize the man outside of his costume bode ill for his chances of being released peacefully.
"Do you know what makes this jacket special?" Mic asked casually, leaning forward. He tapped the high neck with his index finger, hooking it through a fabric loop on the side and pulling it so it just barely entered Shouta's line of vision. "This collar has a bunch of little loops, just like a belt. The second I saw those, I knew what I needed."
He slipped one end of the collar through the loop as he spoke, his hand winding around Shouta's neck to continue feeding it through the loops. The hero sat paralyzed, holding his breath as he felt the canvas press closer to his neck. The end with the tag moved ever closer until the other end pulled through the final loop, the two rings resting beside each other just in front of Shouta's throat. The villain released his hold on the collar as he leaned back so their eyes met, the slightest smirk visible on his lips.
"And you know what makes this collar special?" he breathed, reaching into his pocket once more. This time he pulled out a small padlock, making Shouta's stomach drop. No. "There's only one way to close it."
"Get away from me!" Shouta roared, snapping out of his horrified stupor to thrust his head forward. His forehead collided with Mic's nose, eliciting a pained yell as he reeled back, and Shouta quickly threw his body onto the villain to knock him back further before rolling away. The straps between his legs protested the movement, pulling tighter as he scrambled to his feet, but he ignored it and took off towards the door. He was desperate now, something about the collar and padlock just felt too final. Shouta already knew he couldn't escape the jacket on his own anymore, he needed to run and find help.
He barely got five steps before he was tackled from behind though, crashing to the ground with a pained shout. His chin hit the floor hard, the taste of blood briefly filling his mouth as his teeth clacked together, and his head ached as if his brain has been physically jostled by the motion. As he lay there in pain he was roughly rolled onto his back, his eyes opening to find Mic hovering over him.
The villain looked awful, one lens in his glasses cracked and a thin trail of red dripping down from his nose. Yet despite that his green eyes held no fury as his mouth stretched into a grin, feral and full of teeth. "You," he said, lightly tapping Shouta's nose, "are a very naughty boy. I'm going to have to get new glasses now, those are expensive you know! But that's okay."
As he spoke he rose off Shouta slightly, his hand snaking under Shouta's chin. He felt the fabric of the high neckline shift and pull slightly tighter, and then there was a click and his heart dropped. Without looking he could picture the padlock dangling before his throat, each ring hooked around the small bar. His throat felt uncomfortably tight, his mouth going dry.
"There we go," Mic said softly, lightly tapping the lock so it jingled against the tag. "Now you're all dressed up, nice and snug."
Shouta could only stare up at him, a creeping numbness washing over him. With the padlock in place the situation really did feel final, his sheer vulnerability hitting him harder than ever before. He felt the fight drain from him, replaced by an overwhelming tiredness. Suddenly he could feel every ache clearly, every bruise and cut accumulated over the course of his patrol that night amplified. His head fell onto the concrete floor as his eyes slid shut, his whole body going limp beneath the villain.
He didn't struggle as Mic got off him, hefting him to his feet. "Alright, time to go," the blond said cheerily, and gripped Shouta's arm. "Come on, we need to make one more stop before we head out!" He dragged the hero out of the room, the bound man following in sullen silence and his head bowed. Eventually they stopped in the room they started in and Mic released his grip, heading to a table where he'd left his bag. Shouta raised his head blearily only for his eyes to widen at what he saw the blond pull out of it.
"No," he said, stepping back.
"Don't bother saying no," Mic taunted with a smirk, holding up a long strip of cloth. "I can't have you seeing where we're going or trying to call for help before we get there. Isn't this better than being knocked unconscious?" He took a step forward and Shouta backed up before spinning to flee one last time. This time he made it one step when the other man grabbed his shoulder to jerk him to a stop, the contact making him gasp on reflex. That turned out to be a mistake as the fabric to slid between his teeth, and the villain pulled it tight and knotted it. He twisted his head to try to glare at the man, but the motion was hampered by the collar around his throat.
"There, much better!" Mic proclaimed, grinning as he spun Shouta to face him. He smirked, looking the hero up and down. "Wow. I knew you were hot, but this is pretty amazing. I think I have a new kink."
Shouta released a muffled sound of outrage, but the noise cut off when the villain shoved him down. He fell on his rear with a grunt, and within seconds the villain was crouched next to him, dragging a pair of leather cuffs with metal rings out of the bag. Shouta tried to kick but it was futile, Mic easily catching his legs and jerking off his boots before buckling the cuffs around each ankle so the rings touched.
He produced another small padlock and slid the loop through each ring before shutting it, keeping Shouta's ankles pressed firmly together. Mic released his hold and backed away, letting out a low whistle as he watched the hero writhe on the ground in a vain attempt to free himself.
"...Yeah, this is definitely hotter than I expected," he muttered to himself, and Shouta shot upward with a furious snarl. He quickly shrank back when the villain reached into the bag to produce one final item though, a plush black sleeping mask. "Okay Eraser, last piece, I promise!"
Shouta could only inch back as the villain crouched before him with the mask, trying to jerk his head away as it slid over his hair. Tears pricked the corners of his eyes as he felt it pull downwards, black encroaching on his vision from above. The last thing he saw was Mic's sick, twisted grin, and then the darkness consumed him. He went perfectly rigid then, his breath catching.
In that moment, Shouta felt completely and totally defenseless. He was hyper-aware of the canvas encasing his entire torso, his arms pressing against his stomach uncomfortably close and the collar fitted around his neck like a noose. His breaths came out short and shuddery through his nose, feeling the villain lean closer to him and his breath brush his ear.
"Alright Eraser, time to go." With those soft words he hefted the hero up and shifted him over his shoulder, making the jacket's tightness all that much more noticeable. He stood and walked away, Shouta only able to float in a void as he listened to the soft jingle of the tag and lock on his collar.
His eyes squeezed shut behind the blindfold and he let himself cry, recognizing he had lost any hope of escaping on his own strength. Please, someone find me soon.
Deep down though, he already knew he wouldn't be getting out of this anytime soon.
