Work Text:

Midoriya stared at Shigaraki in surprise. “You got dressed up.” He pointed out, still in shock at the sight of his normally disheveled boyfriend cleaned up and wearing a suit. Shigaraki shifted awkwardly in front of Midoriya, resisting the urge to decay his suit and put back on his regular clothes. But Kurogiri had suggested that he wear something nice for his date with Midoriya today. Afterall it was their one-month anniversary.

“Do you not like it?” Shigaraki asked, fiddling with one of the gloves of his hands. They were specially designed gloves that help to stop his quirk from decaying everything by covering his thumb and forefinger with cloth. Midoriya stepped forward, placing his hands over Shigaraki’s to stop his fiddling.

“I love it Tomura. You look so handsome.” He grinned, leaning up to kiss his boyfriend gently. Shigaraki relaxed the moment their lips touched, knowing that Midoriya wouldn’t lie to him like that. “I suppose I should change too.” Midoriya said, squeezing Shigaraki’s hand before turning to his closet. The villain politely turned around, allowing for Midoriya to change from his causal clothes into a suit himself without being ogled. Despite many heavy make-out sessions they haven’t done much without any clothes on.

Shigaraki went back to fidgeting with his gloves as he stared at the door to Midoriya’s dorm. It was always a risk being here for long periods of time and talking with Midoriya. There was always a chance that someone would be outside listening or perhaps might overhear the two of the talking. “Kurogiri picked a nice restaurant for us to go to. There shouldn’t be anyone there that will recognize us.”

“Sounds good. You can turn around now.” Midoriya told him, fiddling with his tie to make sure it looked good. Shigaraki turned and repressed a rather inappropriate sound as he looked at his boyfriend. He looked so good in a suit, although part of him took note that it might be getting a bit tight on him due to his muscles.

“You look amazing.” Midoriya blushed and gave Shigaraki a playful shove. “Ready?” Shigaraki asked, snagging the arm that Midoriya shoved him with to pull him in close. This got him an almost shy nod as Midoriya smoothed out Shigaraki’s own tie as an excuse to touch his boyfriend’s chest. Shigaraki pulled out a cellphone and sent Kurogiri a quick text. A minute later a portal appeared not too far from them.

“Our ride is here.” Midoriya smiled, taking Shigaraki’s hand and pulling him through the portal. Both men looked around once they had stepped out of the portal. Kurogiri had placed them in an alleyway in a rather nicer part of some town. A ding from Shigaraki’s phone alerted the villain to a new text that he quick skimmed.

“Kurogiri said that the restaurant should just be a couple of doors down. I’ve got the name.” He slid the phone back into his pocket after silencing it. “Come on.” Shigaraki took Midoriya’s hand and they made their way to the restaurant. Kurogiri had chosen a nice quite restaurant that seemed to have some high standards for dress. This having been made obvious to both men when the maître D gave them an approving look at their attire.

“Good evening gentlemen, did you have a reservation?” the man asked, looking between the two of them.

“It should be under Shigaraki.” Shigaraki stated, rubbing his thumb over the back of Midoriya’s hand as the maître D looked them up.

“Ah yes here you are. If you’ll follow me.” He stepped around the podium that he had been standing behind and led the two men deeper into the restaurant. It was a nice dimly lit building that was decorated to give a nice warm, high class feeling to those eating there. Shigaraki and Midoriya were led to a small table that was in the corner, giving them a nice intimate feel while still being in a restaurant. Both men took their seats as the maître D explained that their waiter would be with them shortly. Midoriya thanked the man as Shigaraki had already begun to pursue the rather interesting menu.

“This place is so nice.” Midoriya commented, taking one last look around at some of the other couples that were nearby. It comforted Midoriya to know that they were somewhere that neither of them would be recognized and could relax.

“Yes, oh look at the menu. They’ve got some of your favorite dishes.” Shigaraki pointed out, lifting his menu a bit to sort of show Midoriya where to look. Midoriya looked at his own menu and was very pleasantly surprised to see many of the dishes that he did enjoy. He looked up to smile at Shigaraki, noticing that the man looked rather bashful as he glanced at Midoriya. “I wanted to make sure that you had options.” Shigaraki mumbled, staring down at his menu intensely.

Midoriya reached out and took Shigaraki’s hand, intwining their fingers and smiling. “It’s all wonderful. Thank you Tomura.” Shigaraki stared at Midoriya slightly in shock before squeezing his hand. They went back to their menus and not long after a waiter did come and take their orders and only returning briefly to give them their drinks. They talked about different various things, from Midoriya’s schoolwork and random stories that Shigaraki had about the other villains. It was an unspoken rule between the two of them that they wouldn’t talk about any villain or hero plans. When Midoriya talked about school, it was on the different subjects or occasionally about his training but never anyone else’s progress.

Their food arrived and they dug in, enjoying every bite. “Remind me to thank Kurogiri when I get back. This place was a good decision.” Shigaraki commented after he had finished off his food. Midoriya was still eating but nodded his head in agreement. Shigaraki stretched out one of his legs and hooked it around Midoriya’s. This got a muffled chuckle out of his boyfriend as he rubbed his shoe up his leg.

“We should go on more dates like this. Maybe not as fancy but out of town. Away from people that might recognize us. To just be us.” Midoriya suggested, pushing his empty plate away and reaching out to once again intertwine their hands together.

“That sounds wonderful. We’ll have to do that.” Shigaraki agreed, taking the bill from the waiter once they brought it. “Let’s get out of here and walk for a little bit.” Shigaraki suggested, placing money on the table before standing. Midoriya followed after Shigaraki, taking his hand again once they were outside.

They wandered down the street for some time, enjoying the night air and each other’s company. After a little while they had found a little park to walk through. Shigaraki stopped Midoriya near a small pond with several lights illuminating the area and pulled the shorter man into a gentle kiss. His arms wrapped securely around Midoriya’s waist while Midoriya had his own around Shigaraki’s neck. “Happy one-month anniversary.” Shigaraki whispered against his boyfriend’s lips.

“Happy anniversary.” Midoriya smiled up at him, dragging him down into a more passionate kiss. They stood there for a bit, kissing, and clinging to each other. “I’m sorry Tomura but I should probably be getting back soon.” Midoriya reluctantly pulled away from Shigaraki, which caused the other man to pout a little.

“I suppose. Oh, but first.” Shigaraki reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box and held it out to Midoriya. The hero in training looked at the gift suspiciously as he took the offered box.

“What is it?” He asked, not opening it yet but examining it closely. It looked like a jewelry box but there was something moving around in it, which brought some relief to Midoriya. Shigaraki laughed a little at Midoriya’s expression.

“No, I’m not asking you to marry me.” Yet was added mentally as he laid a reassuring hand on Midoriya’s hip. “It’s something to remember me by when we’re apart.” This got Midoriya more excited as he finally opened the box.

Inside of the box was a heavy chain necklace with a pendant that was engraved with a little game controller in the middle and their initials intwined underneath. “Tomura this is…” He stared at it, stroking it gently with a finger.

“Ah, it’s dumb. I’m sorry, I just wanted to give you something to show you that I really do like you.” Shigaraki shifted awkwardly, rubbing his thumb over Midoriya’s hip. “I can take it- “

“Don’t you dare!” Midoriya held the box possessively against his chest, glaring at Shigaraki. “I love it Tomura.” He chuckled, looking back down at the necklace. “I’ll always treasure this.” He leaned up and kissed him again. When he pulled back, he took the necklace out of the box and held it up to Shigaraki. “Help me put it on?”

Shigaraki smiled, taking the necklace, and unclasping it. “Of course, Izuku, anything for you.” Midoriya turned around and let Shigaraki clasp the necklace back together, feeling his boyfriend place a kiss against the back of his neck. Midoriya’s face felt like it was on fire as he blushed. His heart pounding at the intimacy of the moment. He leaned back against Shigaraki as he slid his arms around his waist. “We need to get you back.” The villain muttered against neck, placing another soft kiss on Midoriya’s neck.

“Yeah. We should, let’s go.” Midoriya slid his hand over the arms wrapped around before stepping out of the embrace. Shigaraki followed after Midoriya, catching up to him quickly and taking his hand again. They walked back to the alley that Kurogiri had dropped them off at. As they were walking back, they talked about the next time that they would get to meet up again and deciding what they would end up doing. Shigaraki expressed that Toga and Dabi were requesting a game night which they had all done once before. Midoriya could only laugh and agree, requesting that either Kurogiri or Dabi make dinner and not let Toga near the kitchen again.

Once they were back at the alley Shigaraki sent Kurogiri another text and a portal appeared. Just like before they stepped through and this time found themselves in Midoriya’s room once more. “Thank you for such a wonderful date Tomura.”

“My pleasure my little Izuku.” Shigaraki said this as he pulled Midoriya tightly against his body, dipping his head down to place a kiss on the hero in training’s lips. Midoriya’s face was flush and he playfully shoved at his boyfriend. “Hehe, I’m calling you that from now on if I keep getting that kind of reaction.” He teased, sneaking another kiss before Midoriya could protest.

“Good night Tomura. I’ll text you later.” Midoriya promised, slowly sliding his hands off his boyfriend while watching him send one last text to Kurogiri.

“Till next week.” They waved at each other as Shigaraki stepped through the portal. Midoriya sighed, sitting down on his bed. Unconsciously, Midoriya found himself playing with his new necklace and smiling.

“Jerk, now I have to get him something.” He laughed to himself softly, flopping back on his bed and began to brainstorm what he was going to get his villain boyfriend.

Notes:

I couldn't get the image of the boys going out to dinner in fancy suits out of my head. So you all get tortured with a cute little dinner date. Because why not? Thanks for reading! Might do some more of these if you all keep enjoying them.
