Chapter Text
The sunlight was leaking through the blinds, bathing Touya’s naked form in
virescent hues as he laid pliant and prone beneath Keigo’s form. Marks, which were beginning to flush and darken as time ticked by, were looking especially pretty in the honey glow of the early afternoon light. Hunger burned like a branding iron in the pit of Keigo’s stomach as his eyes slowly drank in the sight below him. Skin like snow, eyes like ice, and hair like clouds...Touya was a walking winter wonderland. And yet, his body was like sinking into a hot tub for the first time. So hot, so welcoming, and so needed. After a long, drawn out night of gliding through the air saving nameless and faceless people, slipping into
warm
, irresistible heat was the only way he wished to unwind now. “Look at you..” Keigo spoke in a low, gravelly tone as the tip of the blackened talon traced the curve of Touya’s waist. A soft purpling was already sprouting across the skin, perfectly aligning with the shape of Keigo’s hands. “You’re such a pretty thing, aren’t you?” He’s leaning forward, invading the space of the other, and he could smell the ever lingering scent of smoke, cider, and something that whispered
Touya.
“Go on...Tell me that you’re the prettiest thing in the world, firefly.” Instead of getting what he desired, a trembling fist slammed against his shoulder, but it was weak. It was adorable...However, what Touya lacked in physical strength, he more than made up for it in fiery spirit.
“God, you’re so annoying. All you do is flap your beak and your wings. They should have named you after a parakeet instead of a hawk.” He sneers, but Keigo was quick to recognize that there wasn't a drop of venom leaking from those heated words. He acknowledged that it wasn’t true anger that was bleeding through, but instead, embarrassment. It was cute. Touya was so
cute.
Unfortunately, if he wished to save his precious feathers from a fiery demise, he knew better than to ever utter those words where the
reciprocate
of his affection could hear it. The very thought of smoke twisting and mingling together with his wings caused the appendages to flex and spread nervously. Can you imagine...Getting your wings burnt off?
However, it seemed like that little display didn’t go unnoticed by the male beneath him, whose eyes went wide like the moon. Hands, long and slender, reached upwards, but stopped just short of a breath away from vermillion feathers. Pale pink lips were tucked into his mouth, and pleading oceanic blue eyes met piercing honeysuckle. It was such an endearing spectacle, no matter how much Touya wished to touch his wings...He never did so without permission. No matter how out of his body he may be, he always
asked
. It caused Keigo’s heart to sing a melody it only sang for Touya. “Can…” A blush as soft as a peach ( and as sweet as
Touya
himself) stained the high of his pretty little round cheeks. “Can I touch them?” Despite the question, fingers were already curling away, as if anticipating the rejection, and that wouldn’t do...So Keigo brought his wings to Touya fingers instead.
The smile was subtle, quiet, and so easily missable...It was like a dying star in a sea of blinding lights. No one would notice when it finally was snuffed out, not unless they’re paying attention, and incidentally, Keigo was always doing just that. He didn’t want to miss a single thing when it came to his stunning lover. “Like them?” Keigo asks curiously, tentatively cocking his head to the side as he reframed from shuddering under the diligent caresses. Though, smugness was creeping through the cracks of his face, pulling his lips into a check-mark shaped grin. “You should keep a few, if you want.” As if on cue, one of his covert feathers slotted out from his wings and landed delicately on Touya’s chest. Keigo felt the stutter in Touya’s breath, it made the smirk widen. “If you ever need me, you can just whisper my name into it. I’ll be there before you can even blink. You know, being the fastest hero alive and all.” Cheekily, he flashed a devilish wink down at his lover. Alas, instead of being greeted with burning hot cheeks, or even a scorching glare, he received something much more troublesome. Touya's smiles are always such small and precious things, but those smirks were a completely different story. They spoke of uncontainable wickedness, but they also caused a heat to burn in the low of his stomach.
With deft fingers, Touya plucked the feather from his chest and twisted it between his thumb and index. “For lil ol’ me?” He hums, quiet and sweet. Dangerous and treacherous. “That’s a lot of power you’re placing into my hands, birdy.” His eyes burned as bright as his flames, which were sparsely used, as sad as that was. They were enchanting to watch as they twirled in a fiery dance, twinkling like the ocean reflecting the sun. They could reduce anything to ash, but that sadly seemed to include himself. “What if I said I needed you right now, what would you do,
Keigo
?” Then, something unexpected happens, and Touya drops his jaw and his pierced tongue flops out onto his lower lip. The tip of Keigo’s feather rested on the saliva slick muscle, before those traitorous lips curled around it. Touya suckled and lavished the plume with his tongue...And Keigo was suddenly manhandling him. His breath was heavy, coming out in delirious pants. And in a flash. instead of resting on his back, Touya was flipped to his knees and elbows. His ass was dragged back to rest against something achingly hard. It rutted against the swell of his cheeks, teasing the still wet rim before the sound of the front door opening caused the two of them to freeze.
For someone known for their speed, and despite being the only one of them to have extensive hero training, it was surprisingly
Touya
who sprang to action first. He squirmed out from under Keigo’s grip and clambered gracelessly to his feet. The poor thing was still recovering from their earlier session. “Fuck...I need you to get your shit and just… get into the closet.” As Touya started shuffling around on wobbly legs, a wince marred that pretty face of his for only a second, but Keigo’s eyes saw it nevertheless. The ever vigilant hero broke from his surprise in favor of climbing shamelessly to his feet, bare to the world, and stood in front of Touya. Tenderly, he tries to reach out and touch his cheek, to give comfort, but his hands were filled with clothing instead of warm flesh. “I’m serious, bird brain.” His tone had taken on a sharpened edge, like that of a posed blade ready for striking, so Keigo wordlessly bundled up the fabric and awkwardly waddled to the closet.
While the door was technically closed, there still was a crack, and Keigo was still only human, so he leaned in close and peered out. He watched as Touya shakily dressed himself, and something unnamed twisted in his guts at seeing his handiwork covered up. Before he could think too heavily on
that
, his thoughts started flying in and out of his head at a speed that impressed even himself. Why was he shoved in the closet? Who has a key to Touya’s apartment? Why is Touya freaking out about this person finding them? Even with how close Keigo has become with his snow angel, was he really some glorified side chick?
Before he could ponder on it for a bit longer, the bedroom door opened and voices filled the room. Once he focused back on the scene spread out before him, Keigo saw Touya lounging back on his bed, a pair of headphones rested around his neck, and a book was laid out on his lap. The bed, however, was still messy from their coupling, and there were probably still parts wet from the drool, tears and...Focus Keigo!
“--Ya, sorry about barging in, I was in the neighborhood and thought I’d stop by! You weren’t answering your phone, so I thought I’d just...See myself in and leave you some Taiyaki from our favorite stand!” The
other male
spoke, his voice was like a low roll of thunder. It filled the room, but it wasn’t intimidating. It was like seeing a flash of lightning illuminating the skyline for the hundredth time, it was merely eye-catching. And for some reason, that made Keigo squint as he shuffled around, trying to catch sight of the intruder. Unfairly, Keigo didn’t even
know
that Touya liked Taiyaki...He wondered what his preferred filling was? His mind supplemented strawberry for some reason, but it wasn’t the same as
knowing
, and before Keigo could further debate with himself, he caught sight of man at last. Infuriatingly, his voice matched his stature perfectly. He was broad shouldered, strong, and towering. His hair was white and his eyes were a deep grey that reminded Keigo of a fading storm. He was
attractive
, and that caused Keigo to tighten his lips up.
It was then that Touya chuckled, and it sounded just like how Keigo pictured the gates of Heaven opening would be like. “Seriously, Natsuo? You didn’t have to do that, but thanks, I guess. What are you even doing down here? Aren’t you supposed to be living it up in college? Y’know, keg stands and shit? Maybe getting a secret tattoo or something? You kids are so boring these days.” Touya said all that with a snicker, as if he wasn’t younger than the man before him. There was no way he wasn’t. Looking at them side by side, Touya still looked like a teenager, despite Keigo and him being pretty close to the same age.
While Touya spoke, the towering mass of muscles now labeled as ‘Natsuo’, approached him and sank down beside him on the bed, his arm came to drape around Touya’s shoulders. The gesture was casual and
familiar.
Natsuo’s smile was almost infectiously bright as he looked upon Touya, it was like squinting through sun beams. “As much as I would love to do all of that, really I would, I’m afraid school work has been keeping me too busy. No one said getting a degree in health and welfare would be easy! Though, I’ve always got time for you. You’re my best bro!” His hand comes up and ruffles the snowy locks of Touya’s head, messing the already sloven strands. With the swiftness of a viper, those hands were quickly batted away and an adorable glare was sent up at this ‘Natsuo’.
“Stop that, you shouldn’t be slackin’ on your shit.” Heavy-lidded eyes narrowed as his brows became scrunched up. It’s not often that Touya scolds people, he’s normally pretty laid back and uncaring, but there were rare instances where even Keigo has been on the receiving end of that disapproving scowl. It was never fun. “Ya gotta get an education so I can then move into your fancy ass house and mooch off of ya.” The corners of his lips were fighting back a smile as his eyes danced with devilry, they always sparkled an almost sickenly blue, and Keigo always found himself willing to drown in those watery depths when they got like that.
Then, with a grin still shining with the brightness of the sun, Natsuo held his hands up gleefully. “I hear you! I do! I promise I’ll get you an entire wing, just for yourself!” Just as it seemed like Natsuo was about to stand up and leave, there was a pause, and then a shiver travelled up Keigo’s spine, nearly causing a full body convulsion. “Wait a minute, wh...what’s this…?” Betwixt Natsuo’s finger was...
His
feather. “Why do you have a feather on your bed, Touya? Why is it wet? Oh...Oh my god!” The feather was dropped in an instant. “I touched your sex feather, didn’t I? Oh my god! DUDE!” Touya was floundering, his entire body was emulating a pleasant pink hue, and sparks of blue were starting to flare up from his fingertips. Words were being sputtered out, but the stutter that possessed him wouldn’t loosen its hold, it only put more weight on his tongue so it was troublesome to make out what the explanation even was.
However, the moment Natsuo seemed to have noticed the blue, he just grew
relaxed
. His hands came to rest on Touya’s shoulders, ever so sweet and caring it seemed, and his voice dipped into a tone that was softer than any material this world could ever think to produce. “Hey...It’s okay. It’s alright. You need to breathe, big bro. If you’re not careful, you’re gonna trigger your alarms.” At first, Keigo thought he meant the smoke alarms, but then he caught sight of Natsuo tapping on the watch on Touya’s wrist. Or at least, he
thought
it was a watch. The device lit up, and if Keigo squinted hard enough, he could make out few numbers. It looked like...A temperature? Touya’s body temperature..?
Before Keigo could even get a better view of it, Touya had jerked his wrist back from Natsuo’s grip, cradling his arm close to his chest and started curling inwardly, almost fearfully. “Don’t go grabbin’ me when I’m doin’ that…'' Touya chided, a glower pulling his face taut with anger. “Ya should know better...” His voice broke into a half-hearted growl before averting his gaze. Quickly then, those viridian eyes softened. “I could have burned you, Natsu.” And like a candle on a stormy night, the burning flame inside Touya flickered out. His voice held no steadiness, none of its normal ferocity, it only contained something Keigo could only pinpoint as
fear
. It was like a stab to the heart, deep and unforgiving. The desire to spring from this closet and shield the world from this rare moment of vulnerability his boyfriend was expressing was maddening. As a replacement for that, he allowed for his feather to stroke over Touya’s thigh, being as discreet as possible, and allowed for it to be a small reminder that he wasn’t alone in this, that Keigo was right there...Like he always was. A single breath of his name against the vane and he’d be right by Touya’s side in a heartbeat.
After that, the two of them had sat in mutual silence for a moment. Both just absorbing what was spoken, and what was left unspoken. In the end, the two of them continued their conversation. Utterly unperplexed after the initial awkwardly disappeared like morning dew. After a while, Keigo ended up focusing his time and energy into trying to dress without knocking his wings and limbs into the miscellaneous things buried within Touya’s closet. It seemed his timing was beyond impeccable, for right as he straightened his pants, his red-faced boyfriend pried open the closet door. He looked
at him apprehensively, timidly almost, which was a rare sighting. One that normally would excite Keigo, but now only made his stomach drop like a stone in a pond. “Hey darling…” He moves in slowly, taking his time in approaching his lover like he was a skittish animal, he only stops when he has his arms wrapped around Touya’s thin waist. His wings instantly spread and curled around the both of them like it was their own personal crimson shield. Selfishly, Keigo adores it when the world around them is shunned out and how the sunlight of the room is forced to be filtered through
his
scarlet feathers. Most of all, however, he loves the way Touya melts into his grip. It was like his wings pulled all the tension out from his body. Touya felt safe with him, and that was a gift in itself.
Keigo wasn’t sure how long the two of them stayed like this, not that it mattered, he’d stay as still as a statue for however long Touya wished. Though, when he felt Touya shift, his wings unfurled and the blindly bright world came back into focus. “I’m sorry about that.” Touya spoke in such a small, demure way. It was so unlike him, but Keigo knew the reason for that. His boyfriend has always struggled with being perceived as weak. Apparently, it was a word his father had thrown about carelessly when dealing with him. Clearly, Touya’s father was blind, for there was no stronger person in this world than Touya. He’s overcome so much, and yet he can still smile and laugh. Keigo may be a hero, but his darling boy was far more deserving of that title. In his heart, Keigo had two heroes; Touya and Endeavor. The thought alone made him smile as he looked at Touya, and gave a small shake of his head.
“There’s nothing to apologize for...Now come on, I heard you’ve got some Taiyaki to spare!” And just like that, the meekness faded and was replaced with unholy fire again. His boyfriend, whose tongue was like a loaded gun, was cocked and ready to fire again. He playfully pushed Keigo back and snickered. In the end, the two of them shared the sweets together, and the towering boy from before was forgotten, a distant memory in the past, and what would you know? It was strawberry filled...
