Work Text:
The lights of Kamurocho illuminate the night sky way too brightly, and, underneath them, sits Kiryu Kazuma on a bench at public park 3. He approximates it must be past two a.m., though he is too busy with his thoughts to look down at his phone. He soon gets up intending to maybe find somewhere to sleep, preferably with a warm body beside him.
After crossing ways with some random punks and beating them with little to no effort, he realises he's been kind of hungry since a couple of hours ago. He has never really been used to taking care of himself, and it shows in his unhealthy habits. Not wanting or knowing how to cook he decides to get to the cheapest fast food restaurant around, so he lands at a small McDonald's which seems completely barren from the outside. As he looks at the menu, he hears the toilet door open and shut, along with light and elegant footsteps, which stop right beside him.
"Kiryu-chan!"
He hears an enthusiastic voice half-shout. He knows who it is without having to look back, and he instinctively answers "I'm not going to fight you, Majima.". There is a half-second of silence before he hears the answer "Come on! Who says I want to fight, I just want to have dinner with my good old friend." which doesn't sound very convincing, and yet Kiryu accepts, he's too tired to even argue at this point. But he still seems to have a problem even after welcoming the other man's invitation, he takes so long to order Majima ends up asking "What's wrong?", sounding genuinely concerned. Kiryu cannot bring himself to answer, it's too embarrassing and Majima looks him deep in the eyes until the younger man can't help but slightly move his eyes away. "You want a happy meal? Is that it?" and Kiryu stands in silence, unable to form any words. His silence and slight half-nod are enough for Majima to understand, he is his friend, more than that even; he knows his deepest wants and urges.
Majima goes over to the counter and orders two happy meals, one for each and Kiryu looks at him from behind like he is the most wonderful being that he could have ever met, and, from his point of view, he is. After getting their orders in an inconspicuous bag they head to the hotel district, and Kiryu knows he won't just have a warm body to sleep beside, he'll have someone to look tenderly at when he wakes up.
