He checks his watch, looking at it for a while, its 09.30 AM. It was a long flight combined with delays and other matters. But he is here, “Ah Korea, it’s been a long time”.
Stepping out of the arrival gate, he takes a deep breath and he realizes how much he misses the air, the voices, the road signs, and the advertisements coloring the sky.
He grabs a taxi, gets into it,
“where are you going sir”, the taxi driver asks.
Right, where am I going? He thinks.
“Uhm, Yulje Hospital Seoul please.”
It was Monday, the road was quite packed. But somehow it manages to make him smile as he knows he will always. “Do you need some music? How about radio?” the driver breaks the silence. “Sure, I am surely missing it”.
It is spring and the sky is more than clear, it is blue and the amount of cloud was just perfect. He continues checking on his phone, wondering what will the others think of his arrival, nope it is his return home. He imagines a wide range of scenarios, Songhwa hugging him, Ikjun slapping him, Seokhyeong won’t even care, and Junwan kicking him out telling him to go back. Ah, any kind of response will be great, it will be awesome. He smiles.
The trip takes a longer time than he thinks. It takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes because of multiple traffic jams. He starts to feel worried, but oh well let’s just pretend he is okay.
Arriving at Yulje Hospital, it doesn’t change a lot the only thing he notices are the trees getting thicker. He drags his small luggage, he doesn’t own anything big or fancy or important anyway since entering the seminary.
Assuming it is still lunchtime, he immediately drags himself to Songhwa’s office believing that the gang will be there. Before reaching Songhwa’s office, he stops by Junwan’s office reminiscing the times when he was serving as a doctor here.
“Hmm, so there’s a new doctor, Junwan won’t be lonely then” he mumbles. Han Ji Won, Well he has nice name too, he thinks.
Songhwa’s office is still 20 steps away when he can already hear Junwan and Ikjun bickering.
He takes a deep breath

“Surprise!” he shouts while opening Songhwa’s door.
But there are only silent in the room.
Ikjun jaw drops,
Seokhyeong is confused,
Junwan drops his chopsticks,
Songhwa says “Heol”
“What’s with the faces? Aren’t you guys happy I am home” He said.
Ikjun: Home?
Junwan: You don’t have one
Seokhyeong: Why are you here?
Songhwa: I thought priests don’t have any day-offs.
Junwan: This is not the church. Go away.
He sits down while next to Seokhyeong.
Songhwa: Ya, who told you to sit down Ahn Jeongwon.
Ikjun: He is brother Andrea now.
He inhales some air and starts talking.
“I am back, and I won’t go this time”
Junwan: That’s what you said in early 2020
Ahn Jeongwon gets confused, the gang is mad at him.
