Nightmares
A Fanfiction Inspired by An Animated Series on Tik Tok [Series by Sephtakami]
Seph laughed at Keigo’s joke as the duo sat at the edge of a tall skyscraper. Even though it was his day off, they decided to spend the day out together, compared to the times where they would opt to stay in bed and cuddle.
“ And I said, that’s not a camel, that’s my-- “
A loud explosion caught them both off guard. Their heads turned to where the loud noise came from. The could see the large blue flames, a signature colour for one specific villain--
“ Dabi! “ The both exclaimed as they got up, and they both prepared to race to the scene.
Keigo flew up slightly, and lifted her with him, and flew down the side of the building before straightening out to fly as quickly as possible to the red light district. With their height, they can see the smoke coming from the area.
“ Secure the area, Seph! I’ll hold that fucker off. “ Keigo said, with a heavy frown. Why was the LOV moving already? After the recent attempt to hurt UA, they were pushed back into their hole once again. But- It’s been a week! And Dabi is causing trouble already?
Seph nodded in Keigo’s hold. I mean, what a chamer the boy was. Holding her in a bridal position as they flew together in a race against time. Ah, Modern Love.
After about a 7 minute flight with her lovebird, he dropped her just a few hundred feet from where they could see the villain so she can start with evacuation while Keigo deals with the villain.
Seph and her lovely roller skates managed to get everyone out in the nick of time, before she skated over to join the fight.
Dabi was smirking as usual, standing on some rubble with another man, who looked like he was probably mentally unstable.
“ Oh look, Feathers and Nightmare girl! So lovely for you two to join us today. “ Dabi said with his smug little smirk.
Keigo frowned heavily, and briefly looked at Seph as she stood beside him “ I haven’t figured out the other guys quirk. Be careful, let’s focus on getting Dabi first, he’s the bigger fish. You go for that guy, I’ll deal with this burnt piece of bacon. “
Seph nodded quickly before they both charged to attack. Keigo went straight after Dabi. She could feel the heat coming from his flames he was shooting out towards him.
Seph looked into the unnamed man’s eyes, but he didn’t usually sport the look that most people have. She was certain she could feel her quirk working, until she heard a large crash. She couldn’t look away…
But she had a bad feeling about this .
Who would’ve known how things could take such a turn for the worse.
With Hawks, he continued to fight with Dabi, but it was clear he was starting to struggle as most of his feathers were burnt. Seph had left the other man, and went to assist Keigo. They were a bit close to the taller buildings, but neither made a note of it.
And neither made a note on how the two villains were leading them to a certain area.
The villain reached back and grabbed a switch of some sorts from his pocket. Seph was building up momentum on his right by some larger buildings, while Keigo was going straight at him.
The villain slammed his index finger onto the red button, and a large explosion and wind caught him off guard, making him fly back into a small storefront. His eyes went wide as he saw large pieces of rubble fall from the large building and slam into the ground.
But he didn’t notice the girl trapped underneath all of it. She almost managed to dodge, but with the slight shockwave, it sent her a few feet more to where most of the rubble landed.
A loud scream was heard right after. Keigo’s blood ran cold- He could recognize that voice anywhere he went. With this, the villain managed to slip away into an alleyway, after noticing he probably just killed a pro-hero.
Seph was trapped under some large boulders of rubble. She must’ve hit her head, because a small red streak of blood was trailing down her face.
Her eyes- Her scared and fearful eyes pierced his, and the dread began to settle deep within his bones.
He would’ve screamed too- But he fought against it. He would scare her even more.
He turned to find Dabi, or the other guy, but it seemed they both fled once the explosion let out. Keigo pushed himself up quickly to go assist her.
His wings seem to fail him in this moment, so with a small stumble, he ran towards her. He lost most of his feathers in the fight against the man, so he wouldn’t be able to fly for very long.
“ Seph! Seph- Hey, Sweetheart. You’re ok! You’re going to be ok! “ He called out, fighting back tears. Was she going to be ok? He was shaking as he was trying to pull the rubble off of her.
“ K-k.. Keigo. “ She called out, her one free arm reaching out to him. His shaking intensified.
“ Yes, I’m here sweetheart. Don’t worry- I’ll get ya out! “ He tried to stop his voice from shaking, but he was unable to at the end, when his voice wavered. Tears were mixing with blood on her face as she stared at the man, pitfully trying to lift boulders that were his weight or even more.
“ Keigo.. You gotta call for.. Backup.. You can’t lift this stuff- A-And the building is still unstable- “ She tried to tell him, but he cut her off
“ No! No… I’ll get you out. Like you said! W-We don’t have time.. For backup. “ His voice wavered even more. He was scared- Very scared.
Seph felt like she couldn’t tell him how she was feeling right now. It would… ruin him if she told him…
“ K-Keigo.. I don’t think I’m making it out of here.. “ She said- tears still falling. Her mother always did call her a crybaby.
Keigo slammed his fists on the large piece he was trying to remove “ No! Stop! Y-You’re making it out, god damnit! “ He yelled, which made her flinch from the sudden anger his voice was presenting.
She froze when she felt something wasn’t right. She was suppose to feel her-
“ m-my legs.. Oh my god Keigo.. I-I can’t feel my legs- “ She sobbed out, as Keigo completely froze once again
“ W-What? “ He asked, his voice came out hesitantly.
What do you mean you can’t feel your legs?
He felt like he couldn’t move- Like his limbs were locked up. The tears he’s been fighting back bloomed in his eyes, and he began to try even harder to remove the rubble.
“ No! No… no. oh god.. Why is this happening to us- N-Not you. You can’t die on me yet, songbird. Not yet. “ He cried out as he struggled oh so hard to remove everything from her.
He wishes on everything he has that they would’ve just… stayed home. He wants to be home with her, in bed, with their KFC, watching netflix. He wishes he could take all of her pain away.
He wishes this wasn’t real
“ Keigo.. Baby.. I love you “ She said to him, crying still. Keigo looked at her- This wasn’t a goodbye. No- He was going to save her… right?
“ Songbird- T-Tell me when we get home, ‘kay? “ He gave up on trying to pull the rubble away, and knelt down by her.
He ran a hand over her hair, and smiled at her
“ You’ll be okay, kid. “
But she wasn’t going to be.
A loud explosion rang out again, and everything shook. Whatever was left of Keigo’s wings stood up in urgency. They both looked up quickly
The rest of the building was collapsing, barreling down straight to where they were. There wasn’t much left of the building, but it was even more large chunks of rock. If he didn’t move- He would be crushe-
He was suddenly thrown back, almost flying back by a large invisible force. His eyes widened as he stared right into Seph’s as she stretched her hand out, using the last bits of her energy to save him, one last time
“ I love you! “ She screamed before the rocks slammed into the ground once again, and dust blew everywhere.
“ Sep- “ His voice got cut off from him losing consciousness.
He was thrown into another storefront, but luckily wasn’t hit by the falling rubble. He opened his eyes, and looked up, calling her name.
“ Seph-- “ His heart stopped.
He couldn’t see her anymore. His eyes widened, and he pushed himself up with haste. He collapsed onto one knee at first from the dizziness he felt, but continued to run towards the now larger pile of rubble.
“ Seph! Seph! Baby where are you!? Seph!! “ He screamed, just at the edge of the rubble. She should’ve been rig-

He screamed. Not her name, not out of pain. Out of terror .
He backed away, quickly out of shock, before tripping and falling back. He was on the ground, staring at the pool of crimson growing under the fallen concrete.
Why was the puddle growing? H-How much blood could there be?
He tried to get up, but with one step, he fell to his knees, sobbing. His hand reached up, and grabbed some of his hair, out of stress. He could feel himself trembling.
“ N-No! Oh god no.. Seph! Seph! “ He screamed out, before breaking down once again
He couldn’t breathe. This couldn’t be happening. He squeezed his eyes shut.

No….
NO!
He suddenly gasped for air, and his eyes went wide. He was.. On the ground? There was no fire.. No smoke.. No blood.
“ Keigo! Oh god Keigo are you ok?! “ He heard that lovely voice again. He froze, and pushed himself up quickly.
Seph?
He saw the female skating to him quickly. Compared to before, she was only very minorly hurt, with a few burns and cuts. Dabi and the other man have seemed to have fled.
“ S-Seph ?! “ He called out, and pushed himself up completely before running towards her.
The instant she was close enough, she was engulfed in a very tight hug. He cried softly into his shoulder.
“ I’m so sorry, the guy had a Parry quirk and made my attack go onto you. I didn’t realize until it was too late. “ She said softly, but Keigo continued to hug her tightly, crying still.
“ I thought I lost you… y-you were killed right in front of me and I.. I couldn’t save you! “ He cried to her, still holding her tightly.
Seph was quiet as she hugged him, rubbing his back softly
“ It’s alright, I’m okay Keigo.. It’s okay… “ She cooed quietly.
Keigo was beginning to calm down, and pulled back from the hug to look at her.
“ We’re going home and having KFC. I don’t care what our agency says. “ He said, his voice cracking a bit.
Seph smiled, and just nodded. She knows he’s going to be.. Quite touchy tonight, and probably for a while.
Though, she didn’t mind. Her quirk did cause this, so she would take care of him for as long as he needed.
“ You’ll be okay, Keigo.
