Chapter Text
The bright fluorescent lights would be a steady annoyance to anyone who had eyes. The tightness of the shackles would be a constant itch to those who had nerve endings. Even the smell of chemicals and cleaning supplies would sicken anyone with a nose after weeks of constant assault.
All for One, Shigaraki Kaito, could count his blessings though. He could not see, smell, or feel without the assistant of his quirks, and so his only annoyance was the consistent humming of the quirk suppressant fluid that was constantly injected into his body.
“Are you even listening to me?”
Ah yes. Two annoyances. Ever since his capture, he has had exactly two visitors allowed. The first was poor Yagi, who sounded like he was on his deathbed. Considering his form when Kaito last had his quirks, it very well might not be far off. A year or two at most.
The second, however, was not as easy or fun to manipulate. He first introduced himself as Naomasa Tsukauchi, saying that he would be ‘interrogating’ the All for One user. That was the only amusing thing about him. He was rather persistent and followed orders delightfully. Every once in a while, Kaito had to reward him with a treat. He answered some questions, few and far in between.
Kaito did tend to let his thoughts drift during these visits when not even the young man’s voice would distract him from the humming of the tubes. The only frequently asked question was inquiries about where his attention was, to which Kaito often let out a simple hum. Other than the gifts where he answers unimportant questions, this was the only thing he intoned during these visits.
“Are there quirks that you can’t take?” The young man asks.
Now, this is interesting.
The tone that the officer gave indicated he knew that there were. This was a very clever question. Maybe Kaito should reward him. After all, there’s nothing he could do about it from here.
“I have never been able to take the quirk One for All. Be it from our current All Might, or the seven holders of the quirk before him.”
The sound of whining filled the microphones they used to communicate, and Kaito heard the intake of breath signaling another question. Kaito was prepared for this though.
“There is another I have never been able to take a quirk from. It was rather recent. A young man appeared in front of me one day, looking rather started to be there himself. When I asked his name, he only gave me the word ‘Deku’. His quirk was one of the most magical quirks I had ever seen. I wanted it for myself.”
Kaito deliberated stopping there, but figured that maybe, the government would find this boy for him, and when he escaped he would have another go at this boy’s quirk.
“However, when I reached to obtain his quirk, it was as if there was nothing there. It was unlike One for All, where I can feel a tangible quirk residing within a person, but it is too heavy for me to move and too agile for me to catch.”
Kaito finished there, settling back into his chair slightly, waiting for his next question to answer.
“And what was this quirk?” Came through the microphones again, rather old for such a high-tech prison.
“At first I thought it was a transportation quirk, then with a closer look, I identified a pair of iridescent wings, which might have been his mode of transportation. However, as I reached for his quirk, something rather strange happened.”
Kaito paused for an appropriate amount of time before continuing.
“A circlet of gold and thorns encased his head, along with his ears growing longer and green curls becoming longer. His clothes changed from his school uniform to a pure white cloth, rather majestic in its simplicity. His eyes glowed vibrantly, and around him were vestiges of the Fae.”
“The Fae? As in fairies?” The voice came through the speakers with a bit of awe. Kaito would smile at the audience if he could but simply continued on.
“I suppose so. The fae are tricky creatures though. While they may look like the pixies you think of at certain times, these fairies were protecting their king. Their wings were jagged and rotting, their hair wild and untamed. Teeth that rival sharks were bared to me, and claws needle-thin grew from their fingers. This boy called to him the fiercest warriors, who were willing to die to protect him.”
“So his quirk-”
“His quirk, my boy.” Kaito interrupted, not wanting to ruin his one fun. “His quirk made him king. If his quirk follows the legend of the Fairy King, he is the most powerful person alive. He is ageless, wise, and the most dangerous person alive. He can obtain all knowledge of the world, and use it for any means. His quirk? Legendary.”
